Hermione Granger had been called many names throughout out her life.Know it all, teacher's pet, mud-blood just to name a few but the one thing she was never called was stupid. All her life she noticed things that others didn't.Like the fact that she looked nothing like her parents or the way that some of the professors and students at Hogwarts avoided her at all cost. She of course could blame that on having muggle parents but even strangers and family members showed discomfort around her. The only exception to this was Fleur Delacour, her mate and the rest of the Veelas that Hermione had come into contact with at school. The group sought Hermione out constantly and weren't shy to aways be touching her in some way be it a hand on her arm, hugs, cuddling and even sleeping in bed with some of them.It was never sexual or romantic but for some reason Hermione's presence brought peace to each girl and none of them could really explain it.Some of them came to the conclusion that maybe Hermione had Veela blood from some ancestor long ago but Hermione didn't quite believe that.

What she did believe was there was no such things as coincidences.Like when Dumbledore would make a suggestion to her that led her to being in the right place at the right time to help Harry Potter and his side kick Ronald Weasley out of whatever trouble they were in.She wasn't a fan of the pair at all.She thought they were horrible human beings and hated them with a passion. It was because she was a good person that she helped or more accurately to say that she was forced to help them.It was because of this the wizarding world dubbed her the Brains of the Golden trio a name the three of them were known as.She wasn't sure what role Ron played in the group as in her eyes he mostly complained, got angry and was always in the way but at least he occupied Harry so she wasn't stuck with him constantly.

It was because of her belief in no coincidences that she was in the predicament she was in.Her parents had given her permission to go to Daigon Alley to buy her school supplies where she ran into Ron and his family as soon as she got there. It was beyond obvious they were waiting for her as Hermione heard his sister Ginny complaining about having to wait so long.Hermione had taken it in stride as this wasn't the first time the Weasleys had been forced chaperones to her. She wasn't sure how much longer she could decline the many invitations to spend her school breaks with the family but was hoping she could hold out until she graduated. Then she would probably move to France and take Fleur up on her offer to work as her family's Veela researcher. The job would let her search through historical documents and explore the world looking for significant artifacts and places that were linked to the magical creatures. It was her dream job and to do it she needed to get as far away as Harry Potter and the Weasleys.

Hermione had just been able to give the red headed family the slip by saying she was going to the book store a place that no one voluntarily went with her, when she was approached as soon as she was in the back of the store out of sight from everyone. She was looking for some advanced wand-less magic texts when a blond haired woman not so accidentally bumped into her.Looking up from the book she was flipping through Hermione instantly recognized the woman as one Narcissa Malfoy. Hermione went to school with the woman's son and wasn't the biggest fan of the boy. They were blood purist who hated muggle borns and had a known dislike for all magical creatures. That being the case Hermione was very interested in why the woman had sought her out.

"Oh excuse me I didn't mean to bump into you."Narcissa said.

Hermione wanted to see if she was right in the woman's personal interest in her."It's no problem I was just leaving."

"What are you reading?"Narcissa voice was almost desperate.

"Just a tome on wand-less magic."Hermione told her.

"Are you interested in learning?"Narcissa asked.

"I find the concept interesting."Hermione wasn't going to tell this woman that she was actually quite skilled at it.She liked to keep her talents to herself as it wasn't wise to give others more reasons to want to use her for whatever convoluted plans they had.

"Well I'm quite good at it myself if you would like I can give you lessons."Narcissa offered.

Hermione was taken back."No offense but I'm not the kind of person you would want to spend time with Mrs.Malfoy."

"Please call me Narcissa and you are exactly the type of person I would like to spend time with."Narcissa said.

"Hermione?"Ginny's voice rang out from the front of the store.

Narcissa jumped back from Hermione."Well I should be going please think about my offer."

"I will."Hermione watched as the woman made a great effort not to be seen by anyone as she left the store.

"Are you ready?"Ginny asked.

Hermione huffed in annoyance."Ready for what?"

"Oh uhm well ready to have lunch with us."Ginny stuttered out in an obvious lie.

"I already ate so I'm going to skip but send my thanks to your mother for her invitation."Hermione held back an eye roll when she saw the slight panic in Ginny's eyes.

"Well if you aren't hungry why don't we go to the quidditch shop together.I want to look at the new broom models."Ginny said.

"I'm not done here but I'm sure Harry will want to go."Hermione knew of Ginny's crush on the boy and hoped that it would get the girl to leave her alone.

"I'm not sure I should ask him.I think I will just stay here with you."The sour look on Ginny's face told her what the red head thought of that idea.

"After this I'm going home so you really don't have to hang out."Hermione hoped that would get Ginny to leave and the bright smile that adorned the girl's face seemed to indicate that Hermione would get her wish.

"Cool then I'll let my mom know.See you on the train."Ginny called over her shoulder not even taking a moment to pretend that she would miss her so called friend.

Hermione didn't reply and went back to looking at books. She had lied to Ginny. When she finished looking at books she was going to visit the apothecary. She had wanted to get some supplies for a potion that she had read about in one of her books that she needed for a project she was working on for the Weasley twins.Hermione may have hated the rest of the family but the twins were very intelligent and had great ideas beyond just their usual pranks. The three of them were actually very good friends but no one knew about it because it would be a hassle if anyone found .Mrs. Weasley thought they were wasting their life away and had no ambition. The woman was also trying to get Hermione to date Ron so the mother wouldn't take to kindly to Hermione spending time with her other sons. That wasn't going to stop Hermione from Helping them out though. The trio had big plans of opening up a shop where the twins would offer their prank items and then work on the more serous defensive and offensive items to sell for various governments around the world on the side.Hermione already secured funding from the Delacour family as private investors and they were just waiting for the twins to graduate.Hermione couldn't wait to see everyone's faces when their plan came to fruition. It was going to be epic.
