Ok so Kim is gone and the others have to figure out how to get on without her. I know what you're thinking how is it supposed to be BoKiGo if Kim isn't there? Trust and believe in my method. They'll get there but until now let's focus on the other characters for a bit and who knows I may just give you guys sneak peeks into Kim's everyday life now that she's not in the force
I do not own any of these characters in this fanfiction. All monsters are property of Toho and all Kim Possible characters are property of Disney. I do however own Destiny Go and Tiara Josephine Lockheart. Jacob Matthews belongs to Raptorhunter18.
Ch. 18 Storm Brewing
August 1, 2017 GJSDF HQ, Houston, Texas 12:00 p.m.
Four days have passed since Kim had left the force and her absence was felt throughout the building. There was a lack of can do attitude and those closest to her seemed to lack motivation. It was Tuesday and Betty had the first years on the obstacle course overseeing their physical progress. She watched as a young woman with black hair around shoulder length took to the front of the group that were running track. That woman was Zita Flores. Zita had buried herself into her training to cope with her friend leaving. As Betty looked out she could see the other Middleton first years being commanded by their commanding officers as Brock and Felix were doing pushups and Ron was running the obstacle course with the other first year soldiers. He pushes ahead of the other soldiers with only a few running ahead of him. He leapt for the wall gaining traction as he climbed upward and over the wall. He landed on his feet with a slight stumble as he fell forward on his hands, the mud splashing upwards covering his arms, knees and parts of his face. He quickly pushed off of them and ran forward.
Betty wasn't the only one watching him on the obstacle course. Yori sat in on it as well. The Asian woman came to see his performance as well as to check on him as he had been very sullen since Kim had left. Yori understood why as the red head was his childhood friend and they joined the force together. Two days after Kim left Ron didn't have an appetite for lunch and yesterday he barely touched his food. Yori wanted to make sure he still has his head in the game because distractions on the battlefield can mean the end for some soldiers. She studied him and she saw that he was focused, intensely so. She watched as he caught up to another soldier passing him up as they dove in the mud and crawled under the barbed wire fence. She watched as he got snagged by the wire on his shoulder and ripped the uniform he was wearing to keep moving.
"Stoppable has been showing some serious commitment these past few days." Betty said when she noticed that Yori was focused on Ron. "Sometimes it helps when a soldier has something to focus their attention on. We may see an increase in his potential now that Possible has left."
Yori's attention went from Betty and back to Ron as he reached the end of the obstacle course placing third. Yori pondered just how much Kim's departure would have on him.

A soldier fell to the mat with a grunt. The soldier in question had brown hair with frosted tips. He let out a pain groan as he rubbed his sore chest sitting up. He looked up to see Shego standing a few feet in front of him, her left leg stretched out as she had just landed the kick that put him on his back. To his right was Jacob. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration as he walked over to them.
"Josh, remember what I said about centering yourself." He told him. "Keep your feet firmly planted and we have to do something about your stance."
"Well I don't have years of martial arts under my belt like the rest of you." He said with a chuckle as he dusted himself off.
"That's the problem if we weren't in such a hurry we could properly teach you." Jacob admitted. "The secretary of defense will be here in the middle of September, so Shego I'd appreciate it if you tried to actually work with Josh."
Shego scoffed. "Barkin is such a hard ass." Shego commented. She looked over to her left as she noticed Bonnie walking over with a bottle of water. She took it from the brunette and took a sip. "He's not gonna let this fly. A kid that's still wet behind the ears trying to pilot the mecha, yeah right." She said taking another sip.
Her response made Josh scowl at her. A look that no one noticed since the three of them were focused on their conversation.
"What choice do we have? This is on Betty's orders." Jacob replied as a sigh escaped his lips.
"I could give it a try." Bonnie offered with a shrug. "I already operate planes and heavy machinery like maser tanks and the Super X-3. Next to Yori, my physical condition is the closest to Shego's. I may not have martial arts but I think if we work at it I could get in sync by next month."
"Absolutely not!" Shego said immediately shutting the brunette down.
"Why not!?" Bonnie replied not happy with Shego's outburst.
"Piloting a Mecha is different from flying a plane. It's a lot more dangerous and I will not let you do it." Shego told her.
Bonnie folded her arms. "What are you, my mother? I can make my own decisions."
"Not on this you can't." Shego said rebuffing her.
"Then tell me who else deserves to be at your side more than me?" The brunette said getting in Shego's face. "I've always had your back and you've always had mine. That's how we operate. How is this any different?" Bonnie asked.
"Look, you're a lot more beneficial to me in the sky. That's your expertise. I advise you to stick to it." Shego said as she turned to walk away.
"Don't you walk away from me." Bonnie called after her but Jacob stopped her.
Jacob knew Shego was still working through her emotions and didn't want the raven haired woman to say something to Bonnie she'd regret later. Shego walked towards the door of the training room when she saw someone come through the door to the training room. The person in question had long white hair and purple eyes. It was Destiny. The woman in question had woken up from her slumber the very next day after Kim left much to Jacob's relief. She made eye contact with her younger sister as they walked up to each other. However instead of stopping to greet each other they walked completely past the other not making eye contact since Destiny entered the room.
Bonnie and Jacob watched as Destiny continued on walking towards Jacob and Bonnie, her face expressionless. Neither woman glanced back towards the other in their passing. Shego has made it a point to avoid Destiny since she has woken up. Leaving the room every time her older sibling walks in. This isn't the first time they've chosen not to speak to each other after an argument but the circumstances this time around were more serious. Jacob watched as Destiny approached them, her face forming a small smile. He opened his arms and Destiny walked into his embrace as he held her gently and they shared a kiss.
"You eat?" Jacob asked her as he took in her full appearance. Since being pregnant and now unable to fully function as a pilot, Destiny was on her "off" day as more tests needed to be run regarding her pregnancy. It was believed that being exposed to Godzilla's radiation made them sterile. Normally she would get paid medical leave but as long as she was cleared by physicians Destiny would be able to continue her normal active duties around the base.
"Yes." Destiny answered with a smile as she ran her hand along her belly. She could feel her baby bump starting to grow but to everyone else they wouldn't know she was pregnant unless you were in her inner circle.
"You seen Betty yet?" He asked her and couldn't help but smile when he saw her face change into one of slight nervousness.
"I've been doing my best to avoid that. I'm sure she just wants to yell at me." Destiny answered.
"Her mad at you? You're her favorite. You can do no wrong, after all I'm the one stuck with training duty." He gestured to the room they are in.
"Don't remind me." Destiny said. She really did dislike being called a poster child but she can't deny the certain perks the fame gave her. "Besides if you didn't want to be saddled with the responsibility. You shouldn't have such a weak pull out game." She said, giving him a sly smirk.
"Funny considering it was your idea not to use protection." Jacob replied with a smirk of his own.
"Do you guys need a room? Because I can leave." Bonnie said, reminding them they had present company.
"I mean there's nothing like a private session to get a girl going after a week of consecutive napping." Destiny said, as she caressed Jacob's chest. She took her index and middle fingers and walked them across the torso of his uniform while giving him a seductive glance.
Jacob noticed that her violet eyes had a shimmer to her and that she seemed to have a halo around her body. This form of her powers she has no control over and Destiny referred to it as "radiance". During times of intense emotions she emits a glow of radiation around her body. The radiation that is emitted is safe to be around as the levels are too low to do any type of harm even if exposed to it for long intervals and Jacob has seen her glow brighter than this being about as bright as a glow stick in a dark room. Her glowing meant that she was doing more than just teasing him, she was dead serious and he could tell by the look in her eyes that she was a few seconds away from taking Bonnie up on her offer to give them some space.
"Lieutenant Matthews." A voice said, causing them all to look towards the direction of the door that led into the training room. They saw another soldier walking up to them and stopped and saluted Jacob and Jacob returned the salute in return.
"What can I do for you, soldier?" Jacob asked.
"The general wants to see you." He informed Jacob.
Jacob's expression immediately deadpanned. "You never saw me, tell her that I am not on the premises." He told the soldier.
"She said that it's urgent." The soldier replied.
Jacob nodded. "Training is over for the day." He told Josh. "Bonnie, go make sure Shego doesn't do anything to jeopardize our situation." He told the brunette to which she nodded.
"What about me?" Destiny asked, giving Jacob a smile and a wink.
"Don't you have a doctor's appointment today babe?" He asked.
"That's not like for a couple hours." She answered.
"Well let's go get your appointment with Betty out the way." Jacob said with a shrug.
Destiny's expression fell as disappointment hit her face. "Sir yes sir." She said with a full monotone.
Jacob smiled as she wrapped an arm around Destiny and they walked to Betty's office. He would make time for her later right now they needed to see what Betty needed him for. Jacob hoped she wasn't dumping more work on him.

Ergaki Ridge, Sayan Mountains, Khakass Republic, Russia 8:00 P.M.
The sun had set over the lush forests of Ergaki park would be closing soon and all inside were making their way out. Ergaki was a very popular tourist destination as it was truly a sight to behold with one's own eyes. The beautiful colors of the forests that dotted the landscape and painted it A beautiful green. The tall mountain peaks that framed the backdrop as the peaks seemed to reach for the sky. Each year the visitor count soars in the thousands and the number seems to rise each year. A couple were taking some last minute pictures of the lake that sat nestled between the mountain range making up the valley. The man, a tall individual with short cut black hair and a fair build, held up a camera as he framed his girlfriend. A brunette of average height, blue eyes and fair complexion. He smiled as the camera flashed as he captured his girlfriend with the beautiful scenery of the landscape making up the background.
Suddenly a deep rumble could be heard. That rumble was followed by intense shaking. Both the man and woman fumbled about as they struggled to keep their balance. The woman fell over and the man caught her managing to hold them both up but dropping his camera in the process. The shaking ended as quickly as it began and the man checked on his girlfriend asking if she was ok to which she said that she was. Tremors have been plaguing the Ergaki Ridge for a few weeks as of late. They started off small and have been growing in frequency with the last tremor having been one week ago. The growing tremors is why the executive decision to close Ergaki Ridge after today to better assess the situation and ensure the area remains safe for natives and tourists alike.
The man picked up his camera to see that it was still intact and he placed the lanyard that held the camera around his neck, securing it. He gestured to his girlfriend and had her walk in front of him as they headed back to the main entrance. However they were struck by another tremor, this one several times more intense than the last. The shaking threw them off their feet and they hit the ground hard. The man quickly reached for his girlfriend as he managed to climb over her as the sound of falling rocks and trees filled their ears. He tried to keep her calm as she let out terrified screams. However another sound came and it was loud, drowning out the terrified screams of his girlfriend. The man looked around him as the sound seemed to come from all over. It sounded like tearing, like the area was being ripped apart.
The man was right in his assumption as cracks formed on the ridge he and his girlfriend had been taking pictures on. Seeing the cracks spreading and heading in their direction he began to pull his girlfriend out of the way. Despite the intensity of the tremor and the falling debris the man was successful in removing them out of harm's way. They both watched as the cracks cut across the section of the ridge they were just at and the ground gave way, collapsing into the valley below.
The shaking stopped and they both stood with the man checking on his girlfriend once more. Once he made sure she was ok he began to usher her ahead of him. They only had ten minutes of daylight left and he wanted to get them both out of the ridge before another tremor hit. A loud sound stopped them in their tracks. The sound made them stop instantly, causing the woman to scream in terror and both of their blood to run cold. They could feel the earth rumble beneath their feet.
Fearing another tremor they began to move again when the loud sound came again. Once more fear gripped they fell to the ground. The man tried to stand but his legs felt like pool noodles as he collapsed back down. They began to feel an overwhelming sense of dread as their attention turned to the collapsed ridge. The man turned to look at the sky to see the sunlight was fading and night was setting in quickly. Struggling to stand as he felt his arms strain beneath him and his legs refusal to cooperate he managed to climb to his feet. His intention was to grab his girlfriend and run. However his legs gave out once more and he fell forward but managed to catch himself so as to not fall completely forward on his face. His heart was racing and his arms trembled almost as hard as the tremors from before as he had almost fallen over the ridge and into the valley below.
His girlfriend called out to him to make sure he was fine and he let her know that he was. That's when the sound came again, filling them with instant terror. The sound was coming from down in the valley and the man was fighting the urge to look. His heart was pounding and it felt like it would burst from his chest. Below him in the valley something moved. It wasn't any animal he had been familiar with. This creature was long and moved like a larva. It's carapace was black and armored, and its sides were lined with yellow and red patterning with a red ridge of spikes running down from the back of its head to it's end. It's head was covered in the same armor like carapace with yellow coloring adorning it's horns that framed it's head like a crown. There was one large yellow horn atop its head. The creature had large red eyes that glowed as the dark of the night set in. It rose up exposing its red underbelly as it looked around. Three long sharp protrusions extended from its tail end almost like a pitchfork.
This was no animal the man recognized he was staring at a Kaiju. As he continued to look at the Kaiju he could feel his fear rising. It opened it's black mandibles and roared. It was the sound from earlier that made his knees buckle and even now he could feel his arms giving way beneath him. He took a deep breath and steadied himself. However instead of getting up he found that he was reaching for the camera around his neck. He tried to steady his trembling hands as best he could as he raised the camera. He clicked the shutter and the camera flashed almost seeming to illuminate the valley beneath him.
The flash also didn't go unnoticed by the Kaiju. It turned to face the man, its red eyes focusing on him. The fear once more became palpable within him. He looked behind him to see his girlfriend was still there looking at him with concern. In one swift motion he tossed his camera to her and she gave him a confused look. He told her to run and get away from this area. Before she could respond a bright purple light filled her eyes causing her to cover her face and it was accompanied by a loud explosion and an intense shaking of the ground beneath her. She could feel the debris from the explosion hit her as some of the rocks cut into her skin making her scream out. The moment though it felt like an eternity was brief.
She lowered her hands and looked at them to see that her left hand was bleeding and she could feel the cuts on her body that she couldn't protect from the blast. She looked down to see the camera her boyfriend had thrown to her. She looked it over to see that the lens was cracked but beyond that it was fine. She looked up to check on her boyfriend to see that he was gone. The ground had given way from the explosion taking him with it. She cried out but quickly covered her mouth when she remembered that whatever caused the explosion was still most likely down below in the valley. Placed the lanyard around her neck and slowly got up. Her knees were not feeling as weak as before and began to walk away. She looked back towards where her boyfriend had been, a tear slipping down her cheek as she made her way back to the entrance or the park.

Betty was sitting at her desk when a knock at her door came. She looked up to see Jacob and Destiny standing outside her office and waved them in. They entered and took notice that both Tiara and Vivian were present as well, letting them know that something serious was going on. They focused on the older woman and saluted Betty.
"At ease, soldiers." Betty said with a salute of her own as she stood up.
"You wanted to see us ma'am?" Jacob asked.
Betty nodded as she walked passed them and to the other side of her office. "We've come across some crucial information courtesy of Kim's friend Wade." Betty said as she closed the blinds to her office and immediately the lights.
"How are you feeling, 2nd lieutenant Go?" Betty asked as Jacob glanced at his girlfriend. The fact that Betty was referring to her by rank definitely meant trouble may very well just be on the horizon.
"I may not be at one hundred percent but I'm feeling better than I have in years." Destiny answered.
Betty nodded as she walked back to her desk. "We will take great measures to ensure that you have a smooth pregnancy. Just make sure you two notify me if you plan on delivering another nuke in the future." She said, glancing at Jacob.
"Nuke?" Destiny repeated, she looked to Jacob who merely gestured to her stomach. "Oh." Destiny exclaimed her mind still in the realms of doing something she would deem vastly more pleasurable to her time. However the statement did pose a rather vexing question for her.
"You don't think our child….will inherit my powers do you?" Destiny asked.
Jacob wondered the same thing. He was so wrapped up in the excitement of becoming a father he forgot about the possibility of their child literally being born as a nuclear bomb and the dangers that could come to both Destiny and their unborn child.
"You and your siblings were changed on a genetic level by Godzilla's radiation." Tiara started. "It stands to reason that your child may very well inherit your powers. Now I don't mean to put a damper on your moods and believe me I want a safe delivery for you Destiny. However we must consider the possibility that the radioactivity of the infant's powers may cause harm to not only the child but you as well should they begin to develop inside of the womb." Tiara explained.
Destiny placed her hands over her stomach. The very thought of losing her child before she could even meet him or her filled her with dread.
"When we ran tests while your radiation emission levels weren't as high as your siblings, we assumed that it made you infertile like they were. It's why we didn't run more tests on you." Vivian said as she sat forward in her chair. "We didn't want to put any more stress on you than was needed."
Destiny remembered, it was right after the attack on Go City. The skin pigmentation on her siblings has begun to take effect and they were immediately taken by hazmat crews to quarantine. For two weeks she was separated from her brothers and sister. For two weeks they were all treated like Guinea pigs. Shego still refuses to talk about what happened on her end. Destiny guessed it had something to do with needles and she has gained an intense fear of them. Every month Shego and her brothers are required to receive a shot. The shot is a specialized dosage of medicine designed to keep their radiation levels in check, this way their powers stay at safe levels and ensures they can't endanger themselves and those around them. Her three youngest brothers who use the code names Mego, and Wego require one shot because of the unique nature of their powers. Hego requires two because of the strain the radiation can put on his muscles. Shego however requires three shots.
The medicine is injected into her siblings via the spinal vertebrae. With Shego needing three she receives a shot at the base of her neck, then between the shoulder blades and lastly the middle of her spine. Destiny shuddered a bit which Jacob noticed and he asked her if she was alright. Destiny nodded reassuring him, it's just that her younger sister who is normally a confident and brave woman while arrogant is known for her tough exterior, and no nonsense attitude on the field. That all goes out the window when her time of the month comes. Each time she goes with Shego for the shot she watches as her previous persona is peeled away exposing the frightened child underneath. Destiny remembered the first time Shego had to receive the shot it took all her brothers to restrain her as she had activated her powers and was about to attack those administering the medicine.
The reason she requires the shot is because of how high her radiation output can get if left unchecked. She remembers the doctors comparing her to a nuclear bomb. While she was sure that was just an expression it still worried Destiny. Still Destiny makes sure she's at Shego's side as she has been the only thing keeping Shego from being locked away like some animal. She then remembered their last interaction and she remembered Shego's reaction to her being pregnant. She let out a sigh.
"The reason I called you here is so you can watch this." Betty said. She turned on her laptop as the screen came to life. It mirrored the display to a wall in her office. There they watched as two individuals stood in the middle of the room. Destiny and Jacob could see that the room was filling with smoke. "This is what Wade was able to pull from one of the files W.E.E. had in their database.
Betty played the video and they watched the video silently play out. They saw a metallic clawed hand of something large come from the smoke before the video cut out.
"Was that a mecha?" Jacob asked.
"We're not sure, but it's our best guess. Did you notice the two men in the video?" Betty inquired.
They both nodded. "I wasn't sure at first but when he turned to face the screen I was able to identify Drew Lipsky." Destiny said.
"The very same Drew Lipsky that was presumed dead." Jacob said the suspicion in his voice.
Betty nodded. "While it's unsure how long he's been working for W.E.E. it's clear that he's developing something for them. Like Dr Possible, Drew is known for expertise in the field of robotics. So it's possible he's been developing something to counter the defense force."
"Great." Jacob said. "This is just what we need. As if we don't have enough on our plates." The irritation grew as he spoke. "What other surprises are coming?"
As if on queue Betty's office phone rang catching everyone's attention. Betty pressed a button and answered. "Yes?" She answered through the speaker.
A voice of a young man came through. "There are two people here to speak to you." The young man spoke.
"Tell them they have to schedule an appointment." Betty said nonchalantly, she wanted to get back to business.
"Ma'am they said it's urgent, something about a W.E.E." He replied.
Everyone exchanged confused glances. "I'll be right down." They all began to make their way to the door and Betty opened it. She watched as Tiara and Vivian exited, but she stopped Destiny and Jacob.
"You two are relieved for now, I'll call for you when we learn what our guests have to say. I don't want Destiny having to walk all over the facility." Betty explained.
"I'm fine, General." Destiny told her.
Betty shook her head in disagreement. "Last thing we need to do is put unneeded stress on your body. This pregnancy isn't a normal one. We are in uncharted territory and we don't want to cause anything that isn't supposed to happen, to happen, understood?"
Destiny saluted. "Ma'am."
Betty nodded and headed down towards the receptionist lobby with Tiara and Vivian in tow.
XX
Betty, Tiara and Vivian reached the lobby. It was as busy as ever as staff and soldiers entered and exited. Betty quickly scanned the area to see two people that stuck out to her. One was a man and the other a woman. The man sat patiently in one of the lobby chairs with an impatient look on his face, while the woman was visibly worried, the expression written into every line of her face.
The woman was Caucasian as well as a brunette and similar in complexion and height to Tiara. She had her hair tied in a ponytail that stopped past her shoulders. She ran her hands through her hair as she attempted to brush back her bangs that dangled in front of her green eyes. She was wearing a gray business suit with a fuschia shirt underneath. She had matching pants and heels on as well. She was also carrying a brown briefcase.
The man was Asian, quite possibly Japanese Betty presumed. He had black hair with a goatee that was starting to gray. Stubbles of hair were growing on the sides of the man's face. He looked up to see the three women walking up to him, his brown eyes scanning them. He got up quickly as he brushed off his navy blue jacket.
"Betty Director?" He asked, extending his hand.
Betty nodded as she extended hers to shake the man's hand. "Yes and you are?" Betty asked.
"Ishiro Serizawa and this is Vivienne Graham." The man said introducing them.
"Hello." Vivienne said as she extended her hand and shook Betty's.
Betty craned her eyebrow as their names were not only familiar but very well known.
"As in Monarch's Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham?" Betty asked, and they nodded in confirmation. "What brings you to Global Justice?"
"If we could talk in private?" Serizawa requested.
Betty nodded. "Follow me."

GJSDF Gym Room, 1:00 p.m.
Bonnie entered the gym room to find Shego hammering away at the punching bag. She was muttering something to herself but Bonnie could not make out what it was. Shego relented her assault and wiped her brow as she turned to grab her bottle of water. When she saw Bonnie standing there with an expression that let Shego know she had something on her mind, the raven haired woman rolled her eyes as she finished the bottle of water. She exhaled as she tossed the bottle into a nearby trash can.
"What do you want Rockwaller?" Shego asked as she turned around and resumed hitting the punching bag.
Bonnie folded her arms. "Answers, like where do you get off telling me what I can and can't do?"
Shego scoffed and that irritated Bonnie. The brunette strolled up closer to her teammate.
"I've put as much blood, sweat and tears into this just like you have. I have my own goals and agendas and I will do what needs to be done to achieve my goals. If I have to pilot that damn robot then so be it. I don't need your permission." Bonnie explained.
Shego once she felt Bonnie was done talking resumed her strikes on the punching bag. "I'm the fighter, you're the flyer. Stick to what you're good at staff sergeant." Shego replied as she threw out a kick towards the punching bag.
"Bullshit." Bonnie said, raising her voice some catching the attention of those in the gym room. "This isn't about rank, or our specializations. You've been really pissy lately and I for the life of me can't figure out what's going on."
Shego stayed focused on the punching bag as she continued to jab at it. Her punches landing harder. Even though Shego couldn't see it Bonnie's look softened some. Shego hasn't been her usual self. It bothered Bonnie it was like a switch flipped in her head ever since Kim left.
Did her and Kim have something going on? The thought came to Bonnie intrusively. Bonnie's thoughts drifted back to when Shego came knocking at the red heads door. The surprise she had when she saw her there with Kim. She wasn't expecting Bonnie to be there and Bonnie wasn't expecting Shego to come knocking either.
If it was possible that her and Kim had something between them then why that day did they almost. Bonnie cleared her mind of the thought. She looked to see Shego was still focused on punching the bag so she didn't notice the blush and awkward look on the brunettes face.
"Is this about Kim?" Bonnie asked after a full minute of silence.
Shego stopped her punch mid swing and stood up straight. Her jade eyes met Bonnie's teal eyes. Bonnie could tell that Shego was searching her face for answers. Her face wasn't as stern as before, Bonnie realized too late that her face expressed more than concern, but worry that her and Shego's relationship would be changing for the worst. Shego read that expression plain as day it matched the tone of voice of Bonnie's last question.
Shego wondered what made her ask that. She then remembered when she went to Kim's room to warn her about her father's plan to have her leave the force. She remembered the look of shock that she had on her face when she saw Bonnie there. She wasn't expecting to see her there dressed how she was almost like she was on a date. Shego had been secretly hoping she could get them to get along. She wanted the best for Bonnie and she knew that Kim would be the best fit for Bonnie besides herself. Shego studied Bonnie's face and saw the expression the brunette had failed to hide. She saw that Bonnie didn't want to lose to Kim. Bonnie didn't want to lose anyone, that is how she always has been. To be the best was always her drive, but this time not losing to Kim meant more than just being a better soldier. Shego rarely doubted herself but now as she stood before Bonnie as sure as the sky was blue that Bonnie was scared of losing Shego to Kim, afraid of the change in their dynamics, that their bond would be no more, Shego doubted herself.
She doubted that was the possibility of Bonnie's thoughts. She doubted that her look of concern was actually more than what it was because deep down it's what Shego wanted it to be. Though the time their eyes locked was only a few seconds they felt like years, decades. However Shego broke her gaze as she turned back to her punching bag.
"No." Shego said as she started punching again.
Bonnie felt her heart sink as she watched Shego turn away from her. Shego told her no but it didn't soothe her any. Was it how Shego responded? Was it because she turned away? Or because she couldn't look Bonnie in her eyes. The next feeling Bonnie felt was anger. It welled up from within her. From a place not even she was sure of and it rose to the surface quickly.
"You don't have to lie." Bonnie said. Her tone caught Shego's attention, the raven-haired woman glancing at Bonnie again.
If looks could kill Shego thought. Bonnie's arms were folded, her posture and stance rigid. Her face was full of disapproval.
"What do you want from me?" She asked, giving Bonnie her full attention once again. "You asked, I answered."
"You're telling me what I want to hear. I'm not a child." Bonnie told Shego, her tone getting louder.
Shego was getting irritated, more than she already was. This was just too much. Coupled with everything else going on in her life she was already at her limit. She walked past Bonnie, needing to get away from the brunette before the situation turned hot.
"Don't walk away from me!" Bonnie called after her only to see that Shego kept walking. Bonnie quickly exited the gym room. "After everything we've been through, I'm not letting you walk away. You owe me the truth!" Bonnie demanded as she grabbed Shego's shoulder.
That was her last straw. Shego didn't owe anyone anything. She spun around quickly facing Bonnie.
"Owe? I don't owe you a damn thing. I've done nothing but look out for you. You think you know everything Rockwaller, but you haven't got the faintest clue." She told Bonnie. "Did you know that the last pilots ended up hospitalized because they weren't ready prepared and it wasn't because of a kaijus attack. I don't want you piloting the damn thing because I don't want to see what happened to them, happen to you."
Bonnie was shocked by not only Shego's outburst but the news she just received. "What happened to them?" She asked Shego.
"Just stay away from the damn thing ok?" Shego said before walking off and leaving Bonnie standing there in the halls.

Blue eyes opened slowly as a woman with black hair sat up in a bed. Her left hand grasped a tail feeling the cold steel making her jerk a little. She looked to see it was designed like a hospital bed. She remembered now she had been put under for her latest procedure. She looked over to see a man typing away at a computer she could make a few things on the screen. The screen displayed a feminine figure and highlighted certain areas of the body, like the arms and legs, and the torso around the spine. Another screen showed the muscle and ligaments and that they've been significantly enhanced. She flexed the muscles in her right arm and she opened and closed her hand. She could not only see the difference but feel the increase to her strength.
"Ah you are awake, und how are you feeling Agent Zeta?" The man asked her.
She glanced back over to her left as she turned to move off the bed. The hospital gown flowing over legs as her feet made contact with the cold floor.
"Better than ever doc. What exactly did you do to me?" She asked as she looked herself over.
"I've made enhancements to your physical prowess. Your reflexes, reaction times have been dramatically improved, und your strength is on par with zat idiot brother of Shego's." The man told her.
She studied the man before her, his back still to hers. The man was short but stocky and Yin was taller than him by a few inches.
"Here, take this." The man said as he reached into his pocket and handed her something wrapped in napkins. Yin opened the napkin to see there were two pills wrapped in the napkin. "Zis supplement will help you further adjust to ze procedure. It is advised zat you take a few days rest. Do not try anything too strenuous as of right now; your body must acclimate to ze changes."
She nodded and walked over to the nearest sink. Turning on the water she placed the pills in her mouth and cupped her hands letting the cold water fill up in her palms. She dipped the water from her hands and swallowed the pills given to her and she exhaled. It was still a strange feeling to her. Her enhancements were the direct result of her being left to die by Yori. It was W.E.E. that found her and brought her back from the brink of death. Given her a second chance to prove her superiority. She would not squander it. Yin walked out of the room and back to her quarters so she could be properly dressed.
The man watched as she walked out of the operating room, he resumed typing on the computer as he pulled up more screens and his smile widened even more. "All according to ze plan." He whispered.
XX
Betty, Vivian and Tiara reconvened with Drs Serizawa and Graham in Betty's office. Betty shut the door after everyone entered the room and offered Serizawa and Vivienne a seat. Betty moved to take a seat at her desk while both Vivian and Tiara sat on the sides near a window that offered a good view of the base and training field and skyline of the city.
"Now what seems to be the matter?" Betty wanting to know what Monarch's top scientists wanted with her and the force.
Monarch had been in commission longer than GJSDF they were founded not too long after the first Godzilla sightings in the fifties. Monarch operated similarly to the military bases around the world but they specialized in the containment and study of the kaiju, only neutralizing them up onast resort if the kaiju proved too difficult to contain. Betty hasn't seen Monarch since the aftermath of Godzilla's rampage in Go City, that was seventeen years ago. Now that she remembered that's when she met Serizawa, although Vivienne was not with him at the time, it was another woman, however Betty could not remember her name.
"Two years ago a member of our team went missing." Serizawa started before looking at Vivienne and nodding. She reached into her briefcase and pulled out a file and placed it on Betty's desk. Betty opened it the file and it revealed the image of a woman with short hair that stopped several inches from her shoulders. Her hair was a golden brown and she had blue eyes and a kind smile on her face. "That is Dr Emma Russell." Serizawa finished.
"She's the chief paleobiologist and director of Bioacoustics Studies." Vivienne added.
Betty craned her eyebrow. "Bioacoustics? On the kaiju?" The general asked.
They nodded. "Dr Russell proposed that there was a way to communicate with the Titans and avoid needless confrontation."
"Titans?" Vivian repeated with some confusion.
"That's how they classify the kaiju." Tiara replied. "They prefer to call them Titans as the term kaiju is too demonizing to them."
"But isn't the word kaiju Japanese for monster?" Vivian asked, trying to understand the problem with the term the Japanese themselves coined.
Serizawa nodded to Vivian. "Yes, but not all are monsters. Just those like that Megaguirus that engaged Mothra and Rodan. Beings that only seek destruction rather than cohesion. Beings created and not born of this earth. That is the difference between your kaijus and the Titans." Serizawa explained.
"I don't get it." Vivian quickly said. "All of the 'Titans' as you put it exude radiation. The cause being man made alterations to whatever they were beforehand." The blonde scientist said.
"That may be true of creatures like Zilla who was created due to the nuclear testing in French Polynesia are vastly different from the others." Vivienne cut in. "However there are some that have always just been. Even before the dawn of mankind. Like Titanus Mosura."
Vivian craned her eyebrow. "That's Mothra." Tiara told her colleague seeing that the blonde was still getting used to their terminology.
"We have found multiple cave art of her and various other Titans throughout the world suggesting that since the early days of mankind they have always been present on the earth."
"So what does this Emma Russell have to do with the kaiju?" Betty asked getting everyone back on the subject at hand.
Vivienne handed Betty another file and when she opened it showed a machine. The machine looked like a computer with a touchpad, on its screen was the image of a kaijus with what appeared to be wave frequencies.
"Almost a decade ago we discovered an island out in the Pacific. Completely uncharted that you can't find on the maps. We found that several kaiju called it home." Vivienne began explaining.
"Monster Island." Betty said, catching their attention.
"You know of it?" Serizawa asked.
Betty nodded. "My soldiers tracked Anguirus to this location. We had a run in with an enemy organization there called W.E.E. and we suspect they had plans to try and control the kaiju there." The general explained. "Though why you kept it's location a secret for almost a decade is beyond me." Betty said giving them a skeptical look.
"To preserve a place of sanctity for the Titans. However if this W.E.E. has attempted to pillage their home then it is as I feared." Serizawa said.
Vivian, Tiara and Betty exchanged glances. "Does it have something to do with this machine?" Betty asked.
Serizawa nodded and Vivienne continued her explanation of the machine. "This is Emma's greatest invention. She called it the ORCA. During her study of Monster Island she found that there was a frequency the kaijus communicated on. It lead to the development of the ORCA and with it the ability to successfully communicate with the Titans."
"You mean to tell me that thing actually works?" Vivian asked, pointing at the image to which Vivienne nodded in agreement.
"Emma became worried that it would fall into the wrong hands so its development was kept a secret. She kept it with her at all times because it has the potential to cause.."
"Armageddon." Tiara said, a look of dread in her eyes.
"What? What is it?" Betty asked.
"If this thing can communicate with kaiju and if W.E.E. truly have found a way to control them then they could amass an army of them and there is no telling what kind of destruction a power like that will cause." She told Betty. "You say she went missing?"
"Yes." Serizawa responded. "We've checked everywhere we thought she could be and nothing it's as if she no longer exists."
"Doesn't that sound awfully familiar? Betty asked, as she glanced back at Vivian and Tiara.
They both nodded. "Sounds alot like the disappearance of Dr Lipsky." Vivian said.
"You don't think she's also working with W.E.E. do you?" Tiara asked.
"No." Serizawa said quickly. "Emma would never align herself with a group that would seek to harm the Titans and use them for personal gain."
"No disrespect." Betty said. "However when kaijus are involved you learn that a person's ideals can shift with the drop of a hat. Either way we can not rule out that she may or may not be a willing participant to their schemes." Betty told them.
"How do we even go about tracking them?" Tiara asked.
"In the files you'll find schematics for the ORCA. It's why we believe she was taken because Emma would not have left this behind to fall in the wrong hands." Vivienne said.
Vivian grabbed the file and looked through the schematics, brushing a lock of her blonde hair back as she did so. She began rubbing her chin as she continued going over the blueprints.
"Perhaps." The blonde muttered.
"Well don't keep us in suspense. Tell us what you're thinking." Betty said.
"It's just a hunch but maybe, just maybe I can craft a device that can hone in on the ORCAs signature. The downside would be we could only track the ORCA while it's activated and emitting a frequency."
"It's better than nothing." Betty responded. "How long would it take to make the device?"
Vivian shrugged. "I can't say this is quite the machinery. I'll get started on it ASAP. I refuse to let W.E.E. keep the leg up on us."
Serizawa and Vivienne nodded towards the blonde and she took the schematics and left the room.
What else could go wrong? Was the thought floating in Betty's mind now. She needed to organize a meeting with her superiors and inform them of the probable situation they may all be facing. They have formidable defenses but without Kiryu it seemed like they would be facing an uphill battle.
I am going to kill Jacob Betty, as she felt a headache coming on.
That is where this chapter ends. I bet none of you expected some Monsterverse content in this story? To be honest as I started writing this story way before Godzilla 2014 was even a thing I of course had no plans for Monarch. However with how well implemented they are within the Monsterverse and the new angle the monsters are depicted in from that universe I felt it will work well for this story. Until then everyone stay safe and please leave a review on your thoughts as it greatly helps me improve as a writer.
