Chapter 3: Love at First Fall.

Chadbunger: I liked the bit with Foghorn a lot. It was like something straight out of Loony Toons. made me laugh. great story as always Dragon and co.

ThermalsniperN7: Thanks, dude.

Dragon Emperor0: Yeah. What he said.

Review dude 357: I know there was only a half moon out when the construction crew came to the ranch, but did any of them see Meg? No doubt a big shark-woman is going to be a hell of a thing to ignore. If one of the construction workers were to talk about her around town, they might attract the attention of secret government agents that will come to the ranch with the intent to take Meg and experiment on her.

Maybe John could pull some strings with the governor to get Meg protected by the state of Texas from the federal government or even trade the dinosaur for Meg's safety.

P.S.

Be on the lookout for old rich guys that will want to buy the dinosaur for some kind of Jurassic Park. It never ends well, unless the family gets a say in how the park is run.

ThermalsniperN7: Breaking this down; First, the only way the government would find out is if someone leaks evidence of her existence, and the family is pretty serious about their oaths of silence. They're ironclad. As for the construction workers, they'll have been called off at the last minute in response to Khamsin waking up. Arthur and Meg were leading the others to scout it out to make sure nothing happened… We all know how that went.

As for John Hammond showing up… We're bouncing that around.

Dragon Emperor0: Additionally we're trying to make sure that the drama in these early chapters are at a very close minimum. So I don't think anything like that would happen, at least not for a while, anyway.

-Crossbones Ranch, early morning-

It had been a couple of weeks since Arthur took Meg on her first dig, and the same amount of time since the family found their first live dinosaur, Khamsin the Appalachiosaurus. Things had definitely gotten more interesting in that time, especially since having dinosaurs around would be a big help in dealing with the wildlife around the ranch.

Particularly, the small overpopulation of deer and coyotes. There was also a wild hog infestation that was tearing up the fencing, and an abundance of smaller animals causing issues for the cattle. Suffice to say, having dinosaurs around would get things back in order.

Speaking of Khamsin, the adolescent theropod was currently sleeping under a tree as the sun began to rise, causing him to snort as he turned his back to the ball of luminescent gas and went back to sleep.

This, unfortunately, couldn't be used by Megaera and Arthur as they too soon felt the sun on their faces—and soon heard the crowing of their resident natural alarm clock, Foghorn.

"Grrr… Why can't we just sleep the day away…" The shark woman growled groggily as she reluctantly woke up.

"Tell me about it…" Arthur groaned as the two of them got up.

The two had seemed to have gotten used to sharing a bed together, to the point where they weren't even flustered by it anymore and even huddled together under the covers regularly.

But as the days and weeks went by, Megaera could feel a certain itch at the back of her head when she looked at Arthur every morning when she woke up next to him or in his arms.

And she knew it was associated with her instinct to find a suitable mate and bond with him for life. An instinct she'd suppressed in her pursuit of vengeance against Pete. She'd lost several opportunities to mate and spawn off offspring due to this.

Now she had another, and Meg wasn't wasting it.

As they got dressed, the two of them decided to go over what would be done for the day.

"So what's the plan for today?" The blue haired woman questioned as she pulled off her pajama shirt, causing her G-cup rack to bounce free while she tried to get it into a clean bra—her bare back being turned to Arthur, but the young man could still see the outline of her bosom and its cream colored under flesh.

"We're gonna head for Devil's Drop and see if we can find any fossils there." Arthur replied as he got a clean shirt on. "It's a long way to the bottom, so we're gonna need some climbing gear." He added.

"Okay, what else?" Meg asked as she shimmed out of her pajama pants, exposing her peach shaped ass, gorgeous thighs, long legs and stoutly muscled tail—allowing her to pull on a matching pair of panties.

"Well, we'll also be making a few stops at a couple smaller sites I know that are on the way to see if we can find… Anything." He continued as he buttoned up his shirt and turned to face her as she was about to get her clothes—seeing her in her Victoria's Secret underwear. "Wow." He uttered, absolutely loving what he was seeing. "You're… Gorgeous." He said without really thinking, but also without hesitation.

"I know I am." The shark woman smirked, having long since decided to own her looks rather than feel flustered about comments she received about them.

Deciding to sew the seeds of desire into Arthur's mind so that he'd want her, Meg sashayed over to the young man and let him watch her ample assets jiggle and bounce with every step, before she pulled him close with her tail before licking him on the tip of his nose, causing him to cover said area in surprise.

"Wh-what was that for?" He stuttered, surprised as Meg dressed herself in a pair of cut off jean booty shorts, a flannel over shirt that she tied into a crop top, a cowgirl ten gallon hat, and a pair of boots, a bandanna around her neck.

"Oh, no particular reason." The shark woman shrugged as she walked out the doorway. "I was just marking my territory." She added with a flirtatious wink before swatting the door closed with her tail, leaving the man alone.

"... That woman is a whole other level of confident." Arthur sighed as he put on the rest of his clothes.

(Later)

After the two had their breakfast, they went out to the first of the shortstop dig sites, which was a shoreside site at the bank of the Ammonite River, specifically a cliff side where Arthur had found a completely intact skeleton of a Dolichorhynchops.

As they started to try and remove the skeleton in small sections so that they could properly plaster it for transportation, Meg was in the process of trying to get the back flippers handled—when her foot slipped out she was nearly sent rolling down to the river below.

"Whoa, there!" Arthur exclaimed as he caught her by her hand. "You okay?" He asked, helping her regain her footing.

"Y-Yeah." The shark woman nodded as she got settled again, and soon realized that she and Arthur were still holding hands. Not the kind of hold that they had when she slipped, but now their fingers were laced together

"Uh…" Arthur gulped as he looked down and saw his hand holding Meg's hand.

"I'm certainly not complaining." Meg commented as she shrugged nonchalantly. "Anyway, back to the fossils?" She asked as she let go of his hand for the time being.

"Yeah." The brunette nodded as they continued getting the fossils out of the mountain side, before moving on to mixing the plaster mixture and soaking sheets in it to cover the fossils with–Meg flicking some of the solution at Arthur with her tail, getting some on his face.

The brown haired man just gave her a flat look before flicking some onto her own face, causing her to giggle. They didn't bother doing anything else goofy with the solution after that since they really needed it for the fossils.

That didn't stop Meg from (purposely) teasing him, though.

(Later)

The second digsite was a small cave at the left corner of a pentagon shaped plot of land further in the back, south of Ammonite River. It was a spot where the youngest Morgan had found a large collection of Ice Age era herbivore skeletons, and a very large skeleton of an American Lion, specifically one that was twice the average size for the species.

He'd taken to calling this specimen Mufasa.

The cave was lit up by standing and hanging lamps, and the young man had already gathered the majority of the bones in labeled bags marked with what species the bones came from and what type, which left only a few skeletons left, including the skeleton of Mufasa.

"Man, this place really is abundant in fossils. Has it always been like this?" Meg couldn't help but wonder.

"Yeah, though I'm the first one in the family to start digging them up." Arthur replied as he put another bone in a bag. "If there's one thing this family won't allow on this ranch, it's the construction of oil fields." He added. He knew there was bound to be a huge-ass reservoir of oil beneath the surface with all the fossils around, but the family refused to let oil companies on their land in order to keep the ecosystem intact for their cattle and local game.

"Why not just tap the oil yourselves?" The shark woman questioned. "I mean, if you guys can get the equipment, you can control where the pumps go and keep it from areas that are important for your local ecosystem, but still get to the oil." She continued. "Then you can sell it yourselves to the highest bidder. Make the Oil Companies come to you for a change." She added.

That made Arthur stop and think for a moment. She did make a good point; If the pumping equipment was located as far away as possible from the cattle and livestock, then the ecosystem they lived in would remain intact. It would also give them a means to flip the script and make the oil companies come to them, It was definitely sound.

"I'll have to get my dad's input on this, but this could work." The young Paleo nerd nodded.

"Always happy to help!" Meg smiled as she helped bag up the last of the bones, before kissing Arthur on the cheek as they left the cave.

That caused the man to blush yet again.

(Later)

The third and final small site for them to check before reaching Devil's Drop was a plateau that Arthur marked as a good spot with an abundance of Jurassic and Cretaciuos period fossils. Currently, he was excavating a skeleton of a considerably rare member of the Ceratopsian family, the Torosaurus.

It looked like a Triceratops, basically, but what made it different was the subtle absence of bone ridges on its frill, the size of said frill being much larger. Its two horns were also longer and a bit more straight, and it was larger than its more common cousin.

So far Arthur was able to find around 70% to almost 80%, meaning he had a nearly complete skeleton.

"Part of me hopes we can find a living specimen that's in Khamsin's state when we found him." The shark woman commented as she helped her human friend dig up the rest of the skeleton. "Seriously, this was a big fella, and I wanna see what they were like in their prime." She added.

"Careful what you wish for." Arthur told her with a shudder, having a slight PTSD flashback to when Khamsin first burst out of his amber prison.

"Oh. Right." Meg winced, catching his expression and the cause behind it. "So after this, we'll just call the guys to come pick everything up and bring it back to the main house?" She questioned.

"Yep. And while that's going on, we'll be exploring Devil's Drop." The young man nodded.

"Let's hope it's fun." The ex-Maneater remarked as the two got up after plastering the fossils. However, she didn't account for the fact that her legs had fallen asleep from having been kneeling and lying on her side the whole time, causing her to stumble and fall almost dramatically into the brunette's arms.

Arthur let out a surprised yelp as he caught her, which unwittingly ended up turning into an embrace. This caused the two to look into each other's eyes, both finding themselves lost in the eyes of each other. They actually started leaning in to kiss, but before their lips could connect, the sound of a rock hitting the ground snapped them out of their trances.

"Hehehe, sorry. Weak ankles." Meg chuckled nervously as she tucked her hair behind her ear, giving Arthur a nervous smile.

"Yeah, um, I can relate." Arthur admitted, letting out an awkward cough. "... I'll put in a call so the fossils can be picked up." He added as he broke the embrace and pulled out his phone.

"Yeah, right." The woman nodded as she turned away, her face bright red as she realized what just happened and how she'd handled it. 'Weak ankles?! Seriously?! Where'd that come from?!' She thought, wanting to smash her head in against the nearest tree for that whole thing.

(Later)

After a lengthy hike, the two finally arrived at their destination for the day, Devil's Drop. A megalithic, cavernous maw that lay open in the ground, ready to swallow anything that fell in. Crystals, sharp rocks, stalagmites and stalactites lined the walls and floor, giving it the appearance of the yawning abyss of the mouth of a real demon.

"Well… This doesn't give off 'entrance to Hell' vibes at all." The mutant remarked sarcastically as she looked over the drop from the top of the cliff.

"True. It's also one of the largest mineral and metal deposits in the state. Rubies, emeralds, sapphires, diamonds, gold, platinum, silver, iron, you name it—there's deposits of it down there." Arthur nodded as he put on his spelunking harness, and then turned to helping Meg with hers.

As he did this, the young man slid his arms around his sea wolf companion, his hands gliding across her clad frame and helping her get around putting on the tricky piece of equipment, though his carefulness to touch her more personal areas didn't really help to diminish the very romantic vibe the situation gave off.

He also failed to notice Meg's blush as he got the rig fastened to her.

"There. That should keep everything secure." He nodded as he disengaged the hug they were in. "Is it too tight?" He asked.

"A bit around my waist and chest, but it's not that big of a deal." The shark woman shrugged in reply.

"Alright. Now just follow my lead and watch your footing." The paleo nerd nodded as he secured their ropes before he went down first, Meg following soon after.

The shark woman was a little nervous about rappelling down into a chasm like this. Had she still been a normal shark in the ocean, she wouldn't have to worry about falling. Here, though, there was a very real risk.

Suddenly, she realized just how easy she had it before she got her new look.

'I guess humanity doesn't have it as easy as I thought, in this case…' She mused, getting some perspective on human life.

"You doing okay up there?" Arthur called as the two continued to descend into the cavern below, both being sure to find footholds before making momentary stops.

"Y-Yeah… Just not used to this." Meg called back in reply as she slowly descended into the chasm.

"Trust me, I know how scary this can be." The man told her as he watched her descend, waiting in case she lost her footing.

"Alright, here I come…" The shark woman nodded as she continued to descend to meet her partner down at the bottom, and managed to do so rather well…

However, when she went to jump down from the last ledge (which was about a five to eight foot drop, the slick condensation that was on the cave floor caused her to slip, and start falling to where Arthur was standing.

"SHIT!" She yelled in panic as she fell.

"I got you!" The boy called as he ran to meet her, and managed to get there just in time to catch her in a bridal style grip, the shark woman quickly clinging to his neck as he caught her. "Phew, well, I'd say it was nice of you to drop in, but I didn't exactly mean that literally." He chuckled a bit nervously.

"Yeah…" The shark woman chuckled nervously in agreement… Right before noticing her current position. '... Fuck it. This day has been trying to get me to do this anyway.' She thought before she grabbed Arthur's cheeks. "Come here." She said as she kissed him square on the lips, sliding her tongue into his mouth as he became distracted by her sudden actions.

If it hadn't been for his muscle memory, Arthur would've accidentally dropped his sea wolf companion the moment she smooched him when his brain shut down for a split second.

Instead, he slowly put her down and pulled her close to him, hugging her waist from behind and kissing her back, his own tongue battling Meg's for dominance, moaning in bliss as he did so.

Due to not being used to tongue battles, Megaera was quickly defeated and could feel her new boyfriend's tongue exploring her mouth. Her tail was also wagging like a dog's due to excitement.

As the brunette was exploring his new lover's maw with his tongue and her body with his hands, he soon rested on her beautiful, plump ass, giving it a squeeze—which caused Meg to moan as her leg popped up from the euphoria she was feeling.

After a while, though, they separated for air and looked into each other's eyes.

"Two weeks… Two fucking weeks and somehow, I feel like you'd make an amazing mate." Meg breathed, unable to believe what she was feeling but unable to deny how good she felt.

"I know." Arthur nodded, picking her up by her legs and setting her down on a rock and having her sit in his lap while wrapping her legs around his waist. "If I'm being honest, I felt attracted to you from the first moment I saw you, but I didn't know how to handle it since I was pretty sure you wouldn't find me desirable, and because you were a mutant, I couldn't figure out how I felt." He added.

"Honestly, I thought I'd never get another chance like this." Meg admitted. "I turned away a lot of potential mates because I was too obsessed with Scaly Pete." She added, spitting out the name of her mother's killer like it was the worst curse imaginable. After taking a breath, she focused on her new paramour again. "Then I escaped Port Clovis and washed up here. You… Somehow, you're the best thing that's happened to me." She sighed, resting her forehead against his.

"So, does this mean you'll be moving on to another mate after me like other Bull Sharks? Or are you sticking around?" Arthur asked jokingly as he pulled her closer to him and started kissing her neck.

"Nah. That mutagen must've gotten rid of that part of me somehow. I'm all yours." The shark woman moaned, holding her boyfriend/future mate's head to her neck.

As Arthur kissed her neck, however, he caught a glint of something orange out of the corner of his eye.

"Huh?" He uttered, ceasing his kissing to look to his right in confusion.

"What's–... Oh." Megaera started to ask before looking where he was looking and spotted what he saw.

It was another large amber deposit, one that was a tad smaller than the one Khamsin was in before it shattered and he was freed. And just like him, there was another Appaalachiosaurus inside, preserved completely.

Now interested, the newly minted couple ceased what they were doing before and walked up to the new find.

"Shouldn't this be buried?" Meg questioned as she looked over the fossilized sap.

"Ordinarily, yeah." Arthur nodded as he got a good look at the dinosaur inside. "But being down here must've protected it from being covered up in dirt and such after the chasm formed." He added.

"Think we should try and get it pulled out of here?" Meg questioned.

"I mean, it's pretty much ours for the taking now, so might as well." The man nodded as he rubbed the smooth surface of the large object, having a strange feeling that the dinosaur in the amber was looking back at him. Almost like how Meg was when they found Khamsin.

"Might have to call in the crew for this. It's a long way up." The mutant remarked, looking up to the top of the cliff. "Unless it's lighter than it looks." She added idly.

"Might still need a crane either way." Arthur mused as he looked up at entrance to the cavern and then the large piece of amber in question. "Come on, let's see if we can find anything else in here before we decide to call it." He told her.

"Alright." The shark woman shrugged as they started exploring the cave.

After a while, Meg soon took notice of the sound of flowing water coming from deeper into the cave, prompting her to grab Arthur's hand as she dragged him towards the sound to investigate it. After a bit, the two came across an underground spring, something that brought a smile to Meg's face.

"Oh yeah, now this is what I need in my new life." She nodded as she looked around the spring.

"This is a nice find, actually." Arthur nodded as he pulled out his flashlight and shined it around… and found yet another glint of orange. "What the–? More amber?" He blinked as he made his way toward it, Meg following him.

As they got closer, they saw that the amber was preserving a pair of velociraptors (male and female), but that wasn't the most shocking thing. They already had a small nest!

"Well isn't this a lucky find." Meg noted as she looked at the smaller cluster of fossilized tree sap, circling it to get a look at the dinosaurs from the available angles..

"We'll get these guys moved as well. No sense in leaving them here anymore…" Arthur mused as he marked down the location for the crews to find the amber and for other future use due to the spring being there—but stopped momentarily when he saw that Meg was getting out of her climbing harness, and also getting undressed. "What're you doing?" He questioned.

"I haven't had a good swim in weeks. This spring is just what I ordered." She told him in reply as she took off her underwear, leaving herself naked before she jumped into the spring and swam around while Arthur just took a seat and watched as she had her fun.

Though getting to see his new lover naked definitely wasn't something he was complaining about either, and it was something Meg seemed to be aware of, as she soon popped up from the water like Ariel from the little mermaid, causing her hair to whip and her G-cup rack to bounce as she rubbed herself as a sort of mock bathing.

"Like what you see?" She purred as she rubbed herself down sensually, her plump and supple assets jiggling with every stroke and squeeze she gave them.

"... Honestly, yeah I do." Arthur admitted with a massive blush.

"Then what's stopping you from joining me? Don't you want to feel all this against you?" She questioned, squeezing her rack again—her nipples becoming erect due to the cold of the water and her tugging at them to help stimulate herself.

"I would jump in but…" The man trailed off, his tone turning embarrassed. "I… never learned how to swim." He confessed, causing his mutant girlfriend to freeze in her motions.

"… Would you like me to teach you?" She questioned, flipping her hair back as she slowly started sashaying over to the bank towards him, her lucious hips swaying hypnotically as her skin glistened in the natural light of the cave, allowing Arthur to see the barest outline of her womanhood as she walked.

"I'd… I'd like that, actually." Arthur admitted as his very naked shark mutant girlfriend stood in front of him.

Smiling, Megaera took her lover's hand in hers and slowly pulled him from the rock he was sitting on to the edge of the bank of the underground lake, before she began to slowly strip him of his clothes, starting with his button up shirt. After that came his shoes, then his pants and underwear.

Each garment was removed with seductive gentleness, with Meg even deciding to remove Arthur's boxers with her teeth before pulling him into the water, hugging him close to her body and letting purrs and moans as she felt her man's bare body against hers.

"Okay, this water feels really cold!" Arthur shivered, not used to being in cold water like this.

"Just hug me close, I'll keep you warm." The woman purred as she stroked his hair back with a tender hand. "Our body heat will warm you up." She added as she pulled him even closer to her, moaning as they entered a warm embrace in the water.

Sure enough, Arthur did feel his body warm up (or get low enough to where his body thought it was warm, hard to tell) in Meg's embrace. He was a bit worried that if he let go, he'd sink like a rock, though.

Though as he continued to copy what Meg was doing, those fears slowly fell away as he just continued to float and keep himself stable by moving his legs.

"Getting the hang of it now?" The woman asked him as she kissed him again, causing the brunette to moan as he kissed her back, this time losing the tongue battle and feeling Meg explore every inch of his mouth instead, proving she was the dominant one here, something he actually kinda liked.

Meg, meanwhile, was enjoying exploring his mouth as the two of them floated in the water. She made sure every inch was committed to memory, all the while her hands roamed his body.

As they pulled apart for air, Meg still had a hand gripping the back of Arthur's head, ready to kiss him again if she wanted to, while the two panted in exertion from the swimming and romance they were enjoying.

"Yeah… Yeah, I think I'm getting the hang of it." Arthur nodded as Meg pulled him close to where his head was resting on her chest before kissing him on the forehead.

"That's good." She smiled, looking down at him as he lay s'mored between her marshmallows, before smiling. "You know, this situation is kind of making me wonder who's the dominant one in this relationship." She mused, her smile turning seductive.

"I… Think I'd prefer that it be you." Arthur admitted with a blush.

"Aw, someone's a sub~." She cooed, kissing him on his forehead again. "That's fine with me. It just means that I can dote on you as much as I want." She smiled as she continued to embrace him, the brunette blushing as he started burying his face into her bosom in embarrassment, motorboating it.

For the most part, Meg just giggled as she ran her hands through his hair.

"I love you, my sweet little Arthur." The shark woman cooed as she kissed him on the forehead.

"I love you too, my dominant shark mistress." The paleo nerd breathed in reply as he held her close.

"Mistress… Mmm, yes. I like that." Meg nodded as she slowly moved her right breast to his mouth. "How about you call me that from now on?" She cooed, though it seemed as though her subliminal dominance evolution was starting to work again.

"... Only when we're alone." The man negotiated.

"Fair enough." The woman allowed.

"Thank you, mistress." Arthur said before he took the offered breast into his mouth, and began to suckle on it like a newborn baby would do to its mother—causing Meg to moan in bliss as she held him in place.

Not a bad day for the two of them, in all honesty.

(Later)

After their very romantic outing in the Devil's Drop cavern—and after marking the spot for possible future nights alone together—Arthur and Meg were now back at the main ranch and were in the process of sorting through all of the fossils they'd found. They were sent to either storage or Arthur's specialized cleaning shed.

"Wow. How long did it take you to come up with these steps to deal with fossils? Did you just look it up?" Meg asked, sorting through some of the fossils.

"It's just part of the method used by most scientists." Arthur explained as they worked on trying to separate the rock from the Dolichorhynchops skeleton from the Ammonite river site.

This was interrupted, however, when the trucks carrying the amber clusters finally arrived, allowing the Morgan family to see just what they had found that the two had been so tight lipped about.

"What the–?! There's more?!" Rip exclaimed in disbelief as he looked at the clusters.

"Yeah. We're thinking of bringing the other Appalachiosaurus to Khamsin's territory so he can hopefully help it get acclimated to its new home, and then we're dropping off the raptors in another more secluded spot so they can spend their time nurturing their eggs." Meg nodded.

"I wonder if we can try domesticating the raptors." Casey mused as he looked at the little dinos.

"Not sure that's a good idea, honestly." Arthur told him flatly. "It'd take a bit too long for us to get far enough to get them even slightly domesticated if we did things traditionally." He added.

"Yeah. The best we can do is make sure they know what to stay away from." Elanor nodded.

"I'll handle that." The shark woman told her. "For now though, let's get these guys situated so we can break them out." She continued, tapping the amber with her knuckles.

(Later)

After finding an ideal spot to release the velociraptors in the woods, Arthur and Meg set about freeing the raptors. Since their toe claws would be a major hazard, they agreed to back off the second they acted aggressive.

"Alright. On three." Arthur sighed as he readied his pick hammer and chisel. "One. Two.. Three!" The man exclaimed as he struck the chisel, causing the amber to crack and begin to fall apart, prompting him to backpedal away from it.

Moments later, the fossilized sap shattered and the raptors were free along with their nest. The two dinos fell to the ground, their brains offline due to being in stasis for so long. A couple of minutes later, however, they came to and shot to their feet, looking around wildly before their gazes settled on Arthur and Megaera.

They all crowed and snapped at them before the female of the pair quickly rushed behind the male and started checking the eggs, turning them over and making sure they were okay.

Looking at them they were really no larger than a dog, with feathers covering their bodies and their arms being held at the side, not very much like the velociraptors from Jurassic Park.

There were subtle differences in their body structures, however. The male was more stocky while the female looked more plump, which helped differentiate them.

After the two raptors realized that they and their progeny were not in any immediate danger, they seemed to calm down, the female sitting on the eggs while the male walked towards the two in front of him.

Since animal whispering was her specialty, Meg walked forward and met the male halfway.

"You've been asleep for a long time." She told him.

"How long?" The male asked, his accent sounding like it was a New York one in Meg's ears.

"Enough for the world to change completely." The shark woman replied. "Human's rule the world now." She added.

"And those are…?" The raptor questioned.

"I'll explain later. Think you and your mate will be fine here in these woods?" Meg asked.

"We'll be fine." The female spoke up, her accent sounding like that of an English woman, oddly enough.

"Alright then." The woman nodded as she stroked her chin. "Now what to call you two…?" She mused. Then she snapped her fingers. "Oh! Brooklyn and Victoria sound good for you." She chirped.

"Sounds alright to me." Arthur nodded.

The two raptors looked at each other and nodded, before turning towards the two humans and nodded again.

"Well then, I think we'll leave you two to it." Arthur nodded as he walked away.

"Enjoy your new home." Meg added as she followed her boyfriend.

(Later)

Khamsin narrowed his eyes at the second Appalachiosaurus in the giant cluster of amber, walking around it in an almost apprehensive and pensive manner, as if sizing the second dinosaur up.

He needed to know if he was going to have a fight on his hands, but at the moment, he didn't feel threatened since the other member of his kind was not roaming… yet.

"What are you about?" He growled. Then he picked up the scents of Meg and Arthur coming his way.

"Trying to figure out the new face?" The shark woman called as she and her human paramour approached.

"Ah'm just tryin' to see if there's gonna be a fight." Khamsin replied.

"Let's worry about that after we get this one out of here." Meg told him as she gave Arthur the thumbs up to break the amber, which he did with a well placed chisel strike.

Seconds later—the rock shattered, and the Appalachiosaurus tumbled to the ground. But this time, it's roar sounds… Softer than Khamsin's.

As the freshly freed dinosaur got to its feet, Arthur blinked as he glanced between Khamsin and the new Appalachiosaurus. Where the male dino looked bulky, this new one looked slim and lithe.

Based on that, the brown haired man was able to deduce this new dinosaur was female.

"This one's gotta be a female." He whispered to Meg.

"You think so?" She asked back.

"Yeah. If you glance between them, Khamsin looks bulky and the other one is slim." Arthur nodded. "Plus, the roar sounded softer compared to Khamsin's, so that's another indicator." He added.

As the two were discussing this, the two Appalachiosaurus were circling each other, examining one another and sizing each other up. After a bit, they close in on each other, their respective scents becoming more apparent.

Then… The female started to nuzzle Khamsin, who was more than a little put off by the act.

"What seems to be the trouble, my lord?" The female questioned in an accent that Meg could have sworn sounded Egyptian. "Am I not to your liking?" She asked.

"Um… Uh…" Khamsin stammered, unable to come up with a response. Luckily, Meg took pity on him and stepped in.

"Hold on, there." She interjected as she got between the female dino and Khamsin. "You just woke up, and you're making your choice of mate uncomfortable." She continued.

This caused the female dinosaur to slowly back off, allowing her male counterpart to have some breathing room to get his thoughts together. Then he slowly nudged her back, nuzzling her under jaw.

"Ah, that's better." The female sighed as she enjoyed Khamsin's attention.

'Hm… Khamsin has an Egyptian name, so… Aha!' The shark woman thought before snapping her fingers. "Does the name Cleopatra sound good for you, big girl?" She asked as the female dino turned her attention to the shark woman.

"Hmmm, I like that name. It does sound befitting one of my station." Cleopatra nodded as she affectionately nuzzled her mate, showing him the affection that was due to him as his mate.

"That's good to hear." Meg nodded before she turned and walked off. "We'll leave you be." She added as she went to her lover. "Come on, Arthur. Our job here is done." She told him.

"Yes, mistress." The brunette nodded as he followed her, and was dragged along by Meg who had his collar snagged by her finger.

Well, life on Crossbones Ranch certainly isn't boring.

Dragon Emperor0: And there. We finally have a chapter out for this story. Sorry it took so long, we just couldn't come up with any good ideas for the next chapter and just weren't all that motivated to write it up until now.

ThermalsniperN7: Writer's block is a total bitch like that. It'll put a lot of things on hold when it comes to this. Moving on; the Ranch just got some new dinosaur residents, and they could be a big help in dealing with some population and infestation problems.

Dragon Emperor0: And it would seem that Arthur and Meg didn't waste any time in getting together this chapter either, which they seem to be enjoying and not complaining about it, either.

ThermalsniperN7: That could be unintended rushing on our part, given how there was only a two week time skip. That's something I'm worried about, but I'll wait and see. In any case, I never realized Arthur couldn't swim. Meg teaching him certainly made for a good trust exercise, too.

Dragon Emperor0: Is it really rushing if they've been having nothing but chemistry the whole time? Besides that, it seems that Arthur is submissive… That's certainly interesting.

ThermalsniperN7: Still wondering if we should have John Hammond pay a visit to the ranch or not… Eh. We'll figure it out. Anyway, see you guys next time.
