'Damned insects of the Wave. Even mosquitoes would have provided a greater challenge.' Ren grumbled to himself after having casually split the giant undead crab monster that guarded the anchor in two.

He wished it had provided at least something of a challenge, but with him being 20 levels over the recommended rating for the Wave, having four times as many upgrade methods and the buffs provided by Rozemyne, the monster put up no fight at all.

All of this was tedious. He should just destroy the entire ship. Even with its barrier still up, he was sure he could do it. It might even let him vent some of this frustration.

'No. Rozemyne is right. The value of the information that they could gather from the Wave is far too valuable to waste just because I am a little pissed off.' Ren reprimanded himself.

"Ren, are you alright?" Rishia said as she put a hand on his shoulder.

He tensed slightly, before nodding his head. "Yeah. I'm good." He said before looking at his party. Most of them were a little winded from keeping up with Ren as he had charged forward like a wave of death through the ranks of the monsters, with Rishia only keeping it together because of the additional benefits she had received from being Class Upped by Rozemyne. "Go ahead and take it easy. We won't be moving on until Motoyasu destroys his anchor."

The group nodded and rested themselves, two taking up the job of watching the perimeter and slapping away any of the monsters that got too close.

"Ms. Kuroko, do you need any assistance?" Rishia asked the Crystal Library Rabbit who was accompanying them.

"No. I've got this under control." Kuroko said with a smile that was a strange mixture of mad scientist and chibi rabbit.

The small girl was hunched over the anchor with a notepad in hand, rapidly writing down symbols and magic circles that Ren was pretty sure he had no hope of understanding. From an angle, he could see some kind of computer screen like display on her spectacles that were letting her analyze the object's magical signature.

Like all Crystal Library Rabbits, Kuroko took on the form of a 7-year-old child, this one with long black hair that she haphazardly tied up. She was dressed in black robes that were completely covered in magic circles, with practicality valued over appearance. She proudly called herself Rozemyne's number one researcher and had been the head of the lab back in Alexandria, though she came out in order to observe and measure the Wave first hand.

"Just as I suspected. Darkness magic keyed in to the warding system. This supports our theory that the Waves' boss is connected to the Darkness element." Kuroko said, mostly just talking to herself. "It will be a piece of cake to unravel it without having to damage the main structure of the object, which is good. The material itself is strange though, as it contains the same chaotic life element as the Wave seems to be emitting. But chaos and darkness usually destabilize one another. There must be another element that is acting as a glue to hold them together. …Yes. I see. This is amazing! Though I suppose it makes sense! What else could it have been!?"

"Care to fill us in there?" Farrie asked as she passed around a canteen filled with energy restoring potions.

"It is the same energy signature as Milady's schtoppe. A fragment of divinity. The power of a God." Kuroko said as she adjusted her glasses. Ren's party members all froze up a little in disbelief, though it made sense to Ren. What else but a God to rip open a hole in the sky? "This is good. Very good."

"How is the enemy being a God a good thing!?" Farrie shouted.

"I'll need to analyze the Wave Boss to be sure, but there is a good chance that we can use the technology developed to seal schtoppes in order to seal the Wave." Kuroko said cheerfully as she looked back at them with a triumphant grin. "If it works, then we will be able to instantly close the crack in space at the beginning of the Wave, even before the Wave Boss is beaten."

"...No way." Welt said in disbelief.

Of course, Kuroko didn't tell them that it would likely require all 50 Crystal Library Rabbits working together to fuel such a spell, but that was what having the Avatar of a Goddess in your corner was for. Lady Rozemyne would be more than able to supply the magic, if they could get enough magic stones to set up the magic circle.

"Chalk up another win for research!" Kuroko said proudly before closing her notepad. "I'm done here, so let me remove the ward for you."

Holding up her arms, she generated a very large quantity of light attributed mana, creating a magic circle in front of her, as the black magic stone in her forehead glowed a soft white color. The next second, the black mist around the anchor disappeared.

Most of the Crystal Library Rabbits were extremely high levels, and while they had low base stats, they received plenty of benefits from their connection to Rozemyne. So the average Rabbit had around 300,000 MP at its disposal. Less than Humans and Demihumans of the same level who served Rozemyne, but still a considerable amount, especially with their levels of control.

It was barely a drop in the bucket for Rozemyne, whose stats had continued to increase as a result of people worshiping her, despite her avoiding leveling, nor was their mana as high quality, but was still a massive amount for a normal caster.

Kuroko wasn't the highest level, since she spent so much of her time at research and development, rather than hanging around Rozemyne or fighting monsters, but she still had 100,000 MP to work with. An amount just about equal to Ren's own mana supplies, despite him being level 87.

Magic power hasn't been his focus when it came to stat gains.

"Sword Boy, cut the chain so I can move it into my item bag." Kuroko asked, not too politely.

"Sure thing." Ren said, slashing the chain and then watched as the little rabbit moved the giant anchor into a pouch connected to a magic stone at her waist, an item modeled after the inventories of the Legendary Weapons.

Now all they had to do was wait for Motoyasu to knock out his anchor. …Perhaps Ren should have just done both of them himself.

It's not like they were that far apart. He could probably make it there and back in thirty seconds.

He just hadn't expected Motoyasu's group to be this slow. He almost felt sorry for the guy, living with all that dead weight strapped to his back.

Well, Motoyasu needed to earn contribution points somehow, so he wasn't going to steal it from him.

"Oh no. Don't look now, but we have company." Tersia groaned as he spotted a group coming towards them out of the treeline.

Ren nearly growled as he saw Itsuki and his party rolling up, his party members looking a little bit battered.

Some of them were also missing. Perhaps when Itsuki shouted at the acting leader of the country and stormed off when being offered a pardon for his crimes, some of them decided that jumping ship was a smart idea. After all, the boy was guilty of multiple accounts of murder and treason.

Claiming they were just following orders probably wouldn't cut it if they continued to remain by his side after the Royal Family called him out on it. Actually, it was a little surprising he still had any followers. Did they not fear what would happen to their families if Itsuki didn't stop his nonsense? Maybe they were just in too deep already. Or perhaps they actually bought Itsuki's 'Justice' crap.

"Motoyasu really must be dragging his feet, if he couldn't even clear his anchor before you showed up." Ren huffed as he and Itsuki glared daggers at each other.

"What are you doing just standing around here? Shouldn't you be fighting the Wave?" Itsuki said in an accusatory manner.

"We're just waiting for Motoyasu to take care of the other anchor." Ren said with a shrug, as if Itsuki wasn't of any interest to him. "Once the barrier is down, we'll head up and take care of the Wave Boss quickly enough."

"Head up? What are you talking about?" Itsuki said. "Everyone knows that in order to spawn the Wave Boss, you need to shoot down the ship."

Ren was about to snap at Itsuki that he was an idiot, and that you needed to kill the ship captain in order to cause the Wave Boss to spawn, not blow up the ship. But his experiences with Rozemyne had taught him that this world might not function exactly like the game.

In the game he played, shooting down the ship wasn't even a viable option.

But before he could really consider the implications of all of this, Kuroko exploded.

"EXCUSE ME!?" She shouted angrily, startling Itsuki and his companions, who hadn't really paid her any mind. "I'm sorry, I must be mistaken. I thought that I heard you say that you plan on destroying a priceless one of a kind piece of research materials. But no. I must have been mistaken because only a complete idiot would even suggest such a thing."

"Excuse me?" Itsuki said, indignant, but put on his back foot as Kuroko stomped her way up to him until there was barely more than an inch between them.

"Listen here. The barrier and suspension magic on that ship could lead to a technological revolution if properly studied. Not to mention the way it has integrated itself in a symbiotic relationship with the kraken." Kuroko hissed at the boy as she glared at him with hands on hips. "Then there are all the things we could learn about the world beyond the rift from it. Even just a tertiary glance shows that it is a modified trade vessel rather than originally a war craft, implying that the country it originated from had to repurpose an existing ship for a sudden and unplanned conflict. Who knows what else we could learn if we can search through the ship."

"But in order to reveal the Wave Boss…"

"I don't give a shit what your video game said!" Kuroko pushed Itsuki's chest, sending the unbalanced Bow Hero to fall on his ass. She then stood over him, her purple eyes turning into a rainbow of colors as her magical power flared. "If the Soul Eater is hiding itself with concealment magic, that is just a matter of using light magic to reveal it. Anyone with half a brain could tell you that."

Ren raised an eyebrow, because he hadn't exactly known that. Not that it didn't make sense.

From what Rozemyne taught him about the Darkness Element, it had three main functions; draining, concealment and warding. There were other things it could do, especially in combination with the Light Element, but those were the main three.

So the Light Element's ability of revealing could naturally counteract the Darkness Element's concealing magic.

Meanwhile, the Chaos Element was a subset of the Life/Death Element. Which was why they had expected it to be involved when the Wave started to spawn monsters, especially of the undead variety.

"Let me make one thing clear to you, brat. If you so much as scratch that ship, I will cut off your balls and feed them to you. Got it!" Kuroko said as she waved a scapple in front of the Bow Hero's lower section, causing the boy to pale and skerry backwards in a crab walk.

"Little lady sure takes her job seriously." Welt grunted.

"Ren, why are you smiling?" Rishia asked, confused as Ren had a bright noble smile on his face.

"Today just suddenly started to feel like a good day." He said, basking in the pleasure of Itsuki's fear. The sound of a destination reached them and they looked off to see that the second anchor was now down and the black smoke around the ship was weakening. "Kuroko. It's time to go!"

"Right." She said, before bringing out a large magic stone, which rapidly turned into a large black copy of Rozemyne's Lessy, only with a rabbit instead of a lesser panda theme. "Everyone who is useful get on board!"

She climbed into the driver's seat as Ren and his party muscled their way in, before closing the door and taking to the air, a second gray Highbeast flying up from where Motoyasu's party was in order to head towards the ship.

"Remember, keep the ship as intact as possible." Kuroko said as she brought out a magic potion and downed it. It seemed that making such a large Highbreast was more than a little draining for her, despite her high level.

Still, this was so much easier than climbing the chains.

Things were getting out of hand quickly, and by the time Rozemyne reached the final farmhouse it was completely overwhelmed by monsters.

"St…Stay back! I'm warning you!" A middle aged man was shouting as he stood in front of five monsters, inexpertly swinging a broom at them, seeming to be amusing them more than frightening them.

The man gave a squeal of terror as Raphtalia fell out of the sky and quickly sliced the monsters to ribbons as a dome of golden light started to rise up around the house, Rozemyne's barrier being temporarily raised in order to keep the monsters out.

"Are you alright?" Raphtalia asked the man who had fallen on his ass.

"Y…Yes." He stammered, tears in his eyes.

"Come on. We'll transport you to safety." Raphtalia told him, reaching out and pulling the man to his feet.

"I… I can't go! My mother! She's too sick to be moved! I'm not leaving her!" The man shouted, half hysterical.

"Your mother is sick?" Rozemyne said as she climbed out of Lessy, causing the man to pause for a moment as he saw her. "Take me to her."

The man escorted Rozemyne into his house and to a room where a very old woman lay, her face sunken with age and her eyes too tired to be open.

"...Boy. I thought… I told you to leave." The old woman said, her voice weak. The voice of someone who had given up.

"Mother. I'm not leaving you." The man said, sounding like a bratty kid, rather than a grown man.

Rozemyne looked over her body and concluded that the woman was suffering from a severe case of being old. Like a really severe case. She must have been at least 90, and these were medieval times.

Well, she couldn't exactly leave them there, so she was going to have to pull out the big guns. "Grutrissheit." Rozemyne said, bringing out the tablet that was her medium for accessing the infinite knowledge of her copy of the book of the Goddess of Wisdom, pulling up everything that anyone had ever known about Healing Magic.

Strictly speaking, there were five forms of 'Healing' magic in Rozemyne's world.

First was the magic governed by the Goddess of Healing, which reversed physical damage in order to repair a wound.

Second was the healing of the Goddess of Water, that regenerated new living tissue in order to strengthen the body.

Third was the mixed essence of the God of Life and the Goddess of Earth, which would balance the body's internal energy and revitalize it.

Fourth was the healing of the God of Darkness, which consumed corrupted and decayed elements within the body.

And finally, the healing of the Goddess of Light, which would strengthen the soul and reawaken its connection to the body, moving the body back towards its prime.

Rozemyne copied the magic circles related to all five and projected them around the elderly woman, pumping them full of mana as she cast her spells. The density of it was enough to floor almost everyone in the room for a moment, before the light started to fade.

"Did it work?" Rozemyne asked, blinking away the darkness that followed the blinding light.

Her reply was a deep and throaty cackling. "My, my. That was something." The woman said as she casually brushed aside her blanket and started to climb out of bed. She rolled her shoulders, which popped as she let out a very satisfied hum. "I haven't felt this good in years."

"M…Mother? Is that you?" The son said in shock as the woman snatched the broom out of his hand and gave him a slap across the back of his head. "Ouch. What was that for?"

"Foolish boy. You should have ran when I told you to." The woman said as she walked out, twirling the broom with one hand. The others followed behind her as she moved out of the house, looking up at the sky above. "To that I would live long enough to be caught up in a Wave of Calamity. Well, I suppose this old woman still has work to do."

Standing there, out of the darkness of the farmer's hut, they were finally able to get a good look at her under the glow of the red sky. She was barely recognizable as the same old woman who had been unable to climb out of bed. Her braided graying hair was closer to the chocolate color it must have been in her youth, and her wrinkled face only had a few small crows feet. Her body had none of the hunched over form that came with age, as she stood up tall, lean and built, like a strong healthy woman of the land.

Before, she looked like she was pushing 100. Now she looked like she was in her 40s. Her 'son' looked like he could have been older than her.

As they all stared in wonder, the woman began to laugh, and then kicked off the ground, her body surrounded by a flaming gold and red aura. She smashed her way through Rozemyne's barrier with a swing of her broom before running through the mob of monsters that had been congregating around the outside of it, mowing through them with ease.

"Elrasla's back baby! Kahahaha!" The once elderly woman shouted with joy.

"...I think I overdid it." Rozemyne mumbled weakly as the woman went on a killing spree.

"M...Mommy?"

So an explanation of what the Grutrissheit actually is, since a lot of people probably aren't that familiar with Bookworm.

The Grutrissheit is the original bible created by the Goddess of Wisdom, which contains all knowledge ever learned in Rozemyne's home world (like the Library Labyrinth).

Rozemyne has had all of this knowledge burned into her mind over the course of several months, but accessing it isn't easy. She uses a spell that lets her sort through it somewhat, but unless she knows what to ask for, she can't access it. So she has all the knowledge in the world, but doesn't know everything, if that makes sense.
