Lillie had headed back to her room. She could not resist the urge she had to lay back down on her bed, feeling tired from the knowledge she had just learned. For a few hours she kept drifting in and out of consciousness, her head feeling foggy every time she was conscious, which only made it easier for her to drift back to sleep. Every time she was asleep she was plagued with more nightmares, the nightmares involved both the wolves and the vampires. Both seemed to be hunting either her or something she was not aware of.

When she was finally able to fully wake up she felt relief at the absence of the exhaustion that had plagued her earlier. Looking out her studio window she could see the shadows of the trees, and the stars peeking through dark clouds in the nighttime sky. The downside of having slept so long left her head pounding, she could not help but groan with annoyance. She was prone to getting these types of headaches when she would sleep longer than her norm. Which often involved any more time than 8 hours.

Pulling herself up and out of the warm cocoon her blanket and bed gave her she sluggishly makes her way to the big kitchen. Her small kitchenette was not as well stocked as the main house's kitchen and she did not really feel like having something heavy/unhealthy. Which is pretty much all that remained in her mini fridge other than beverages. Thinking of the goodies her aunt and uncle had no doubt left for her had her stomach grumbling in anticipation.

After making a sandwich, which consisted of the delicious ham her uncle had marinated and cut up, she grabbed some chips to go with her delicious concoction. Sitting at the island counter she started zoning out. Her mind is still going over what she had learned the past couple of days. She had almost processed it all which was a relief to her and her tired body. She had really been feeling over all the tiredness.

Her phone rings, and after a couple of fast chews she pulls it out of her pocket and presses the answer button. Her aunt's voice feels her ear and she smiles, happy to hear from the woman. "Hello Lilly bug how are you?" Lillie could hear the motherly tone in the woman's voice and it was a balm to her heart.

"I'm doing all right Auntie, It's a little more quiet than I am used to but I'm okay, so no need to worry over me." She did not dare to even mention anything that had actually happened, and how she was actually doing. It would send both her aunt and uncle into a frenzy.

"So what have you been up to without me and your uncle there to keep you entertained?" Lillie could hear her uncle in the back of the call laugh at her aunt's comment.

Lillie shrugs her shoulders even though she knows they can see her. "Oh you know just work and being home, although I saw Michael the other day, we got coffee and went to see a movie. Before you ask, he's doing good, studying and doing his thing." Her aunt chuffs halfheartedly.

"Well I am glad to hear that two of my baby birds are doing well. It's ni-MATT I SWEAR IF YOU DRINK IT ALL. She could hear her aunt and uncle bicker for a bit before her aunt speaks on the phone again. "Sorry to cut this short honey but your uncle is determined to drink an entire bottle of rum and I have to go stop him." They share a laugh and say their goodbyes.

Putting her phone on her charger in her room she lays down in bed and grabs her tv remote. Her aunt and uncle had pitched in for the smart tv that now was playing a random netflix movie for Lillie. If she wasn't working or doing something random she was usually in her room watching some random stuff. Most of the time the tv was on anyway, just to give her some background noise for whatever it was she was doing at the time.

She swore she had only closed her eyes for a moment, but the next thing that she knew, she was waking up to birds singing. Sighing as she sits up she rubs her face, looking around her room in a daze, still half asleep. Getting up from her bed she trudges her way to her bathroom. It did not take her long to go about her business and change her bandages.

Her neck was still a bit sore when she moved it around in certain directions but it felt a little better, all that rest was doing her some good. Right then she was actually just craving some fresh air after being cooped up inside for so long. The more she thought about it the more she wanted to. Mind made up she changes into clothes more suitable for outside.

On her way to the backyard she stopped to make some lemon tea and toast, not exactly hungry but knowing eating something would be good for her, even if it was something as simple as some toast. Sipping on her tea she sits down on their couch on the porch, flipping on their electric fireplace, wanting to be cozy without having to wrap up in a blanket.

After about twenty minutes of just enjoying the fresh air it begins to rain, unsurprisingly. Lillie did not mind though, the porch was covered, so she got to just enjoy the sound and the smell of rain. She could not help but relax even more, taking a moment to just be at peace in her environment. The whole scene around her made her past circumstances feel a bit less severe, she has had all this time to think things over and process.

It was a nice feeling to her, finally not in such turmoil about everything that happened. Yes, it was still crazy that vampires are real, that her best friend turns into a wolf. This was her new life now, knowing the truth about what's out there, and she was just going to have to accept it and move on.

It was while she took a bite of her now cold toast that she noticed the bushes at the edge of their backyard were beginning to move, like there was something in them. She could not help but hold her breath, her heart beating a bit more wild. Moving slowly she begins to rise off the couch, hoping to be able to get inside to safety without catching the attention of whatever is in their bushes. Vampires and wolves be damned, she still lived with the forest as her backyard, there were still bears and mountain lions to be worried about.

Her eyes still fixed on the bushes she watches a large brown wolf slowly creep out of the bushes. She froze, not out of fear, but out of confusion. The wolf's odd behavior is what made her utterly stupefied. It was scooting forward on all fours like a pet dog would. It was almost comical with how large it was.

It took her a few moments of watching the wolf to recognize it as the one she saw at Carlisle's house, which meant that the beast in front of her was Jake. Jake whines, as if he was in trouble, to make it even more of a sight he began to give Lillie puppy dog eyes. She couldn't help but snort at the whole act.

Jake takes the chance to scoot the rest of the way to the porch steps, his tail wagging, looking more like a house dog by the second. Lillie laughs again "You're Jake right, not one of the other shifters?" The wolf nods his head, which seriously looked odd on such a large creature. She unconsciously nods along with him, a habit that she picked when they were younger.

Shaking her head out of it she gestures to his wolf form "So are you going to stay like this, or are you going to change so we can have a conversation like normal people?" She couldn't help but let a little sass. It was nice to be able to joke with him again.

Jake nods, and stands up from his begging pose, before making his way to the bushes. Lillie could hear the leaves rustling quite a bit before her now human best friend made his way back to the porch. She was happy to see that he had come prepared with a change of clothes, although it seemed his change of clothes consisted of only shorts. He didn't even have shoes on, though thinking on it, that made sense, it would probably be hard to carry a change of shoes with him in wolf form.

Jake makes his way over and under the covering of the porch cover, he leaned against one of the support beams. She playfully glares at him "You know, you could have texted me that you were going to come over instead of giving me a heart attack."

He shrugs, like brushing it off "I didn't have my phone on me, not like I have a pocket to carry it around in, I usually just leave it at home or something."

Lillie shakes her head at him in exasperation "So what's up, what brings you by?" He was just there yesterday and she could not imagine much has happened since then that she would need to be informed about. Nonetheless she was still happy to see him, he was her best friend. She could not help but feel a little awkward around him, hopefully that feeling will pass as time went on.

He shakes his hair with his hands, she guessed to get some of the water out. That was a lovely gift that came with living where they did. He makes his way over and plops down at the other end off the couch. Even from a few feet away she could not help but notice how warm he was, it was like his body was a space heater filling the air around him with warmth. It was nice in this chilly weather so she did not feel like bringing it up.

Jake shrugs "Just wanted to come by and check on you, see how you were actually doing with everything going on. I know you tend to sugar coat things with my dad so you don't worry him." She sighs, he had a point that she could not deny. Billy was always so caring towards her so she never wanted to make him worry about her.

"I mean, I am okay, it was just a crazy amount of stuff to process. I'm pretty calm about everything right now with it all, but I most likely am going to be a little awkward with it all for a while until I am used to it." She laughs. "Vampires are real, my best friend turns into a giant wolf, it's definitely quite a bit to get used to."

He hums in agreement "Yeah, I get that, it took me a while to be comfortable with all this and I was living it all." He gestures around and to himself. Then he playfully nudges her arm "But hey, i'm still the same jake, i'm still going to always be there for you no matter what."

She looks over to him, smirking. "You know, that was reallllllly sappy Jake." She still couldn't help but the smile that grew on her face. Jake rolls his eyes and starts to smile with her "You are such a dork Lils."
