The Storyteller993 – Yeah, one has acknowledged fully his love and one has done the same but now we'll have to see how their resolve holds up in the war.

Yep, but now we have to see how it will effect the war itself.

As for next girl… I'm still kinda thinking about it, since we still have the "After Story" of the main game left, I'll also be doing her After Story section from Majikoi S just so I don't have to deal with it later in a sequel.

I'll be doing that for all the girls here, but one heroine will have an exception…

ElBurritoBandido – Yeah this was kind of my idea from the start is that Momoyo would be more aware of her emotions in this one and now that the War is upon them it's time for both of them to steel themselves.

Don't worry I have some ideas up my sleeve that I think will leave you thoroughly entertained. Let's just say this war isn't going to be like the one the anime. But no more spoilers…

As for uploading so quickly, it's honestly just interest. And my previous story has nothing to do with this one, the last one I had I barely thought out and made on a whim. So this is my simplified version of it.

Thanks for catching that, I got it fixed. Thanks again!

The Goddess of War – Part 10

The War Begins

August 17th, 2009, Monday

We eventually made it back despite the typhoon. Today was the second school day we would have. It was today we'd find out where we would be taking our school trip to.

Morning Assembly—

Tesshin was up at the stand speaking to everyone gathered, "Now then, today is the day you've all been waiting for… The day you figure out where we will be taking our school trip! Please clap…"

And despite the last part added everyone seemed quite energized to see where they would be going this year. Apparently the school would go as far as China and even to the Americas for school trips.

Everyone cheered as Tesshin announced the four options, "First up, Canada! Second, Southeast China! Thirdly, Kyoto!"

So far all the options had elicited some kind of excitement from the students but the fourth option, "Saitama!" Literally one province over…

Safe to say… no one was happy. And then Tesshin decided he would shoot an arrow at a wheel containing the destinations that he claimed was "fair" but looking at it…

"Hey! No matter how you cut it, Saitama's area is way too big!" Gakuto angrily pointed out, followed by Jun.

The mysterious option of Sainokuni was always confusing to me, but I never paid it any mind. Yamato did tell Chris some funny retort about how it was a small country who's diet consisted of nothing but cheeseburgers.

And this girl who still is so gullible was still one of our most important commanders… Lord help us…

"Given all this setup for the Kawakami War the budget must be strained to the max, no wonder the man's set on Saitama being the destination, best to just use the train line and move on." I point out.

And after Tesshin put on a blindfold, everyone watched with bated breath hoping to God that Tesshin would hit something other than Saitama.

"Please! Even if we have to stay local, please let it be Kyoto!" Kazuko begged, she peeked to see the result, "Waaah! It's Saitama after all!"

"Well good thing we just went to Okinawa…" Yamato said.

"You said it. Not hating on Saitama, but that's not where you go for a school trip." Gakuto agreed.

We would apparently be staying in Honjo City going specifically along the Shohoku-Shinjuku train line, which I surmise is the cheapest rail line there.

But after all that nonsense with nearly two weeks left; Yamato and I were checking in on the troop's and their training.

"Enough on the trip, how's the brigade's performance doing?" I ask Gen.

"Kazuko's got them running in the mountains right now, but at this point their fairly decent now. If anything they know how to run a marathon now." Gen said.

"I think that's a good thing. All that running will build up their endurance." Yamato added.

"Yeah. And seeing Kazuko's hard work means we haven't had any desertions." That was a good sign. "I'm starting to think we have a chance at this. Numbers don't mean much if you have the right strategy."

"Got it, you can leave the planning to me and Nagamasa." Yamato replied.

"They go the whole Archery club with them, you guys got any idea how to deal with them?" Gen inquired.

"Oh, don't worry we got a guy who'll be able to even the odds. Let's say the way he shoots, he's worth over 100 archers." I answered.

"Well even still, I know a bit about archery, if you ever need one I'm your guy still." Gen said.

"You an archer, that's reassuring." Yamato replied.

Around that time Chris returned with the second Osaka Squad from their training session at the beach. And after just a flourish of her finger, Chris's troops moved as if she were a puppeteer holding a marionette. Moving with precision and accuracy befitting an elite squad.

After that demonstration Yamato and I had some major negotiations to go to, Kobayakawa who was said to be leading his own brigade still seemed to be on the fence about who to side with. He was on paper on the side of the S Army, but like his family name suggests… anything could happen on the battlefield.

But other than that with both mine and Yamato's connections we had arrayed a fine cadre of outside help to assist us. And sure while the War would be going on their was something else I had to personally finish before the 31st…

And so these last few weeks were used to as much as we could, until…

The day finally arrived.

August 31st, 2009, Monday

Today was finally the day of the Kawakami War. All the students were heading for the station towards the Tanzawa Mountains which was the battlefield that was to be used.

Everyone was dressed in unrestricted clothing in order to ensure peak performance for all students involved.

Unfortunately one of our outside helpers had to be labeled as a "stuffed animal" to get through security. Sorry Cookie…

"You don't even have guts. Or boots." There she was, Momoyo. "Heheh, here we are chatting away, but soon we'll be at each other's throats. Nagamasa…" She looked me dead in my eyes.

"Show me a good time… along with the rest of you." I could see the resolve in her own eyes.

"Yeah, no regrets Senpai." I replied.

"We fight to win, Onee-sama!" Kazuko declared.

"I'll make you regret going against us!" Capt joined in.

"Being cheerful's all well and good, but don't you guys know how outgunned you are?" Momoyo said.

"You number 900, we 450 at best. A two-to-one margin, even so we will be victorious!" Chris was more than pumped.

"Hahaha, that's what I want to hear. But you still wrong." Momoyo retorted, her expression changing, "I'm worth a million soldiers. You're fighting a million troops."

"Well good thing I'm here to even those odds, right everyone!?" I turned to the others.

"Yeah!" They all cheered in reply.

"So it still seems even to me Momoyo. Today's the day, I'll keep my promise to you… you will surrender to me this day!" I declared to her.

"Nagamasa… you… Haha, you've grown into a splendid warrior, but I'm going to win. That's what I fight to do." Momoyo replied in kind, our auras colliding; one could just feel the tension in the air.

"Haha, you talk just as big, Nee-san. Like Nagamasa said, the S Army will lose to the F Army. And when they do, you will as well." Yamato joined in.

"Hm, when did you learn to talk big Yamato? I'm still on their side." Momoyo fired back.

"Oh, don't you worry about that. Let's just say you'll be in for plenty of fights, don't want to ruin the surprise." I say with a smirk. "At the end of the day… let's see whose the better warrior."

"After I've captured you in this war…" I can see as Momoyo twiddles her fingers mischievously. But just before we board the train she grabs my shoulder and whispers, "After this war, there's something I have to tell you…" And like that she was gone.

"What did she mean…?"

And so we all boarded the train to Tanzawa, sparks and tension could be felt the whole ride over. After arriving mostly everyone had already made it; I headed to the F Army main camp with Yamato.

But the main reason everyone was grouped up was everyone was signing waivers signing off that everyone was here of their own volition and wasn't pressured to do so. While doing so we noticed their was a there was a whole press corps here in the mountains.

Ass Tesshin was giving an interview with reporters, some of our outside help had arrived.

The monks from the Temple had arrived at Yamato's request, "Naoe-dono, Azai-dono; I look forward to today's battle."

"Thank you for coming today, all of you." Yamato and I respectfully bowed which they returned in kind.

"We are the Monk Squad for this battle today, twenty men and women of the Temple who are candidates in the Assistant Master exam. As promised we will fight by your side. But we will only fight Momoyo-dono as we agreed."

"Yes, yes just as we agreed beforehand. But above all we need you to hold her back." Yamato asked.

"And we will carry out that task to the most of our abilities. Kazuko-dono, may fortune favor you as well." The monk turned to Kazuko.

"You guys as well." Kazuko bowed as well.

Another group of our helpers finally arrived, "Oi, Nagamasa! We're here! Five of the Warriors of the West are here to help!"

Homura Otomo, the quirky yet energetic member of the Warriors of the West and student at Nabeshima's school in Kyushu. She was carrying her overly large hand cannons on her back.

"Nagamasa, aren't guns banned?" Yamato asked me.

"Remember that exception that Tesshin made? Well she's the one, her cannons are powered by Ki, not gunpowder so the attacks will be… bombastic is the best way to put it. But still, thanks for coming Homura." I turn and shake her hand.

After she gets off the other 4 warriors who arrived with her appear. The first of them was Motochika Mouri, the chestnut haired egotistical archer of the West.

"While I would love to be anywhere then in these mountains, this amount of press will be great for showing off my beautiful archery to the masses." Yep, ever the egotist. But having two of the Five Heavenly Archers on our side is a boon to morale.

The next off the bus was a boy dressed in all black, like a ninja. Issuke Hachiya.

"I am at your command. I shall live up to our arrangement in full. You have my full services." And ever the ninja.

"Don't worry you'll need every bit of those skills today, cause I'm sure you can sense her right?" I ask him.

He sniffs the air, "Ah, Fuma… I will have fun today it seems."

Another to leave the bus was a rather handsome blonde man, rose in mouth as he walks off the bus a crowd gathers around him, this was Takamasa Ryuuzoji. Not much of a fighter, but his skills were needed for another mission.

"Yes, yes hello everyone. I hope you'll all be participating today. It's lovely to meet you." I clear my throat getting his attention.

"Remember our deal?" I tell him.

"Oh yes, I understand. Don't worry I will not fail you." He says with a wink as he heads fore the camp.

The last of the 5 Warriors of the West to arrive was a man dressed in a white hood, "Hello there, as we agreed I will only go by M during this battle."

"I understand. You'll be in reserve until the moment you're needed. Rest here in the main camp until then" I replied. He nodded as he left.

Or otherwise, Mr. M was Yoshitsugu Oomura, the strategist and trump card of the Warriors of the West. On the surface was a genius planner on the level of Yamato, but underneath that persona was a warrior who could match even Momoyo if he was serious enough.

That was the last of the Western warriors. Safe to say that morale was at an all time high.

We still had one trump of our own, but she was on standby. The other mystery warrior we had was none other than Hound solider and ninja of the team; Lisa Brinker.

"Hey kid! Good to see you again!" She immediately approached me putting her arm around my shoulder. "You know we never did get that time to tour Kawakami…" But I silence her.

"Remember the deal: Fight first, then you get the tour. Besides, Margit's here you can feel it can't you?" I ask the German ninja.

Lisa seems to be sensing in the air, and she smiles; "Yeah, she's here. I would know that hunting aura anywhere. But don't worry kid, I'm here with you. Leave her to me!"

Then came in another group of delinquents that Yamato had called, really just twenty things he'd been able to gather up. Their squad was nicknamed the Bandits since that's really what their role was going to be just making chaos.

Eventually Capt's First Squad returned all looking deadly serious. Chris arrived soon after with the Second Squad.

"You got 150 of us in the main brigade." Tadakatsu stood ready himself.

Mayo then arrived at our group. "Everyone's so enthused. Shouldn't I be doing something, as the general?"

"Just stand tall and proud." Yamato tells her.

"Yes! I can do that!" She seemed just a pumped up as the rest of us. Chika was with her as a way to comfort Mayo during the battle.

"Hey, Nagamasa where'll we be at on the field?" Toshimaru arrived wearing her usual training Gi I'd seen her train in at the temple, as were the others of the Yari Drill Club along with their replica spears.

"You'll have a very special job. I'll leave your deployment to Yamato, so do as he says." I order her.

"Your wish is my command." She bowed. Geez, this girl made me feel like she was my retainer or something.

"You heard him! Be ready to move at a moment's notice! Got it!?" Her group nodded in unison. That's some coordination and teamwork alright.

Alright it seems like we were all here and ready!

"Alright, all units get into your positions!" Yamato ordered. "Don't cross the border into S Army territory! Monks, can you and some of the main brigade help set up our base?"

"You want it on this island, located downstream?" The head monk asked.

"Yes, it's a strong defensive position." Yamato pointed out.

"How many of my guys do you need?" Gen asked.

"80." Yamato replied.

"Over half? Well it's your call. You'll be having them meet up with me later, right?" Gen asked.

That at the end of the day would depend on their opponents. How the S Army would fight, one had to wonder.

Farther to the north of our encampment was the S Army's own main camp—

The S Army prepared for battle as well. Fushikawa Kokoro was given her own troop to lead numbering over 200.

"When the battle begins, I will take my position to the rear." Kokoro relayed her part in the plan.

"By all means. But if a messenger is sent, I do expect you to reply promptly." Aoi asked her.

Kokoro was more than ready, "Of course. We will crush them with superior numbers and superior talent."

And having recovered from her duel with Nagamasa; Margit was back in action, "Margit, are you feeling well?"

"Yes, I can take command. I believe my fighting power is around 70%?" She surmised. She'd been given command of her own elite squad of 50 chosen soldiers, her orders were to attack targets of opportunity.

"Understood. You will leave it to me." Margit nodded in reply.

"Mawahaha! Then we shall deploy the troops!" The S Army commander Hideo Kuki was more than ready himself.

"Hideo, I do hope you appreciate the fact you are our general." Aoi said with a slight worry in his tone.

"Of course, Touma. Our 300 men shall swallow the enemy whole!" Hideo replied pridefully just as Kokoro had.

"Are stadium seats truly what you desire on the battlefield?" Aoi inquired.

"A true hero must carve his own path." But Touma was still careful.

"Jun, would you kindly assist Hideo?" Touma asked his friend.

"For you, Young Master, I'll try, but don't get too hopeful. I've never been much good with little animals." Jun replied.

"Please keep Jun and 10 of our strongest outside recruits as your bodyguards Hideo." Aoi insisted.

Hideo was a bit upset, "He is to be our bodyguard? Nay, is there no other?"

"Dude, what gives? We're both on Spaceship Earth." Jun wondering what the problem was.

And with that now, both armies were now in position just outside the border of the enemy's territory. But for now some time remained before the battle began. Before that international border would vanish.

At the S-Army's war council—

Aoi and Momoyo were discussing things.

"It would seem that the F Army truly moves at Yamato's behest and with Nagamasa as well it seems their morale is buoyed.." Aoi pointed out.

"Haha, that's what I want to hear." Momoyo was getting excited.

"Amakasu-san is simply window dressing, nothing more." Aoi commented.

Koyuki returned and brought everyone tea to drink before the battle. Afterwards, Hideo went to rallying his army and while some were more then willing to chant on the S Army's superiority, some knew that both army's were even in some terms.

Pride was currently at the helm of Hideo's thoughts as Aoi warned him, "That sort of pride can itself cause one's downfall."

But Hideo didn't seem worried at all, "Mwahahaha! Their quest is a dream, a fairytale! A myth of how commoners can surpass the ruing class, should they ban together."

Kokoro agreed, "A laughable idea. The squawking of monkeys can accomplish nothing. They should bow before us. Their eyes affixed to the ground only."

"Then let us show them how fearsome we can be. Oh dearest and only friend, Touma. Bring forth the map of the battlefield.

The class studied the map of the current lay out of the battlefield information they shouldn't have but given the sies they'd had embedded in the F Army they knew how the units were to be mapped out.

But one hope for Aoi was that Momoyo would take the vanguard and help end this battle quickly, but she had refused.

"I'm free to do what I want. I'm pretty sure that's what we agreed to when I joined your side." Momoyo reminded him.

"I suppose I did." Aoi replies.

"Besides look…" Momoyo looked on the map and just like her, she saw that Nagamasa had been put in the rear as well in the west as the F Army's ace. "Heheh, which side will bear fruit first? Come on, Nagamasa…"

But for now…

In the F Army war council—

"Hehe, I always love how a 'light beating' is just enough to make someone reconsider their ways. Makes passing along false info that much sweeter." I commented looking at the battle map. Unlike the original plan, some of units on the Eastern Mountain we're in fact in the west or center.

I had requested it like such.

"Nagamasa, are you sure about this strategy of yours? You'll be alone in the Eastern pass." Moro said with a worried tone.

"Not at all Moro, it's all part of the plan. Besides Kobayakawa needs to be kept in check, Capt's squad should be just the sight needed to keep him as such." I replied. "Besides our strategy relies on the enemy's pride after all."

"He's right, the S Army has Hideo deployed directly on the front lines in front of Tadakatsu. He could be taking us lightly. If anything their army plans to overwhelm by numbers alone, not withstanding their own shock troops." Yamato explained.

"Sorry about this you two, I know for now I'll be in the vanguard. But as soon as I see that breach in their line I have to take it." I nod apologetically to them.

"Not at all Nagamasa! They won't get past me and Ta-chan." Wanko was fired up.

"Hmph, bring it on" Tadakatsu was just as ready.

"But still kid, this plan of yours is risky. You really gonna take on that whole eastern side by yourself?" Lisa asked with a bit of worry.

"Like I said that's part of the plan. Part being the optimal word. Just leave it to me, besides I feel as thought most of the eastern troops on the S-Army will want my head in particular. Some of their Charge units consist of Momoyo's most zealous fans, they'll be gunning for me." I said.

"Homura-san, you'll be in charge of artillery. Your job's to help Miyako with support and above all cause chaos in the front lines. Chaos and control are the heart of our strategy. This will be a battle of endurance, the less morale and disorder in their ranks the better." Yamato turned to Homura.

"You got it!" Homura was pumped as she readied her cannons.

"Mouri, Hachiya; you both know your tasks right?" I ask them.

"Leave it to me, my arrows will beautifully pierce any enemy in their sights." Mouri said with a flick of his hair.

"I will complete my mission. Call for me when needed." Hachiya replied simply.

"Ryuuzoji, use the loose tongue of yours to… convince some of the S-Army of the error of their ways. I'm sure you could get a good following here in the East if you did so." I played to the guy's ego.

"But of course, I will turn over 200 of them by the end of all this. I swear! This shall be the start of my conquest in the East!" Ryuuzoji proclaimed, well moving on…

"M, you know your task right?" I turn to Oomura.

"Yes, should either the front or the west be in danger I will be your trump card, but be warned I may only have the strength to act once. Make your decision carefully." He said.

"So what'll you have me do kid?" Lisa asked us.

"Your job is to eliminate any stragglers who get lost from their units. Don't get too cocky now, if you sense Margit don't engage unless absolutely necessary. Got it?" I ordered her.

She saluted me, "Sir, yes sir!"

"Besides I'll also be using the 80 men from the main brigade to set up an ambush." Yamato relayed.

"Inconceivable. The terrain is too exposed, not only that the enemy will be expecting one." Suguru objected.

"Trust me, I have a plan for that." Yamato replied.

"If Yamato says he has a plan, I trust him." Wanko spoke up for him.

"Alright. Wanko, Gen you and Nagamasa will engage Kuki's force lightly then fall back, in the meantime Nagamasa will pursue his stratagem." Yamato explained the plan.

But Suguru still objected, "Again I say to you, your plan is inconceivable. They will see an ambush coming."

Yamato however was confident, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Bandits, for now we want you at the west of the eastern mountain; you won't be lacking a fight there and we might need you for some action in the center if needed."

One of the thigs laughed, "Heheh… You got it, we'll trample 'em."

"The General HQ staff will be in support of you." Yamato said.

"Yamato, you'll be fighting?" Wanko asked.

"With a numbers disadvantage like this Wanko, we need everyman we can in the thick of it or ready to do so. Besides, he's got a pretty good guardian." I pointed to Cookie.

"Worry not. I will be beside Yamato-san for his protection. Heheh, today is the day I can finally swing my sword with abandon." Cookie laughed.

"Monk unit, when the time comes we will need your support so can you came camp just behind the summit of the eastern camp?" Yamato asked the head monk. "She's made it her mission to target Nagamasa… if our strategy works…"

"But of course, Nagamasa-san will have our full support." The head monk replied.

"Capt, for now you'll be in reserve in the west, but don't worry when things get heated you'll be in the thick of it." Yamato promised.

"Sweet, I trust you." Capt replied.

"Leave the west mountain then to us." The leader of the Third-years replied. "We too shall keep Kobayakawa in check, besides we want to pay those S-class elites back for all they've done."

The sophomore leader's unit was also over there, "And with Kazama-kun by our side we have some elites with us. Leave it us as well."

"And in that leaves only… Momoyo." I pointed out her place on the map. "Knowing her she'll only watch and wait for now. She'll come when she thinks the fight is worthy of her time."

Unfortunately we had no info on the enemy's outside fighters besides there were 10 strong-armed men, but the other forty were a mystery.

That and the only other issue was the opposing Archer unit made of the Archery club, Miyako was our trump card on that front, along with Homura.

In the meanwhile… Kuma-chan was getting dangerously hungry… which was good in our case.

"Our plans are in place, now we have to execute them." I say.

"If we all do our part, we can turn this around." Yamato said.

"Yes… All that remains is to act." Chris said with bated breath.

"Yeah. Mayucchi?" Yamato turned to the lone samurai girl.

"Y-Yes?!" She stood ready.

"Once the battle starts, open up this bag and do exactly what the instructions say." Yamato handed her a small bag.

"All right!" She took said bag with her.

"Nagamasa-san?" Mayucchi called to me.

"Is that it?" Chika asked us as we seemed finished with our war council.

"Mr. Tactician, Lightning, some final words?" Mayo said. Wait, what did she just say?

"Mayo, what did you just call me?" I asked her.

"Oh, some of the army has taken to calling you the Lightning Warrior, because of how fast you are. Actually it had been going around the school for a while before the Kawakami War." Chika told me.

So I had my own nickname huh? Lightning Warrior, huh? Not bad, I suppose.

With some last words needed Yamato said first, "Guys, let's do this!"

With me following up, "Follow your orders to the letter and this battle will be ours!"

The F Army pumped their fists into the sky.

With the war set to begin, the captains of each unit retuned to their respective place.

"Wanko, you're in one of the toughest spots. Hang in there." Yamato told her, but she didn't seem fazed.

"Heheh, well you just wait, because I'm going to get first blood." She proclaimed.

"Haha, sorry Wanko but that'll be me." I said competitively.

"We'll see about that!" She replied in kind.

"Miyako, expect some brash orders to come your way." Yamato told our archer.

She merely smiled and accepted, "You can keep them coming."

"Mayucchi, you're one of our trump cards. We're counting on you." Yamato told Mayucchi.

"Yes, I'll try to be a very sharp card!" She replied. Ah, how cute. "Oh, Nagamasa-san?"

"Yeah?" I asked her. Hmm?

"Do right by Momo-senpai, she deserves it." Mayucchi said with a smile.

"Chris…" Yamato looked to the German girl.

"What?" She asked.

"Your squad will be the difference between victory and defeat; besides Nagamasa's stratagem. You're that important." He told her.

"I am glad to hear you say that Tactician." Chris seemed pumped up hearing those words as she gripped his arm, "I will be your sword, leave it to me!"

"Nagamasa-san…" Chris looked to me.

"Yeah, Chris?" I looked at her curious.

"Momoyo-senpai is quite the woman, do right by her." She told me with a smile

And so it was time to give Momoyo her first taste of defeat at my own hand. But I had to remember I had allies behind me, I wasn't doing this alone.

We'll do this… together!

Tesshin's booming voice could be heard, "Three minutes until the battle begins! Listen! All troops must be in the playing field before the battle begins. Any latecomers will be denied entry!"

Tesshin began the final countdown as I joined Gen and Wanko in the front lines…

"10…!" We heard him.

"Good luck you guys." I tell them.

"You too. Beat her for us, would you?" Gen said.

"No way, I'll be the one to do it. But Nagamasa…" Wanko looked at me for a moment.

"What?" I asked her, her face neutral.

"Make sure you do right by her. Give her everything you got." She told me. Wait, did Momoyo talk to them about something?

"9…!"

In the S-Army front lines, the fighters there were itching for a battle, even Hideo himself as he watched for Kazuko to appear.

"8…!"

Chris was with her unit, doing last second warm-ups.

"7…!"

Yamato send out a signal, "It's time."

"6…!"

Wanko now took the time to meditate, concentrating her ki.

"5…!"

At that moment, two helicopters appeared overhead, and two silhouettes appeared from them as they jumped and appeared in the basin just west of Mayo's position.

"4…!"

"3…!"

At that same moment, Momoyo and I in different places felt a familiar aura appear on the battlefield. They're here! Just in time!

"But what is this?" Momoyo wondered.

"2…!"

"!" She then realized who it was. No she was only one of two who knew of these auras. A certain maid knew it all too well… Actually make that three… from a certain energetic girl in 2-S…

"1…!"

"Was that just my imagination?" Momoyo said.

From my position I was smiling, "I told you Momoyo, we had a surprise for you."

"0…! Let the Kawakami War… BEGIN!" Tesshin bellowed out.

"Haaaaaah!" Screamed both me and Kazuko as we charged in. Just from the looks of some of the frontline troops my appearance was a surprise.

"Attack!" Tadakatsu did the same as his brigade followed after him.

"W-What!?" One S-Army fighter exclaimed.

"I thought Azai was in the rearguard!?" A female fighter said in shock.

"Don't get in my way! Haaah!" In that moment, I battered my way through about 10 fighters some of the others stopped seeing me must've been a shock. "Don't stand in my path, unless defeat is all you wish!"

I continued the charge alongside Wanko and Gen, with enemy troops falling before us like dominoes between me and Wanko.

"There! Attack the gap, before they can regroup!" There was my chance and in the perfect direction I had to go in too.

"Leave it to me! Seyah!" Cutting my way into the enemy's eastern ine I blew through soldier after soldier.

"Hey! Hey! No one said they'd be this valiant!" Jun groaned seeing the brave effort of the F Army.

"What else would you expect from someone like Kazuko-dono! She charges into a mass of 300 without a speck of fear! Mwahaha!" Hideo was having the time of his life.

"General, our troops are shell-shocked. Especially after seeing Nagamasa in the front line… I thought they were saving him for later…" Jun mused wondering what this meant.

"Do not panic! We have them outnumbered!" Hideo tried to rally his group. "Surround them! Cut off their retreat!"

"You'll need more men then this to stop me!" The two turned to see me, immediately the ten bodyguards moved to protect Hideo, but…

I merely jumped on one of their heads and began running the other direction… towards the east.

"Besides, I don't need the head of some spoon-fed noble to sate my blade, catch you later!" I taunted Hideo before continuing on.

"Hideo, don't fall for it…" Jun tried to warn him.

"Some of you pursue him! Make him pay for his insolent words!" At Hideo's command about 50 soldiers from his brigade peeled off and chased after him.

"Oi, oi what're you doing?!" Jun was indignant.

"He is only one man, eventually he will fall and know his place." Hideo answered.

"Haah, I should've stayed home." Jun groaned in annoyance.

Back with Kazuko and Gen they say me running towards the east and knew my plan had begun; Wanko smiled as she saw the enemy chase after me, "Good luck, Nagamasa!"

"There numbers are fewer now, even by a little push that gap!" Gen ordered his troops forth.

And now continued the battle of forces now numbering 250 and 70. Though between me and Kazuko that number had been decreased by about 40.

Nagamasa's POV - Eastern Mountain

"I'm surprised these lot are that persistent, but that makes things even more better. Oh, and it looks like our guests have almost arrived near the summit, now then… to take a quick shortcut." After having studied a map of Tanzawa, I had figured out that indeed a historical battle had taken place here.

Although it was easier to say it was a skirmish, during the Sengoku period; a Hojo force had taken camp here in these very mountains against a Satomi force while being outnumbered by nearly 3 to 1 odds.

The reason for the Hojo victory? Element of surprise. The reason being unlike the western mountain, the eastern mountain while it had it's main paths up the summit there were in fact hidden passages throughout the mountain that had been naturally made.

The Hojo would lead bands of small soldiers and raid the Satomi as they would attempt to race up the mountain to take the position. After incurring so many losses, they were forced to retreat.

Now… it was my turn, but I wasn't alone. I reached for my belt and pulled out a blue signal gun. Reaching the summit first, I fired it into the air.

2-F Main Camp

At the 2-F camp, the others saw a blue signal flare, meaning that Nagamasa had made it to the summit first before the S-Army could.

"Good job, Nagamasa! Now then… we'll leave it to you." Yamato said.

"Yamato, what exactly is Nagamasa's whole plan exactly?" Chika asked.

"I'm glad you asked…" and so Yamato explained it. '

"You're kidding!" Chika was shocked to hear the plan in it's entirety.

"If he does that the battle will be a piece of cake!" Even Mayo was astounded by hearing Nagamasa's seemingly ludicrous idea.

"Don't worry; he asked to do this. We just have to have faith in him now…" Yamato looked back at the blue smoke in the air and smiled.

Back on the E. Mountain

Just as I had reached the summit I could see the enemy's Charge unit and troops from some of the first year classes, and the soldiers of Hideo's unit climbed the mountain spotted me as I placed my sword in the ground. About 200 or so soldiers stood in front of me as I made myself known.

[Play Petals in the Wind (Toyotomi) – Osaka Castle from Spirit of Sanada]

I bellowed out, "I am Nagamasa Azai! To any of you in the S Army who wish to face me! Know it'll be at your own cost!"

"What!? He's up there all by himself!" One shock troop said in surprise seeing me alone.

One of the Charge Unit troops; a unit of Momoyo and Touma's most zealous fans seemed unfazed however, "Heh! Who does he think he is! After him!"

"Hehe, so they're all coming for me? Just as planned…" Taking up my sword, I ran down the mountain towards the group right in front of me.

"Out of my way! Azai-Style: Wind Slasher!" With three large swings as I dashed forth, I sheathed my blade as I came to a stop, in which afterwards about 15 troops fell to the floor.

Some of the enemy were once again shell-shocked as they saw their comrades fall so easily, "He's still only one guy! Spread out and get him!"

Well that's my cue! Turning in the other direction I headed for one of the said hidden passages I had learned about and lost my pursuers who were stumped now.

"Where did he go?! I thought this mountain was just a straight shot up?" One female solider noted in frustration.

Coming from another passage, "Haaaah!" I took down another group of about 10 soldiers this time. No matter what I can't let them take the mountain.

"W-Where did he come from?! I thought this mountain only had one path up!" Another S-Army soldier panicked and before he knew it he was eliminated.

However despite the panic from my disappearance some stood defiant, mostly the S-Army shock troops.

"Don't stop the pressure! We'll get 'em eventually! Everyone bunch up, we'll outnumber him!" A shock troop said.

Having made my way back up the mountain I taunted the troops below again, "Haha! This is the best S-Class has to offer and you lot call yourself fans of Momoyo and Touma? How pathetic!"

"How dare you!" One solider was enraged as she and several of her comrades charged this time numbering thirty.

"Not enough to stop me! Azai-Style: Eternal Rain!" Unsheathing my blade and with a speed I hadn't used until now after all my training had brought me too, I quickly drew and after a few seconds nearly all of them were knocked out.

That was 55, nearly one-fourth gone already… As I continued fighting my thoughts began to wander, thinking back to my namesake.

"The real Nagamasa stood by what he believed in. Every time I think of it I always wondered what drove him to keep resisting a man he knew was superior. But know I truly understand, it wasn't just his pride, he had a true resolve in his beliefs… right to the very end"

As I continued to batter my way through more troops, I eventually counted half of them defeated…

"I have a promise I have to fulfill, and people I have to protect. I won't fall her until I face her… Momoyo… Haaaah!" And so I slice my way through the enemy ranks. But this was not going unnoticed.

S-Army Main Camp

"Is this true? Nagamasa-san is defending the eastern mountain alone and has nearly defeated one-ninth of our army?" Aoi asked the messenger.

"Y-Yes, it's like he's some kind of monster… he keeps appearing and reappearing. No one can tell where he'll come from next." The messenger relayed.

"I see… I see… so the info we received was false. And now Nagamasa-san is holding one of the most important strategic points on the battlefield. Impressive…:" Aoi continued to show a clam demeanor.

"Are things bad now Touma?" Koyuki asked her friend.

"I didn't expect such a development, Nagamasa-san has impressed me today. But unfortunately it's forcing me to change our plans." Aoi took out his phone and called the only one he knew could calm his troops down.

2-S Operative Unit

Margit was already on the move, but then she received a message from Aoi, 'Head for the Eastern Mountain and contain our troops, they're panicking."

"Panicking, but the enemy shouldn't be more than brigands… Very well, I shall head there. All troops follow me!" And with that Margit and her unit headed for the eastern mountain and when she arrived.

"What in the…?" She saw her own ally's strewn about on the ground defeated. "Who did this…?"

"A-Azai…" One defeated troop groggily whispered out.

"Nagamasa is here!? But I thought he had been in the rearguard as their ace?" It was then Margit saw the situation for what it was.

She looked up to see troops fleeing, she stomped and bellowed out, "Where are you going!? There is only one enemy on the summit! You will stand and fight! Surround him and do not let him escape!"

Scared by the German solider, the enemy found what confidence they could and charged back up the mountain.

I watched as the enemy charged back up the mountain, but I noticed they seemed to have rallied a bit, that meant they now had a commander to stir them back up.

"Margit's here… I'm going to need her to leave to make things work." And so I continued on my goal.

I then fired another flare this time, a green one which I'm sure now had gotten the S-Army's attention, but it was for a very specific reason…

Back in the northwest, Fushikawa Kokoro was waiting patiently, for now all she had to do was wait. She would be the one to deal the finishing blow to those pesky monkeys and then victory would be there's for the taking.

She then had a messenger run up to her camp, "Touma asks that you send aid to the east, he needs 100 men to take the eastern mountain."

"Hmm? Very well, I can more than make do with 200 troops. Take the rearguard and head for the eastern mountain, cross the river and crush those F-Class vermin!" Kokoro ordered.

As she did so the "messenger" left and after finding cover, shed his disguise revealing him to be the ninja Hachiya.

"I have dome my part Azai, good luck to you." He then disappeared off to wait for his next assignment.

Back on the mountain, continued to defeat the enemy as they appeared, and I hadn't even broken a sweat yet. By my own count I had now defeated nearly 150 enemies by now. The enemy had to be on their last legs.

"Things have gone from bad to worse, I will have to stop this momentum of his. Follow me!" Margit charged in along with her shock troops.

Sensing a feral presence, I turned and knew exactly who it was, "Margit!" I blocked her attack as she came at me from above pushing her back.

"To face you like this again, I feel as though fate continues to bring us to fight each other. And now I can keep my promise to you Nagamasa Azai!" Without any other need for words, the Hound of Germany charged in as we did battle.

Despite the fact I knew she had to not be at her full strength even without her eyepatch, I knew she was still dangerous her tonfa strikes were just as heavy as last time, but I'm a different person now.

"Haah!" With another Wind Slasher, I pushed her back even further, the shockwave knocking back a few of her troops.

"Your strikes are just as heavy as before, I can feel your resolve in every one of them. But today will be different!" Margit's lust for battle hadn't diminished. But now was the time for my third phase.

This time firing an orange flare, and it's recipient saw the sign…

"Now then… time for me to make my debut!" Mouri prepared his crossbow as he loaded it and took aim.

"Triple Style: Heaven's Rain!" And fired loose a volley, however unlike normal archers, Mouri's favored styler allowed him to fire off multiple volleys of arrows at a single time. Three to be specific.

But using his repeating crossbow, he was able to create a barrage similar to that as if a line of archers were firing.

As he arrows soared they raced toward the Eastern Mountain…

"Haah! Seya!" Margit and I's battle continued when… A rain of arrows struck the troops that had rallied and by the rules of elimination had been defeated. I counted… 80 of them. Egotist he may be, but a damn good archer.

"Archers? But I thought the 2-F army only had one archer on their side?!" Margit said shocked.

"Well it pays to have good connections. You of all people should never underestimate an enemy, but while I have nothing but praise you, I cannot relinquish this ground." I proclaimed to her, my resolve more than seeable in my eyes.

"I applaud your efforts, but this time will be different, come at me!" She charged at me, but then…

"Hah!"

"Kya!"

"Gah!"

Some of the S-Army soldiers behind her fell one by one, and I knew who it had to be, "Hey kid! I thought you might needed some help so mopped up the rest for ya!"

"Lisa!? What're you doing here!?" Margit's mouth was hanging open from the shock.

"Hehe, because of you! Cause of your loss, they sent me to see what the big deal was, and let me tell you. This kid's good, but now I got a promise to keep. Go on ahead kid, the mountain's clear… do what you need to do…" Lisa spat out her stick and for once a look of seriousness crossed her gaze.

Sprinting past Margit I said, "Thanks, I'll keep up my end."

"You won't… Aah!" Margit was forced to block a tanto that Lisa had unsheathed as she attacked with another, forcing Margit to use her other tonfa to block.

"Sorry boss, but this time I'm serious. You ain't getting past me." Lisa's brow furrowed as she took a battle stance.

"You? Beat me?! Ludicrous, in all our duels I was always the victor!" Margit reminded her.

"And this time… I got a reason to win." Lisa simply replied.

"Haaaah!" The two collided as the Hound and Ninja battled in the east.

The east was now in our hands… and if Hachiya delivered that fake message in time…

No, this war has only just begun…

2-S Main Base

"Hidden passages… a hidden archer, and now a fake messenger who's tricked Fushikawa… I had thought that Nagamasa was simply being brash, but we clearly underestimated him. Now the F Army will occupy the mountaintop and Margit hasn't reported in." Aoi pondered. "Nagamasa-san, you truly are a great warrior… dare I say you are starting to become one of the greatest warriors since Momoyo."

"Touma, what're we gonna do?" Koyuki asked him.

"For now we have no choice but to rely on our aces, and hopefully Momoyo-san will move. When that time comes… I don't know…" Aoi seemed lost for words. All he could do now was rely on the manpower he had now.

Back with me, I made my way down the mountain, as I finally messaged in to Yamato, "Yamato did you see the signal flares?"

"You beautiful SOB you did it! We're heading for the mountaintop, and Capt's unit is already heading for the central field to help Tadakatsu's unit and Kazuko, they've begun their retreat." Yamato replies.

"Alright, Fushikawa's diverted troops should almost be at the river and you have the S-Class Unit to deal with, but I'm sure you guys can hold down the fort without me. I'll meet up with our little friends on the river. See ya." I hang up the phone and make my way down the path.

Tanzawa River

The Fushikawa division of 100 that had been sent on a false call for reinforcements was fording the shallow point in the river that led to the east, as they marched on little did they know a force was waiting like snakes in the grass.

"Not yet… everyone stay down… for now just hold on…" Toshimaru's voice silently echoed to her 25 compatriots. She'd been told of her job. That a division of S-Army soldiers were to be passing the river at its shallowest point, and lucky for them this area of the river had reed grass that obscured the path forward.

She waited patiently as the enemy column marched slowly, too early and they could regroup and push them back, too late and they'd escape and call for help.

Just as the last line of enemies past the river…

"Now stand! All of you follow me!" Toshimaru bellowed loudly as her squad surrounded and rushed the stranded division on the other side of the river.

"There only a small group, breakthrough and get to the other side!" The leader of the group tried to rally his men, but then suddenly.

"Haaaah!" I appeared and battered through the front of his group taking with me about 20 of his men in the process.

"Good to see you hotshot! Now help us clean things up will ya!" Toshimaru smiled as she spotted me.

"Got it!" And in doing so we quickly mopped up the remaining units as some inevitably surrendered to us.

"And not a single loss, good on Toshimaru. Form up, Yamato wants you to help in the ambush on Kuki's brigade. You're to attack from behind after the main ambush has been finished. You'll be joined by Kazama's unit after that." I explain to her.

"Alright, you got it. You heard him people! Get moving!" Geez, if anything this girl sounds like Chris, a natural born leader. "Hey, what's that look for huh?"

"Just impressed is all. You'll be fine warrior in your own right Toshimaru, now I got things to do. See ya." With that I was off…

2-F Intelligence Unit

"I knew Nagamasa was strong, but he's really crazy!" Kazama praised his friend.

"Yeah, I see him as a fellow man now." Gakuto did the same.

"Alright you two head out and assist the Minamoto brigade. After that you're free to do as you please!" Yamato ordered.

"Alright, we'll be giving Tadakatsu some backup! Let's go!" With that Capt and Gakuto led the fresh Osaka Squad 1 down the mountaintop.

"Hey, looks like some bastards are coming on up." A thug from the Bandit unit spotted the S-Army unit coming up the mountain top.

"Those are freshmen troops. Can you guys hold them off? We need to maintain the summit. Can you hold off those 50 troops?" Yamato asked the Bandit captain.

"You got it boss man, let's rough 'em up boys!" The thug captain led his goons down the mountain at the freshman, despite being students at a martial arts school the bandit unit was more then able to make up for it with their street fighting experience.

Suguru led the Intelligence Unit's men to finish off any survivors that had still survived Nagamasa's initial attack somehow.

"Yonpachi? Are they ready?" Yamato turned to see the monkey handling Kuma-chan.

"Huff… huff…" His heavy breathing showing his hunger becoming ravenous now.

"Now we can watch the battlefield from her on the mountain top." Yamato noted.

"But please don't forget the 50 people trying to kill us." Moro pointed out.

"I'll take care of that part sooner or later. Depending. The action is the middle of the field is about to heat up." Yamato pointed out. "It's all up to you Gen-san."

Main Battlefield

In the main fight between Hideo's army and Tadakatsu's brigade…

"Seeyah!" Kazuko kept up the attack, like a dancer she flowed with the battle her naginata spinning as if an extension of her body.

When an enemy warrior rushed in with a shinai, she blocked it and then swept his legs from under him. By this point nearly 30 or 40 soldiers had fallen before her. Only by then did she realize she'd been surrounded.

Jun directed the troops to capture her, but she parried their attacks however one hidden solider nearly got in a direct attack if not for the spear being punched.

"Ta-chan!" She called to her rescuer.

"We ain't doing too good now. We got pull back Kazuko." He told her.

"But… I can still fight." She insisted.

"We've lost to many of our own. We can run now, or we get wiped out." Tadakatsu told her.

"You won't get away! Take them both down, here and now!" Jun ordered another squad to catch them, but soon a few of Tadakatsu's soldiers came to their aid.

"They really adore you." Kazuko pointed out.

"Shut up." He told her as he turned to his group, "Group up, we're breaking through!" And so with that rallying cry from their commander the Tadakatsu Brigade broke through the ring of S-Army soldiers in their way.

Back on the Mountain HQ of the F Army…

"Okay Tadakatsu's brigade has begun to retreat." And he chosen the best time to retreat as well.

Yamato knew that given Hideo's personality that despite the fact that even if Touma knew there was an ambush and warned Hideo, that the young man's personality would blind him to the danger.

With Hideo's Brigade…

Jun warned Hideo of just that, that he'd feared an ambush and that the eastern mountain had been taken.

"Mwahaha! Unacceptable!" Hideo refused to budge. "The enemy flees before me, why should I spare them at their weakest?"

"Are you even listening fool!? It's a trap!" Jun loudly warned him again

"You think this army would quiver beneath a petty tactic like an ambush? We still have a mighty 150 men at our disposal. Crush them!" Hideo signaled to continue the march.

Back at the F Army's HQ, the Intel Unit watched as Hideo's unit continued to advance.

"I feel sorry for Aoi Touma. You must have seen this coming. Moro, launch the signal firework when I raise my hand." Yamato told him.

"Okay, you got it." Moro nodded as he readied it.

"Report: The Fushikawa division that was diverted to the river has been eliminated, the Raid unit led by Saito is advancing downstream to assist in the ambush." Suguru reported.

"And she hasn't noticed a thing. Keep acting calm and composed Fushikawa." Yamato replied.

"Nagamasa has reported in: Margit is engaged with Lisa Blinker and her unit itself has been eliminated from play." Suguru continued.

"Without her aid, the Hideo unit will be all but isolated on the river. And our friend is ready for action… But it looks like Gen's retreated back enough right now. Give the signal, Moro!" Yamato raised his hand.

With that Moro launched the signal firework high into the air, even the Hideo Brigade could see it.

"First Nagamasa's now that… what was that meant to signal?" Jun noticed.

"Sir, an ambush from the forest!" One Hideo solider reported.

And then again and again more and more ambush parties of about 10 troops appeared from multiple directions.

It was at this point, the Tadakatsu Brigade stopped their retreat and made an about face back the Hideo Brigade, "Stop the retreat! About face! Charge!"

And from behind them downstream, a young girl jumped in the air he spear flew as it splashed the water, Hideo soldiers falling one by one.

"Follow after me! Anyone who tries will face my lance!" Toshimaru's raid unit of 25 had appeared from right behind the Hideo Brigade.

"W-We're completely surrounded!" A Hideo solider panicked. As the numbers currently stood with their assistance of the 80 ambush troops, plus Toshirmaru's raid unit along with Tadakatsu's remaining men the fight was now a dead even.

"I've been waiting for this!" Kazuko cheered as she turned back to the fighting. And the five soldiers that had been pursuing her in the rear guard fell in an instant the moment she counterattacked.

Just as things looked bad, Hideo now seeing the peril his unit was in tried to rally them.

"Wow. Nice job Gener—" Jun stopped as he sensed a large presence nearby.

"Christiane Friedrich is here!" Chris's second Squad had been the first to arrive at the river. Now the Hideo's forces were now being well and truly surrounded. "Pierce through the enemy unit!"

"That strike force is parting the Red Sea like Moses!" Jun was in complete shock.

"What is that unit! Hoe do they have such tremendous strength?" Even Hideo knew Chris's unit was different than the others.

"Shit—our battle lines are falling apart." With Chris's unit now having pierced through Hideo's unit she turned to finish the job.

"Tch, there is no recovery from this. We have no choice, we must withdraw for now." Hideo finally saw the writing on the wall.

Jun was elated, "Good decision. Heck, we'll pull ourselves together in no time."

"I have found you, General!" Chris set her sights on Hideo Kuki. His bodyguards tried to resist but her rapier was like a force of nature.

But in the final two ranks, she ran into resistance, for Kuki's personal guard were the elite of their troops.

And so as powerful as Chris's charge was, the wall that was Inoue Jun stopped it

"You're out of position! Guards, surround and capture her!" Jun ordered the elite guards.

"Kh. Did my fervor get the best of me?" Chris began to notice her situation worsen as the guards formed a circle around her.

But to her aid was none other than Kazuko, "Hold it right there!"

They took their stances now fighting back to back together, "You never think ahead, do you Kri?"

"I do not want to hear that from you, Dog. Yet you have saved me. I owe you a debt." Chris thanked Kazuko.

"Hem-hem. And don't you forget it." Kazuko remembered.

It was then that Hideo ordered a retreat once more, the guards rejoined them ensuring his safety, but just then another group appeared from the east.

"Osaka Squad 1, let's get 'em!" Kazama charged in along with Gakuto and the others.

Hideo was now angry seeing his main rival, "Kazama!"

"That's an eleventh ambush! What the heck!?" Jun was now baffled at the amount of enemies being thrown at them.

"Charge! Take out the general!" Gakuto directed the men under him.

"Hideo, run! I can handle this myself. I'm a grade 3 bookkeeper after all!" Jun decided to cover Hideo's retreat. "All bodyguards will hand this, you get to the back lines!"

"You have our gratitude, lolicon." Hideo "thanked" him.

"You sure don't sound grateful!" Jun yelled back.

The guards stood in Capt and Gakuto's path, but their new momentum was too much for them to handle.

Just as Jun was readying to fight Gakuto and got into his stance an aura from behind interrupted him, flexibly he blocked the arrow that was shot at him, but…

"Handsome Lariat!" Gakuto shouted out as he full on clotheslined Jun, and with Gakuto's undaunted strength Jun could only see the outline of Miyako as he fell unconscious.

"Inoue Jun was nothing before the power of my fists!" Gakuto loudly chants

But just as Hideo retreats… he meets up with a still standing Margit…

"Margit, where are the others of your unit?" Hideo looked to see that Margit only had about 10 men with her.

"I was caught up in a previous engagement. Touma informed me of your struggle and I came as soon as I could." Margit told her.

And so with that remained of Margit's men and Hideo's bodyguards they continued their retreat.

"Tch…" Margit noted a cut on her arm, but she wouldn't let it get to her.

Back at the bottom of the E. Mountain, the crumpled up body of Lisa stood on the ground as she looked to the sunny sky above.

"Haha, just like all the other times… but this time I got in a hit. Alright Hound, let's see you stay up now… guess I at least got a good story to tell the girls when I get back. I'm leving the rest up to you, kid." And with the Lisa Blinker fell unconscious too.

But despite her defeat the main unit of the F Army was now high on morale and stronger than before its initial losses.

And with that first part over, the war approached it's second phase…
