Waking up was not a pleasurable experience, if the pain in her head indicated anything. To make it even worse as soon as she sat up she felt just how sore her neck was as well. She knew that the bandage would need to be cleaned so with a few groans she made her way to her bathroom to do just that. Standing in front of the mirror she couldn't help but cringe at her reflection in the mirror. She looked sickly, her skin was pale and clammy, she had dark circles and her eyes looked lifeless. She sighs and slowly peels off the bandage. Last night she had put away all of the things Carlisle had given her to take care of the wound, so everything she needed was right there in the bathroom. It only took about five minutes to clean and change the bandages.

She changes into clean comfy clothes and heads to the main house, to relax in the living room for a bit. The couch there was more comfortable there than in her own apartment. There was also more room for her to stretch out her still tired sore body. About an hour passes before she hears a knock at the door. With a groan she stands up to answer the door. Upon opening it, she sees Jacob and Billy in front of her, looking at her expectantly. Lillie breaks out of her shock and steps aside, making room for the father and son to enter into the house out of the room.

Lillie could not help but feel awkward with the situation she now found herself in. As Billy made his way past her she could see the sad sympathetic smile the man sent her way. She appreciated his effort at making her feel better but she knew that the conversation they were about to have was not going to be pleasant. She was already feeling like a battered punching bag, so how much worse could it really get. She closes the front door, and leads them to the living room, she takes her spot back on the couch and tells them to make themselves at home. She could not help but curl further into the corner of the couch, seeking the safe feeling of comfort it brings to her.

Jacob takes a seat in the armchair that sat next to the couch to her left. Billy had taken up a spot in front of both of them, she guessed so they could both see and hear him clearly. After they seemed to get comfortable Billy cleared his throat. "Where are your Aunt and Uncle? I thought they would be here too." She could tell he seemed relieved that they were not around, which Lillie could guess made sense, she didn't want them to know anything about what had happened to her.

"They went to Florida for a vacation. They're probably going to be back in around two weeks, but knowing my Aunt that might be extended." She had no doubt that at some point her aunt would call or text that they were going to be staying longer. There was a small part of Lillie that was hoping that they would. That way she would have more time to process and get all the crazy things under control.

Lillie looked at Jacob, he was sitting in a very odd uncomfortable looking way. From what she could see it looked as if he was trying to make himself look as small as he could, although with his huge frame, it more so made him look odd. Billy had probably given him quite the ear full when he had found out what had happened. It sounded like something that would make Jake act like he was. He was always that way, he would probably pout for a few days and then get over it.

With a deep breath Billy had begun to speak. "So, a lot has happened yesterday, I know that the Cullens have told you about who and what they are, and Jake gave you a brief explanation about the wolves." He gave Jake a pointed look, as if scolding him with his eyes. "I'm here to explain things further, tell you about the tribe legends, and as well as to answer any questions you might have. I'm sure you have quite a bit of things you are curious about."

Lillie sits up a bit from her position, sensing how serious the conversation was going to be. She could not help but ask "There's more to know? I thought Jacob pretty much covered it all, even just vaguely."

Billy shook his head "There is a lot more to know, trust me Lillie."

She sits back against the couch, feeling a little defeated. Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see Jake giving her a sheepish smile. Lillie could not help but feel a little irritated with him, she was dealing with the vampire stuff still and now she has to deal with this as well, all because he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.

Billy continued "I'll start with the legends, it's the easiest way to help you understand about the wolves, at least the origins. Then after that we can go through any questions that you might have."

Jacob leans back into the armchair, looking as if he was trying to get more comfortable. Lilllie assumed that he was used to hearing the legends. Which Lillie thought made sense, he had told her when they were younger that his dad told the legends at every big gathering, mainly for the little kids.

Lillie looked at Billy, an expectant look in her eyes. He looked a lot more serious than he usually does, it was making her a little antsy. It was as if he changed, the vibe in the room changed as well. It felt as if the air in the room was holding its breath, waiting for the older man to begin speaking.

Billy began telling her of the legends of the tribe. While he was speaking Lillie could not help but be transfixed. He had such a way of telling stories, it was like he was putting magic into his words. She could almost see the stories as he was telling them, his imagery was so good. She could not help but internally complement his story telling ability.

She noticed that every time Billy would mention the wolves, both past and present, that Jake would look around in an awkward sort of way. As if it made him uncomfortable hearing about them. Lillie could guess how he was feeling, it was probably odd to hear about something that you are.

When Billy was done, Lillie had to take a moment to herself to process what she had just heard. It was just so much. She had to internally admit that she preferred Billies explaining things than the way the Cullens had told her about them. Maybe it was just because she was closer to him than she was with any of the Cullens. Organizing her thoughts she decided to ask a few of the questions that first popped into her head.

"How many wolves are there right now?" She sat back up, looking anticipative for the answer. Jake didn't really give her specifics when he told her about them. Maybe Billy would actually tell her, at least now that she was in on the secret. Besides, it wasn't like she was a 'Cold one', and she wasn't likely to become one or associate more with them any time soon.

Billy looked at her in a pitiful way. "There are currently 17 wolves, we are hoping that that number will go down, this is the largest number of active wolves in our history. Hopefully with time, maybe we can get about half that number to stop phasing, at least the younger ones." He gave her a warm smile. "The wolves protect us from the cold ones, not just from the Cullens, but any others that might come around with unfriendly intentions."

Lillie could not help the pang of spite that went through her. Why couldn't the wolves be there for her when she needed them, when she was attacked by the very thing they were said to protect against. She took a deep breath, pushing that feeling away from what Billy had told her, there was no way for them to do that, it was way outside of their territory, and in the middle of the city.

She looked to Jacob, deciding to lead her thoughts away from that subject. "Does it hurt when you change shape?"

He shrugs his shoulders "It did a little bit at first, but as you phase more and more it gets easier and easier." She could not help but send him a sympathetic look. She could not even imagine having to go through that sort of thing.

After answering a few more of her more trivial questions. It was basic ones like what they looked like, are they self aware during wolf form, etc. Jacob and Billy answered all of her questions with no problem, they seemed happy to help her understand them more. The two made their goodbyes after inviting her to a gathering the tribe was having soon, saying they would love it if she came. Lillie had said she would think about it, but was not completely sure if she was going to go. After they left and she was left alone, Lillie spent about two hours just sitting silently on the couch, going over everything she had learned.
