All stories start from somewhere. And all stories are different. Few are exactly alike, no matter how similar. but somethings, a few changes can change a story massively.
Footsteps fall upon the streets of Vale as a tall young man in a white coat and a bowler hat with a cigar hanging out his mouth emerge from an alleyway, his name is Roman Torchwick. Roman holds a cane as he puts out his cigar. The shop across from him has a sign over it. 'From dust till dawn' it reads. The doors to the shop open and Roman alongside his goons walk in. An old man is at the counter, his face fills with fear as he raises his hands up.
The old man opens the register.
"Here have the money!" The old man says, his voice filled with fear.
"Relax we don't want your money."
Roman says as he looks to one one of his goons.
"Get the dust."
Roman commands as he goons walk over to the dispensers filled with dust.
"The crystals. Hand them over and you'll be fine."
Roman says and the old man reaches under the display and pulls out a case and opens it, inside are a verity of dust crystals.
Ruby stands still, looking at a magazine about weapons, until she feels a tap on her shoulder, she turns and sees a man in a mostly black suit with some red accents and red sunglasses. The man points to his ear and holds his red blade up. Ruby takes off her headphones.
"I said put your hand in the air, now!"
The man says as he looks down at Ruby.
"Are you… robbing me?"
She asks, confused.
"Yes!"
The man responds, sounding frustrated.
"Oh…"
Ruby smirks, the man looks confused.
Roman looks and sees one of his men fly out the window. One of his men run up to a girl in black and red, she run and kicks him out a window.
Ruby stands in the streets of Vale and pulls out her weapon; Crescent Rose. It unfolds into its scythe form. She then points the barrel of her weapon at Roman and his men, she then sticks the sharp part of Crescent Rose into the ground.
"Okay… get her."
Roman commands simply and his men comply, running at Ruby.
As one of the men swing their sword at her Ruby grabs onto Crescent Rose and swings in a circular motion and kicks one of then men. Knocking his sunglasses off and sending him flying. Ruby jumps up into the air and grabs Crescent Rose. She lands on the ground. She fires off Crescent Rose and spins, then smacks one of the men across the head with Crescent Rose, knocking his weapon out his hand and sending him flying. She then locks a man to the ground using the back end of Crescent Rose. One of the men starts shooting at her with an assault rifle, Ruby dashes off, firing Crescent Rose rapidly to send her farther. Ruby the slide kicks the man into the air before sticking Crescent Rose into the ground and turning with it like a pole and into the sky, before smacking him back to the ground with the back of crescent rose. With all his men defeated Roman stands there and lights a cigar.
"You were worth every cent, truly you were."
Roman remarks sarcastically as he stares down at his defeated men.
"Well Red I think we can both say this has been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd personally love to stick around…"
Roman points his cane at her, it's barrel facing her, the sight pops up
"I'm afraid this is where we part ways."
Roman pulls the trigger and out fires an explosive, the explosive rapidly approaches Ruby.
Ruby turns the barrel of Crescent Rose downward and fires, shooting her into the air as the explosive strike the ground where she was standing and explodes. Sending debris into the sky and leaving a small crater. Ruby looks and turns around, seeing Roman climbing a ladder.
Ruby turns as the shopkeeper walks out the shop.
"You okay if I go after him?" She asks, a serious look on her face.
The shopkeep simply nods in responce.
Roman hops up onto the roof after climbing the ladder. And runs as Ruby fire Crescent Rose and lands atop the roof
"Hey!" Ruby shouts to Roman as he turns around to face her.
"My my red you are persistent. However…"
Roman says as a bullhead appears behind him and he climbs in.
"This is the end of the line red!"
Roman tosses a fire dust crystal to the feet of Ruby and aims his cane at it and fires out an explosive. The crystal explodes and Roman laughs until he sees a blonde woman, projecting a dust shield in front of her.
Glynda Goodwitch holds her weapons; The Disciplinarian in front of her, the thin, black riding crop held like a wand. She then sends a large amount of purple, orb-like projectiles at the bullhead. Causing the bullhead to shake as it's hit. Roman almost falls out before running to the cockpit.
"We got a huntress!" He says to the dark skinned woman with long curly dark brown hair, piloting the bullhead. She wears torn black cloak, underneath is a a suit with dried bloodstains on it.
"The woman calmly gets up and walks to the open door of the bullhead as Roman quickly sits down and takes control of the bullhead. Glynda shoots out a purple orb into the sky. It explodes and storm clouds are created. The storm clouds start rapidly shooting large, sharp ice shards into the bullhead, several piercing into it and one almost hits Roman in the head. The woman stand in the doorway of the bullhead, the hood covering most her face as she pulls out several knifes, suddenly multiple knives are approaching Glynda as she creates a shield to block them. Then sends them back at the woman, the woman, punches the knives back, using metal gauntlets with a cock pattern of the back of the hands. Ruby the turn Crescent Rose back to its sniper form and fires at the mysterious woman. The woman simply flicks the bullets back at Ruby, sending them flying back at the girl, Ruby doges and then the mysterious woman pulls out more knives and throws them at Ruby and Glynda, Roman manages to pilot the bullhead away from the ice storm and the woman looks back at Ruby and Glynda before walking back to the cockpit as the bullhead flies away.
Ruby looks to Glynda.
"You're a huntress!" Ruby says with surprise and excitement.
"Can I have your autograph!?" Ruby says looking up at Glynda with excited puppy dog eyes.
Ruby sits in an interrogation room, Glynda walking around her, speaking as Ruby looks down in shame.
"I hope you realizes that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly young lady. You put yourself and others in great danger."
Glynda says, scolding Ruby.
"They started it!" Ruby yells out, defending herself.
"If it were up to me you'd be sent home with a pat on the back and a slap on the wrist."
Glynda then smacks her riding crop down onto the table and Ruby moves her hands back and yelps.
"But… there's someone who wishes to see you."
Glynda walks to the side and a man with white hair and glasses walks in, holding a plate of cookies and a glass of milk.
"Ruby Rose. You… have silver eyes…"
The man stares at Ruby's eyes for a few seconds as she moves away slightly, Glynda holds up her scroll and plays a video of the events that transpired.
"Where did you learn how to do this?" The man asks, referring to the video playing.
S-Signal academy." Ruby responds nervously.
"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?"
The man asks, looking at Ruby.
"Well one teacher in particular."
Ruby responds, letting out a small almost inaudible laugh at the end.
"I see…" The man places the cookies in the table. Ruby grabs one and eats it, she then grabs more and starts eating them rapidly.
"It's just that I've only ever seen one other Scythe weilder of that skill before. A dusty old Qrow."
Ozpin says as he looks away with a smile on his face
"Oh, that my uncle Qrow!"
Ruby says , her mouth full of cookies, she then swallows.
"Sorry. That's my uncle Qrow! H-he's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing now I'm all like…"
Ruby the provides to make action noises as she moves her arms around, mock fighting.
"So I've noticed." The man says as he sets his coffee mug on the table. "What is an adorable girl, such as yourself, doing at a school designed to train worriers?"
The man asks as he puts his hands on the desk.
"Well… I wanted to be a huntress."
Ruby says looking at the man as hit sits across from her.
"You want to slay monsters?"
The man asks looking at Ruby curiously.
"Yeah, I only have 2 more years of training left at Signal before I'm going to apply to beacon. See, my sister is starting there this yea, and she's trying to become a huntress, and I'm trying to become a huntress because I wanna help people, and our parents always taught us to help others so I thought 'eh I might as well make a career out of it.' I mean the police are alright I guess but huntresses are so much more romantical, exciting, and cool you know!" Ruby explains with excitement in her voice as she talks. There's a lien e in the air until the man speaks
"Do you know who I am?" He asks Ruby as he looks at her.
"You're professor Ozpin. Y-you're the headmaster at Beacon."
Ozpin then chuckles.
"You want to come to my school?" He asks Ruby
"More than anything." Ruby responds, her eyes gleaming.
Ozpin then looks to Glynda who looks away with an annoyed sigh of approval.
"Well okay." Ozpin says simply.
Ruby's eyes widen with excitement as she then squeals happily.
"Oh I can't believe my baby sister is going to beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" Yang says excitedly as she wraps her sister in a tight hug.
"Please stop…" Ruby says as Yang crushes her in a tight bear hug.
"But I'm so proud of you!" Yang replies as she jumps slightly with excitement and pride in her younger sister, a bright smile on her face as she looks at Ruby.
"Really, Yang it was nothing."
Ruby says, looking slightly embarrassed.
"What do you mean!? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon will think you're the bee's knees!" Yang says excitedly, trying to hype up her sister.
"I don't want to be the bee's knees oaky? I don't wanna be any kinda knees! I just wanna be a normal girl with normal knees!" She says as she looks embarrassed and anxious.
"What's with You!? Aren't you excited!? We're going to beacon together!" Yangs questions Ruby.
"Of course I'm excited! I'm just… I got moved ahead 2 years. I don't want anyone to think I'm special or anything."
Ruby sighs and looks down, her feeling of nervousness big, as Yang puts her shoulder around her.
"You are special Ruby."
Yang says but she's interrupted by the TV as it plays a new broadcast.
"The robbery was lead by notorious criminal Roman Torchwick. Who continues to evade authorities. If you have any info on his whereabouts please report it to Vale authorities. Bakc to you Lisa" The male news anchor says.
"Thank you Cyril. In other news this Saturday's Faunus civil rights protest turned violent when members of a violent sect of White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The-" The news is then cut off as a hologram of Glynda appears then starts speaking.
"Hello and welcome to beacon.-"
"Who's that?" Yangs asks Ruby.
"I am Glynda Goodwitch." Glynda's hologram says as she keeps speaking. "You are among a privileged few who have been grated the honor of being accepted into beacon. Our world is experiencing a time of great peace. And as future huntsmen and huntresses, it it your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage and skill needed for the task. Now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and training to protect this world we live in." The hologram states before vanishing.
Ruby and Yang then walk to the window and look out at Vale, seeing the city from above, Ruby then spots Signal, her former school and feels some comfort at not being to far from home. Ruby and Yang then turn to see a blonde boy, he wears a black hoodie and light, white armor he has a shield in its sheath on his left hip as he holds his hands over his mouth, about to vomit. He then runs over to the nearest trash can and vomits into it.
"Well I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang says jokingly.
"It was nice when it lasted." Ruby counters.
"I wonder who we're gonna meet." Yang says as Ruby looks down.
"Hope they're better than vomit boy." Ruby says before noticing Yang has vomit on her shoe. "Ew Yang you've got vomit on your shoe!" Ruby says as she jumps back, the two then proceed to lightly freak out before Yang cleans off the vomit.
