A week and a half later, the family was helping them move into their new house. Eddie was inside with Nicky and Erin sorting small furniture and boxes into the rooms where they belong. It was Jamie's way of keeping Eddie from doing too much.
Jamie, Danny, and the boys were working on getting the larger furniture into the bedrooms, living room, and dining room. They were going to have to buy a lot more furniture to fill the house but they could take their time with that. The nursery furniture was going to have to come first.
Frank was unable to take the day off but would still be joining them for dinner at the new house. He had several meetings that couldn't be rescheduled. Henry was currently unpacking the kitchen with Emily and Linda.
"Uncle Jamie where is this nightstand going?" Sean asked.
"That one goes in Em's room. She's the one downstairs across from the den." He replied, picking up a matching one and followed him into the house.
Danny picked a box of Emily's clothes and followed them inside as well. He stacked it next to her other boxes as Jamie and Sean set the nightstands on either side of her bed.
"How're you feeling?" Erin asked Eddie as they were unboxing pictures and hanging them up in the living room.
"Fine, so far at least. My back has been killing me the last couple of days." Erin chuckled.
"Yeah, that probably won't go away. But try hot baths, and walking really does help. Also, get one of those yoga balls and use it. It will help loosen your muscles as well.
"I'll have to get one of those balls, and I cannot wait to try out that tub upstairs tonight." Eddie replied.
"Yeah. Take advantage as often as possible." Erin replied as she hung up Eddie and Jamie's wedding picture in the spot that they had already designated for it.
The boys all made several trips back out to the moving truck and everyone else made awesome time unpacking and setting everything up where they wanted it.
By four-thirty that afternoon everything had been moved and most of it had already been put away. Jamie was on the phone ordering pizza for dinner everyone else was sitting around and talking in the living room. Frank was leaving his office and going to pick up the pizza on his way over.
"Okay, the pizza is ordered and dad is going to pick it up on his way here, and the table is already set." Jamie said as he sat next to Eddie on the couch.
"Good, now we have about an hour to do absolutely nothing." Danny said as he let his head roll back against the chair he was sitting in.
"I'm going to try and put as much of my clothes away as I can." Emily said and headed into her room to start putting her clothes away. Everyone else sat in the living room and chatted amongst themselves as they only half paid attention to the tv that was playing in the background. After a while Eddie went to check on Emily. She found half of her clothes either hanging in the closet or folded on her bed so that she could put them in her dresser later. She also noticed that Emily had put on her headphones to tune everyone else out. She waved to get her attention and Emily pushed her headphones off to listen.
"Hey. You okay?"
"Just a little overstimulated. I'm trying to calm down a little bit before dinner. I'm really excited to find about the twins," Emily grinned and Eddie nodded.
"Okay, I'll come get you when Grandpa gets here, and so am I. I'm pretty sure you, Dad, and I are the only ones that think they're both girls," Emily nodded.
"Probably, but I feel like it just makes sense," Eddie chuckled and nodded.
"Me too. Like I said I'll come get you when Grandpa gets here," Emily nodded and put her headphones back on as she went back to sorting her clothes.
When Eddie got back to the living room Jamie gave her a look as if to ask, 'Everything okay?' She nodded at him and pulled out her phone to text him that Emily was just overstimulated. He looked at her text and nodded.
About twenty minutes later Frank walked in with the pizza. Jamie and Danny got up to help him and Eddie went to let Emily know that it was time to eat. Emily put her headphones on her desk and turned off the music on her phone before sitting it down as well. She followed Eddie out to the dining room where everyone else had already gathered.
"Did anybody think about dessert?" Danny asked.
"Yes, but how about we get through dinner first, Danny," Eddie replied and shot a look to Jamie. Jamie chuckled knowing that Eddie was only saying that because the cake was also for the gender reveal.
"Who are you and what have you done with Eddie?" Danny chuckled.
"She's a mom now, she's trying to set an example, regardless of what she would prefer," Henry added with a chuckle. Eddie grinned and Jamie shook his head.
"No, the cake that they got will just tell us what the genders are gonna be," Emily replied as she sat down."
"I thought you said you didn't know yet?" Erin asked, turning to Jamie and Eddie.
"We don't. They wrote it on a piece of paper. We gave that to the people at the bakery so they could make the icing on the inside of the cake either pink or blue. We'll find out tonight whether we're having girls or boys." Jamie replied.
"Well since we don't want to waste anymore time, let's say the blessing and eat so we can find out," Eddie added. They all nodded and recited the blessing together.
As they ate they carried on a few conversations about what was going on in everyone's lives and what they had to do over the next week. They occasionally circled back to the coming gender reveal but they would start talking about bets and Eddie would steer them away from the topic by asking another question. She wasn't fond of them betting on the babies.
After they finished eating and moved the pizza boxes into the kitchen to get them out of the way, Jamie grabbed the box with the cake from the refrigerator and a knife before waslking back to the dining room. He put the cake in the center of the table and stood next to Emily and Eddie as Erin turned on her phone to video everything.
Once they were all ready Eddie and Jamie cut the cake together and pulled the slice out of the cake. The room exploded, everyone reacting all at once. Nicky was jumping up and down, Henry was laughing so hard he was crying, Frank grinned and cheered alongside the boys, Danny and Linda gasped before cheering, Emily started bawling and buried herself between Eddie and Jamie as they hugged each other. Erin tried to keep the camera as steady as possible as she cheered as well.
"I can't believe we were right," Emily chokes out looking up at Eddie and Jamie.
"Two more little girls!" Eddie cheered. The family took turns hugging them all as they calmed down.
"I truly didn't believe it would be two girls," Frank adds still in disbelief.
"Me either, but can we pause for a second realize that these two girls are going to be as stubborn as the rest of us Reagans and have all of Eddie's sass," Danny laughed.
"Don't even go there," Jamie groaned with a chuckle and Emily laughed.
"Well, at least we know they're not going to be talked into anything they don't want to do," Eddie chuckled.
"True, but that could, and probably will, backfire on you, Eddie," Erin replied and Eddie paled in realization that she was right and they all laughed.
They stayed a little longer and talked about the future with the twins as they ate the cake before everyone started heading out for the night. After they were gone Emily went to finish sorting her clothes and Eddie went upstairs to get into the tub and soak for a bit. Jamie cleaned up the rest of the mess from dinner and moved into the master bedroom and started pulling his and Eddie's clothes out, starting with their uniforms so that they would be ready to go in the morning. He went to check on Eddie before heading down to double check the doors were locked and wish Emily goodnight.
Emily replied and finished with her clothes and making her bed so she went to jump in the shower in her bathroom. Jamie went back upstairs and joined Eddie in tub. He tried to help massage the knots out her shoulders and hips.
"Can you believe we're going to have two more little girls?" She murmurs leaning against his hands as they work through her tense muscles.
"No. But I can't wait. She's going to be the best big sister. They're luckier than they'll ever know," Jamie replied.
"I know. She's still so overwhelmed, I don't it has actually sunken in for her yet," She added.
"I know. But it will eventually and she'll be just as happy as she was in the moment," Eddie nodded. After a few more minutes Jamie helped her stand up and they toweled off and finished getting ready for bed. Jamie had already put the sheets on it earlier so they wouldn't have to worry about it at the last minute. They climbed into bed and turned off the lights.
"Good night."
"Good night, babe."
