At a secret location in Hosu
All for One's pov
"You've chosen a good successor to All Might." I say to myself. I just finished watching the fight between All Might's successor and Endeavor's child and it was quite a show. Right when the fight ends, my loyal servant, , walks into the room. "How is Tomura's recovery?" I ask. "His lungs were crushed badly, but I managed to heal them to the best of my ability…but." Ujiko stops speaking. "But what?" I ask, nervous. "He will have to use a respirator for the rest of his life." Ujiko answers.
"I see." I say in a threatening tone. "Master, what are your plans now that Tomura is basically a cripple now?" Ujiko asks. "I don't know." I answer. "This wasn't meant to happen. I thought Tomura could control his anger, but now he has made Garou an enemy and now has to use a respirator like me." I say. "But I'm more worried about Garou." I say. "How so?" Ujiko asks.
"I, at first, didn't think of him as much of a threat, until the news about him being quirkless was released." I answer. "You think he'll start his transformation soon." Ujiko says, figuring out my fear. "Indeed." I confirm. "You've lived as long as I have and know the danger he can pose." I say. "He surely can't be that strong." Ujiko says in denial. "He fought All Might on equal footing and would have won if All Might's successor didn't interfere. And fighting All Might is no easy task." I say as I rub my scarred head. After my last battle with All Might, he destroyed not only my lungs, but also half of my face and left me with no eyes or nose. Those wounds would have killed me if I didn't have the super regeneration quirk.
"We must find Garou before he begins his transformation and kill him." I say. "And if he does transform?" Ujiko asks. "Not even I nor All Might would be able to stop him." I say. "Perhaps I can be of assistance." A mysterious voice says. "Who's there?!" I yell as both Ujiko and I look around frantically.
We hear a buzzing sound coming from the darkness and a small bug-like creature appears. The creature has an insect's wings, eight small legs, and the entire body just a big eyeball. "Who…What are you?" Ujiko asks, nervous. "I'm Gyoro Gyoro, or as you know my kind as, a monster." The creature known as Gyoro Gyoro answers.
"A what?!" I ask in shock. "Impossible, your kind were all wiped out a century ago!" Ujiko yells in denial. "That's what everyone thought, but I survived and I am the last monster." Gyoro Gyoro says. How could one have survived and what did he mean by assisting us? "What do you mean by assisting us?" I ask the creature. "Simple, like you I wish to destroy the Hero Society, but I am merely one monster and I am unable to do it alone." Gyoro Gyoro answers. "I require allies and you're the closest I can get." Gyoro Gyoro explains.
"And how will helping you benefit me?" I ask, skeptical. "Your nomus are quite impressive, but from what was shown at the USJ they don't stand a chance against the likes of Garou or All Might." Gyoro Gyoro says. "Don't you dare insult my creations!" Ujiko yells. "I'm simply stating the obvious." Gyoro Gyoro says. "However, I have a key ingredient that can make them more powerful." Gyoro Gyoro says. "And what would that be?" I asked, curious.
"Monster cells." Gyoro Gyoro answers. "Why would we allow you to turn my creations into freaks like you?!" Ujiko asked, angrily. "Think about it, with my monster cells and your nomus combined, we could take over not only this country, but the world." Gyoro Gyoro answers. Hm, his offer does seem beneficial, but he could be lying. "If we do make an alliance, what do you gain from this?" I ask. "The chance to avenge my race and destroy the heroes." Gyoro Gyoro answers.
"However I do require a key component to create more Monster Cells." Gyoro Gyoro says. "What is it?" I ask. "I need Garou, alive." He says. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Garou will be eliminated before he can pose a threat." I say. "Yes, but he is a critical component to making Monster Cells." Gyoro Gyoro says. "Why?" I ask. "That is for me to know." Gyoro Gyoro answers. "However, with my psychic abilities, I could sway him to our side. If you agree to the alliance." Gyoro Gyoro says.
I give it some thought. I know I shouldn't trust him, but this could be the edge we need. I will simply use him and when he is of no use anymore, I'll kill him. "Very well. I agree with your alliance." I agree to his alliance. "But Master—" Gyoro Gyoro cuts Ujiko off. "Excellent. Now just find and bring me Garou and all of my knowledge is yours." Gyoro Gyoro says with delight as he flies away. "Why did you agree?" Ujiko asks. "Because, Doctor, our resources are low and this could be the edge we need. But rest assured, I will deal with that monster when he is of no use to me." I say with a smirk. "Send a few nomu to look for Garou and bring him here." I order Ujiko. He nods and runs to release a few nomu.
In the afternoon on a rooftop
Bang's pov
"We've been searching for days, but in the end all we accomplished was disposing of some criminals." Bomb says as we overlook the city as the sun was setting. He is not wrong. We've been searching the past few weeks and we haven't found Garou yet. "A question for you." Bomb says, getting my attention.
"In the midst of all of this panic and chaos, is it possible that some hero or criminal got to Garou?" Bomb asks. "No that's not what happened brother." I immediately put down his theory. "Garou is many things, but weak is not one of them." I explain. "I trained him. That's why it's my responsibility to defeat him." I say with sorrow in my voice.
Garou, do you know what it means to become a monster? If you're going down into darkness…I may have no choice but to put you down. I turn to my brother and say, "Let's rest for the night, then we'll try again tomorrow." Bomb nods as he heads off.
The next day at Garou's Shack
Garou's pov
"Huff…huff…" My fever is starting to go away, but I had to close my wounds again after escaping the Sports Festival, so I'll have to stay out of the field for a little longer. I swear I'm going to make you pay for putting me in this condition, All Might. Suddenly the door to my shack opens.
"Who's there?!" I yell. I get up and jump over the railing and land in front of a kid. "What are you sneaking around for?" I ask, threateningly. "Uh, listen. This shack… i..it's my secret base so—", "Hey, wait." I cut the kid off when I see who it was. "You're that kid from the park." I say, remembering him.
"Huh? Oh it's you Mister Garou." The kid, Kota if I remember correctly, says. "I thought I told you to stop calling me Mister." I say as I kneel down to his level. "Why are you here?" I ask. "Oh, we'll uh…I just came here to clear my head." Kota says. Oh, it's one of those days. "I don't want to sound rude, but… could you maybe leave?" Kota asks, nervously. "What? Why are you telling me to leave? I'm trying to rest up here." I say.
"Well, this is the place I always come to if my aunt just gets on my nerves and I would like it back, please." Kota says. He lives with his aunt? Why not his parents? "Why do you live with your aunt and not your parents?" I ask. Kota stops and looks like he is on the verge of tears. "Their…their…their gone." Kota says as he cries a little bit. That's why. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up a touchy subject." I apologize. "It's okay." Kota says as he wipes his tears away.
"So, what did you argue with your aunt?" I ask, seeing if I could help a little with his problem. "Well, she got angry after I insulted some heroes today." Kota answers. "She keeps telling me that she and other heroes are trying to protect the people, but I think it's just because they want to show off." Kota explains. "Ugh! And no matter what I do she is always treating me like I'm a piece of glass! I don't always need her or other heroes around me constantly!" Kota finally finishes his rant.
I think I get it. He wants to take care of himself, but the heroes won't let him. I get up from my kneeling position and speak. "Let me give you a piece of advice, kid." I say, getting his attention. "It's about getting respect from others." I inform him. "Huh? What is it?" Kota asks.
No one's pov
Outside of Garou's Shack, Kota's aunt, Shino Soski aka the hero Mandalay, is walking towards the shack to comfort Kota. "I was too harsh. I hope he won't hate me." Mandalay says to herself. "Standback, Mandalay." A voice says to her. She turns to see Gunhead (Quirk: Gatling) walking towards the shed. "Gunhead what are you doing here?" She asks in a surprised voice.
"Garou is inside that shack." Gunhead explains. "And we're here to bring him to justice." Another voice says as she turns and sees 7 more heroes. Manuel (Quirk: Water manipulation), Edgeshot (Quirk: Foldabody), Rocklock (Quirk: Lock Down), Deatharms (Quirk: Strength enhancement), Shooter (Quirk: Poison), Snipe (Quirk: Homing), Midnight (Quirk: Somnambulist) are all present. "Wait, Kota may be inside!" Mandalay yells. "Unlikely. Garou would have scared him off." Edgeshot says. "Let's go, this is a waste of time. Let's finish Garou quickly. I have an interview to get to." Rocklock says in a cocky tone. "No! Not until we know Kota is…is…" Mandalay couldn't finish since Midnight uses her quirk to put her asleep and she falls to the ground.
"Finally, she shut up." Deatharms says, cruelly. "Let's just get this done." Shooter says. "Today we bring in Garou and finally get the credit we deserve." Gunhead declares. "He's wounded right?" Rocklock asks. "Yes, which will make it easier for us." Gunhead confirms.
Garou's pov
I sit down at my table as I give Kota my advice. "If you want respect, if you don't want to be bossed around. Then you gotta get strong." I say. "What?" Kota looks confused. "That's it. Some pretty good advice, huh." I say with a smirk. "No, I mean that's pretty obvious." Kota says. Shit, he's right. I slam my fist into the table, trying to come up with an excuse for the obvious advice. "Yeah, it is obvious, so you can remember it easier. Hehe—*cough*!" I cough from laughing. "Damn, even laughing hurts." I say, clutching my side.
"Are you alright Mi—I mean Garou?" Kota asks me. "Don't worry about me." I reassure Kota. "Listen, you should go home." I say. "Oh, okay." Kota sounds disappointed. He walks to the door, when I stop him. I can sense the heroes. They're all around us. "Wait." I say, grabbing his shoulder. "Stay here for a bit, there is something dangerous outside." I say, not telling him there are heroes outside.
I get Midoriya's journal to try and get an idea of who I'm up against. "What's outside?" Kota asks. "Just stay here." I say, looking through the journal. I walk up to a wall and look through a hole in it to see the heroes right outside. "Out front: 4. In back: 2. And one on each side. 8 in all." I say quietly so Kota can't hear me. Ordinarily, taking them out would be easy, but with these injuries. Luckily this journal has useful information. "GAROU!" Gunhead yells. "Hey, who is outside?!" Kota asks, scared. "Stop talking!" I yell. I'm out of time!
"No point in hiding, Hero Hunter! We know you're in there!" Gun head yells again. "Turd, get down on the floor." I say as I hand him the journal. "Alright, I'm coming out! Hold your fire!" I tell the heroes as I open the door and walk out. "Listen, don't shoot up the place." I say, shutting the door behind me.
"Aren't you a sweetheart? You giving up?" Midnight asks with a lustful grin. "Don't be stupid. I just need somewhere to catch some sleep once I'm done hunting you bastards down." I say with a smirk. "After you hunt us down?" Deatharms asks, pissed. "Don't fall for his taunting, Deatharms." Gunhead says, defusing Deatharms. "He's obviously in bad shape." Gunhead says, noticing my bandages.
"We'll take him down and ship him to Tarturus. Get him to tell us about his motives and give up any accomplices." Gunhead says. "Typical hero playbook. Very kind of you to catch me instead of going for the kill." I say, mocking him.
"Oh, you won't get off easy. You'll have to pay." Gunhead informs me. "We're going to make you regret ever calling yourself a monster." Deatharms says, getting ready for a fight. "You've got it backwards. You'll pay for calling yourselves heroes!" I say as I jump to the roof of the shack. I stand up and breathe in deep. "TIME TO HUNT! YOU DIPSHITS ARE GONNA PUT ME OVER A HUNDRED KILLS!" I scream, starting the battle.
"This is the end of the line for you!" Snipe yells as he shoots at me. I dodge and jump to a nearby tree. "I don't think so. You're going down first!" I yell as I leap off the tree at Snipe. Suddenly, a large spear charges at me, but I dodge in midair. The spear just cuts my cheek and it turns back into Edgeshot. That was pretty close. I don't think he was trying to take me alive.
I then notice a bunch of arrows falling from the sky. "Arrow rain!" I yell, recognizing Shooter's attack. I dodge them and jump out of the way. "Arrow rain is my secret technique, how did he know?!" I hear Shooter yell. Those are poison arrows. Good thing I had the journal.
"Despite the odds, he's not backing down. Is this Hero Hunter just a fool?" Midnight asks Manuel. "No Midnight. He went head to head with All Might and almost won." Manuel says. "I assure you, Garou is no fool." Manuel says. "Remember what we discussed about him." Manuel says to Midnight. "Never underestimate him. I'll keep that in mind." Midnight says in a cocky tone.
"Now let's see how he likes this!" Midnight yells as she throws her whip at me. I dodge, but then a boulder drops from out of nowhere. Must be Rocklock. I dodge a punch from Deatharms, only to be shot in the leg by Snipe. I dodge an attack from Edgeshot before trying to run, but Manuel gets in the way.
Midnight hits me with her whip, injuring me. Then, Rocklock uses the boulder from before to hit me, making me go back a few meters. Midnight uses her whip again, but I dodge this time. "He has crazy skills. No wonder he was Silverfang's top disciple." Rocklock says. "And he's no fool. His senses are frighteningly sharp." I hear Midnight say.
At middle distance, Midnight and Rocklock launch a ceaseless barrage of attacks. I dodge again as they both attack me. Snipe shoots at me, but I dodge and land on the ground, back first. I see an Arrow rain coming and dodge on the ground, but not without getting hit on the shoulder by two arrows. "Got him! Two hits!" Shooter informs the others.
But if I back off too far, I'm in Shooter and Snipe's field of fire. With Gunhead at the ready. Hey, what's Manuel been up to all this time. I see Manuel picking up Shooter's arrows and tossing them to Shooter. He's here as support. That explains why he's keeping his distance from me. In that case. I rush towards Manuel. "You're gonna be my meat shield!" I yell as I go to grab him, but he jumps back. "Get back here!" I yell. Snipe then shoots at my foot, but misses. Damn, I can't let my guard down for a second. Their relentless. I go for Manuel, but he dodges my attacks and jumps back. "Little shit!" I yell, annoyed.
"Just in case you were wondering, it's my job to chase you down if you try to run." He tells me his purpose. "In terms of stamina and persistence, you won't beat me. You're wounded and poisoned and won't hold up much longer." Manuel says. "But, close combat is for the other heroes." He says as Deatharms and Edgeshot got in front of Manuel.
They've got me surrounded. And I don't have the legs to break through them. And with the shape I'm in, there's no way I can hope to avoid all their bullets, arrows, and other weapons. "This is your last chance, Garou." Gunhead says.
