The next morning.

Light went to the kitchen, where he saw Akeno.

"Good morning, Light." Spotting him, Akeno remarked with a mischievous grin as she tasted a piece of chocolate, "Nothing like starting the day with a sweet touch, don't you think?"

With a soft smile, Light replied, "They say chocolate is good for the heart, but seeing you like this in the morning is even better for mine."

"Ara, ara," she tilted her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "Tell me, Light, is it the sight or the chocolate that has you saying such sweet things in the morning?"

With a cunning look, Light responded, "Chocolate might sweeten the taste, but it's the sweet words that keep the conversation interesting, don't you think?"

She chuckled softly, "Ara, ara, Light. Maybe I should start bringing chocolate every morning just to hear you talk like that~"

With a confident nod, Light said, "Well, if chocolate is the key to hearing more of your laughter, I'll buy the whole factory."

She leaned in closer, her lips nearly brushing his ear, "And what if I told you it's not the chocolate that makes me laugh, but the man in front of me?"

Unfazed, Light leaned in to whisper back, "Then it's a good deal. I make you laugh; you brighten my day."

Akeno laughed softly, as melodious as birdsong in the morning. "Oh, Light, you sure know how to charm a woman."

But then, she took a step back, perhaps for the first time in her life, she felt her heart race for a man.

Light reached out, interlocking his fingers with hers. "They say the best moments happen when they're unexpected. Want to join me and see where this moment takes us?"

Akeno felt her cheeks warm, recalling the time they had spent together in the special training room. During that period, Light had treated her with respect and helped hone her skills. Now, she saw a different side of him that fascinated her, yet also left her somewhat unsettled.

Gently pulling her hand back, she gave an enigmatic smile. "Taking things slow can sometimes make the game more interesting, don't you think?"

She gracefully stepped away, but what could be hidden in her heart at that moment?

'She pulled away,' Light thought, letting out a laugh: "Hahaha."

Heading to the fridge, Light picked out some fruits to make a smoothie. The blend of flavors made him reflect on the complexity of emotions and relationships, and how each ingredient, or moment, added something unique.

Soon enough, the house began to wake, and the kitchen and living room were filled with noise.

In this setting, although he preferred calm and silence, he didn't mind the commotion either.

With so many people around, small groups of two or three formed, conversing separately.

Light mainly chatted with his little sister and Himari, occasionally with Kiba.

Akeno, having returned, would sometimes give him provocative glances, but Light caught something more in her eyes, something hard to decipher.

After noon, Light left as he said he would.

Flying through the sky, he headed towards where Misa was staying.

Thanks to invisibility, he didn't travel like ordinary humans.

Reaching the building she was in, Light sent a telepathic message for her to come down. Meanwhile, he stood by the building's entrance.

'Rito?' As Light waited for Misa, he spotted Rito with a girl.

The girl had golden brown eyes and brown hair, looking no older than 13.

'His younger sister?' Light mentally compared the real-life version and the anime. Indeed, they were similar.

Suddenly, a golden card with mixed colors, too intricate to decipher, appeared. Light selected Rito as the target and said, 'Activate.'

[Congratulations, host! You've acquired the "Lucky Pervert" skill x1 using the "Random Skill Theft Card".]

"..."

Hoping to gain the "Seduction Immunity" skill, Light felt somewhat let down.

After all, it was a passive skill that the system highly valued, worth 400 Destiny Points.

Though he didn't need it right now, it might come in handy one day.

Regarding the "Lucky Pervert" skill, honestly, he didn't want it.

'What to do with it?' Light sighed.

For now, he'll keep it; you never know when it might come in handy, though he highly doubted it...

To be honest, any other ability from Rito would be better than this one. Light couldn't see himself using this skill just to have 'luck' in falling into perverted situations.

"Next time, I'll choose someone with fewer useless skills," Light reflected.

As the protagonist, Rito had more than five skills. Now, he had a total of 6 after Light stole one from him.

"It's not even worth risking another card on him." Shaking his head, Light stopped looking in Rito's direction.

Misa took a few minutes to arrive, giving the impression she had meticulously prepared herself.

"Light!" Misa immediately hugged him.

She seemed to have forgotten that she was a publicly recognized figure.

"Mm, let's go inside first, alright?" Light said.

Instead of agreeing immediately, she looked at her clothes and then at Light, "Do you think I overdid my outfit today? I wanted to look beautiful for our date."

Misa was wearing a tight-fitting black dress that accentuated her slender figure. The shiny material subtly reflected light, creating a sparkling effect as she moved. The skirt ended just above the knee, showcasing her shapely legs.

The moderately deep neckline was adorned with small sparkling stones that resembled shimmering stars. Her blonde hair flowed freely, cascading over her shoulders in gentle waves.

She wore high-heeled boots, adding a few inches to her height. Around her neck was a delicate choker with a star-shaped pendant.

Her face was dramatically made up, with her eyes emphasized by black eyeliner and metallic shadow, and her lips painted a vivid red.

Light, gently touching her choker, said, "Every detail about you is thought out. I admire your sense of style."

Misa laughed and twirled, making her dress flutter. She then leaned in, whispering, "You know, Light, the idea was to be unforgettable. I hope it works."

Light leaned in, his lips nearly touching Misa's ear, "A dress can accentuate beauty, but you, Misa, already have an inherent glow that draws attention."

With a tender, almost childlike smile, she looped her arm through Light's, leading him to the elevator.

Once the doors closed and the elevator began its ascent, Misa leaned against the metallic wall, her star choker gently swinging, "I'm starting to think that no matter what I wear, your words will always find a way to make me smile, Light."

Light smiled without answering. The elevator stopped, and as the doors opened, he held her hand and asked, "Didn't Rem come with you?"

A playful smile formed on Misa's lips, "She wanted to, but I told her I wanted some alone time with you. After all, we don't always have moments like this, right?"

They reached the door to Misa's suite.

Misa inserted her key into the lock, pausing momentarily to look at Light. Leaning closer to him, her eyes reflecting a mix of seriousness and mischief, she said, "You know, Light, to Rem, I'm someone to be protected. But for you, I hope to be more than that~"

"It purely depends on your performance," Light winked at her.

The door opened. Both walked in. Inside, Light saw Rem.

Well, it was hard to miss her, considering she was immense compared to human stature...

Light just gave a simple nod in greeting. He honestly didn't care about this Shinigami. To him, she was just like a High-Level Devil with a special ability called the Death Note. Apart from that, there was nothing intriguing about her.

The suite Misa stayed in was spacious and elegantly decorated. The walls were of a neutral shade, perhaps cream, contrasting with the dark wooden furniture. The floor was of shiny marble, reflecting the light coming from the vast panoramic window, which provided a magnificent view of the city, with twinkling buildings and lights on the horizon.

In the center of the room, a king-sized bed dominated the space, draped in immaculate white sheets and decorated with several cushions. Beside it were bedside tables with minimalist lamps. In front of the bed, a low cabinet held a flat-screen TV.

Next to it, a small seating area was delineated, with a modern sofa and chairs surrounding a glass coffee table. A small American kitchen was integrated into the room, complete with modern appliances and a counter with tall stools.

The lighting was soft, with recessed fixtures in the ceiling and some indirect lights, creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. A door led to the bathroom, which, although not in sight, undoubtedly matched the luxury of the rest of the suite.

Light pulled her to the couch, making her sit on his lap.

Misa turned to face him, wrapping her hands around his neck as she gazed into his beautiful blue eyes.

"Misa, there are many things you should know about me," Light began. "There are things I will say that you might not accept, but that's just how things are. After you hear everything, you can decide what to do."

Misa felt her stomach churn. Until then, she had been happy, but hearing this, she felt a fear that made everything seem dark and gray to her.

With a slightly trembling voice, she asked, "Light, you're scaring me... What could you possibly tell me that would make me not accept?"

"It's like this..."

━━━━ ≪?¬ノᆱ ━━━━

A young girl with blonde hair cascading down her back stood out in the crowd. Her middle-parted bangs and a single rebelliously curved strand gave her a distinctive touch. Her green eyes seemed to shine with a light of their own. However, it was her attire that garnered the most attention.

Dressed in a dark nun's outfit adorned with light blue details, she sported a white veil on her head and a brown backpack on her right hip. Her feet were covered in brown boots with black straps forming an X pattern. Hanging around her neck, a necklace with a shimmering silver cross caught the light.

She looked disoriented, her eyes scanning the surroundings as if she were looking for something, or someone.

Meanwhile, turning the corner, Himari and Lala witnessed the scene.

"Let's help her, Himari. She looks troubled," Lala suggested.

Himari nodded in agreement, "Let's go."

Together, they approached the blonde-haired, clear-eyed young girl.

Upon noticing Himari and Lala, her face lit up with a smile. With a voice both gentle and youthful, she greeted, "Good afternoon." Her smile persisted as she continued, "My name is Asia, Asia Argento. I've recently arrived in Japan and am looking for a place to stay. Do you know of any available apartments nearby?"

'Is she the Asia the young master often thinks about?' Himari wondered internally.

Lala, ever straightforward, blurted out, "You're Asia!"

The young girl, clearly taken aback by Lala's exclamation as she pointed at her animatedly, seemed to try to recall where she knew her from.

To clarify, Lala said with a grin, "I'm Lala Satalin Deviluke, fiancée of Light Yagami."

Himari noticed the subtle change in Asia's expression upon hearing the names, especially that of Light.

"You've heard Light's heart voice too, haven't you?" Lala inquired, holding Asia's hand like a long-lost friend.

Drawing back in surprise for a moment, Asia finally responded with her melodious voice and a gentle smile, "Yes, many times I've heard Light-sama's voice..."

To an onlooker, Asia might have appeared to be a young woman in love, lost in memories of a past romance.

"So cute~!" Noticing her expression, Lala exclaimed excitedly and hugged her, "Come with us, you don't have a place to stay, right?"

Asia hesitated. Even though she wanted to get to know the one who had changed her life up close, she seemed apprehensive. "Can... can I?"

"Of course! Right, Himari?" Lala gave Himari a knowing look.

Himari considered for a moment, recalling Light's recent behavior, and nodded. "You're welcome in our home. The young master would likely agree as well."

Lala, with twinkling eyes, continued to hold Asia's hand, eagerly waiting for her decision.

Asia, with a shy smile, replied, "Thank you very much. I'll be grateful for your hospitality."
