(Yes, I'm still alive. I know it's been a very long time, but I finally got around to be able to work here. As long as those still around are still interested.)

After the first part of the Chunin Exams were complete, Naruto and his team, along with all the others were standing outside a large thick forest closed off by a fence. Standing before it was the instructor for the second half of it; Anko Mitarashi.

Hun gasped as he looked at the forest, "Incredible. What is it?"

"Looks like we're about to find out." Karai answered, as they listened to Anko address everyone present.

"Welcome, maggots, to the Forest of Death! This is where you'll be having the second half of the Chunin Exams!"

"Forest of Death?" Naruto asked.

"With a name like that, it probably lives up to its reputation." Karai suspected.

Anko overhearing her snickered, "Right you are, sweetie. And if you thought Ibiki's exam was hard, well you're about to have your minds blown. Listen up, for this part of the exams you will be participating in a game of 'Capture the Scroll'!"

"Capture he scroll?" Sakura wondered, as Sasuke and Sai were curious.

Anko held her hands up and a scroll poofed into each one. One was white and the other was brown, "Each team will be given one of two scrolls. A Heaven Scroll. Or an Earth Scroll.. And once you're released into the forest it'll be up to you to acquire the scroll you do not possess. To do that you will be forced to engage opposing teams."

"Finally, a chance to fight." Naruto said eagerly.

Anko continued, "In the center of the forest is the main building, and you cannot enter or go there until you have both scrolls with you. Only then you will be allowed to open your scrolls. Try opening them before you have both scrolls or before you reach the tower and let's just say the consequences will be dire." she smirked, sending shivers up multiple spines.

"And I thought Khan-sensei was intimidating." Hun whispered to Naruto and Karai who nodded in agreement.

"And a word of caution, this forest is home to many creatures, plants, and bugs that're both ferocious and deadly. One wrong move and you're dead," she continued, "To top if off you have a certain time limit to this whole stage. This part of the exam lasts for about five days, and if you don't make it to the tower as a whole squad when the time is up then your whole squad is out. And my final bit of advice, don't die!"

When the rules were finished, a member from each squad was taken to a booth shrouded by a curtain to receive a scroll. As Naruto was getting his teams scroll, Karai spoke to Hun, "They're giving our scrolls in secrecy."

Hun nodded, "Yeah. Because of that we won't know who has the scroll we're looking for. That's another twist to this challenge."

"And with so many teams present challenging one who has our scroll is low." Karai figured.

"Hey, guys!" Naruto called, as he approached them, "I have our scroll. Let's get going." the three went to the starting point they were instructed to start from.

Soon the gates flew open and all the teams entered. Naruto's squad got far enough from the entrance stopped behind a tree.

"Alright, what've we got, Naruto?" Hun asked.

Naruto pulled out their scroll, "We got us a Heaven Scroll."

"Which means we need an Earth Scroll." Karai noted.

"Well, it won't be easy," Hun reminded them, "Remember there are tons of teams in this forest with us. And they could have any of the scrolls."

"True," Naruto admitted, "So we need to pick carefully."

"So what's the plan?" Karai inquired.

Before Naruto could answer he froze much to their confusion, "Naruto?" Hun asked only to be shushed by him.

The two remained silent, as Naruto concentrated before whipping some shuriken at a bush making three figured jump out avoiding the projectiles. Dropping in before them were three ninja bearing the Foot Clan headband.

"Sharp as ever, Naruto." one of them began.

Naruto squinted, "Shinsho, Danny, and Freddy."

The one member named Freddy spoke, "Don't think because we're of the same village, we're going to take it easy on you guys. Especially against the children of our leader."

"We'd be insulted if you guys did." Karai smirked.

The two teams got ready as Naruto beckoned them forward. The opposing team attacked with Naruto fighting Danny, Hun against Freddy, and Shinsho against Karai.

Naruto and Danny engaged in hand to hand, before Danny tried to sweep kick Naruto, but the boy jumped avoiding it.

"Not bad." Danny admitted.

"Thanks." Naruto replied, as the two continued to exchange blows.

Karai and Shinsho drew swords and engaged with the steel from their blades clashing sending a bit of sparks from them.

"You know I always had a crush on you, Karai." Shinsho said, as they were at a stalemate with their swords.

"Gag me!" Karai responded, before pushing him away.

Hun fought Freddy who dodged the big boy's attacks, "All that muscle, Hun, and yet you're still slow!" Freddy mocked.

Hun smirked, as he spun around causing his muscular arm to ram into Freddy's back making him groan before collapsing, "Just because I have big muscles doesn't mean I'm slow." he replied.

"Noted." Freddy groaned.

Naruto and Karai teamed up against Shinsho and Danny together and the adopted sibs defeated the two knocking them right into Freddy leaving them all on the ground beaten.

Naruto checked their bags and found the scroll, but scowled seeing they only had a Heaven Scroll. He sighed, before putting it back, "This is your lucky day, guys. You don't have what we need."

"You're not taking our scroll?" Danny asked.

"It's not the one we need, so we see no point in it." Naruto replied.

"Take this as a chance to keep trying." Karai instructed.

"Here's seeing you at the end." Hun said, as the team took off.

The three hid by a big tree as Naruto spoke, "This just proves any team could have any scroll even the one we already have."

"So what's our next move?" Hun inquired.

Before either of his teammates could answer they heard a crashing sound from trees falling over, "What the?!" Karai asked.

"Something's up." Naruto said.

"Shouldn't we avoid it?" Hun asked.

"It could be another challenge." Karai noted.

"And another chance to get our scroll." Naruto reminded his friend.

"Good point." Hun shrugged. And with that the team took off.

They followed the sound of crashing before stopping in place and looked up seeing a big snake attacking Sasuke, Sakura, and Sai. Sasuke was using fire jutsu against the big creature while Sai was creating ink beasts to attack it.

"Is that one of the creatures that lives in this forest?" Hun asked in shock.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Hun. Look." Naruto motioned up to the giant reptile.

The two looked and saw someone standing atop the head of the giant snake as it dawned on them, "It's a summoning." Karai said.

"Uh-huh." Naruto confirmed.

"Do we help them, Naruto?" Hun asked.

"Well, there is no rule that says we can't help other teams during this portion of the exams." Naruto noted.

"And they look like they could use some help." Karai added, as Naruto and Hun agreed.

"Let's go!" Naruto said, as they headed close to assist Squad Seven.

(And that's the chapter. I know it's not much, but I learned chapters don't have to always be ridiculously long. The other three Foot Ninja were named after three members of the Foot in the live movies. Shinsho; the Foot ninja that Tatsu brutally attacks out of frustration over their failure to capture the Turtles. Danny; the son of Charles Pennington. And finally Freddy; the Foot spy that worked as part of April's camera crew. I will once again try to get back to these, but remember I can't do everything.)
