Chapter 18-Leaving for a run

A month later

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl walks down the street with a bag on his back. He walks up to a R.V and puts his bag in it. He walks out and looks at Rick as he walks up to him. "You sure about this?" Rick asks Daryl who nods.

"Yeah, we have plenty of people now, enough to guard this place. We have fifty-seven people, fifty-six fighters because of Judith. This run is a good idea," Daryl says. "We'll be gone for two or three weeks. We'll be able to get people and supplies."

"You sure Maggie should come?" Rick asks.

"Glenn tried to talk her out of it. You can try but I want to keep living," Daryl tells him and Rick chuckles.

"You, Carol, Tyreese, Beth, Maggie, Glenn, Noah, and Blake. You sure that's enough? And should Blake and Noah be going with you?"

"I talked with Shane and Octavia. They were fine with it. They agreed to it, she can handle herself," Daryl says. "Noah can too. Also he's the one who's been making the plans for this place. He'll know what to look for," Daryl tells him. "We'll be fine."

"I know you will. They'll have you leading them," Rick says. "Just be safe and if it gets bad, come back," Rick tells Daryl who nods.

"I mapped out a route were going to try and stay on. I gave Abraham the map. If something happens. Hopefully that will help you find us," Daryl tells Rick who nods.

Shane's P.O.V

Shane and Octavia watched as Octavia put her clothes In a bag. "You two are hovering," Blake says.

"We're just worried," Octavia says.

"You two said it was fine that I went," Blake says.

"I know, doesn't mean we won't worry. You'll be gone for weeks," Shane says.

"I'll be fine, I'll be with Daryl, Beth, Maggie, Glenn, Tyreese, Carol, and Noah. We'll be fine," Blake says as she shuts the bag. "I have all of my weapons, my gun is loaded. I have everything I need."

"Alright," Shane says as he walks up to her and hugs her. "I love you."

"I love you, too," Blake says as she hugs him. She walks over to Octavia and hugs her.

"Don't do anything stupid out there and listen to Daryl and if it gets to dangerous, don't be a hero, run," Octavia says as she holds her daughter tight.

"I love you too, Mom," Blake says. "I'm struggling to breath."

Octavia chuckles as she kisses her head. "I love you," Blake smiles as she walks out of the room to see Theo, Oliver, and Clarke.

Glenn's P.O.V

Glenn put his and Maggie's bag in the R.V as Daryl walks up to him with Beth. "Blake, Noah, Tyreese, and Carol are already in there. We're ready to go when you two are," Glenn says.

"You say your goodbyes?" Daryl asks.

"Yeah, we did," Maggie says as she walks up to them.

"Alright then let's get going," Daryl says as he walks up to his bike. Beth climbs on behind him and they leave.

Shane's P.O.V

3 months after the farm

Shane walked out of the farm and over to the car where Octavia was waiting. "You sure we can find what we need in town?" Octavia asks him.

"It has medicine and some food. It should," Shane tells her. Octavia nods as she climbs in the car and Shane climbs in the driver seat. He pulls out of the farm and starts to drive towards town.

"How do you know this pharmacy still has medicine?" Octavia asks.

"Hershel's daughter would go here to get their medicine. When we got here Glenn started going on the runs with her. Last time they were here, it still had medicine. I don't imagine it is all gone."

"Blake is getting worse, Shane. She needs this medicine."

"I know, Octavia," Shane tells her. "We'll find it, we'll search every building in town if we have too."

Octavia nods as they fall into a silence.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl stops his bike about three hours from Eden. He looks around the town they were in and climbed off his bike. The others come out of the R.V as Daryl grabs his crossbow off his bike. "Alright, we're only going to stay here for three hours. Quickly search through and then get back. Groups of two, Glenn and Maggie, Noah, and Blake, Carol and Tyreese, Beth and I. We all have radios. If you get trapped, Radio," Daryl says. They all nod as they grab their weapons and start to split up. Daryl and Beth walk down the streets.

"You should let me carry that, I'm better at shooting it," Beth says.

Daryl scoffs with a smirk. "Sure you are," Daryl says as they see two walkers.

"I'll get one," Beth says as she removes her knife. Daryl raises his crossbow and shoots one in the head. He puts his crossbow on his back and removes his knife. He throws the knife and it hits the walker in the head. "Show off," She says making him chuckle as he walks up to them walkers and grabs his knife. "So why did you bring me here? You can kill them all yourself?"

"You're nice to look at," Daryl says as he reloads his crossbow..

"Thank you," Beth says. "Come on," Daryl follows her.

Rick's P.O.V

Rick walked out of his room and rubbed his freshly shaved face. He walked downstairs. "So where's your Dad?" Clarke asks Carl who was holding Judith.

"He went upstairs an hour ago," Carl says. "There he is."

Clarke turns around and looks at Rick. "Oh my god, there was a face under that forest," Clarke says with a smirk.

"I took your advice," Rick says as he sits down.

"It looks good," Clarke says. "Tomorrow I'm going to go check the traps. Do you want to come with me?"

"Sure," Rick says and Clarke nods with a smile as she leaves.

"She likes you," Carl says.

"Does that bother you?" Rick asks him.

"No, you should be happy, Dad. You like her too. I want you to be happy and so would Mom," Carl says.

Rick smiles as he pats Carl's shoulder and leaves the house.

Shane's P.O.V

3 months after the farm

Shane stops the car in front of the pharmacy and climbs out. "You know what we are looking for?" Shane asks her.

"Grab everything you can. It will all help, I'll get the medicine that Blake needs," Octavia tells Shane who nods as they walk into the pharmacy. Shane taps his knife against the shelf and they hear nothing. Octavia walks to the back as Shane starts to grab what is left on the shelfs. After he walks to the back and starts to grab medicine off the shelf. "Can I ask you something?" Octavia asks Shane who nods. "You want to find, Rick, right?"

"Yeah," Shane answers.

"So why stay with us, he's not going to return to the farm and he thinks you're dead. So why not go and find him?" Octavia asks.

"Trying to get rid of me?" Shane asks.

"No, I like your company, but I'm curious."

"Two reasons, one I'm scared to see him again, to see all of them and the second reason, I care about you guys, You and Blake. I want to keep you guys safe."

"We care about you too, and no I don't want you to leave. I'm glad we found you, Shane."

Shane smirks as he shuts his bag. "Why don't you and your friend come out!"

Noah's P.O.V

Noah pushes the door open to a pawn shop and looks around. "A pawn shop, really?" Blake asks him.

"There are all kind of good things in a pawn shop. Weapons, wood stoves, you don't know what you've find," Noah says as he looks around. "My Dad and I searched through a couple during the first few months. Found some good stuff."

Blake nods as she starts to look around. "What you've been doing the last couple of months. Helping Eugene make Eden stronger. It's been good,"

"Thanks," Noah says. "I'm glad I can help in some way, I may not be the best fighter, or shot or even know how to hunt, but I'm able to help keep everybody safe," Noah says.

"You're smart, and that is just as important as fighting in this world," Blake tells him.

"I hope so," Noah says as they continue to search the pawn shop.

Glenn's P.O.V

Glenn and Maggie grab medicine off the shelf of a local pharmacy. "This brings back memories," Maggie says with a smirk and Glenn laughs.

"Don't get any ideas, we are on a time clock," Glenn says. Maggie smirks and nods as they hear a car engine. They both look at the door as they remove their guns and move behind the counter.

"You sure this place will have what Conrad needs?" A man asks.

"Yes," A woman says as she pushes the door open. Glenn looks at Maggie and nods. The two rise up and put their guns at the two who raise their hands.

"Hey, we don't want any trouble, we just need some medicine," The man says. "I'm Tripp and this Eleanor."

Glenn looks at Maggie who nods. "I'm Glenn and this is Maggie," Glenn says. "Take your guns out and set them down."

"Alright," Tripp says as he takes his gun out of the holster and sets it down as Eleanor does the same. Glenn lowers his gun as Maggie does the same. "Are you two alone, we got a place we can take you," Tripp says.

"We have a group," Glenn says. "One of you come back here and get what you need."

Tripp nods to Eleanor who walks behind the counter and starts to look through the medicine with Maggie watching her. "You wanna radio your friends, maybe we can chat without the guns."

Glenn nods as he grabs his radio. "Guys, meet back at the cars, we have a situation," Glenn says.

"Copy, we'll meet you there," Daryl says.

Shane's P.O.V

3 months after the farm.

"We saw you two go in there, the lady was real pretty," The man says. "A couple months ago, a few of our friends were killed here, we're looking for those people. You tell us where they are and you live."

"That was you guys wasn't it?" Octavia asks Shane who nods.

"Rick, Glenn, and Hershel," Shane says. "We don't know anything about your friends! We're just trying to get medicine for a friend, let us go and no one has to die and you can continue your search."

"Why don't you give us the pretty lady and we'll let you go to get the medicine where you need to," The man says.

"No deal," Shane says.

"Alright, man your choice. Open fire!"
