Promise

"Hard day?" Harvey asks, seeing her entering his condo.

"Awful," Donna snorts.

He walks towards her and sweetly kisses her. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Harvey asks, looking at the signs of tiredness on her face.

"Not really." She sighs and approaches him, looking for a hug. She lazily surrounds his body, passing her arms below his. Harvey responds by wrapping her by the shoulders and kissing her on the cheek before finishing approaching her. "I don't wanna talk about the firm, I prefer this." She whispers.

Harvey smirks and holds her tighter, feeling her body relax as he rubs his hands down her back. "What do you want? A bath? Dinner? Go to bed?"

"Just hold me a little longer."

"Is something else wrong?"

"No."

"Sure?"

She nods. "It's just that I'm used to dealing with bad days alone and I like being able to relax with you."

"You're never going to have to spend a bad day alone again."

"Do you promise?"

Harvey separates just enough to look at her. "I promise." She smiles shyly and hides her face on his neck. "It's ok..." He murmurs. "Even the great Donna Paulsen can have a bad day and be vulnerable."

"When did you learn to read me?"

"I've been with the best teacher for over 12 years."

She giggles. "I find it hard to show myself like this, sorry if..."

"Hey..." Harvey makes her look at him. "You don't have to apologize, it's something that is hard for us both and we're trying. Right?"

"Yes," She smirks and Harvey takes her by the chin to kiss her. "I'm afraid you can read me like that."

"Welcome to my world!" He says laughing and she laughs too.

"Okay, I'll take it. I did it for many years."

"You keep doing it." He hugs her again and whispers in her ear. "And I don't want you to stop doing it."

She smiles. "Ok... I won't stop doing it."

"Do you promise?"

She smiles and pecks his neck. "I promise."

"Good..." He kisses her cheek. "How about you take off your dress while I order ice cream and get into bed to eat it?"

She suddenly separates from him and puts on a puppy face. "Chunky Monkeys."

"Deal."

"You hate it."

"I can make the effort..."

"Can you?"

"I can eat bad ice cream if that means snuggling up in bed and eating from the same jar."

"Are you going to order just one?" She says frowning on her face.

"I thought it was romantic to share it."

"Mhm... Maybe."

He giggles. "I can ask for more than one and if you want more later, we look for it."

She leaps with happiness and kisses him. "You're the best!" He kisses her again and heads to the room.

"Eating that shitty ice cream is worth more than a kiss."

"You know I pay my debts very well." She says, spinning to wink at him.
