Chapter 11: Meanwhile Outside Veggie Land
IN THE MORNING, THE SAME DAY
"Good morning, Mayor."
A male shrimp in a green suit greeted the female fish, Crystal, who is none other than the Mayor of Barnfarlio!
"Good morning, Parcel. What's the status today?"
Parcel gets his clipboard out and reads the files, "Yes, the vegetables' plants are going to get fertilized and watered by our great farmers."
"Fantastic, sure wouldn't be Barnfarlio if it wasn't the sea's veggie land." Mayor Crystal states with a smile. "Ever since I was a child, our vegetables have always been the greatest."
"Indeed, all the pumpkins, tomatoes, asparagus, potatoes, corn, cucumbers, mushrooms, carrots… Just all of them! The best Barnfarlio has to offer!"
"But you know, Parcel, I feel like we could do more for our land."
"What do you mean, Mayor?"
"Well sure, the vegetables out in the fields are amazing but I believe we can do something exciting! Something no one ever expected to see out here in Barnfarlio."
"Like a museum?" Parcel guesses.
Mayor Crystal thinks about his suggestion for a moment. "Not bad, but I think that's a little overused for many other things."
"Mayor! Mayor!"
A female lobster in a purple suit arrives running and slipping on the floor in front of the two.
"Gabby, are you okay?" Mayor Crystal asks in concern.
Gabby stands up from the ground. "Oh yes, I'm fine. But we have a situation!"
"What is it?"
"The farmers can't get their work done!"
This causes Mayor Crystal and Parcel to become in shock. Never have they heard something like this.
"What?! Well, why not?"
"Apparently, there's a huge amusement park out in the middle of the fields called Veggie Land!"
"What?!" The two yell in unison.
"An amusement park? That's never part of Barnfarlio!" Parcel looks through his files. "Is it, Mayor?"
"No, this is the first I'm hearing of this." The mayor says as she thinks for a solution to all this. "Okay, for today, tell the farmers to only take care of the vegetables that are still in the fields."
"And what about the theme park?" Gabby asks.
"We'll get to the bottom of this later tonight!" Mayor Crystal responds. "Our vegetables are not to be mistreated, especially here in Barnfarlio!"

BACK AT THE CURRENT MOMENT
Still in Veggie Land, Gil stumbles upon the river that he and Oona sailed on with the Asparagus Ahoy.
His tail fin was getting tired but luckily for him, there was a bench so he could relax for a bit.
But one thing was on his mind, "Where is everyone?"
LIGHTS SWITCH OFF
"What the-?! Who turned out the lights?!"

A very short chapter today but we're getting close to the finale!
Of course, Mayor Crystal, Parcel, and Gabby are all my OCs for this story. Not to mention Barnfarlio is my original location-setting.
