2 Weeks later
After 2 weeks of intense training, the class were finally allowed to show their potential at the UA sports festival. Because of the news report about the 'New All Might', the viewing was boosted through the roof, not that there was any lacking in the first place. But while the first-years festival got more attention than the second year, this one got the third years beaten by quite a margin.
Sports Festival Concession Stands
"Wow, it's so big!" Goten exclaimed in pure joy, staring at the variety of stands made for those attending the Sports Festival. They ranged from food stands to small shops of Hero Merchandise to even some banners that people can customize.
Yes, it was an event that everyone can enjoy.
"Now Goten, don't go off on your own. I want you to stay close to me." Chi-Chi said with a slight scold. For this event, she decided to wear the outfit she wore prior to Goku and Gohan competing in the Cell Games, just for old times sake. Surprisingly, it was still able to fit her, despite the five years time gap. "Remember, we're here to cheer for your brother."
"Sorry mom, but I can't help it." Goten said with a slightly deflated tone before his eyes sparkled. "OH, LOOK! IT'S KAMUI WOODS!"
"Hey yeah. And Death Arms is here too!" Trunks added next to Goten, a hint of excitement evident in his voice.
"Let them have fun, Chi-Chi. It's not everyday they get to see Heroes walking around." Bulma told her female friend with an amused chuckle. Bulma then turned to her husband, who wore a simple blue buttoned down shirt, tan pants and brown dress shoes. "See? It isn't bad to go out every once in a while, now is it?"
"These 'Heroes' don't even come close to being a worthy opponent. This is a waste of time." Vegeta said with a scoff, arms crossed as he looked to the side. Why the hell did this woman have to be such a pain in the ass about him staying home to train? Still, walking around didn't see TOO terrible. He frowned as he noticed some local Pro Heroes being surrounded by fans. "Tch, idiots."
"Well well. Look what we have here." A shrill old voice called out to the group, causing them to turn around. Walking up to them were four newcomers, though they were familiar with them. It was Master Roshi, Krillin, 18 and Oolong.
"It's good to see you Chi-Chi." Krillin said with a nod before he glanced at Goten. "My, you've grown since the last time we met, Goten."
"Thank you for coming, all of you." Chi-Chi said with a grateful tone.
"Hey, don't even worry about it. If one of us was in a tournament, we'd all come out to watch." Oolong said with a wave of his hands. "Still, seeing Gohan fight all those Quirk Users takes me back to when Goku and Myself fought in the World Martial Arts Tournament." Krillin added.
"Ahh, yes. Those were good times. Back when those two were my pupils." Roshi said with a nostalgic tone. "I wonder what the kids of this generation can do. Maybe one day, they'll surpass-"
"Hey, look! They're selling Midnight merchandise half off!"
Both Roshi and Oolong turned their heads sharply towards the crowd. Sure enough, there was a man who was holding out Midnight memorabilia, such as pushies and even posters.
"Oh woozer!" Oolong shouted with stars in his eyes.
"We need to buy all the Midnight posters we can get!" Roshi exclaimed with blood shooting out of his nose. The two perverts of the group then ran towards the stand at high speed, leaving a trail of dust in their wake.
"Idiots." 18 said with a scoff, speaking for the first time.
"Some things never change." Bulma said with a shake of her head before she checked her watch. "We should get going. The Sports Festival will be starting in a few minutes." The group, with the exception of Vegeta, nodded in acknowledgement before they began to walk through the crowd.
Other World
On a Rocky Mountain in other world sat Goku, King Kai, Bubbles and Gregory with a huge flatscreen tv faced them in the eyes, waiting for the sports festival. "Woo Hoo! Come on Gohan" shouted proud father, Son Goku, he waved his hands in the air waiting for the sports festival to start broadcasting.
"I hope Gohan makes these fights interesting otherwise it's going to be very quick and very boring" King Kai said sitting next to Goku.
"I can't wait to see all these quirk users in action, this is going to be fun" Goku continued to cheer enthusiastically.
UA Sports Festival Stadium
Determination.
Anticipation.
Nervousness.
Those were the emotions that everyone in Class 1-A was feeling as they stood in their designated locker room, each clad in the standard UA Tracksuit.
Two weeks of training, studying waiting were about to pay off in just a few minutes. To say that everyone was on the edge of their seat would be an understatement.
While there were a few people who were looking forward to the tournament like Bakugo, Krishima, Mina and so forth, there were also those who were beyond nervous. After all, they were all going to be battling one another. In front of thousands of people. Not to mention the millions or billions more worldwide. That kind of pressure brought a lot of baggage in it of itself.
"Wow, I can't believe two weeks went by so fast." Gohan said to his classmates with a carefree smile on his face.
"No kidding. I've been working my butt off, improving my Quirk just for today." Kirishima said with a toothy grin.
"Still, they could at least let us use out Hero Costumes. I really wanted to show it off." Mina said from her locker with a small pout. Her costume was a mix of badassery and cuteness that she wanted to show the world.
"I think they chose to do it so that everyone is equal." Ojiro said with a smile.
"Yeah, but I don't feel comfortable without my gi or my hero costume" Gohan consented, but at least he got to wear the boots of his fathers gi.
"Attention, everyone! We will be going outside in ten minutes!" Tenya called out while chopping the air like a robot.
"We know that, but shouldn't the class rep be the one to tell us this?" Sero spoke up, earning a sweatdrop from Tenya as he bowed his head.
"R-Right, of course." Tenya responded before he turned towards Gohan. "My apologizes, Class President."
"Hehehe, it's okay Iida." Gohan said with a chuckle as he patted his friend on the shoulder before he cleared his throat. "But he's right. We're going out there to show everyone how far we've come. I know it might be a little intimidating, facing all the other classes, but I've seen each of you in action and I can tell you've grown. It's time we showed everyone." Most of the class couldn't help but smile at Gohan's encouraging words. being chosen to be the Class Representative, he did his best to inspire the class whenever they felt down.
"Yeah! Let's show them how strong we are! I'm so pumped!" Ochaco shouted with determination, a pink aura surrounding her.
"She's so intense..." Kaminari muttered with a sweatdrop.
"No kidding. She's usually the most chill girl here." Jirou said with a blank expression. It just felt so out of character for Ochaco to be as intense as people like Bakugo and even Todoroki for that matter. She must be competitive by heart.
The door to the locker room opened, allowing Shouta Aizawa to poke his head out. "Mr Aizawa?" The class turned their heads towards their homeroom teacher, who looked at them with his usual bored expression.
"Is everyone ready? There's no turning back after this." Aizawa said bluntly. He didn't want any cowards to come out and participate, especially those in his class.
"Everyone should be ready, Mr. Aizawa." Gohan answered with a small bow. The homeroom teacher looked at the group for a moment before nodding.
"Good. I don't have to remind you how important today is. There's another reason why I came." Aizawa said, his tone shifting to that of a serious one. "Gohan, I need to talk to you one on one."
"Me?" Gohan blinked a bit, clearly surprised by his teacher. Was this about his duties as the Class Representative? Or maybe about an assignment? Either way, he didn't have any problem with having a little talk. "Sure." He then looked back at his class with a nod. "See you guys outside."
With that, Gohan and Aizawa exited the locker room, closing the door behind them. Once the two were in the empty hallway, they stopped. "So, what's this about, sir?"
"The beans. Don't use them." Aizawa said while turning to Gohan, getting right to the point. The teen stepped back a bit in surprise.
'Beans? Oh, he means the Senzu Beans. But why would he bring them up now?' Gohan thought with a frown. Honestly, he was expecting his teacher to ask him about the Senzu Beans the next day, considering how fast it healed Aizawa's wounds(He gave aizawa and 13 senzu beans after the USJ). But much to his surprise, he never brought it up.
"Look, I don't know where you got those beans, but frankly, I don't care." Aizawa said with a serious tone. "But using something like that during the Sports Festival is against the rules. That's why we have Recovery Girl. Don't think about using it when you feel tired."
"Don't worry about that, Mr Aizawa." Gohan said with his hair shadowing his expression. "I'm not the type of guy who goes around finding easy ways to win." he then raised his head, giving Aizawa a look of pure determination. "I want to show everyone how far our class has come, and using cheap tricks isn't the way we'll do it."
'He's serious about that.' Aizawa thought as he studied Gohan's expression. Due to his years of teaching experience, the Erasure Hero could tell when someone was lying, and Gohan was being completely honest. Shoving his hands in his pockets, Aizawa began to walk past Gohan, giving him a simple pat on the shoulder.
"Good. I'd hate to expel the son of Goku." Aizawa replied offhandedly, much to Gohan's shock. Aizawa resisted the urge the smirk as he continued. "You really didn't think we didn't know, did you? Don't worry though, only the Principal and staff know about your family blood. He told us after you massacred that villain at the USJ" As he continued to walk, he glanced at Gohan one last time. "The sports festival is an opportunity for our hero course students to shine. So I'm saying, go easy on them." With that, the homeroom teacher left, leaving Gohan to ponder.
"Mr. Aizawa..." A soft smile grew on Gohan's face as he began to walk back to meet his classmates.
Despite his lazy and strict demeanor, Shouta Aizawa was a caring and respectful teacher.
Reaching the door to the locker room once again, Gohan grabbed the handle before opening it...
"... It's fairly clear that I'm stronger than you."
And came face to face with an ensuing argument.
Gohan saw all his classmates were focusing their attention solely on Izuku and Shoto, with the latter giving the former a serious expression.
'What did I miss?' Gohan thought with narrowed eyes.
"However, you've got All Might helping you out. I may not know what's going on between you two, and I don't care care about your improvement but know that I will beat you." Shoto said in a completely serious tone, his dual colored eyes staring into Izuku's surprised emerald green ones. To think that one of the most quiet people in their entire class could be so menacing, even when he wasn't threatening to kill anyone.
"Hey, there's no need to pick a fight." Momo spoke up while getting between the two, "We're all here to compete, not wage wars."
"She's right. Why don't you relax, Todoroki?" Kirishima added while putting a hand on the dual Quirk user's shoulder, only for him to shrug it off.
"We're not here to be each other's friends." Shoto replied while turning his back on Izuku. "This isn't a team effort."
"That doesn't matter." Gohan suddenly spoke up, getting everyone's attention. His normally friendly eyes had a hint of anger in them as he walked up to Todoroki. "Look, I don't understand what your problem is with Izuku, but what you said isn't right."
"Midoriya isn't the only one I'll defeat." Shoto said, giving Gohan a sharpened glare. "I'll defeat you too."
Gohan looked kept a steeled expression. But deep down he was lowkey getting annoyed from Shoto's attitude. What was his problem? Gohan hasn't done anything to tick this guy off and yet he still acts he's got a grudge.
Sure they saw each other in class, but they never had a real one on one talk. Yet, from the way he was speaking, Shoto was mad at Gohan. "Your energy attacks, the way you fly, that strength you had the day of the USJ attack. It makes me question how strong you really are."
"What does he mean by that?" Toru asked no one in particular, feeling herself shiver a bit.
"This isn't good." Sero commented with a gulp.
"Ooh, spicy! The class' number two is declaring war on the class' number one! Place your bets guys!" Kaminari quipped, only for Jirou to hit him with her earphone jacks. "Shut up this is serious!" She mumbled.
If both Gohan and Todoroki got into a fight right now, there's no telling how much damage they could cause.
"Maybe I have better control of my Quirks thanks to my parents training me, but I don't see myself better than anyone else." Gohan said, squaring up Shoto. "I don't know what I did to make you so mad, but I'm sorry."
"I don't want your apology." Shoto said with a slight sneer. "All I want is for you to give it everything when we fight."
"You're not the only one who wants to fight him." Bakugou approaches the three, surprising the rest of the class. "How dare you declare war on them idiots without me. This is my opportunity to show you all up. Remember that Deku, Spikey, Icey Hot. I'll beat all three of you" Bakugou was growling at his three main opponents.
"And I... want to beat you guys aswell" everyone turned their heads to Midoryia in shock.
Much to everyone's surprise, Izuku of all people spoke up, looking down with his hair shadowing his expression. "I want to show everyone how far I've come. Even if you, Kacchan and Gohan are stronger and have more potential than anyone else here..." He then raised his head and gave the trio a look of pure determination. "I won't let you push me down. I wont be your punching bag Kacchan. I'll go on, even if I do lose."
"Midoriya..." Tenya muttered under his breath.
"All the other classes will be gunning for us with everything they've got." Izuku said as his right hand began to shake a bit. "We're all going to have to fight to stand out, and you can be damn sure I'll be aiming for the top too."
"Whatever Deku" Bakugou scoffed
To say that no one that Izuku Midoriya would say such an impactful speech would be an understatement. He spoke and stood like a real Hero, regardless of the obstacle in his way. He would give it everything to prove that he deserved to come to U.A, which all of them could respect.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Gohan was smiling.
His friend kept climbing higher in order to become a worthy successor of One For All.
Sports Festival Arena
"YYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOO!" Present Mic called out as his face appeared on a large monitor, earning cheers from everyone in the stands. "MAKE SOME NOISE SPORTS FANS AND GET THOSE CAMERAS ROLLING BECAUSE THIS YEAR'S SPORTS FESTIVAL IS ABOUT GO GO OFF! I'v only got on question for all of you: ARE. YOU. READY?!"
"YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Almost immediately, the crowd began to roar with hundreds or thousands of cheers. It was clear that everyone was pumped to see what this event would bring.
"These humans are too damn loud. Especially that buffon with the idiotic hair." Vegeta commented with clear annoyance, his eyes glaring at the people cheering in front of him. He, along with his family and the others, were all seated with the many company representatives who hope to find potential interns among the students.
"Well, it is one of the biggest events in history, besides the World Martial Arts Tournament." Bulma replied her hands cupped on her lap. "I was hoping to get a closer seat so we can see Gohan and his friends."
"Yeah, we're too high." Trunks complained while resting his chin on his hands.
"Yeah, I don't like this. Can we go lower, mom?" Goten asked his mother, who shook her head.
"Now Goten, Bulma was nice enough to give us seats, so we should be grateful." Chi-Chi scolded her youngest son before she reached into her bag... and pulled out a camera with an extended scope. "Good thing I was prepared."
"Gohan won't lose, right? I mean he did beat you know who." Oolong said to Roshi, who put his cane between his feet.
"Yeah we all know Gohan will win, he told me he's going to hold back so the fights look even and give these other guys opportunities to shine but he'll eventually win" Krillin said with a huge grin on his face.
"I have no doubt he will win. He is the son of Goku, after all." Roshi said wisely before he let out a creepy smile. "But I hope UA has some sexy cheerleaders give us a dance, HEHE!"
SMACK*
The old man couldn't continue his laughter as 18 smacked him on the head, causing him to crash onto the ground. "Hahaha, he fell down!" Marron laughed while clapping her hands, ignorant of the reason to her mother hitting Roshi. Vegeta ignored what had happened before he sensed something, letting out a scoff.
"He's here too?" Vegeta asked Bulma, who gave a playful smile.
"Gohan was the one who invited him. I did give him an invitation and a few clothes to make him look more normal." Bulma said before she spotted a certain someone. "Hey! Over here!"
"Huh? Who's she cal-" Before Oolong could finish, he and the others finally noticed who she was referring to, and needless to say... they were amused.
"Excuse me." Walking by several people was none other than Piccolo, who wore a red collared shirt with jeans, a pair of brown shoes and a baseball cap worn backwards to hide his antennes. The lone Namekian passed by several bystanders, who either complained about his tall stature or looked at him in awe.
"Hi mister Piccolo!" Goten greeted with a wave.
"Thank you for coming, Piccolo. And I have to say, you look handsome." Chi-Chi said in clear amusement. Even 18 couldn't suppress the smirk on her face. It was funny to see such a stoic warrior get so easily embarrassed.
"You could've picked something less embarrassing." Piccolo said to Bulma, who gave him an innocent expression.
"I thought you'd like those clothes. Sorry." Bulma said with a shrug of her shoulders, though there was a small twinkle in her eyes. Hey, just because she was representing her father's company didn't mean she couldn't have fun from time to time.
"AND NOW, ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. I'M YOUR WICKED HOST, PRESENT MIC! AND JOINING ME IS THE GRUMPY, BUT STRONG, ERASERHEAD! WHY NOT SAY SOMETHING FOR THE CROWD?" Present Mic suggested while pointing two fingers at Aizawa, who gave him a dry expression.
"I expect the students to give it everything they can." Aizawa answered simply, though that didn't stop the crowd from cheering.
"Straight to the point. I dig it!" Present Mic said with a snap of his fingers.
"With introductions out of the way, let's give a warm hand to our students as they make their way on stage!" Present Mic shouted as he gestured towards the tunnel of the stadium. Almost immediately, everyone turned their heads down, anxious to see the students.
Above the spectators were the teachers of UA, all seated together as they waited patiently for their students to arrive.
Chi-Chi turned on her camera, her finger on top of the flash button.
Piccolo crossed his arms with narrowed eyes.
Goten and Trunks practically bounced in their seats.
Vegeta barely gave a glance as he tapped his foot impatiently.
And Master Roshi was... looking at a poster of Midnight with a perverted grin.
"This first group are no strangers to the spotlight." Present Mic started.
"They survived both the hardships of U.A, as well as taking on a Villain attack"
"WELCOME, STUDENTS OF CLASS 1-A!"
The sound of multiple footsteps echoed through the tunnels before Class 1-A stepped out into the light, with Gohan leading the pack, surrounded by the cheers of the fans. They began walking on the grassy terrain, awestruck with the amount of people around them.
"W-Woah, who knew there'd be s-so many people." Izuku said with an extremely nervous expression. Even after knowing how popular the Sports Festival was, he didn't expect to see so many people.
"Hopefully, the number of eyes watching won't distract us from performing well." Tenya said with a stoic expression. "I suppose it's just another aspect of being a Hero we'll all have to get used to."
"Thank you from coming everyone!" Kaminari shouted, giving out air kisses while waving his hands towards everyone. Unlike most of the students, he didn't mind the attention one bit. "I'll give you the best show I can give!"
"Second, only to me, chat garçon." Aoyama said with twinkles around him, as usual.
Kirishima started walking over to Todoroki to give him some words of encouragement, but Shoto's sulking scowl made him reconsider it. He stood from afar and watched as Shoto and Bakugo both glared angrily at Gohan.
"This is both frightening and amazing." Momo commented with a smile before she looked ahead to speak with Gohan. "How do you feel abou-" Before she could finish, Momo notice how... off the son of Goku was. He seemed to be shivering a bit while holding a nervous smile. "Gohan?"
"O-Oh, don't w-worry about me. I'm f-fine." Gohan stuttered while looking back at her.
"Are you nervous?" She replied with an innocent expression. She never thought a guy like Gohan could be so scared about people watching.
"A little." Gohan admitted with a sigh. He didn't want to seem like such a wuss, but he couldn't really help it. He was okay with entering the tournament when Bojack and his crew attacked, but this was another story. So many eyes were watching his every move. His every breath... his every step... his every brow twitch... yeah, he was just plain nervous.
"It's okay." Momo said with a sympathetic pat on his back. "We all feel nervous with everyone watching. Just take some deep breaths." Koda nodded in agreement. Gohan took in a deep breath from his nose before smiling at the two.
"Thanks. I appreciate it." Gohan said gratefully before he walked forward, feeling a sense of confidence in his chest.
"They haven't gotten enough screen time, but they're just as capable as 1-A, give it up for Class 1-B!" Present Mic shouted as another group of students began to enter the arena, from an orange haired girl with her hair tied into a ponytail on her left side to a guy with silver hair and some kind of tan substance around his eyes to a girl with vine-like hair and even a guy with messy black hair and a cool smile.
"Following Class 1-B is General Studies, also known as Class 1-C, D and E!" Mic added as yet another group of students joined the fray, with a pale looking make with shaggy purple hair leading the way.
"And coming up behind them are Support classes F, G and H!" Yet again, another group of students were entering the field, the most notable being a girl with curly pink hair wearing equipment and a scrawny blonde male with glasses.
"And finally, Business Classes I, J and K!" One last group entered the arena, all looking somewhat determined. "Give it up for UA's first year contestants!" Following what Mic advised, the crowd cheered as loudly as they could, with fireworks being launched over the stadium and banners waving around.
"We're just here to make those guys look better, huh?" One of the students from the General Studies Course said.
"I'm not really feeling it... " One of the other students replied.
One by one, the students all gathered up in front of a single podium, where Midnight was seen holding out her iconic whip.
"Woowzer, it's Midnight in the flesh!" Oolong said with steam coming out of his nose. Roshi kicked himself up to watch the R-Rated Hero with the pig, his smile growing ever more.
"Hehe, still looking sexy as ever. Show us what you can do with that whip, or rip some clothes off!" Roshi shouted with his fist raised high, earning looks from some of the crowd.
"Master Roshi, can you please not shout things like that? People are staring." Bulma urged, only to be ignored. "Men."
"Tell me about it." 18 agreed while trying to keep her focus on the Sports Festival.
"Now the introductory speech!" Midnight said through the microphone in front of her, getting everyone's attention.
"Someone should talk to miss Midnight about what she's wearing." Kirishima said with a small blush on his cheeks.
"Seriously, that costume should come with a warning." Kaminari added while scratching his cheek.
"Is this really appropriate for a high school game" Tokoyami gave a stern look.
"What are you talking about?! She looks super sexy in that!" Mineta was giving Midnight a thumbs up. "She wouldn't be called the R-Rated Hero for nothing. Plus, she can make anything look sexy!"
"Of course you would say yes to that!" Kirishima said to the grape haired perv.
"Now that I think about it, who'll give the speech?" Sato asked out loud in curiosity.
"Probably someone with the highest grades." Shoji commented, a mouth forming on his arm so he could speak.
"Imagine if it was Bakugo who gave the speech. He'd probably call out a war on all of us." Tsuyu joked, earning a small chuckle from her classmates.
"The student who will give the pledge is..." She raised her whip before aiming it forward... towards Gohan. "Son Gohan of Class 1-A!"
"WHAT?" Gohan said with a terrified face. He could feel all his classmates, as well as the other students staring at him, some with smiles while others were in surprise. He was chosen to give a speech in front of THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE? WITHOUT ANY TIME TO PREPARE? ON LIVE INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION?!
Gohan could hear a squeal from the stands, he could only assume was from his mother. Using his Ki sense, the young half Saiyan was able to detect the energy signature of his mom, brother, Piccolo, Bulma's family and Master Roshi. 'Oh shit.'
"Can you please step up and give everyone here some words of encouragement?" Midnight asked, snapping Gohan out of his trance.
"O-Oh, r-right." Clenching his fists, Gohan slowly began to make his way up to where Midnight was patiently waiting, occasionally hearing chit chat from the other students. Each step could be heard throughout the stadium, which only added to his anxiety. 'It's okay. You just need to give a few words, and that's it. Then the Sports Festival can get started and you and the others can show everyone how strong you are. Easy... right?' Finally reaching Midnight, Gohan walked around, the microphone in front of him. He grabbed it softly before raising his head...
... only to feel completely frozen from all the eyes staring at him.
Both Tomura Shigaraki and his master, were both watching the sports festival from different locations, the moment Gohan appeared on the stage, Tomura began scratching his neck. "Tomura. Is that him?" All For One asked through the television. "Yeah, that's the piece of shit" Shigaraki scoffed glaring at the sayain hero.
'He looks exactly like him' the master shook
Other world
"If he's like you when it comes to speeches, he's screwed" King Kai said towards the dead Goku
"Whaaat? King Kai you know I have good speeches" He replies. "Oh really name one" King Kai throws up one finger, Goku responds "When I first went super sayain against freiza, I am hope of the universe, you remember that because you were watching" "That doesn't prove anything" King Kai turns away in a sulk, knowing Goku is right.
Sports Festival
Sweat ran down his head like a waterfall as his legs felt rather stiff, as if they were about to fall off at any given moment.
'Don't tell me this is getting the better of you, Gohan.' Piccolo thought with a frustrated expression. He couldn't believe the kid he trained when he was four was scared of giving a speech. Then again... Piccolo never gave an entire stadium a speech before.
Chi-Chi, Bulma, Goten, Trunks, Roshi and Oolong all gave Gohan a concerned look. Marron looked on in confusion while Vegeta and 18 just stayed stone faced.
'Come on, Gohan. Don't lose your cool.' Krillin thought while holding his pants with the rest of the Z fighters.
"Stay calm Gohan" Goku gave the tv a serious look on his face.
Not only were Gohan's family worried, but so were his friends and classmates. Mainly Izuku, Momo, Ejiro, Denki, Ochaco, Tenya, Toru and Mina. The rest were either confused or waiting patiently for him to speak.
'Dammit, just leave you nerd!" Bakugo thought with gritted teeth. Shoto just stared at Gohan with a blank expression, though even he felt somewhat annoyed by Gohan's lack of words.
'Stop shaking. You need to say something, dammit! You've literally took on the Emperor of the universe, a planet destroying android and reach a legendary transformation, which is known through out the entire universe but you're scared of a high school games speech?' Gohan thought to himself before he scanned the group... and saw him.
Hitoshi Shinso, the student from General Studies who was among the group who went to see how strong Class 1-A was, considering they survived the USJ attack. He told them that if he or any of the other students from the different classes won, that they could be moved to Class 1-A and that someone from 1-A would be taken out. He was so arrogant, thinking that just because they were able to fight some real villains, that Class 1-A thought they were big shots. Gohan had never felt so annoyed with someone since Frieza than he did with Shinso.
But just thinking about that gave him an idea of what to say.
With a deep breath away from the mic, Gohan spoke.
"By now, I'm sure all of you know about what happened in the USJ. Me and my class were forced to fight several villains who wanted to hurt both UA and All Might. Maybe you think that we're so far ahead, we can survive an attack like that with ease." Gohan spoke, much to the confusion of Class 1-A. Was HE trying to start a war with the other classes?
"But the truth is we were just as scared as anyone else." Gohan suddenly said with a serious tone, catching everyone's attention. "I saw how scared a lot of my classmates were, and even I felt a little scared. But just because we survived that attack doesn't mean we're the best. We all have room to grow." He looked at all the students. "Ever since the attack, I've dubbed the 'new All Might' but to me, everyone here has what it takes to be a Pro Hero just like him, whether they're in Class 1-A, B, C or D. It's all about showing your strength instead of speaking. That's how my father was and my performance today goes out to him" Taking another breath from his nose, Gohan continued to speak with a voice full of confidence. "No matter what, this is a tournament, and we all have to go Plus Ultra to show how much we've grown. So I hope all of you give it everything in this year's Sports Festival!" He finished his speech with a fist raised high in the air.
For a few minutes, no one spoke. They were simply staring at Gohan. Oh great, was it really that bad of a speech?' Gohan thought with a sad frown. He just wanted to motivate-
Clap*Clap*Clap*
However, Gohan was surprised to see Izuku was the first one to clap, a smile on his face. He was then followed by Ochaco, Iida, Momo and the rest of class 1-A. Not only them, but some of the other students at UA and even the crowd were joining in, with the occasionally cheer and whistle. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. Gohan's words were able to reach people? He surely wasn't expecting such a reception.
"THAT'S MY BOY!" Chi-Chi cheered with tears in her eyes as she took multiple pictures. She was so proud of her baby, she couldn't even contain it.
"Yeah! Gohan's the best!" Goten cheered while jumping up and down.
"That was pretty cool." Trunks said with a small smirk.
"I can see why he's Goku's son." Bulma said with a giggle.
"He shouldn't say such things. Everyone here won't even give him a challenge. If he loses, then he disgraces all Saiyans." Vegeta said as he spat on the ground. Kakarot and his son were too damn good to be true Saiyans, yet they both surpassed him.
"Not bad kid. Not bad at all." Piccolo admitted with a tiny smirk, satisfied with his student getting over his stage fright.
"Haha I told you Gohan can make good speeches" Goku wrapped his arm round a pissed off King Kai, "Yeah he got it off Chi Chi not you" He shrugged the sayain off who was just laughing at him.
"Now that's what I call a speech!" Present Mic exclaimed.
"His words of encouragement and the open challenge... that's how a true Hero should be!" He added before he broke down and cried, much to Aizawa's Irk.
"That a boy, Gohan!" Krillin shouted with a big grin.
"He does know how to help inspire others." Midnight admitted with a small smile. Toshinori smiled as well, proud of how much Gohan had grown.
"He was the right choice for Class President." Tenya admitted with a small, but grateful smile.
"Yeah, Gohan!" Ochaco cheered, followed by Mina and Toru.
"That speech was so damn manly!" Kirishima said with 'manly' tears running down his eyes.
"No kidding. A guy like that'll take away all the babes." Kaminari said with a deflated tone.
"I have to say, he knows how to motivate people." Kendo, class rep from Class 1-B said with a smile as she clapped.
"Yeah. He's not the asshole you guys were making him out to be." Awase added with an amused tone.
"I DON'T CARE HOW MANLY THAT SPEECH WAS! I'LL STILL CRUSH THAT ALL MIGHT WANNABE WITH ALL MY STRENGTH!" The silver haired male from class 1-B shouted, even as he clapped rapidly.
Monoma from 1b had a sadistic smile on his face which creeped out his classmates "I can't wait to copy his quirk"
"Hehehehe... thank you." Gohan said with a blush as he rubbed the back of his head. He felt a hand on his shoulder, revealing it to be a smiling Midnight.
"That was an excellent speech." Midnight said with a proud tone. "Now, go with the others. The first event will start soon."
"Yes miss." Gohan said with a nod before he began walking down, making his way towards his classmates. Several of the other students from the different classes gave him praise, along with a back pat or two. Once he reached Izuku, he relaxed. "That was terrifying."
"But you did great, Gohan." Izuku praised with awed eyes. "Your words encouraged everyone out here, and even the crowd."
"I agree." Momo said with a beautiful smile, giving Gohan a nod. "You spoke like a true Hero."
"Thanks." Gohan said with a genuine smile on his face. He was glad he had friends like Izuku and Momo to support him. Otherwise, he would've stayed frozen in place.
"Without further adieu, it's time for the first event of this year's Sports Festival to begin!" Midnight said in the mic, getting more cheers from the crowd. "Students, this is where you'll be feeling the pain!" Though her words were rather off, the students still listened intently, wondering what challenge will be thrown their way first. "The first game of the festival is..." A screen suddenly appeared behind the R-Rated Hero, showing what looked like a slot machine before it began spinning.
Every single person watched in anticipation, some more than others. It spun so fast, they couldn't even see what kinds of events they could potentially get.
And then... the machine stopped.
"An obstacle course!"
EVENT ONE: OBSTACLE COURSE
Midnight called out as she pointed at the screen, which showed an image of a stick figure running while the words for 'Obstacle Course' appeared in japanese. "Students from every class will all participate in this arousing event, full of traps and other surprises that'll have you quaking in your boots!" Waving her tassel, Midnight continued as the screen showcased a large circle with a stick figure running around it. "The track is four kilometers around the outside of the stadium. As long as you stay on the course, you're free to do whatever your heart desires. Although, if you go out of line..." She licked her lips before smiling at the students. "Then I'll have to PERSONALLY restrain you."
"... You know, I don't know if I want Trunks coming here now." Bulma couldn't help but say while covering her son's eyes, much to his irritation.
"He he, you can't do anything to me, Midnight! I'm right up here!" Roshi called out while standing up and waving his arms, getting looks from the other spectators.
"Idiots..." Vegeta muttered to himself before he looked down to the students, specifically Gohan. 'You had better not disappoint the Saiyan race, boy.'
The students moved towards the entrance. Todoroki managed to get a spot at the starting line, his face more determined than before. The reason for that was currently standing on the stands, even people noticing him. No. 2 best pro hero, Endeavor. Todoroki scowled, seeing that man making a proud face.
"BEGIN!!!"
(PLAY JET SET RUN)
"And they're off to a racing start! What detail should we pay attention to so early in the race!?" Midnight yelled.
At that moment, all of the students simultaneously began charging towards the tunnel as they wanted to begin with a good lead.
"OKAY! Here's the play-by-play! Are you ready to do the commentary, Eraser?" Present Mic asked Aizawa.
"You are the one who forced me to come in the first place." Aizawa lazily replied back.
"Let us get started right away! What should we pay attention to in the early stages?"
"This part right now." Aizawa said as he looked towards what was happening inside the tunnel.
"-Hey, hey!"
"-This is too narrow!"
"-Ouch!"
"-Hey, move!"
Currently, all of the participants were smashed up together as they all started running towards the tunnel at the same time. The tunnel was way too narrow and small for all of the students to fit. It seemed as though it was constructed like that on purpose to test how the First years would get through it.
Suddenly, the temperature began to drop dramatically as ice covered through the entire tunnel. Many students were caught trapped in ice as they couldn't move. They then saw a bi-colored teen easily running past them.
"TODOROKI FROM 1.A SENT A CHILL UP THEIR LEGS, BLOCKING MOST OF THE COMPETITION! BUT NOT ALL ARE OUT YET!"
"It was a rational move."
Bakugo used his explosions to leap over the crowd. Yaoyorozu created a pole from the palm of her hand to lift herself up. Tokoyami got launched forward by Dark Shadow, while Ojiro used his tail for an extra boost. Mina managed to melt the ice with her acid. The guy with purple hair, who declared war in the name of those who did not pass the entrance exam was being carried by a bunch of people. The crowd went wild in the stadium, and Present Mic was yelling about something, but Shoto ignored it in favor of sprinting onwards as fast as he could.
"Nice trick Todoroki!" Yaoyarozu called out.
"I WON'T LET YOU GET AWAY SO EASILY, YOU ICY HOT BASTARD!" Bakugo cried out as he blasted off.
However, an unseeable force caused him to stumble a bit, forcing him to unleash a second explosion to stablize himself. "What the?!"
"Excuse me!" Gohan called out as he rushed past the other students in the blink of an eye. He was so fast that he even passed Todoroki, but not before giving him a quick greeting. "Hi, Shoto! Bye, Shoto!"
"WOAH! Check out this plot twist! Class 1.A's Son Gohan is actually outrunning everyone!" Present Mic called out from his mic. The crowd began chanting for him.
"THAT'S MY BOY! KEEP GOING, BABY!" Chi-Chi cheered as loud as she could, standing up and waving her arms as if Gohan would be able to hear her. Due to the volume of her voice, plus the cheers of everyone else, Piccolo scrunched his face in pain.
Deku yelled as he blasted off towards the leaders, activating One For All's Full Cowl, destroying Todoroki's ice floor. Izuku would use full cowl to constantly leap into the air at incredible speed to pass the competition.
"The icey floor has been destroyed by class 1.A's very own Izuku Midoryia!" Present mic shouted making the crowd cheer for the him as well .
"Midoryia?"
"Deku?"
Bakugou and Todoroki were easily surpassed by Izuku.
(END MUSIC)
(PLAY ROBO INFERNO)
Gohan And Izuku were leading the pack until they ran into hard metal that made them stop immediately in his tracks.
"Targets found... Lots!"
"OBSTACLES HAVE SHOWN UP SUDDENLY! STARTING WITH... THE FIRST BARRIER! ROBO INFERNO!" Present Mic announced as multiple Zero Pointers began emerging and setting their sights on the participants.
"SO COOL!"Goten and Trunks said in unison. It was just like that super heroes show with the colored uniforms and the giant robot fights, only this time, it was real.
"Wowzer! U.A really knows how to go all out, don't they? Aren't they worried their kids will be killed?" Oolong couldn't help but blurt out as he looked at the robots on screen with surprised eyes. He understood that this school trained their kids to master their powers, but aren't the killer robots a bit overboard?
"Aren't those the Zero-Point Villains from the Entrance Exam?" Kaminari said in horror as there was a horde of the robots in front of the students.
"Seriously? The Hero Course had to fight those?"
"This is what they meant by obstacles?!"
"There are too many! I can't get through!"
"So this is what the rest of my peers had to fight in the Entrance Exams." Shoto said as he was looking at the Zero Pointers for the first time.
"I wonder where they got the money for it?" Momo said as the robots seemed very expensive to manufacture.
A Zero-Pointer began to lift its hand and aimed it towards Gohan as it planned to crush him.
Right before the hand could do so however, Gohan stopped the robot's hand with his own as he began lifting it back up.
Then, in a blink of an eye, Gohan kicked the robot with monster force as it was sent flying up. Gohan jumped to where the robot was and punched its head clean off. He then shot of a Ki blast, destroying at least 10 3 pointers. He landed towards the ground and sped off, creating a sonic boom.
"WHAT"
"THE"
"FUCK?"
The rest of the first years all froze from disbelief, jealousy, amazement.
Shigaraki would stamp the table he sat infront out of rage. "He's impressive isn't he Tomura? I see why Nomu had a problem" All For One said. "He'll pay"
With the display of power by the Hybrid Saiyan. Shoto sucked his teeth in annoyance as he sees Gohan running in the distance.
'I can't let him out perform me!' Shoto said mentally as his right hand began emitting frost.
"If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would've prepared something better. Especially, that my dear old man is watching." Shoto said as one could notice a negative connotation in his voice when he referenced his father, Endeavor.
The bi-colored teen then swiped his right arm upwards as he froze a horde of Zero Pointers with absolute ease. They all stopped malfunctioning due to Shoto's ice freezing their circuits.
"He stopped them!"
"Between their legs! We can get through!"
Many of the participants began to go through the opening that Todoroki made.
"I wouldn't if I were you." Shoto began as he started trekking ahead."They'll fall over. I froze them while they were off balance... On purpose!" Shoto said in a monotone voice as the Zero Pointers collapsed on a good amount of students, effectively immobilizing them.
"Huh that kid with the ice quirk is pretty strong," Eighteen commented. "He froze those giant robots like they were nothing."
"He's got some competition if he wants second place though," Piccolo pointed to Izuku, catching up to Todoroki.
'Come Izuku, think' Deku stood there frustrated at the fact he wasn't doing anything then the words of All Might reverberated in his mind.
"I want you tell the world, 'I AM HERE!"
He powered up to full cowl and blasted away from the crowd, as he ran towards a zero pointer robot he began jumping upwards the robots body. He powers up how leg and smashed the robots head, creating a hole as he decided to jump inside the robots cranium.
A few seconds went by then the crowd began hearing a muffled shout. "*Manchester*"
"SMASH" Izuku screams as he launches himself out of the robot, causing the head to blow up, leaving the rest to watch in awe.
A huge angry scream could be heard at the front of the crowd, followed by an aggressive explosion and a gust of wind. "Like Hell, I'm going to let them idiots get past me!" Bakugo yelled as he blasted Explosions from his palms as it propels him towards the head of the Zero Pointer.
Once at the top, Bakugou's veins begin to large in arms as he created which scorched the robots head and upper torso, leaving it like a complete crisp and blasted himself away.
"YEAH THATS MY GOHAN!!!" Chi Chi yelled a storm of bragging rights.
"THATS IT YOUNG MIDORIYA SHOW THE WORLD YOU ARE HERE" All Mights jumps up from his seat with suprise.
"SHOTOOOO!!!" Endeavour releases
Flames from all round his body from the impressive performance from his son.
"That's it Katsuki. SHOW THEM NO MERCY!" Mitsuki Bakugou screams, nerving the rest of the crowd and embarrassing her husband, Masaru Bakugou.
"WOWW CLASS 1a's SON GOHAN, IZUKU MIDORIYA, SHOTO TODOROKI AND KATSUKI BAKUGOU SHOWING EVERYONE HOW IT'S DONE. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN TEACHING THEM ERASERHEAD?" Present Mic announces. "Nothing," Aizawa answered calmly. "This is just the fruit of the fires they light in each other."
The crowd could now see more students from Class 1.A beginning to take charge such as Tenya who kicked away a couple of Two-Pointers, Jiro who used soundwaves generated from her ear lobes to short circuit the robots, and Kaminari who simply fried the robots with yellow electricity.
"Those who experienced firsthand that world above them through the incident at USJ..."
"Release!" Ochaco yelled as One-Pointers fell from the air behind her.
"Those who had fear planted in their hearts... "
Ojiro used his tail to swipe through the robots and counter attack as he destroyed them with ease.
"Those who dealt with it and pulled through... They all used that experience to drown out their hesitation." Aizawa stated as he acknowledged what his students had to go through during the USJ invasion and is proud that they are using that experience to fuel and drive them in their pursuit of glory in the Sports Festival.
A multitude of explosions were heard as several Zero Pointers collapsed as they were destroyed.
"Hmph! Piece of cake!" Momo said as she stood by a smoking cannon. She had her PE shirt open due to her needing to reveal some skin to use her Quirk. She was able to create a cannon to effortlessly destroy the Zero Pointers as they were play things.
"She defeated those Zero-Point Villains so easily?!" One random student asked as he was gobsmacked at the fact that Momo could just create a cannon out of nowhere and just fire down the faux Villains.
(MUSIC END)
Under the zero point robot was class 1a Kirishima and class 1b TetsuTetsu who would both smash their way through. "IM ALIVE" Kirishima is the first to break through the robot. "CLASS 1.A IS REALLY FULL OF JERKS FULL OF THEMSELVES. WAIT UNTIL I GET MY HANDS ON THOSE FOUR!" Screams TetsuTetsu as he breaks free shortly after.
"Anyone else without my quirk would've been Killed" Kirishima groaned as he began running again. "Come on, I have enough trouble standing out as it is!"
Midoriya was surprised by how well his body had grown, as he ended up running towards the fall zone behind Gohan. Todoroki caught up to third, with Bakugo close in fourth, but Midoriya wouldn't lose to them.
Next in front of them was what seemed to be a bottomless pit. There were tall platforms spaced out between each other but they were so far apart that it seemed like it was impossible to simply jump from one platform to the next. In between each platform were long and narrow trails of rope that honestly didn't seem like they were stable enough to hold the weight of a couple of students.
"When did they build this stage?" Ocacho asked as she like the other students were very fearful of dropping to their death.
Gohan launches himself into the air, creating a miniature shockwave as he began to fly over the entire obstacle.
Izuku carefully looked at the entire obstacle for a couple of seconds before smirking as he got into a jumping stance, activating full cowling. He then launched himself high in the air as he easily jumped from platform to platform at very quick and agile speeds without even having to use the ropes at all!
"Next up the fall zone let's see how our students will per- OH MY GOSH SON GOHAN WOW" Present Mic's Glasses dropped as he just awed at Gohan.
"He's flying"
"What the hell?"
"What quirk does he have?"
"That's son Gohan from class a for ya. His quirk. Sayain. He has an energy source inside his body which can manipulate to gain speed, strength, durability, he can use it to fly and shoot energy lasers from his hands. Is it Overpowered? Yes." Present Mic states which caught the crowds attention as they agreed as Gohan has been nothing but impressive so far.
"Wow this kid is the real deal"
"No wonder he's the next All Might"
"Wow he really called his quirk sayain I'm surprised really." Bulma as she put her hand on her chin. "Yeah same here. Gohan's never called himself a sayain" Krillin followed as he folded his arms with questioning look on his face.
"Hmph" Vegeta closed his eyes giving off an obvious smirk which caught attention of everyone else supporting the young half sayain.
'For fuck sake' thought by both of a Gohan and Izuku's rivals as they were followed by Todoroki skating the cords with his ice, and finally Bakugo blasting off over the pits before the rest of the class found their way.
"It's a four way race between 1a's hoursemen. Last obstacle, the land mines" Mic was getting over excited to see a race as close as this. Aizawa sat still unphased knowing that Gohan could of completed this within seconds if he wanted to and that he was going to win.
"IZUKU MIDORIYA AND SON GOHAN ARE CLEARLY QUICK ON THEIR FEET, BUT ARE THEY QUICK ENOUGH TO CROSS AN ACTUAL MINEFIELD WITHOUT GETTING BLASTED? Disclaimer: the mines aren't lethal, but they're loud and flashy enough to make you pee your pants!"
"Okay, I can handle robots and a big hole, but MINES?! WHO THOUGHT OF THIS CRAP?!" Oolong shouted while pulling on his ears out of insanity. Was the principal some kind of sadist or what?
"Gohan can handle it." Piccolo said simply, getting a look from Oolong. "I trained him in the wild for a year."
"And I had Goku and Krillin deliver milk and outswim sharks when they trained under me." Roshi added.
"And I trained in twenty times Earth's gravity." Vegeta said arrogantly with his arms crossed.
"But... I... Those kids aren't... ah, what's the point?" Oolong sighed in defeat while slouching down. There was just no point arguing with a bunch of crazy Ki users, was there?
Gohan would increase his speed to make sure he wouldn't be hit by the land mine explosions, Izuku thought the same aswell as he increased his speed to 20%. Once they was past the landmines, huge explosions began to go off, blocking both Todoroki and Bakugou from coming nearer. "I won't lose!"
"DEKU! RICEBOWL! DONT YOU DARE!" Bakugou screams as he launches himself towards the explosions, leaving Todoroki fourth place.
Gohan continued to run in first place, wasting no time as he rushed into the stadium, followed by Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo. "And it looks like our winner is... Son Gohan! Followed by Izuku Midoriya, and behind him is Katsuki Bakugou!"
"YOU DID IT, GOHAN! I KNEW YOU COULD!" Chi-Chi cried out, tears running down her cheeks out of pure joy. She reached down and picked up Goten, hugging him close.
"I KNEW HE COULD DO IT! NO ONE CAN BEAT MY BIG BROTHER!" Goten yelled with a big smile on his face.
Rainbow colored confetti dropped as the crowd cheered furiously, happy to see the Hybrid Sayain and the Green Haired Cinnamon Roll come first and second place in the Obstacle Race. Bakugou just scoffed with both hands in his pocket, glaring at the two, sharing as much hate for both.
Outside the stadium, a certain blonde haired Heroine was staring at the jumbotron which showed the smiling face of Izuku.
had a finger on her chin as she hummed in thought.
"Where have I seen him before... ?"
Her eyes then comically widened as she finally remembered.
"OHHHHH! It was that kid from last year! The one who rushed the Slime Villain who had a hostage and was then saved by All Might! How the hell could I forget?!"
Death Arms looked at the screen as he raised his eyebrows, "Oh snap, hey you're right! It is the reckless boy! And woah, it looks like he grew a few inches, and bulked up too."
"It truly is a small world. Who would have thought we would be seeing this kid again getting second place in the first game of the U.A. Sports Festival!" Kamui Woods commented as he also recognized Izuku from the Slime incident from 10 months ago.
Meanwhile, Todoroki, who came fourth, was groveling to himself. "There's no way in hell! I should of won!" Todoroki felt anger take over him, he could feel the heat coming out of his left side. He took a few deep breaths, aimed one last glare at Gohan, before walking away. The next event will be his.
"I... did it... All Might." Izuku muttered to himself between breaths, rubbing his face to clean away the sweat on his face. Sure, he wasn't able to win, but the point of this event was to show everyone what he had and needless to say, he impressed everyone. A hand appeared in front of Izuku, catching his attention as he looked up, looking at Gohan's smiling face.
"You did great, Izuku." Gohan said in a proud tone. Izuku, not being able to hold back his own smile, grabbed Gohan's hand, allowing his friend to pull him up. Gohan then turned towards Todoroki and Bakugo. "And you guys were great too."
"Oh shut it, nerd! You got lucky!" Bakugo sneered in annoyance before he walked off. He then grabbed his left arm, which felt very sore from using his Quirk for so long. 'Those damn nerds outran me! ME! They surpassed me again!' Bakugo clenched his arm while gritting his teeth. "Not again... not again..."
Unbeknownst to Bakugo, a certain Saiyan was watching him from the stands, raising a brow ever so slightly.
Thirty seconds after them was Iida, who somehow managed to look proud and disappointed at the same time—probably because, while he'd managed to make it into the top five, winning races like this was his thing. Gohan and Midoriya couldn't help but grin as the rest of their friends showed up.
As Yaoyarozou made her way through the tunnel, panting heavily, there was Mineta, sticking his balls on her back. "Haha, it's like getting two birds with one stone." "You are the worst" suddenly, Gohan had the sudden urge to punch Mineta in the face. Really, Really Hard.
Even better, his entire class had made it to the second round; all of 1-B had also passed, along with the General Studies student
"Let's have an applause for all of our competitors as we wait for the results!"
"Deku! Gohan!" Ochaco wheezed out while lazily running up to her friends, getting their attention.
"Hey Ochaco. You okay?" Gohan asked with slight concern, only for her to wave of his concern.
"Just... tired..." Ochaco said before taking some deep breaths and straightening up. "But you two were crazy awesome! Gohan, you were really fast, even when you aren't flying. And Deku! That green lightning on your body was crazy! I thought you were going to explode!"
"O-Oh! N-No, I wasn't. B-But thanks." Izuku said in embarrassment while wrapping his arms around his head to cover his red face.
"The first event for the first years is finally over, and what a game it was!"Midnight announced with a smile on her face. "Only the top forty will be allowed to advance to the next round." Midnight stated, hearing the groans and sighs of disappointment from those who didn't make it to the top forty. "But for those who didn't make the cut, don't worry. There are plenty of other opportunities for you to shine. But let's not worry about that for now. It's time for the REAL fun to begin." She licked her lips in anticipation, getting shivers from some of the students. "The next event will push all of you to the limelight and against one another!" The R-Rated Heroine then pointed to the screen, which began randomly choosing the next event of the Sports Festival. "Prepare yourselves for the next event…" The screen then stopped, showcasing the words that will lead to the next event.
"Cavalry battle!"
"Cavalry battle?" Kaminari questioned in confusion.
"Sheesh, they think we're in middle school again?" Mina commented with her hands on her hips, not really thrilled about this next event.
"Let me explain the rules." Midnight stated as the screen then changed to show All Might in the sent of a small circle, with Present Mic, Eraserhead and Thirteen. "you must form teams of three or four players. They must consist of one rider, at least one horse, and one knight. The horse's role is to help carry the rider wherever they may wish. The knight will be the only player allowed to use their Quirks to attack other teams' knights and horses – BUT! They are not allowed to unlink hands with the horse, so choose wisely. Finally, the rider is the captain of the team and will dictate strategy and movement. He may use his Quirk, but only against other riders. Should a knight attack a rider or vice versa, that entire team will be disqualified!"
Small chatter filled the forty students who remained in front of the stage.
"Excuse me, Miss Midnight?" Iida asked, raising his hand. "What exactly will the riders be fighting for?"
Midnight smiled and licked her lips.
"These!" She said, lifting up a white headband. "Each of you received a number of points based on the position you finished in the obstacle course, going up by five points from the bottom up. The amount of points on your team will be added up based on the individual points of each team member. BUT! The points awarded to the contestant who finished in first place is TEN MILLION POINTS!"
Everyone all looked at Gohan's placement… only to gasp at his point value.
1. Son Gohan: 10,000,000 points.
"Aw crap baskets"
