"Great game, Jasmine. See you at the party tonight," Angelina called out as she made her way out of the female team showers.
"Okay, see you there. Enjoy Hogsmead," Jasmine shouted back.
"Will do. I will show you around next year when you can go," Angelina said back before leaving the showers.
Jasmine cranked up the hot water and sighed as the hot water cascaded down her body.
"Jasmine?" a nervous voice asked.
Jasmine recognised it as Parvati Patil, one of her closest friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Jasmine didn't answer immediately, partly from surprise and partly from anxiety.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" Parvati asked, making Jasmine turn around to look at her.
Jasmine could see Parvati was looking at the floor, clearly uncomfortable and guilty about whatever she wanted to discuss. Jasmine was surprised, given how confident Parvati usually looked.
"Of course," Jasmine replied as calmly as possible.
Parvati took a deep breath before speaking. "I just wanted to apologise for what happened... It was wrong of me to use magic on you without permission," she said quietly.
Jasmine didn't immediately reply to Parvati's apology. In truth, Jasmine didn't really know how to make up with Parvati. She didn't have any friends before Hogwarts, so she hadn't ever had an argument with them before.
That was probably why she had forgiven Daphne so quickly it was also why she had turned a blind eye towards how Ron had treated Hermione in the first year. She was scared to lose the few friends she had ever had.
"What you did really hurt me. I had trusted you and confided in you, but I also miss our friendship. I am willing to forgive you and move on as long as you promise never to do anything like that again," Jasmine said quietly.
Parvati ran across the room, pulling Jasmine into a bone-crushing hug. "I promise, Jasmine, I will do whatever it takes to earn your trust again. I know words alone won't fix this, but I'm willing to work hard to make things right."
Jasmine could feel the remorse pouring off Parvati and felt sure that Parvati wouldn't ever betray her trust again. Jasmine smiled and hugged her back.
"You will need a drying charm," Jasmine said as she pulled Parvati under the shower.
Parvati let out a laugh. "Good thing that magic exists, then."
"What are you doing for the rest of the day?" Jasmine asked, letting go of Parvati.
"Im meeting up with my sister. She is trying to persuade me to swap Divination for Arithmancy."
"Oh, I have picked Arithmancy, Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures," Jasmine said. At the mention of Padma, Jasmine was reminded of when she found Luna.
She planned to check up on her the day after, but her relationship problems caused her to forget. After getting changed, Jasmine decided she would look for her to ensure she was okay.
"Have you asked Mistress?" Parvati asked.
"Yes, it was a few weeks ago. Daphne didn't have a problem with them. I'm surprised you want to do Divination. I have only heard bad things about it."
Parvati let out an annoyed huff. "It's not something you can learn but a talent that you have to be born with. But the only way to tell if you have the talent is to take the class."
"Are you not worried you could take a class that would help you get a job after school?" Jasmine asked.
"No, I want to open a clothes shop after Hogwarts. You would think that most magicals are blind. Daphne has already promised to help me, which is why I have only taken Dinnivation and Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes."
Jasmine shot Parvati a confused look, not quite getting why she had picked Care of Magical Creatures.
"I need to make sure that the suppliers are sending high-quality goods."
"I guess I don't really know much about clothes," Jasmine said in deferral.
"Well, I shall see you tonight at the party then," Parvati said, finally stepping out from under the shower.
Parvati pulled out her wand and used the clothes-drying charm, making her clothes bone dry. She applied another charm to dry her hair before she put her wand away.
"Okay, see you tonight," Jasmine said, relieved at how the situation turned out.
"Oh right, Mistress said that she has your reward ready for you tonight," Parvati added before she left the room.
Jasmine was surprised by what Parvati had said that it took her a few seconds to process it. But after she did, anticipation replaced the shook. She had forgotten that Daphne had promised her a reward for winning the game as well as doing well on her exams.
Jasmine pondered what the reward would be. However, nothing came to mind other than chocolate. Eventually, Jasmine stepped out of the shower, knowing that both Ron and Hermione would be waiting for her.
After getting dry and clothed, Jasmine walked out of the changing room to see Hermione and Ron waiting for her.
"Ah, you're finally here. I was worried you had drowned in the shower," Ron said.
"I told you she just likes long showers," Hermione said, closing the book she was reading.
"Sorry, but nothing beats a hot shower," Jasmine said, feeling a little guilty.
"So what are we doing for the rest of the day? Everyone in the 3rd year and above has already made their way to Hogsmeade," Ron asked.
"We could study; the exams are only four weeks away. I can't believe I have left it so late," Hermione said, looking slightly panicked.
"Don't people start revising like two weeks before, not an entire month?" Jasmine asked.
"Ya, Jasmine's right four weeks is way too early to revise. I will have forgotten it all by the time the exam comes around." Ron said quickly, agreeing with Jasmine.
"We can look up some more advanced spells to try and get extra points on the exam," Hermione countered.
Jasmine reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out the Muruders Map. "Actually, I need to check up on Luna," Jasmine said as she scoured the map.
"Luna? Loony Luna that lives near me?" Ron asked, sounding confused.
Jasmine shot Ron a glare at the name he had called Luna. It reminded her of how they had treated Hermione in the first year. Looking back on it made her feel disappointed in herself. She had acted far too much like Dudley for her liking.
"Ron!" Hermione said scoldingly.
"Hmm, she doesn't seem to be on the map?" Jasmine said, frowning.
"Maybe she is in her common room?" Ron asked.
"Does the map show the school grounds or just in the castle?" Hermione asked.
"Yes, I think it does show the grounds," Jasmine said as she rechecked the map. "Ah, here she is."
Hermione leaned over to look at the map. "Why is she in the forest on her own?"
"Who cares? im going to see if she is okay," Jasmine said, folding the map back up and heading off towards where Luna was.
"Well, it's better than spending the day in the library," Ron said before following Jasmine.
Jasmine looked around for Luna as they got closer to the forest. They soon found Luna standing in an open area full of strange skeleton-like horses as they went deeper into the woods.
Next to her was a bucket full of bloody-looking meat. Jasmine watched as a horse put its head into a bucket and gobbled up a large bite of meat. Another bushed up against Luna, who reached out to scratch the skeleton horse.
"Luna?" Jasmine called out.
Luna turned around with a small smile on her face.
"Oh, hello, Jasmine, Ron, Hermione," Luna said as the skeleton horse gave her a nudge for attention.
"Hey, nice creatures you have found?" Jasmine replied as she looked at the creepy-looking horses.
"Creatures?" Ron asked aloud, looking at Hermione, who seemed confused that Luna had known her name.
"Jasmine? There isn't anything here other than us?" Hermione said in a worried tone.
Jasmine turned to look at her two friends, confused. "What do you mean there are 12 or 13 winged horses?"
Jasmine watched as Ron and Hermione looked at each other, confused. "No, there isn't,"
Jasmine turned back to the opening to make sure the skeleton horses were still there. "You don't see them?" Jasmine asked, keeping her eyes on them.
"You are not mad. Thestrals can't be seen by most people," Luna said as she rubbed the head of a smaller Thestrals.
"Thestrals?" Jasmine asked.
"They are boney-winged horses that are often regarded as omens of misfortune by wizards due to their close ties to death," Hermione said.
"Omens of misfortune?" Jasmine asked as she looked at the Thestrals. Given how they looked, Jasmine could see why they would creep people out.
"Only people that have seen death can see Thestrals," Hermione said quietly in a gentle voice.
Jasmine looked away from the Thestrals and to Luna, who was still petting the younger Thestral. Looking at her clothes, Jasmine couldn't see anything that was out of place. As she looked down, she saw something that made her blood boil.
Luna's feet were bare. No shoes or socks at all, and there was none in view.
"I guess that is why Jasmine and Luna can see them when we can't, then," Ron said.
"Ron," Hermione hissed as Jasmine heard her hit him with her book.
"Where are your shoes, Luna?" Jasmine asked as she walked up next to her.
"Hmm, oh, the Nargles took them. They are naughty things," Luna said as she wiggled her toes.
Jasmine cast a warming charm on Luna's feet. "Did they take anything else?"
"Hmm, some of my books and my quills. But they always turn up," Luna said.
Jasmine bit her lip, and she felt her anger building. Given that she had found Luna being bullied due to a magazine that she had been reading before. Jasmine didn't believe that Nargles were stealing any of her stuff.
Not to mention, she had gotten to know Moning Myrtle quite well when they were making the Polyjuice potion. She had also been in Ravenclaw and said that people who did badly in tests and exams were often hazed and bullied until they improved.
She wasn't sure if Luna was doing bad in class, but Jasmine knew from primary school that if you were different, you tended to get bullied. And Luna was very diffrent.
"I see," Jasmine said as she thought about how she could help Luna.
For a brief moment, she thought about telling Professor McGonagall before she remembered how she had not helped last year. Or didn't let them explain about the dragon and ignored the whole house, turning against the four of them.
With Professor McGonagall out, Jasmine did think about asking Daphne what she should do before she pushed that aside. She was sure that Daphne wouldn't turn Jasmine down, but surely Daphne would be disappointed that she couldn't solve something like this on her own.
Maybe she could try talking to Flitwick if that didn't help. Then, she would have to ask Daphne about charms or hexes that could be used to protect your items. Maybe she should learn that regardless, both her cloak and the Muradurs Map were rare and valuable items.
"They don't bite," Luna said as Jasmine cautiously eyed the Threstrals.
Jasmine watched as a younger Threstral walked up to her and brushed against her hand. Jasmine tentatively raised her hand and petted the Threstral like she would a normal horse.
Jasmine was surprised at how cold the Threstral was and the leather feel of its skin.
"Why don't we go back to the castle and get something warm to drink," Jasmine suggested, looking down at Luna's feet again.
"Okay, it's nearly time for lunch anyway," Luna said as she pulled some strange-looking glasses out of her pocket and put them on.
They vaguely reminded her of the red and blue 3D glasses that she had seen Dudley wear when reading one of his comics.
"Hmm, it seems you are clear of Wrackspurt now," Luna said, looking at Jasmine.
Jasmine frowned in confusion, having never heard of Wrackspurt.
"Well, let's go and get lunch then," Jasmine said.
Jasmine looked up at the staff table at the end of the great hall as lunch was coming to an end. She had hoped that Professor Flitwick would show up during lunch so she could talk to him about Luna.
Unfortunately, the table remained quite empty, with only the Headmaster, Professor McGonagall, Professor Sinistra, and the insufferable Lockhart being the only staff members who had shown up to dinner.
She could wait for the year to end just so she didn't have to sit in another one of Lockhart's pointless lessons. She doubted anyone had learned a single thing from the man the entire year.
Jasmine looked over at Luna, who was happily talking to Ginny.
"Im going to look for Professor Flitwick," Jasmine said to Hermione and Ron.
"What for?" Hermione asked, looking up from her book on transfiguration.
"I just want to ask him about charms that could be used in duels. He used to be a duelling champion," Jasmine said, not wanting to tell people about Luna's bullying without Luna's permission.
"Oh well, shall we meet up in the library after that?" Hermione asked, sounding a lot less interested.
Jasmine knew that anything to do with duelling would turn Hermione off. She hadn't liked the duelling club and hadn't wanted to practice duelling with Jasmine when she had asked.
Which was a shame as Jasmine found that she really enjoyed duelling. She really hoped that Hogwarts would start an official club with someone who actually knew how to duel instead of that idiot Lockhart.
"Sure, I can look up some of the charms," Jasmine said as she got to her feet and quickly made her way out of the Great Hall. As she left, Jasmine couldn't help but look towards the Slytherin table even though she knew that Daphne and Tracey weren't there.
Parvati and Padma also had yet to turn up for lunch, and she wondered if the four of them were sharing lunch somewhere private. Jasmine couldn't help but feel jealous at the thought.
However, it didn't last long as Jasmine told herself that Parvati and Padma didn't get to spend most of their nights cuddled with Daphne like she could.
Jasmine pulled out her map and quickly turned it over till she got to the charms classroom and was happy to see that Flitwick was inside the classroom.
Thanks to the many secret passageways, it took Jasmine only a short time until she stood outside the charms classroom, knocking on the door.
"Come in," Flitwick's squeaky voice said as the door swung open.
Jasmine stepped inside the classroom and closed the door behind her.
"Ah, Miss Potter, how can I help you?" Flitwick asked with surprise in his voice.
Jasmine felt her throat dry out as she walked closer to the teacher's desk. "I want to talk about one of the students from your house, professor."
Jasmine saw Professor Flitwick look up at her with a serious glint in his eyes. "Are you having a problem with one of my students?" Professor Flitwick asked.
"No, err, my friend Luna Lovegood is in Ravenclaw, and I think she is being bullied," Jasmine said quickly before Professor Flitwick could get the wrong idea.
"Has she told you that?" Professor Flitwick asked as he gestured for Jasmine to take a seat.
"No, but I found two older students cornering her outside the dorm room a week ago. It was late at night, and they took her magazine and hit her with it. And today, I found her in the forest with no shoes or socks as they had gone missing."
Jasmine saw a flash of anger cross Professor Flitwick's face before he schooled his face.
"Mippy," Professor Flitwick called out, and with a crack, a house elf appeared in the room.
"Yes Professory?" Mippy, the house elf, asked.
"Have any of the student's clothes been found in strange places?" Professor Flitwick asked the house elf.
"We keep finding shoes hidden in strange places, even outside the dorm," Mippy replied, shaking her head and making her large ears flop side to side.
"Do they belong to the same student?"
"Yes, Professory, they belong to Miss Lovey."
"I see. Can you make sure that all of her clothing is returned to her and that it isn't stolen again," Professor Flitwick said.
"Of course, right away," Mippy said before vanishing with a crack.
"Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Miss Potter. I will ensure that it is taken care of, and the people responsible will be punished harshly," said Professor Flitwick.
Jasmine nodded, feeling relieved that something would be done. She had been worried that Professor Flitwick would have brushed off her concern.
Jasmine was about to stand up when she remembered what she had told Hermione.
"Is there something else, Miss Potter?" Flitwick asked.
"Err, I wanted to ask about charms that could be used in duels."
"Ahh, well, I would be glad to help you there. Nothing too complex, of course." Flitwick said cheerfully.
"First, I will show the two types of spells." Flitwick said drwing out his wand.
"Flipendo," Flitwick said calmly, pointing his wand at a book on the table. A purple bot shot out of his wand and hit the books, sending it flying into the air.
"And the second type," Flitwick said. "Wingardium Leviosa," Flitwick said, stopping the book in the air as he floated it back down to the table softly.
"Did you see the difference?" Flitwick asked Jasmine.
"Err..." Jasmine said, confused as she tried to think about the spells during a duel. "The first spell had something viable to dodge of shield against?" Jasmine asked.
"Correct some spells are visible to the eye, so it's easy to dodge or shield against them. While others just directly affect the thing it's used on. Now for charms that are useful in duels: Lumos, Leviosa, and the sticking charm are all very good ones that don't have a visible effect."
"Lumos?" Jasmine asked, surprised.
"Yep, pull your wand out," Flitwick said.
Jasmine was surprised but flicked her wrist, and her wand shot out of her wand holder and into her hand.
"Cast the Lumos charm, but this time, I want you to imagine the light being green," Flitwick instructed.
"Lumos," Jasmine said, focusing on the colour green. The end of Jasmine's wand erupted into a green light.
Professor Flitwick waited as Jasmine inspected the light and fell into thought.
"So if I can change the colour, then I should also be able to make it brighter then?" Jasmine said, looking up at Professor Flitwick.
"Correct, you can control the brightness. Next year, you will learn the charm Lumos Maxima, which makes a bright burst of light instead of a sustained one like Lumos.
The light can also be flung from the wand at a target before it turns into a blinding flash. However, you should be more than capable of casting it at your current skill level."
"Does Lumos have to be on my wand?" Jasmine asked.
"Why don't you try and find out?" Professor Flitwick offered, smiling.
Jasmine's mind went back to when Daphne had first been teaching her spells for the duelling club. That was, spells came down to intent, which is what Professor Flitwick showed her when she made her Lumos green instead of the regular white.
"Lumos," Jasmine said as she focused on making a white ball of light in the middle of the desk. And to her surprise, even though she should have expected it, a ball of white light appeared above the table.
"Well done, Miss Potter. I think that deserves 10 points to Gryffindor," Professor Flitwick said, sounding very happy. "For extra credit, you can look back on all the charms I have taught you and write ways you could change them for use in duels."
Jasmine had a large smile on her face, looking at the ball of light before she used the nox charm to make it fade. "Okay, Professor, thank you for your help," Jasmine said, standing up.
"No problem at all, Miss Potter. If you ever have more questions, please come and ask me. I like nothing more than to see my students learn."
"Oh, one more thing, Miss Potter." Professor Flitwick said as Jasmine got to the door of the classroom. "Take another 20 points for bringing Miss Lovegood's situation to my attention."
Jasmine walked into the library, and her eyes looked upstairs as she wondered if Daphne and Tracey were in their private room. She paused for a moment before she carried on walking into the library.
If it was just her and Hermione, then Jasmine wouldn't mind about going to look and even all of them studying together. However, she knew that Ron disliked most Slytherins, believing they couldn't be trusted even if they weren't Malfoy.
Personally, she thought it was a little stupid. Sure, Malfoy was a dick, but she hadn't ever had a problem with any of the other people in Slytherin outside of Quidditch.
Of course, Jasmine knew at some point, Ron would find out about her and Daphne, and she wasn't sure what his reaction to that would be or how she would deal with it.
It wasn't hard to find Hermione. She always sat in the same place in the library. Jasmine was surprised to see Ron also sitting there, but it didn't seem like he was paying any attention to the book that he was meant to be reading.
If she had to guess, Ron would not doubt end up leaving soon to play chess with Dean or do anything but study. Jasmine was sure that his approach to studying for his exams would be the same as his homework.
Which was to leave it to the last minute, at which point Hermione would badger him into doing it. Not that she was much different last year.
However, knowing that Voldemort wasn't actually dead and that Dumbledore was sure that he would one day return. Went a long way to making Jasmine want to learn all the magic that she could. After all, she knew she would be his first target.
"Hey, how was Professor Flitwick?" Hermione said in greeting as Jasmine took a seat.
"Good, he gave me some new ideas on how to use charms and maybe even magic overall," Jasmine said.
"Well, come on, then share," Hermione said impatiently.
Jasmine smiled and filled Ron and Hermione in on what Professor Flitwick had shown her.
"Hmm, I hadn't ever thought about how we could modify spells like that," Hermione said.
Jasmine could see the gears turning in her head as she no doubt thought about all the spells she knew and how they could be changed.
"Did he give you any powerful charms that we can learn?" Ron asked, sounding excited.
"Nope, he didn't even tell me in what ways charms could be repurposed. He asked me to fill up a roll of parchment with my ideas, though."
Ron let out a scoff. "You got extra homework?"
"There is nothing wrong with doing extra work, Ron," Hermione said, frowning at Ron.
"I don't have to do it, but I like the idea. Im going to go get some books on 1st and 2nd-year-level charms," Jasmine said, standing up.
Jasmine quickly left, sensing a possible argument brewing between Ron and Hermione and went over to the charms section and started looking through the books.
Jasmine jumped as she felt arms wrap around her, and her wand was in her hand as she turned around. Jasmine relaxed the moment she saw Daphne smiling down at her.
"Hey," Daphne said, sounding amused.
"You scared me," Jasmine complained.
"I'm sorry," Daphne said as she leaned forward and planted a kiss on Jasmine's lips.
Jasmine felt herself melt into Daphne before she broke the kiss and looked around with slight worry.
"What's wrong?" Daphne asked.
"Nothing. Where is Tracey?" Jasmine asked, wanting to deflect from Daphne's question.
"Are you worried about people seeing us?" Daphne asked.
"I doubt many people will take it well," Jasmine said quietly.
"People or your friend Ron?" Daphne questioned.
"Both. I don't know any Griffindors that are dating Slytherins."
"I hope you aren't expecting to keep our relationship a dirty secret. If your friends can't accept it, then they are not very good friends, and who cares about strangers," Daphne said, pursing her lips.
Jasmine looked down at the floor, feeling chastised by what Daphne had said. Daphne unwrapped her arms from Jasmine, who quickly looked up, worried she had upset Daphne.
However, Daphne just grabbed Jasmine's hand. "So what you looking for?"
"Books on the first and second-year level charms," Jasmine said.
"Then we need to be further down. I am glad to see that you are taking studying seriously. I have an amazing reward all planned out," Daphne said as she pulled Jasmine deeper into the charms section and out of view of the main section of the library.
Jasmine felt curiosity form at Daphne's mention of a reward. It seemed like Daphne was also excited about Jasmine getting this reward. She made a promise to herself that she would do her best on her end-of-year exams.
Back with the Dursleys, she would have been far too scared to think about doing her best on any exam. But she wouldn't be living with them soon, and it wasn't like they ever asked about Hogwarts or would be interested in her grades. So why not do her best?
With that thought, Jasmine went back to looking at the titles on the books before finding some that seemed promising. Jasmine grabbed two of the books on the shelf when Daphne asked her a question.
"I am guessing you will be late tonight?"
"Yes, the dorm is going to have a party. I doubt I can avoid not turning up."
"Okay, don't take too long. Your reward is waiting for you," Daphne said, smiling.
"I will try and escape as soon as I can. Tell Tracey I said hello," Jasmine said as Daphne let go of her hand.
"Okay, I will do," Daphne said, stealing one last kiss before she left. "Oh, right, the books on Occlumency are here, so we can start that tonight if you want," Daphne added.
Jasmine spun around to look at Daphne. "Yes, I would love to start tonight," Jasmine said excitedly.
"Okay, see you tonight," Daphne said.
Jasmine walked back to where Ron and Hermione were with a skip in her step. She was pretty sure that Occlumency wouldn't be easy to learn, but she was determined to protect her mind from other people.
As she got to the table, Jasmine could tell that Ron and Hermione must have had some kind of fight from the way the two of them were ignoring each other.
Jasmine took a seat, opened her first book, and started looking for charms. There were only seven charms taught in the first year. The Knockback jinx, Levitation charm, Tickling charm, Unclocking charm, Wand lighting charm and the Wand extinguishing charm and then the charm they had to perform at the end of the year, the Animation charm.
Daphne had already taught her the variations of the knockback jinx. She could think of anything to do with the tickling charm as it was already a useful charm for duels.
Thanks to Professor Flitwick, she had already found many ways to use Lumos in duels.
The last charm of the 1st year was the animation charm. Maybe it could be used on people's clothing. After all, she made a pineapple dance across a table, so perhaps she could make people's robes tangle them.
After noting down some of her ideas, Jasmine moved on to the 2nd year-level charms that she had learned this year.
"Hey Jasmine, it's dinner time," Hermione said, making Jasmine look up.
"Really already?" Jasmine asked, looking at her watch.
Jasmine was surprised to see that she had been sitting in the library for several hours. She had been far too invested in looking charms up. She had even picked out 5 charms that she wanted to learn.
This was something that Flitwick and all the other teachers encouraged as there were so many spells that they couldn't teach them every spell, so it was up to them to learn more spells outside of the lessons.
"Okay, let's head off to dinner," Jasmine said as she gathered her notes together.
"Finally," Ron said, closing his book and jumping to his feet.
Jasmine saw Hermione roll her eyes and let out a sigh as she gathered up her books and slipped them into a shoulder bag.
"Do you want to take them to the dorm?" Jasmine asked as Hermione slung the bag over her shoulder.
"No, we are going to the dorm after dinner," Hermione said as they left the library.
Jasmine, Ron and Hermione entered the Great Hall and made their way to the loud Griffindor table. Jasmine took a seat next to Katie, who gave her a large smile.
"Ah, there is the best seeker in the school," Katie said to the cheers of the Gryffindor table.
Jasmine blushed at the attention and started to grab some food to hide her embarrassment.
"Are you ready for the party tonight? I hear Fred and George have managed to get some butterbeer for the 2nd years," Katie whispered to Jasmine.
"Butterbeer? People won't get drunk, will they?" Jasmine asked, worried about Professor McGonagall's wrath if she found drunk students.
"Na, you can't get drunk off it, or you would have to be 17 to buy it," Katie reassured.
Jasmine, Ron and Hermione quickly left the great hall after finishing dinner. The common room had already started to fill up with snacks on the table, and a makeshift bar had been set up along one side of the common room.
Fred and George were walking around adding finishing touches. On the bar, there was a sign showing they were selling Butterbeer for three sickles per bottle. Jasmine was pretty sure that there was a small markup on the price.
"Hey, want to buy a butterbeer?" Fred asked, seeing the three of them.
"Sure, three, please. Let me go get some money," Jasmine said.
"No problem, George three butterbeers," Fred called out.
"Can you take my books up," Hermione asked.
"Sure," Jasmine said as she took the heavy shoulder bag from Hermione.
In the dorm, Jasmine placed Hermione's bag on her bed before she walked over to her bedside table and, pulled out a handful of Sickles and shoved them into her jeans pocket.
Once she got back down to the common room, Jasmine was surprised to see that so many people had already returned from dinner.
"Hey, here is your butterbeer," Hermione said as she and Ron walked over to Jasmine.
"Thanks," Jasmine said as she took the cup.
Jasmine was surprised that the cup of Butterbeer was actually warm. She had expected the drink to be cold as far as she knew, from when her uncle drank, it seemed that beer was always served cold.
Jasmine brought the cup up to her mouth and took a deep drink. A rich, buttery, creamy taste filled her mouth, and warmth spread throughout her body.
Jasmine licked her lips as she felt foam around her mouth.
"Wow, that is really good," Jasmine said.
"Yes, I was really surprised as well. I will have to get my parents to try it the next time we go to Diagon Ally," Hermione said with a froth moustache.
After finishing her first cup of Butterbeer, Jasmine went to buy another cup as well as to pay for the last three that she had bought.
"Hey, you liked the Butterbeer then," Fred asked, seeing Jasmine's empty cup.
"Yep, can I get another one, and can you keep me three for later," Jasmine said.
"Sure, that will be 21 Sickles," Fred said.
Jasmine dug into her pocket and pulled out a handful of Sickles and counted them out before handing them to George.
"Right, right, everyone quiet down," Wood said, walking into the centre of the room.
The room quieted down as everyone waited to hear what Wood had to say.
"First, I want to thank everyone in the house for their amazing support this year," Wood said, holding out his Butterbeer.
The common room broke out into cheers before everyone took a sip of their drink.
"And, of course, I have to thank every amazing person on the team who managed to put up with me this year," Wood said, holding his drink out again.
"You weren't that bad of a keeper either," Fred and George shouted out.
Jasmine heard several people laugh as Wood got a slight blush on his face.
"Well, to Gryffindor, what I hope will be another win next year!" Wood shouted enthusiastically. The Common room broke into cheers as Fred and George ran into the centre and set off some kind of fireworks.
Red and gold sparks filled the room, which then turned into miniature players flying through the air, throwing a red ball at each other. It caught Jasmine by surprise, having never seen anything like that before.
"Wasted talent," Hermione said next to Jasmine, making her jump.
"I think it's really cool. I bet lots of people would pay for one for events and stuff," Jasmine said.
"Ron said that their mom had grounded them all summer due to their exam results."
"Maybe they want to open their own shop? I bet they could make some really good joke items."
"Maybe im not sure how much it costs to open a shop. So, will you be sneaking out tonight?" Hermione asked with a knowing look.
"Err ya, but with how busy the common room is, I am thinking of leaving earlier," Jasmine said.
"Okay, if people ask, I will cover for you," Hermione said as she went to get another drink.
Jasmine walked around the common room for a short while as she talked to some people that Jasmine didn't ever remember talking to before. Eventually, after an hour of talking to people, Jasmine went to find Hermione having grown bored of the party.
In truth, getting her reward from Daphne and having her first lesson on how to protect her mind was far more important than the party, and she was counting the seconds down.
After looking around the common room for a while, Jasmine failed to find Hermione. Eventually, Jasmine gave up looking for her and made her way over to the bar, where she grabbed the three bottles of Butterbeer that Fred had saved for her and slipped them into her shoulder bag.
With the drinks secured, Jasmine made her way out of the common room without anyone really paying her much attention. Once she was outside, Jasmine pulled out her cloak and vanished under it. She then began walking briskly towards the dungeons, being careful not to draw any attention to herself.
The last thing she needed was to deal with Flitch or his annoying cat. Her cloak may make her invisible, but the cat could still smell her.
Jasmine took a turn and walked down the familiar corridor to the Slytherin girls' private dorm entrance. Carefully walking down the steps, Jasmine looked around to ensure that none of the other Slytherins were around.
Seeing the coast was clear, Jasmine rushed over to Daphne's door and knocked. After what felt like an eternity, the door swung open with a smiling Tracey, who was wearing a skimpy maid costume.
Jasmine stepped inside and felt herself relax as she pulled off her cloak.
"Hello, Mistress," Jasmine said, greeting Daphne.
"Hello, pet, you are here much earlier than I expected," Daphne said, sitting up.
Jasmine blushed at being called a pet. It was a strangely intimate way for Daphne to claim ownership over her. However, Jasmine didn't hate it and even thought it was a little cute.
"Would you like me to hang up your bag, Jasmine," Tracey asked.
"Hmm, oh, I brought us some Butterbeer," Jasmine said as she opened the shoulder bag.
"Oh, thank you," Tracey said, taking the bottles out of the bag and hanging the bag up.
"Come here, pet," Daphne said, patting next to her on the bed invitingly.
"Err, don't you want me to get changed, mistress?" Jasmine asked, looking over towards the wardrobe.
"Nope," Daphne said, patting the bed again.
Jasmine smiled and made her way to the bed before she crawled up the bed and laid down next to Daphne.
"So, do you want your reward now, or do you want to start your lesson first?" Daphne asked as she pulled Jasmine into a warm hug.
"Err rewards first, please, Mistress."
"Excellent rewards first, then," Daphne said, getting onto her knees and, crawling to the edge of the bed and reaching under it.
Jasmine swallowed at the view that Daphne had given her. Daphne was wearing a silver lace chemise that hugged her body perfectly and hid almost nothing from Jasmine's view.
All of her cleavage was on show, being framed by green lace trim. After that, it was nothing more than a silver lace mesh that showed all of her toned stomach through it.
Underneath that, she was wearing a black thong that Jasmine couldn't stop looking at as it just stood out so much compared to the silver chemise.
Daphne sat back up with a smirk on her face, no doubt knowing that Jasmine had been watching her lustfully.
"Right here is your first reward," Daphne said, handing a large box over to Jasmine.
"Drink, Mistress, sister," Tracey said, holding out a bottle of Butterbeer to each of them.
Jasmine was surprised at being called sister for a few seconds before she felt a warm fuzzy feeling at how Tracey clearly viewed her.
"Thank you, come join us," Daphne said, taking her drink and patting next to her.
Tracey smiled as she got onto the bed and cuddled against Daphne to watch Jasmine open her rewards.
Jasmine opened the box slowly as Daphne and Tracey watched. Inside the box was black leather with a subtle snakeskin effect on them. It took Jasmine a few seconds before she realised what she was looking at.
It was a set of Quidditch guards for her arms and legs. Pulling them out of the box, Jasmine noticed robes underneath them. They were the signature red and gold colour of Gryffindor.
"The robes are made from Acromantula Silk, making them very strong and also means the warming charm applied to them should last for a few years," Daphne explained.
"Thank you," Jasmine said before leaning over and giving Daphne a kiss.
"You're welcome. Now for your second reward," Daphne said, passing a much smaller box over to Jasmine.
Jasmine took the smaller box and gave it a slight shake as she tried to work out what was in such a small box. However, she couldn't hear any noise when she gave the box a shake.
Frowning, Jasmine pulled the ribbon on the box and pulled the lid from the box. Inside the box was a card with a Quality Quidditch Supplies shop logo on it.
Picking up the card, Jasmine turned it over to see that it was a voucher for a broom check-up and care.
"They will make sure everything with your broom is okay. I remember last year, someone used a Jinx on it. I don't know if you ever got it checked out, but if not, you now can." Daphne explained.
Jasmine was surprised at the thought Daphne had put into it. And she was right. She hadn't ever had anyone check out her broom. It wasn't like she could go to Diagon Alley during the summer holidays.
"Okay, time for the last reward, and then we will start your lesson in Occlumency," Daphne said, handing another box over to Jasmine.
Jasmine excitedly pulled it open, only to blush to see all the silky clothing inside the box. It was full of very sexy-looking underwear and outfits.
"Thank you, Mistress," Jasmine said quietly.
Daphne smiled. "You can wear something later tonight. Now let's get started with your lesson in Occlumency," Daphne said much more seriously.
Jasmine put the box of lingerie down and sat up, giving Daphne her undivided attention.
