Pokémon Paparazzi
It's a beautiful day today. Jovan, July, Anna, Dragonair and Eevee were sitting on a blue checkered picnic blanket as Brock, Seth and Slade were making some rice balls. Ash was sitting down in between Misty and Pikachu. The raven-haired trainer and Pikachu were eating their rice balls while Misty was feeding Togepi.
"These are good rice balls." Jovan said.
"Thanks." Seth replied as Brock caught a rice ball in his hand.
"There's plenty to go around." Brock said as he continued to make another rice ball.
As our heroes enjoy a delicious meal, they are completely unaware being watched by a mysterious stranger. What could he possibly plotting?
While they were eating, a mysterious person was watching them through a lens in the bushes. "Good. They're in my sights."
Jovan was about to take another bite of his rice ball until he heard Ash yelling.
"Look out everyone!" Ash yelled.
Jovan looks over shoulder to see Ash pushing Misty and Pikachu off the bench. He runs over and shoves Jovan into Anna as July fell on her back.
"Run for cover!" Ash yelled at the three boys.
"Whoa!" Seth and Slade yelled as they watch Ash tackle Brock to ground, knocking over the table to send the bucket of rice flying into the river.
"What's your problem?!" Brock shouted angrily at Ash.
"Eevee!" Eevee yelled angrily.
The two boys watch everyone stands up and looks at Ash angrily.
"Are you crazy, Ash?" Misty glares at him. "You just made Togepi cry."
"I thought someone there was trying to shoot us." Ash explains.
"From where?" Anna asked.
"There." Ash pointed.
Misty turns around to see no one there.
"I don't see anyone there." Anna said.
"There was somebody there." Ash said. He knew he saw something over there.
"Hm." Seth folded his arms and looks at Jovan. "What do you think?"
"Only one way to find out." Jovan said taking out a Poké Ball. "Go, Aqua!"
"Squirtle, I choose you!" Ash shouted as the two boys threw their Poké Balls and Squirtle and Aqua appeared.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle smiled.
"Fire Water Gun at 1 o'clock!" Ash ordered.
"Squir...Tle!" Squirtle cried, firing Water Gun at the bushes.
"Ah!" a boy cried out jumping out of the bushes holding a camera above him. The boy was wearing a red stripe shirt, blue pants, a bag on his left shoulder and brown boots. His hair is brown. "Quit it, stop spraying me!" he cried out.
"Ah!" Ash gasps. "Squirtle, return!"
Squirtle transforms into red energy and went back inside the Poké Ball.
"Everything ok over there?" Anna called over to the boy.
The boy began inspecting his camera, making sure it didn't get wet. "It's working just fine." the boy answered, looking at them with his black eyes.
"I was talking about you." Anna replied. "Not the camera."
"Don't you see?" the boy asked, looking back at his camera. "This camera is my life."
"Get yourself a new life." Ash glares at him. "Why were you spying on us?"
"I wasn't spying on you." the boy said, standing up to look at them. "My name is Todd and I love taking pictures. You didn't have to sick your Squirtle on me and flip out like that. Your friend over there with the other Squirtle didn't attack."
"If was the armored creature, that would be a different story." Jovan thought.
"You should consider it's an honor I wanted to take a picture of your Pikachu." Todd smiled.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked confused.
"If you just wanted to a picture of Pikachu, why didn't you ask us first before doing it?" Slade asks him as Todd walks up to them.
"I didn't want Pikachu to know I was taking pictures of it." Todd answered. "I never like them to be posed because you see, I am the number one Pokémon Photo Master!"
"So you're a masker?" Jovan asked him.
"No, I said master!" Todd exclaims.
"Huh." Slade nodded.
Todd leads them all to his house. Ash, Pikachu, Brock, Misty, July, Seth and Slade were sitting at a table as Jovan, Anna and Dragonair were sitting around a small table looking at Todd while Todd gives them a cup of tea.
"You may not recognize my name, but I'm sure you heard the photographer who took the only known two photos of not one, but two legendary Pokémon, Aerodactyl." Todd said to them.
"I don't think so." July said, shaking her head.
"Same here." Seth replied.
"Ah!" Todd yelled, falling onto the floor and picking himself up. "How is it possible they never heard of me?" He quickly leaves the room and comes back with a magazine. "Here, take a look at this Issue from Pokémon Times. That's my picture of two Aerodactyl." He opens the magazine and sets it down on the table for everyone to see.
"Oh wow." Anna said.
"You are famous." Brock smiled.
"Hang on." Jovan notices something in the second picture. "That's me and Ash in that picture."
"What are you talking about? That's the Ancient Pokémon Aerodactyl."
"That's true, Todd. But you see, we ran into it a while ago."
"Let me pull it up from my computer." Todd said.
They walk into the living room and Todd boots up the computer. He brought up the two pictures and zooms in. Todd notices Ash and Jovan in the two pictures. "Looks like you're right. That puny little thing is you."
"Puny?" Ash glares at him.
"It's incredible how two people are brought together by two photographs. It's funny when you think about it. Nobody knows who you are, and I take your picture and I'm world famous." he looks at Ash.
"Yeah, that's real hysterical." Ash muttered, looking away.
"I'm sorry if I scared you." Todd apologizes as he stands up and looks at them. "Let me make it up to by making breakfast. You all like pancakes?"
"We haven't had pancakes for a while." Jovan smiled.
"That sounds like a good idea, Todd." Anna said.
"Ok." Todd smiled. He shifted his gaze to Pikachu and Dragonair. "And I'm sure you wouldn't mind if I take Pikachu and Dragonair's picture."
"Do you need help making the pancakes?" July asks him with a smile.
"Sure. And I hope you don't mind if I take Pikachu and Dragonair's picture."
"I don't mind if you take Dragonair's picture."
"Pi?" Pikachu asked confused.
Several minutes later July and Todd brought out the pancakes for everyone at the table.
"Let's dig in, everyone." Jovan smiled.
Everyone began eating their pancakes.
"This is really good, July." Anna swallows a piece of her pancake.
As the others were busy eating their pancakes, Todd was switching out his long lens for his short lens. He aims the camera at Pikachu as the Electric Type notices him. "Ok, Pikachu. Keep eating. Just pretend I'm not in the room. Relax and act natural."
Pikachu was smiling nervously, and the trainers stops eating and was watching. When the camera clicked, Pikachu got scared and shocked Todd with a Thunder Shock.
"AAHH!" Todd yelled as he got shocked and fell backwards on the floor.
"Pika!" Pikachu gasps in shocked.
Ash lets out a small chuckle. "I guess the camera's shutter startled Pikachu. We don't get our picture taken too much."
"Pika." Pikachu nodded his head.
Todd shakes his head and stands up from the floor. "There's nothing to be afraid of, Pikachu." Todd assured Pikachu. Let's try again. Smile."
Pikachu gave out a nervous awkward smile.
"I'm sorry." Todd apologizes as he fell onto his knees. "I can't work like this."
"How come, Todd?" Seth asks as he walks over and kneels down next to him.
Todd looks at Seth. "Pokémon should be look photographed naturally, not posing. That's the only way I want my pictures of Pokémon."
Misty walks away from the table and places her hands on her hips. "Why is it such a big deal if a Pokémon pose or don't pose?" she asked him.
"Take a look at those photographs over there." Todd said, pointing his finger to the wall.
On the wall was different photographs of Pokémon. "They're all Pokémon living in their own natural habitat. Those aren't poses. Look at how peaceful they are. Don't those shots show Pokémon they ought to be?"
Everyone looks at the photos.
"They look great." Seth smiled.
"I'll say." Anna agreed. "They're cute.
"With my pictures, I can show the whole how Pokémon happy and beautiful they are in the wild." Todd smiled.
"I agree." Jovan said.
"You got great talent for how Pokémon should be seen in the wild, Todd." Slade said to him.
"That's why I never want to shoot a Pokémon with a pose that looks sad and scared." Todd explains.
"Pika." Pikachu muttered.
"Well." Ash said, folding his arms. "Pikachu may not like getting photographed, but Pikachu isn't my only Pokémon." He takes out Pidgeotto's Poké Ball. "I've got others in these Poké Balls. How about a shot of Pigeotto?" He tosses the sphere and the sphere opens, shooting out a white light and Pidgeotto appeared.
"Pidge!" he cried.
"Or Bulbasaur!" Ash exclaims, tossing another Pokémon. The Poké Ball opened, shooting a white light and Bulbasaur appeared.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur shouted.
Misty and Brock called out their Pokémon too.
"I have Pokémon too you can photograph." Misty said.
"Hey, how about taking shots of my Pokémon too?" Brock asked.
Ash stood in the middle of Brock and Misty as their Pokémon surrounds them. "See Todd? I have plenty of Pokémon you can take great shots of."
"Me too." Misty added.
"Don't forget about me." Brock said.
"And us too." Jovan added.
"Uh that's very nice, but no thanks." Todd said.
"What's the matter, Todd?" Ash asks him. "Is there something wrong with our Pokémon?"
"Oh no, they're fine." Todd replied. "But I only want to take pictures of Pikachu."
"Why is it important to take Pikachu's picture?" Anna asks him.
"Well, you see..." Todd said.
"I'm sorry, but we don't see." Seth apologizes. "Can you tell us?"
"I can't tell you why." Todd answered.
"What do you mean "I can't tell you why"?" Ash asks him.
"That's all I can say." Todd said. "I have to take Pikachu's picture and that's all there is to it!"
"Hm." Ash thought about it for a moment before folding his arms and turns his head away. "Then go ahead, but you won't have much luck."
"Heh heh!" Todd chuckled, looking down at Pikachu. "Just you watch! I'll capture you Pikachu like no other photographer can capture you."
"Pi. Pika." Pikachu said as he was a bit uncomfortable.
After thanking Todd for the breakfast, the trainers left the house to continue their journey. But they didn't know that Todd also left the house and was following them. He watches them walking on the dirt path near a river. Todd couldn't let his clients down.
Flashback
Todd was sitting down at the table. Across the table was a middle-aged man and a old woman with a Meowth. The man was wearing a blue suit and the old woman was wearing a purple long sleeve shirt.
"You must help us." the old woman said. "We really need you to capture this Pikachu."
"Oh please, this Pikachu is important." the man said, giving three pictures to Todd.
"Pikachu?" Todd looks at the pictures of Pikachu and his trainer. "These pictures rot."
"Please, grant this woman one last request before she passes on." she said with tears running down her face.
"It's so sad." Todd thought. "They must've raised a Pikachu like this one in the photo. I'll do it. I'll use my camera to capture Pikachu on film for them." "Don't worry, I'll take the job." Todd said to them as he stands up.
"You mean you'll do it?" the man asked him.
"I'll capture the Pikachu perfectly."
"Thank goodness we found you before it was too late." the old woman began crying tears of happiness.
"We're very grateful. But we really appreciate if you don't tell anyone about us being here."
"No problem." Todd agreed. "I never reveal my client's identities."
Flashback End
"I have to grant the old woman's wish." Todd thought. "I have to capture the perfect shot of Pikachu."
Meanwhile, Team Rocket and Team Neo was having lunch at a restaurant.
"Where did you find this kid, Meowth?" Libby asks him.
"Right here." Meowth answered, giving the magazine to Justin.
"Hm. According to the Pokémon Times, this kid is the best to capturing Pokémon." Justin read.
"And he showed us that huge picture album of all the Pokémon he caught too." James said to Sam.
"He also said he wanted to a shot of Pikachu or something like that." Meowth said.
Team Neo watches Jessie and James put their forks on the last piece of meat.
"Let me have it!" Jessie growled.
"I need protein!" James shot at her.
But Jessie pulled the last meat from James fork and ate the last piece.
"You're not being a nice old lady!" James complains.
"That's because I'm not nice or old!" Jessie smiles evilly as she stood up and took off her disguise.
"Right, time to lose the disguise!" James agreed as he did the same thing.
"Surprise surprise!" they both exclaimed.
"Yeah right!" Justin chuckled.
Ash and the others made it to a forest. Brock and Misty were sitting and leaning back against a tree. Ash and Pikachu was washing their faces in the water. Jovan, Anna and July were laying down in the grass with Dragonair and Eevee. Seth and Slade was sitting on a branch.
"Cha!" Pikachu exclaims happily after washing up. He heard a noise and turns to his left to see Todd popping out of a garbage park.
"Hold it right there!" Todd shouted. He tapped the button and the shutter went off. Instead of Pikachu in the shot, he found a pair of sneakers. He looks up to see Ash posing in front of him, chuckling.
"You got to be quicker!" Ash chuckled.
"Ah." Todd sighed.
As the trainers began walking again for fifteen minutes, Todd was hanging upside down on a low branch as Pikachu was in range. "Hold it!" Todd said, taking a second picture. "Huh? Not again!"
"Missed again, Todd!" Ash chuckled.
"Gr! I'll get that picture if it's the last thing I do!"
Meanwhile, James and Meowth were digging a hole as their teammates were watching them.
"It's been a while since we made a trap like this." Sam said.
"That's true." Justin agreed.
As James was digging, he felt he hit something. "I think I just discovered something." James said.
"Don't stop, keep working!" Libby snapped at them.
It took them several minutes to cover the hole. Meowth turns around and notices Todd running towards them.
"It's that Todd kid!" Meowth alerted them. "Get your disguises on!"
Libby, Sam and Justin dive behind some bushes behind their friends. As the trio turns around, Justin notices Jessie and James wearing the wrong disguises.
"Wrong disguises, you two!" Justin calls them.
Jessie and James looks at each other and put on their right disguises on.
Todd runs up to them. "I'm sorry." Todd apologizes. "I still haven't taken that Pikachu yet."
"You'll get it sooner or later." Jessie said.
"And to add for a little insurance policy, we even dug this tr-" James was saying and Jessie covers his mouth with her hand.
"Ha ha." Jessie chuckled nervously and drags James away.
Todd inspects the dirt. "Hm. This dirt is soft. Maybe a good spot to wait for Pikachu. Alright!" He takes out his tripod and sets it on the ground in between two bushes as he added the camera and the lens. "Tripod, check. Camera, check. Tripod, check. Okay, now I'm ready!" He looks through the camera and spots them. "Right on time."
"Ka." Pikachu poke his head out of Ash's backpack, keeping an eye out on Todd before hiding again.
"I never thought Pikachu would hate cameras." Seth said.
"It's too bad Todd won't get the picture he's so great at." Misty said, looking at the backpack.
"I don't see what's so great about that Tood." Ash said, folding his arms. He doesn't even understand the feelings of the Pokémon he takes pictures of."
"I don't understand the feelings of Pokémon?" Todd thought as he watches them all walk by him.
"I'd say we forget about TooAHD!" Ash was saying and he fell down in the hole followed by his friends.
"Ah!" Todd gasps. "They're gone."
Anna and July were lying across on Jovan as Eevee and Dragonair was on top of Seth and Slade.
"Ah." Jovan groans. "Who's idea was it to put this big hole here?"
"I bet it was Team Rocket and Team Neo." July said.
Team Rocket and Team Neo smiled that the trap worked.
"Finally." Libby smiled.
"We usually be the ones who fall into our own trap." Justin said.
They watch Todd walks up to the hole.
"Is everyone okay?" Todd calls down to them.
"Yeah, we're fine." Jovan calls him.
"You have to get us out of here." Misty said to Todd.
"I got some rope." Todd said, placing his bag on the ground and starts looking for the rope.
As Todd was getting some rope from his bag, Pikachu pops his head out of Ash's backpack.
"Pi."
"Are you okay, Pikachu?" Ash asks him, looking over his right shoulder.
"Pikachu." Pikachu smiled.
"Hm?" Todd looks down at the hole and smiled. "That's the Pikachu I want to capture." He had his camera ready.
"Can you throw the rope after you're done?" Anna asks him.
Team Rocket and Team Neo was confused of what they were watching.
"What is he doing?" Libby wondered.
"He's taking a picture of Pikachu." Sam answered.
Jessie and James looks at Meowth angrily. "Meowth!"
Meowth picks up the magazine and began to read. "The Pokémon magazine says he's the best of capturing Pokémon on film?!"
Libby and Sam's jaws dropped.
"Oh." Justin chuckled. "That explains why he showed Jessie and James the pictures he took. Funny mistake."
Libby and Sam smacks him on the back of the head. "You're the one who gave that magazine to Meowth!" they both growled angrily.
"Alright, hold it." Todd said. The shutter went off. "Alright, I did it! Just a few more." He was about to take another picture until he noticed the floor beneath Ash, Jovan and Dragonair was about to give away. "Oh no." He tosses the rope. "Grab the rope! The bottom of the pit is about to go! You have to get out of there before it falls through!"
Ash looks at the ground and the ground collapses, causing Ash, Pikachu and Jovan to fall through and landed in the water.
"Oh no!" July gasps.
Dragonair flew in the hole, followed by Todd and went off to rescue them.
"Pikachu, don't let go!" Ash told Pikachu as Pikachu was still hanging on.
"Ka!" Pikachu exclaims.
"Ash, Pikachu, Jovan!" Todd calls them, running along river. "You three okay?!"
"Not for much longer!" Jovan yelled.
Ash shifts his attention and sees a waterfall. Pikachu climbs onto Ash's backpack and his trainer started to swim. "There's nothing to grab onto!"
"I gotta figure something fast!" Todd exclaims as he kept running.
Jovan couldn't do anything and let the rushing water carry him to the edge and fell. He quickly transformed into his black Dragonite and flew above the waterfall. Jovan was about to dive down to catch Ash but he saw Ash grabs Todd's camera and Todd was holding onto a ladder.
"Just hang on you two!" Todd exclaims.
"You saved us." Ash muttered. He looks up and notices the camera is wet. "Your camera is ruined. You sacrificed your film to save us?"
"Don't worry about my camera, Ash. You just worry about hanging on!" Todd smiled.
"Ok." Ash nodded. He began climbing the camera slowly until they heard a voice.
"You did a great job for us, Todd." an elderly voice said.
Todd looks up and notices the elderly woman, her butler and Meowth. But there were three people he didn't recognize.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
The elderly woman and her butler ditch their disguises.
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocet and Team Neo!" Ash gasps.
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth dat's right!" Meowth smiled, holding a net. "And we just netted ourselves a Pikachu!" He pushes a small button on the net to extend it and scoops up Pikachu.
"Nair!" Dragonair called from above.
"Why would you trick me?!" Todd shouted at them.
"Because you tricked us for taking pictures of Pikachu." Libby explains. "We wanted you to steal Pikachu!"
"But thanks for letting us take Pikachu off your hands." Justin said.
"And we'll show you our graditude." Sam replied as he and James takes out a few bombs. Sam threw the black bomb at the waterfall, causing the two boys to yell.
"I think I need to work on my aim." James said, throwing a couple more bombs.
Todd was doing his best not to let go but his foot was near the edge.
"Chu!" Pikachu yelled, trying to electrocute the net.
"Nice try, but you'll never escape from this rubber bag." Justin said to Pikachu.
"Let's wrap this up." Libby said.
"Fine by me." Sam smiled.
Ash looks up and notices he was still holding the camera and an idea came.
"Here comes the final pitch!" James yelled as Sam was about to throw the bomb.
"Hold it!" Ash called at them as he held the camera. "You're going to love this picture."
"Oh." Sam smiles sheepishly.
"What's the magic word?"
"Cheese!" James and Meowth exclaims together.
Libby finished putting on her lipstick.
"Now turn to the right and watch the birdie!" Ash instructed them.
They turn their heads to the right and the bomb went off in James and Sam's hands. The gray smoke disappeared to reveal them covered in dirt.
"Just look at me!" Jessie exclaims as she looks at herself in the small mirror she was carrying. "You two ruined the shot!" She kicks James and Sam.
Ash climbs the tripod and Todd pulls him up while Jovan landed several feet away from Team Rocket and Team Neo. He transforms back into his human form. "I think it's time to give you my best shot." Jovan said, taking out a Poké Ball. "Go, Bulb!" he threw the sphere as Ash did the same.
The two spheres opened, releasing a burst of white light and Bulb and Bulbasaur appeared.
"Bulbasaur, Razor Leaf!" Ash ordered.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur shouted, firing razor-sharp leaves at Team Rocket and Team Neo.
"This won't make the cut!" Sam yelled.
The sharp leaves cut some holes into the rubber bag.
"Time to make a run for it, Pikachu!" Jovan called.
"Pika!" Pikachu quickly jumps out of the rubber bag.
"Vine Whip the two boys shouted together.
Bulbasaur and Bulb started chasing the villains with their dark vines.
"Jump into the water!" Justin notices a river they were running to.
They all jump into the river. When Sam thought they were safe, there was a waterfall coming up ahead.
"A waterfall!" Team Rocket screamed.
"But first, a poem." Jessie said. "Team Rocket and Team Neo drifted down the stream and now we screamed!" Both teams screamed as they fell down in the water.
"Great thinking, Ash!" Jovan called to Ash before shifting his attention to Bulb. "Return, Bulb!"
Bulb transforms into red energy and went inside the Poké Ball.
"There they are!" Slade told his friends as they stop near the cliff. "Over here!"
Ash and Todd turns around to see the others.
"You guys all right?" Misty called them.
"You guys missed all the excitement!"
"You should've brought a camera!"
Jovan watched Pikachu jumps off the edge and landed in Ash's arms. He was about to fall over but Todd grabbed him. The two boys started laughing.
"I don't get it." Misty said confused. "How come you're laughing like friends?"
Ash looks at her. "We are friends because we have one thing in common." He shifted his attention to Todd. "We both like Pokémon!"
"Could you imagine that." Slade smiled.
"I can." Seth said.
They all started laughing.
After leaving the waterfall, they were standing near a river. Todd got a new camera and sets it on his tripod. "I usually don't photograph humans or humans who can transform into Pokémon, but I'll make an exception." Todd explains to them as they stood several feet in front of them. Misty stood in between Ash and Brock. Jovan, Anna and Dragonair stood next to Ash as July, Seth and Slade stood next to Brock. "I want to remember my new friends forever."
"Make sure you get my good side." Misty smiled.
"Okay get ready." Todd told them. He set the timer on the camera and runs to them. Todd steps on a rice ball and couldn't control himself and bumps into them as the camera shuttered. They all started laughing happily.
"Perhaps we should take one more picture." July suggested, giving Todd a wink.
"Sure thing." Todd said.
As they were waiting for Todd, Jovan took a step back and trips backward on a rock he didn't notice. Anna turns and saw Jovan falling backwards and was about to grab him until he grabbed her shoulder and both of them fell backward onto the ground. Anna was sitting down on his lap.
"Sorry about that, Anna." Jovan said.
"Don't worry about it." Anna said, looking over her left shoulder. "At least they didn't see this."
The two trainers heard a couple of chuckles from July and Slade. Anna turns her head around to see the others looking at them and looks at Todd who was taking pictures of them.
"These two are a cute couple." July teases them.
"I agree." Brock agreed.
"But I had a feeling these two would take the next step in their relationship." Seth replied.
"And these pictures of them will be great and I'll hand all of you a picture." Todd said, taking pictures of Jovan and Anna.
"Let's step out of the shot to make the atmosphere a bit more romantic for their picture." July suggested as they all took some steps out of the shot.
"It's not what it looks like!" Jovan and Anna yelled with their faces blushing.
