(A/N: Well, it's time for the next story in my "Super Mario" timeline. Now that Luigi and Daisy have married, it's time to focus once again on Mario and Peach, and the title is self-explanatory! I'll get this fic started before you get bored.)

It was a quiet evening in the Mushroom Kingdom. Things had been going quite well for everyone there since Mario and Peach became the King and Queen their subjects had been wanting and needing for a very long time. Speaking of everyone's favorite couple, why don't we go check up on them and see what they're up to right now?

Mario and Peach were currently in their bedroom, resting after dinner and a meeting that involved planning the ball for their second wedding anniversary.

"Mama-mia, I never thought those meetings could make one feel so wiped out." Mario said as he flopped onto their bed, feeling exhausted.

"I know, Mario. You think they'd have that meeting when the date of our anniversary gets closer, not when it's still 3 months away." Peach sighed as she started to get ready for bed.

Hearing about what was coming up caused Mario to sit straight up, and he appeared to be thinking really hard. And Peach noticed, as was usual of her. Whenever she saw Mario look like that, she wondered what thoughts could be running through his mind, and her curiosity always got the better of her, making her want to find out what they were.

"What's up, Mario?" Peach asked, looking at her husband and noticing the look on his face.

It took a while for Mario to respond, because he needed to think about how to carefully word his response.

"Peach, I know I mentioned this back when we returned from our honeymoon and had to start preparing for our coronation day, but you said you wanted to wait." Mario began.

"What is it?" Peach asked.

"I said, one of the things we have to do is have children. They will be eredi al trono, heirs to the throne. Like I said, you told me you wanted to wait a while before having kids, and I agreed to it because I respect your decision. I always will." Mario said.

"Thank you, Mario. You're such a thoughtful husband." Peach said with a smile.

"Prego. You're welcome. Now we've been married for almost two years. Are you ready to have kids yet?" Mario asked. He was not forcing her to say yes. He'd learned his lesson back when Bowser wouldn't let him ask Peach to marry him back at Honeylune Ridge. They'd most likely have a child or two by now if Bowser hadn't been so hell-bent on having Peach as his wife.

Peach needed to think about this before answering him. She knew what people have to do in order to get a baby, but she was pretty nervous about doing the deed, which was very understandable. But she also knew what a kind, caring, and gentle man her husband was. He never did anything without first consulting her. He was a good man, always willing to do whatever she wanted to do.

Now Peach was realizing something pretty important: Mario has been doing everything she wanted to do without complaint since they tied the knot (except he had been upset upon finding out their honeymoon destination, but that was understandable). It was high time she finally returned the favor to the man she loved. He earned that much for being everything she has been wanting in a husband.

Plus, when Peach was a young girl, she had always dreamed of being married and having kids with the man she married. If she wanted that dream to become a reality, then she knew what she had to tell Mario.

"You know what, Mario? Having a baby doesn't sound like a bad idea." Peach said.

"Sei sicuro? Are you sure?" Mario asked. He didn't want to go through with it unless Peach was totally okay with the idea. He wasn't going to push her, either.

"I'm sure. Do you want to do it?" Peach asked.

"I do, but only if you're ready." Mario said.

"Give me all day tomorrow to prepare myself for this, okay, Mario?" Peach asked.

"Anything for you, cara mia, my darling." Mario smiled.

When Mario and Peach were ready for bed, they got under the covers and snuggled close to each other, reminding the other how much they loved each other.

So the next day, Mario and Peach went about their business, except Peach was mentally preparing herself for what she and Mario would be doing that night. It wasn't going to be easy, but she knew that it was going to have to happen sooner or later, so it might as well be sooner.

After dinner and dessert that night, Mario and Peach went to their bedroom, got completely undressed, and looked at each other.

"Sei nervosa? Are you nervous, Peach?" Mario asked, seeing how uneasy Peach looked.

"Highly. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm just afraid that it's going to hurt. But I know you would never hurt me on purpose." Peach said. They had slept naked together time and again, and had done some of the things married couples do in bed, but they never actually gave up their virginity. But she knew that she'd rather lose it to Mario than... someone else...

"I could never hurt you, Peach, and not just because you're royalty. But what are you saying? Did Bowser ever...?" Mario asked, getting angry at the thought of Bowser violating Peach.

"No, he never tried to do anything like that to me before, Mario, and I'm really glad he didn't. But I am surprised. For someone so evil, he seems to have amazing restraint." Peach said.

"I wouldn't say that. Look at how 'restrained' he was at trying to claim you as his wife." Mario said bitterly, thinking back to when Bowser ruined his chances to propose.

"I was referring to when it came to taking advantage of me when I fell unconscious, remember?" Peach said.

"Oh, okay." Mario said. He did remember being worried about Peach having been... tainted... by Bowser, and how she asked the Royal Physician to give her a rape exam. Thankfully, the results had come back negative; Bowser hadn't done anything to her, much to everyone's great relief.

"It's just that you've probably heard the way people exclaim when they're doing the deed. I'm not really sure if it's out of pain or enjoyment." Peach replied.

"Okay, I always wondered about that myself, Peach, so it's-a completely understandable. But if Bowser ever does try anything (since the fact that we're married didn't stop him from trying to claim you as his wife on our coronation day), let me know, and I'll clobber him into the 9th dimension for you. Then he'll have no other alternative but to leave you alone forever." Mario responded.

Peach giggled a little at her husband's words before saying, "So, this really is my first time doing the deed, and if anything, I'm glad it's with you."

"I know. This is my first time, too, Peach." Mario replied.

"Are you nervous, like I am?" Peach asked.

"A little. But I know I can handle it because I'm doing it with the one woman I love more than my own life; the woman I married, and she's you." Mario said.

"So, shall we get started, then?" Peach asked as they slowly moved to the bed and got under the covers together.

"Sì. But I'm going to tell you something very important before we start. I want you to go first, Peach. I'm not going to do anything until you tell me to. When you're ready for me to make a move, just say the word." Mario said.

"Are you sure about this, Mario?" Peach asked.

"You're my wife, Peach, and I love you very much. I don't want to hurt you, so you go first." Mario instructed.

Now we're going to fast-forward past the fun they had. I won't go into details, but I will tell you that those even though those crazy kids started out slow, they were having at it until midnight, when they finally fell asleep, completely worn out.

The next morning, Mario and Peach awoke. Mario had his arms around Peach, and she was resting her head on his chest.

"Buongiorno, regina del mio cuore. Good morning, queen of my heart." Mario said to Peach as she opened her blue eyes and looked at him.

"Good morning, Mario." Peach replied.

"Did you have fun last night?" Mario asked.

"I did. I was afraid it was going to hurt, but it didn't. I knew you were going to be gentle with me." Peach said.

"I was gentle. And it was also painless because I allowed you to start off. I didn't do anything until you were ready for me to do so." Mario said.

"You're so wonderful, Mario. I'm not sure what I did to deserve you, but it must have been something good." Peach said.

"Sono sicuro che lo era. I'm sure it was. It had to be. I often ask myself the same thing about you, cara mia, my darling." Mario replied.

"Now, after that night we spent doing the deed and sweating like crazy, how about we take a nice, hot shower together?" Peach suggested.

"I say let's-a go!" Mario said as he leaped out of bed and ran to the bathroom to start the water for their shower. Peach giggled happily at her husband's eagerness to take a shower with her.

About a week later, they felt like having another go at doing the deed, so they did. It started off a lot like the last time, but this time, Peach wasn't as nervous, knowing that Mario was going to be gentle and patient with her. They were having a lot more fun than they did the first time around, and because of this, they stayed up doing it until till long past midnight.

When they finally awoke late the following morning, they felt more in love than before, something they hadn't really felt when they woke up after their first time.

"Mama-mia... That was fun..." Mario said, still feeling amazed by it all.

"It sure was..." Peach giggled, not knowing what else to say.

Several weeks had passed since the second time Mario and Peach had done the deed, and Peach was getting concerned. She realized that Mother Nature had failed to pay her a visit. What the heck happened? The Queen decided to make her way down to the infirmary and ask the Royal Physician if she might know why this had happened.

When the Royal Physician saw Peach walk into the infirmary, she was more than a little surprised, for Peach never came here unless she had some appointment, or if something was wrong, and it was rare that something was wrong.

"Your Majesty! What brings you here?" the Royal Physician asked.

"I... I need to ask you something. It's about a matter of great importance, and I know you can help me." Peach replied as she sat down on one of the beds in the infirmary.

"Okay. What is it?" the Royal Physician asked, pulling up a chair and sitting down in it, ready to listen to what the Queen wanted to know.

When Peach told her what the problem was, the Royal Physician's eyes got really big behind her glasses. She had a pretty good feeling that she knew the reason behind it.

"You know, my queen, when Mother Nature fails to visit a woman of your age, and she's not on birth control, the woman... just might be... pregnant." the Royal Physician said.

"Are you sure? I... I might really be pregnant?" Peach asked.

"Didn't you know? Haven't you ever received the talk?" the Royal Physician asked.

"Well, my mother never could give me the talk because she died when I was an infant, and you never get it that young; you'll never remember it. And Toadsworth didn't really know how to do it properly." Peach responded.

"Oh, that's right." the Royal Physician frowned. She remembered Peach telling her this fact the first time she had to give Peach... certain examinations.

"But I did get the talk from Daisy's mother when Daisy and I were preteens, but it seems she must have failed to mention that Mother Nature would decide to leave me alone if I'm pregnant." Peach said.

"Have you and Mario... done the deed yet?" the Royal Physician asked.

"Yes. We've done it twice, over a month ago, to be exact. Mother Nature was supposed to visit not long after our second time, but she never came." Peach said.

"Well, there's only one way to make sure whether or not you are having a baby. I'm going to give you a pregnancy test." said the Royal Physician.

"This isn't going to hurt, is it?" Peach asked.

"Hardly. And this is more reliable than those pregnancy tests you get at a store, because they can be wrong or inaccurate, in spite of what the ads you've seen on the T.V. say. So let's do this." said the Royal Physician as she gathered her supplies.

One pregnancy test later...

"When are we going to find out if I'm pregnant or not?" Peach asked when the test was done.

"In a week. Maybe sooner if we're lucky." said the Royal Physician.

"A week, you say? Mario and I will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary by then!" Peach said.

"Ooh, really now?! Then hearing a positive result will make it a day for both of you to remember!" the Royal Physician excitedly said.

"If that's the case, it will. Thank you for testing me." Peach replied.

"You're welcome, Your Majesty." said the Royal Physician as Peach got up and left the infirmary.

For the rest of the day, Peach wondered if she really was pregnant. She wondered if she should tell Mario about it. No, that probably wasn't a very good idea. There was a time when Mario got his hopes up really high about something... only to get shot down like a duck in the end. She didn't want him to get his hopes up about a baby, and then get shot down if the results were negative.

"So, Peach, I know you went to speak to the Royal Physician today, about your issue with Mother Nature not showing up. What did you find out? Did the Royal Physician know why she never came to see you?" Mario asked his wife later that night when they were in their room, getting ready for bed.

"Oh, that?" Peach asked as she removed her corsets behind her white linen dressing screen. She didn't want him to know that she might be pregnant until the results came back. So she said, "Umm... she said that sometimes Mother Nature can be late. Besides, when it was around time for my second visit from her, she didn't show up until the following month."

"Oh." said Mario as he put on his pajamas. He hadn't known that. Either way, he was kind of relieved that Mother Nature was late, because her visits always made Peach feel uneasy and unhappy. They also made her feel ill with headaches and bad stomach cramps that sent her to the floor in sheer agony. Plus, he really didn't want her to feel that way the following week, during the ball for their second wedding anniversary.

"So, it's-a really nothing to worry about, mio angelo, my angel?" Mario asked.

"That's right, Mario. Everything is just fine." Peach replied.

"Okie-dokie. So in the meantime, we can focus on what's coming up. I can't believe next week will mark two years since we got married!" Mario said.

"I know, Mario. Sometimes, it feels like we've been married longer than that. But I can tell you that I've been loving every minute of our marriage since it began. But you want to know what I love even more than that? I love you most of all." Peach smiled.

"Ti amo, Peach. I love you." Mario said, giving his wife a hug.

Peach remembered how to reply to that comment in a way Mario really liked. She said, "Ti amo anch'io Mario. I love you, too."

Mario smiled at her in a lovesick way, and then they shared a passionate kiss, clearly enjoying each other's company.

And so ends the prologue of this fanfic. Yeah, I decided to add one at last. This fic needed one. Stay tuned for the official first chapter, where they find out the results of the pregnancy test!
