"Makino!"
Makino turned to the door upon hearing her name, knowing who it was already. It was none other than 12-year-old Monkey D. Natsu. "Hello there Natsu. How are you?"
"Makino! Please! I'm begging you! Help me!" He threw himself on the floor in front of her, bowing until his head touched the floor. Not caring who saw him or how he looked. The people at the bar not even giving him a second glance, were already used to the twins' antics after years of living in the same village.
The bartender started sweat dropping at his actions, "How about we go to the back and you tell me what you need help with alright?"
The boy with a tail immediately stood up, grabbed her, and ran to the room at the back of the bar where a resting area for workers (Makino) was. "Thanks, Makino!"
Once inside the room, with the door closed, she turned to the boy with an exasperated look and asked, "So, what do you need Natsu?"
Now the reincarnate looked a little embarrassed "Well you see… I need to ask you a huge favor. You can totally say no if you want to! You are not obligated to do it or anything!" Natsu's extra limb was twitching anxiously behind him, showing his discomfort.
"Natsu!" she yelled to gain his attention, "It's alright. How about you tell me what you need first before freaking out, alright?" She smiled reassuringly at him.
He nodded a little shakily, "Yeah, yeah, right." So, he took a deep breath before continuing, "So you see, me and Luffy were talking to Ace and Sabo about Shanks and Uta and what we did and played with them and the crew before they left."
"Right." The green-haired woman nodded, encouraging him to go on.
"But then!" Now he really looked distressed and Makino was getting worried, "In the middle of it Luffy goes and asks me a question! But not just any question!"
"And what did Luffy ask?" the pretty bartender asked apprehensively.
"He goes and I quote here! : 'Hey Natsu. Now for some reason, when I think of Uta I start to feel this mystery feeling inside and get really warm. Why is that happening?' I mean can you believe him!"
Before he could continue the green-haired lady started giggling, "Hihihihihihi! Is that all?"
"NO! THAT'S THE WORST PART!" He was too distressed to be offended by her amusement, "Once Ace and Sabo realized that I could answer since I have memories of my past life when I was an older teenager, THEY ALSO STARTED ASKING QUESTIONS!"
"Hahahahahaha!"
Makino was full-on laughing now. She could see it happening. It made sense after all. Luffy, Ace, and Sabo are twelve and fifteen years old respectively. They were at the age when boys start having feelings about girls and their bodies start changing. And they had a brother who already went through this in a past life and could remember it. So of course they would ask.
"AND I MEAN COME ON! MAYBE I COULD HANDLE LUFFY ALONE! BUT NOT THE THREE OF THEM!" Natsu was fully panicking right now, "I barely managed to make an excuse to leave!" It wasn't much of an excuse really, he just yelled 'BATHROOM!', made a bunch of clones, and ran alongside them in opposite directions.
Once Makino calmed herself down she asked him, "So I'm guessing you want me to give them 'The Talk' right?" That made him freeze in his rant.
"I-i mean y-you do-don't need-d-d to do it if you don't w-want to of course!" His golden pleading eyes and stutter were betraying his true feelings.
She giggled a little more, "Don't worry about it Natsu, I'll do it."
"REALLY?!"
"Of course! I already knew for a long time I needed to give you and Luffy 'The Talk' eventually. Doing it for all three of them won't be a problem!" The beautiful woman smiled reassuringly at him.
"THANK YOU MAKINO! You are a saint! An angel! This cruel world doesn't deserve you!" Natsu was on his knees, hugging her legs, legitimately crying tears of joy and relief.
Makino smiled and blushed a little at his praise, "So, you don't need it also right?" she smirked teasingly at him.
"Of course not! One is enough for multiple lifetimes! Believe you me!" He backed away and raised his hands defensively.
"Hihihihi! Don't worry Natsu! I'm just teasing! Now, how about you go and tell those three to come here tomorrow morning, alright?" she said.
"Sure Makino! Thanks again!" He smirked, before kissing her on the cheek and then running out of the room before she could process it.
She blinked, before giggling with a little blush, "Oh Natsu! You tease!"
"Hey, Makino!" Luffy entered Makino's bar with an enthusiastic greeting, with two of his brothers trailing behind him. Ace and Sabo looked ready to go back to sleep at any moment, after all, Natsu had woken them up as soon as morning came. Demanding they 'shove their asses down to Makino's bar so that she can answer their annoying ass questions'.
Luffy didn't care who answered his questions as long as he got an answer it was okay for him. He didn't see what the big deal was. Ace and Sabo on the other hand looked very uncomfortable to be there. They were angry with Natsu for having gone to Makino and told her what they asked, but Natsu had none of it. He told them that they could either go to her or not get any answer at all. Natsu even used his 'technically/mentally older brother' card to get them here. So here they were.
"I'm still saying that 'I am technically older' argument is bullshit." Ace was grumbling the whole way down. Luffy didn't see any problem with it. Even before he got his memories back, Natsu acted as the older and responsible one between the two of them. Sabo was more on Ace's side of the argument. "Totally! I mean, he either acts as the responsible older one or the innocent little one whenever it pleases him! He needs to choose one or the other!"
"Hello Luffy! Hello there to you too, Ace and Sabo!" Makino smiled at them, none of the three noticed the dangerous, teasing gleam in her eyes. Later on, they definitely would.
"How about we go to the room at the back so that I can answer your questions alright? I even made a fun little slide show!"
Ace, Luffy, and Sabo climbed into their tree house, where Natsu rested on his reinforced hammock reading a manga. His furry tail was holding a water bottle for him, swinging lazily from side to side. He heard them enter and turned to them, closing his manga, "Hey guys! How was it?"
"SHUT IT!" Ace and Sabo yelled at him, with tomato-red faces, before grabbing their pipes and then running out in different directions in the forest. Clearly, they wanted some time alone.
Natsu blinked and turned to Luffy, "Are they okay?" He of course knew what was up with them, he just wanted to see if 'The Talk' had any effect on Luffy.
"Yeah, I think they are just embarrassed by that Talk with Makino." Luffy also had a blush on his face but was a lot smaller than Ace and Sabo, almost unnoticeable really.
Natsu nodded, "Right, I can understand that. What about you though?"
"What about me?"
"Aren't you embarrassed?"
"Why would I? There's nothing to be embarrassed about?" He looked genuinely confused.
Natsu sighed, deciding Luffy was a lost cause when it came to women and relationships, "Never change Luffy, never change." He started taking a sip of his water bottle with his tail.
"I like Uta."
"PFFFTTT! KAGH! *cough!* Luffy! Were you *cough!* waiting for *cough!* me to start drinking?!"
"Shishishishishi! Of course!" The little shit actually looked smug for catching him off guard, this demands retribution.
*cough!* *cough!* "So? What are you going to do about it?" *cough!* "Godadamn! I hope you know I am going to get you back for this."
Luffy ignored the last part, "I'm going to tell her when I see her again, of course, you dummy. Hopefully, by then I will already be King or at least a really great pirate. Then we will be together."
"Mmmh. Alright then. Good luck. Just remember that both of you will probably be different people by then. She might say no. Or she might be with someone else." Natsu was a little worried.
When Luffy decided something he maintained that decision with an iron grip, not changing his mind at all. That can certainly be an admirable trait, after all, he wouldn't be able to even get close to becoming Pirate King if he didn't have the determination or stubbornness to do so. But he was still worried he would eventually hurt himself, attaching himself to an idealized version of himself and Uta together that may turn into disappointment later. Because people and relationships are a lot more complicated than becoming Pirate King.
"Nah, don't worry," Luffy smiled, recognizing his brother was just worrying about him, "I know she will be different by the time we meet but she will still be Uta. If she is with someone else then that's fine if she's happy. And if she says no, that's okay too! We will always be friends anyway! Besides, I can't be thinking about that until I'm King of the Pirates! Or until I am at the same level as Shanks at least!"
Natsu smiled back at his brother, "Well then, consider me surprised, that is very mature of you Luffy."
The straw hat boy looked very proud of himself, "Of course it was! I am super mature!"
"Oh really?" Skepticism was so thick in his voice, that even Luffy recognized it.
"Yeah!"
"Hey Luffy look! A talking, walking reindeer doctor!"
"WHERE?! I WANT HIM ON THE CREW!"
"Ghighighighighi!"
"Hey! That's not fair!"
"Look! A skeleton that sings and poops!"
"I WANT HIM TOO!"
