Ep.1.0

It was a day like any other, except for the fact that these "things" were still doing nothing. Usagi would go past a few then breathe. It was her new routine.

She was on time to school these days because she would find herself having random nightmares about these things.

In one of these nightmares, she was dreaming of sitting at a cafe with Mamoru and Chibiusa. They were having a great time, when suddenly, her heart sank as she saw that one of those "things" was staring at her through the window of the Cafe. She looked at Mamoru and Chibiusa, who were clueless about the thing outside. but then she noticed that there was one standing behind Chibiusa, just staring down at her.

(Usagi) GET AWAY FROM HER!

It was morning, her hand was stretched out in front of her as she did in the dream. She also had tears in her eyes. This was a normal occurrence for her after she started seeing those things daily.

She got ready and followed through her usual routine of getting ready, leaving the house and avoiding those "things" as best she could. But now there were more of them, everywhere.

Although she was terrified, she kept her usual calm and cheery demeanor, just like everyone else.

The day went about as normal as could be when there seemed to be dead people walking everywhere.

Although . . . Usagi was the first to see it, even after she wished so many times it wouldn't be.

She thought the call was from a scared civilian and a new enemy to blame the "things" on.

She thought it would bring her peace to fight a new enemy.

Just SOMETHING to wake her up from this nightmare!

As she walked with Ami, Minako and Makoto, she heard a woman scream, just like the other times when a new enemy made first contact.

Before the other girls could react, Usagi was already running towards the origin of the sound. But this time, as she got nearer, people were running the opposite way.

When she got to the scene, she couldn't see, but after the crowd cleared, she could only cover her own screams with her hand and shake her head as she watched with terror in her eyes. The sight she saw was instantly

burned within her memory.

The woman who had screamed, a pool of blood had formed around her as she continued to scream in pain and fear. One of those "things" had ripped open her abdomen and was eating the innards of the woman who called for help.

As the Infected feasted on her body, she made one last effort to scream for help. Afterwards, Usagi was able to see the life fade from her eyes as she died right there in front of her.

The Infected was completely unbothered by the woman and Usagi. The only thing she could do at this point was run back the way she came to warn the others. But as she rounded to street corner, she was stopped by the

other four Sailor Guardians.

Each one seemed hopeful and ready to fight.

(Ami) We went and got Rei before we all came here.

Each of the girls became confused.

(Minako) Sailor Moon, are you okay? You look scared.

Usagi ignored everyone else and focused on Rei.

(Usagi) Rei, how secure is the Temple!?

(Rei) It can only be accessed by the front gates and that's it, the walls are too tall for anything to be able to climb over. Why? What happened?

Everyone grew concerned, but Rei was annoyed.

(Usagi) Everyone, grab your families and head to the Temple, NOW!

(Rei) (Annoyed) Hey, you have no right to be barking orders at ME! What's gotten into you Usagi?

(Usagi) I'll explain later, also Rei, do you know where I live?

(Rei) Yeah, but why-

(Usagi) Get my family to the Temple as well. But be careful, DON'T LET "THEM" GET NEAR YOU. I don't want you to see what's around th-

(Rei) Oh just show us already!

Rei pushed passed Usagi and saw the scene on the next street and reeling back in horror, she just stood there, frozen in fear. Her eyes were constricted while she focused on the sad and horrific reality that was before them

(Rei) no... no no no, this- This can't be happening. Right?

Rei quickly turned her head to Usagi, hoping for some kind of relief, but to no avail.

(Usagi) I'm sorry Rei. But you need you and the others to get our families to the Temple.

Rei took a moment to process the information, shocked by what she just heard.

(Rei) HOW!? How do you expect us to get them there without running into one of these things?

(Usagi) Use you powers...

(Rei) No. No, those powers were given to us to DEFEND those who couldn't defend themselves. They are for defending the people of this planet, not murder!

(Ami) Murder!?

(Makoto) Rei! WHat the hell are you talking about?

(Usagi) EVERYONE!

The sound was so loud in the silence that it shocked everyone else.

(Usagi) Unfortunately, I need you to see what I'm about to do. Come.

Usagi walked back out onto the street, everyone else followed.

The Infected was still feeding on the body.

Ami started to quietly cry, Makoto fell to her knees, Minako couldn't do anything but stare at the horror and Rei just watched, shaking where she stood.

Usagi stepped forward.

(Usagi) Hey!

Now, the Infected person stopped and turned to her. It was a businessman. His skin was normal, but his eyes were white and foggy. His mouth area was wet from the blood and it just started at her for a moment, breathing heavily.

Then suddenly, it started running towards her.

Usagi then took off her tiara. Then she muttered something the other girls couldn't hear. The tiara then levitated and started to spin rapidly.

Then it flew from her hands and into the sky.

The Infected was closing the distance.

But when the Infected was within 100 meters of Usagi, the tiara went right through its neck. There wasn't even a sound. Just the sound of the tiara vibrating as it spun and came to a stop in Usagi's hands.

There was now a gaping hole in the Infected person's neck. He tripped and fell, never to move again.

Usagi turned to the girls who just stared at her with horror in their eyes.

(Ami) What... did... you DO?

(Minako) She just killed that person...

(Makoto) Usagi... Why...?

Rei just ran up to her and grabbed her collar as tightly as she could and screamed at Usagi with tears in her eyes.

(Rei) WHY!? THAT WAS A PERSON! YOU JUST KILLED A HUMAN BEING WITH YOUR POWERS!

Usagi put her hand on Rei's shoulder.

Rei looked into Usagi's eyes. It wasn't until now that Rei saw that Usagi had tears forming in her own eyes.

(Usagi) He wasn't human anymore... Didn't you see that poor woman? She cried for our help and now she's dead.

(Usagi) She's dead because we were too late to save her.

After a while, everyone understood, to a point, what Usagi was asking them to do.

Each one went home and grabbed whatever family they could.

Usagi went home, took her parents, Luna her little brother to the Temple. She also called Mamoru to come and he said that he was on his way.

Minako brought her parents and Artemis with her to the Temple.

Rei ran to the Temple and explained the situation to Grandpa Hino, who thankfully understood the situation, closed the gates and prepared rooms for their many guests.

Makoto went with Ami to find her mother at home.

After getting everyone to the Temple, the girls reverted to their normal selves.

Everyone then realized that their families didn't know that they were the Sailor Guardians protecting the city and the world.

(Kenji) What the... Usagi. YOU'RE Sailor Moon?

(Hino) And Rei... You're Sailor Mars?

(Ikuko) So for the last year and a half, you five have been secretly protecting us from everything that threatened us. Even going so far as to put you're lives at risk. Why did you keep this from us? Or is this when you planned to reveal that?

Usagi and the other four guardians felt the eyes on them but then, Usagi spoke for all of them. In a calm and cool manner but with a strict undertone.

(Usagi) Everyone, before you ask us that, I want to ask you something. What if we had told you from the very beginning what we were doing? Would you have tried to stop us? Would you wait and worry from us every time we went to fight?

(Usagi) And if you had tried to stop us then, what comes? That would prevent us from saving the dozens or even hundreds of people we are tasked with saving every time there is a threat to this world of ours.

(Usagi) But! There are more important things that need to be taken care of. We need to get everyone situated, then we need to arm every one of the adults. We have our powers, but we won't always be here to defend you as we will be out trying to find resources.

After Usagi's speech, everyone got to work organizing their new living spaces. It was awkward though, families were looking at their daughters differently. Some still couldn't believe that their family member was something similar to a vigilante, risking their lives for complete strangers almost all the time, meanwhile, there they were right next to them, never knowing what they were doing when they left for school in the morning.

After a while everyone was settled down. The girls all transformed at were about to leave when Hino caught them.

(Hino) Already off to save the world again huh?

Hino came over and was prepared to lock the gate behind them.

As the girls descended the long flight of stairs, Hino called to them.

(Hino) Hey! Wait!

The girls looked back, half expecting Hino to try and get them to come back.

(Hino) It may not look it, but we're all extremely proud of what you girls have done for all of us.

The girls smiled a little.

(Hino) Stay safe out there, okay?

(Rei) We will!

The girls set out to find food for the evening, and maybe some seeds for growing food long term.

As they got to the last steps, a small red car pulled up to them.

Thankfully it was Mamoru.

(Mamoru) Hey guys!

(Usagi) MAMO!

Everyone watched their strict and tough leader become the cutesy and childish girl they were used to.

The two embraced each other, holding each other for a while before letting go.

(Mamoru) So where are you guys off to?

(Usagi) We're gonna looks for some food this evening and maybe some seeds that we can plant for long term survival.

Mamoru laughed, like he hadn't expected that response.

(Mamoru) Survival? What are you talking about?

Everyone in return was just as surprised. But watched as Usagi began to seethe with rage, but kept her composure.

Usagi then responded with a flat but clearly angry response

(Usagi) What's so funny Mamoru?

Mamoru was taken aback for a second. Like the girls, before the Infected started appearing, nobody had ever seen Usagi be as serious, strict or even get as angry as she did now. It was like a switch was flipped and this was just her now...

(Mamoru) Woah, Usako. I'm sorry, I just don't understand what you're talking about. There's nothing wrong right now.

(Usagi) You haven't seen the dozens of people that look like they should be in a morgue!? The lady that got her abdomen RIPPED OPEN IN PUBLIC? None of that?

(Mamoru) No, I haven't seen any of that. Also, that second thing though, wasn't that a crazed person who stabbed a woman then cut his own head off minutes later?

(Usagi) No, because I cut his head off!

(Mamoru) YOU WHAT!? Usako, please, this isn't funny anymore.

(Rei) No, she's serious and it did happen. That person wasn't crazed though, they were infected by something. They ripped that poor woman's abdomen open with his bare hands.

(Mamoru) What... But the police I talked to at the scene today said that it was a murder suicide... Why would they lie?

(Ami) Well, were they the actual police?

(Mamoru) I...

(Usagi) I think our should go inside with our families. Get yourself settled.

(Mamoru) Okay...

(Usagi) And Mamoru. Don't say a word about what we've talked about or the incident today. Don't cause a panic.

It was weird. Normally, Usagi was head over heels for Mamoru, not caring about anything else but being with him, but right now, it seemed like she was the most brutal so far with him.

(Usagi) C'mon, let's find something for everyone. Oh yeah, before I forget. Rei, does the Temple have a way to cook something?

(Rei) Yeah, there's a whole kitchen.

(Usagi) Oh then.

Usagi seemed to lighten up a little bit.

The group travelled in Sailor form to find what they needed.

First, they went to a Garden store to look for food seeds. Ami was able to find seeds for some fruits and vegetables, even getting as lucky as to find a sack of fresh potatoes.

They took the items back to the Temple but went back out to search for other items.

While they were out, they saw that another infected was consuming another person, who at this point, was

long dead.

Usagi prepared to throw her Moon Tiara Boomerang, Rei stepped next to her and powered up her Mars Flame Sniper and fired an arrow.

When the arrow made contact, the Infected and the person that fell victim to them were set ablaze, burning until they were nothing more than ashes.

The were able to find a butcher shop that was empty of any people, so they took a dozen pounds of meat with them back to to Temple with their gains and shared it with everyone.

Everyone celebrated the small victory in the growing depression they were in.

When she went back to the Temple though, she acted more like her normal self around her family and Mamoru.

The sun had set and everyone was gathering in the main room for dinner, as if the outside world didn't exist for a brief moment.

The girls were all in the room as well, but it was Minako that noticed that Usagi was missing and went to find her.

She checked outside, in her family's room, but she was nowhere to be seen.

She found Luna about to enter the Main room with Artemis.

(Minako) Wait, Luna! Have you seen Usagi anywhere?

(Luna) What're you talking about, isn't she in here with you guys?

(Minako) No, I checked everywhere and nothing.

(Artemis) You don't think she went out there this late at night do you?

(Luna) . . . Minako, I'll go with you.

Minako transformed and jumped onto and over the wall.

As she made her way down the long flight of steps, she saw something shine at the bottom.

She ran faster with Luna on her shoulder.

But as she got closer, she heard a voice. It was Usagi's but she sounded like she was in a fit of rage.

When Minako made it to the bottom, there she was. blood splattered on her uniform, Sailor Moon.

But before her, were a dozen Infected bodies that her tiara had flown through.

Luna was about to speak, but Minako hid herself and Luna behind a bush, watching Usagi.

Usagi heard a noise and looked in their direction, but quickly turned away to launch her Tiara at an infected that was screeching as it ran towards her.

The tiara flew right through the Infected's upper chest cavity and it fell before her.

Then, Sailor Moon pulled out her main weapon, her Spiral Heart Moon Rod. But something happened. A flash overcame Minako and Luna, and now the rod, was now a katana. It had a red Hilt, white guard, a white sheath and a golden blade.

Although Minako and Luna were taken by surprise, Sailor Moon seemed completely unfazed, as if she had done this before.

Before long, a few more were mindlessly charging at her.

As they came, she slashed them, one after another.

But as she cut them down, she was crying. Loudly.

(Usagi) Why... Why did this have to happen?

Another one rushed her and she screamed as she cut them down:

(Usagi) WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BRING THIS WORLD TO RUIN!? WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO SUFFER BECAUSE OF YOU!? AND WHY DID YOU HAVE TO KILL THAT POOR WOMAN!? SHE WAS INNOCENT!

It seemed like every one of them had been cut down.

She returned to her normal self and started walking back up to the Temple, quietly sobbing as she did so.

Minako ran to another side and ran up to the wall and jumped back over before Usagi could find out that she was seen.

As Usagi returned, she wiped the tears away and joined her family.

Minako returned to the girls like normal.

(Makoto) Hey, so you found Usagi? Where was she?

(Minako) We as a group need to talk to Usagi later, I'll need to talk to you Rei and Ami first though.

(Makoto) What happened?
