Chapter 18: Assasination

The light comes into view. I slowly wake up. My head is laying on something….soft? I slowly sit up, rubbing my eyes, to see Toga. What? How did she find me? "How did you find me?" I ask. "Right after you left, I followed you. I didn't want to be around…them…some of them looked like they wanted to kill me." She replies. I stand up, but as soon as I do, I fall to the ground again. I start throwing up. It must have been from the wine. After I stop, I wipe my mouth. "I think you need to lay down. Come here." She motions to her legs. I blush a bit. "N-no! I'm good." She rolls her eyes. "I'm not trying to be flirty this time, you actually need to rest. So come here." It wasn't a request. I crawl over to her and lay my head down. She slowly strokes my hair, and we sit in silence for a bit. "Do you want to talk?" She asks. I shake my head. We sit quietly for a bit, then she taps my head. "I got your phone for you, I don't know why it was across the pond, but here you go." She hands me my phone and I take it. I slowly start to sit up. Last night was a nightmare. Uraraka. Kacchan. My mom. Tears start streaming down my face. Toga leans her head on my shoulder. I lean mine on hers. I start to fall asleep on her. I wake up again, this time I see her in front of me, playing with the grass. "Hey." I say, still half asleep. She turns around, then smiles. "Hey! You feel better?" "Yeah, I really needed that rest." She stands up, and offers me her hand. I take it. She pulls me into a hug. I hug her back, surprised. "What now?" I ask her. "I didn't plan for any of this." She lets go and shrugs. "You got a few dings on your phone, maybe that is important." I check my phone to see a message from Jirou. I open it up, and it reads: "Sorry about last night, we want to make it up to you. Would you meet us at Universal studios?" I read the text and show it to Toga. "Your call." I tell her. "Yes." She says. "Free Universal trip? 100%! I've always wanted to go there!" I roll my eyes, of course she wants to go. "All right. Hop on my back." She looks a little shy. "What's wrong?" I ask her. "C-could I…could I have a kiss?" She asks. I think. "Oh nevermind, I knew I wasn't good enou-" I pull her close and kiss her. It felt good the first time, and it feels good now. She starts kissing back. The feel of her soft lips, the tension between our bodies, and the warm sun shining overhead makes it the perfect kiss. We break apart. She smiles sadly. "We have to hide this from the others don't we?" I nod. "Trust me, it will be worth it. We will get to know each other better, and that will help me fix you." My heart drops, hoping she won't notice the last words. "So that's how it is." She says quietly. "Himiko is a dangerous villain. I'll pretend to be in love with her and fix her. I'll be the hero! Then, my dear Ochaco will love me, and we'll live happily ever after!" "You know I didn't mean that." I say quietly as well. "Well, I want you to know that I DON'T NEED TO BE FIXED! I'm perfectly fine the way I am! I don't need to change a thing!" There is silence for a bit. "Knowing that you have something wrong is the first step toward change." I tell her. "I'm perfectly fine the way I am. And If you can't see that, maybe I'll kill you!" I wasn't fazed by this death threat. "Toga!" I pull her close again. "Of course you are perfect the way you are!" This was obviously a lie, but after she heard it she calmed down. "Alright. I won't kill you….for now." "Alright. Are you ready to go?" I ask. She nods, and climbs on my back. I use blackwhip to secure her, then jump towards universal. It took about ten minutes to get there, but I could see the group in the parking lot. I land, and I see Momo do a little fist pump. I let toga go, then turn to Jirou. "Look, I'm sorry for the way I acted last night." I apologize. "It's all right." She responds. "Hell, I'd be pissed too if I learned that my best friend and Mom died." I nod. "We all good?" She nods. "We wanted to get lunch here, if that is okay with you." I nod. "Yeah, I am kinda hungry, I threw up this morning." She laughs. "Alcohol does that to you." I blush a bit. We make our way inside. We walk towards a cafe, with three tables already prepared. I make Toga sit at the end, and I sit to her right. Tokoyami nods with Momo. Why? I don't know. "So, where'd you guys sleep last night?" Kirishima asks. "We slept at a pond." Toga responds. I could see the whole class was a little weary of Toga. We order our food, and start to eat. It becomes dead silent. I look around, and everyone is looking in different directions, other than my direction. I get increasingly suspicious. I remember what toga said earlier about them looking like they wanted to kill her. I have a strong hunch…I activate Danger sense to 70% When I get to 40%, I can pinpoint someone's exact location, and after that, the range increases. When I use it, a wailing comes in my head. It's coming from everyone here except Jirou and kirishima. There's nobody to get angry at except…. I increase the range, And feel someone on the top of the ferris wheel. I look close to see a bunch of purple. It can only be one person….Nagant. They hired a sniper to kill Toga. I take out my phone, text something in my notes. "Sniper, two o' clock. When I use smokescreen, drop to the floor. I think they hired one to kill you." I hand the phone to toga, who reads it. She looks at me, then nods. She hands it back. I look back at the class, and they are all eating. None of them are looking in my direction. I feel the tension. I hear someone whistle. A signal. I need to smokescreen before the sound reaches her ears. I stand up and smokescreen, while Toga drops to the floor. "I told you he'd find out." Jirou says, amused. I smash the tables, sending all of them flying. I grab Toga's hand, And pull her away. If it is Nagant, she won't get tricked easily. The only way we can escape is if we make a run for it. "You ready?" I ask toga. She nods. "I'm gonna strap you to the front of me, so if she shoots, she'll hit me and not you. Toga starts to protest, but I shush her. She reluctantly climbs on me. The others are stirring, so I have to act fast. I activate one for all, and jump towards the exit. I immediately get shot. One in my chest, one in my leg, one in my foot, and one on my ear. I cry out in pain, but I keep moving. Closer…closer…. We make it out of the theme park, with bullets, lightning, acid, and dark shadow trailing behind us. I keep running, not stopping until I find somewhere safe. It was a trap. Those backstabbing jerks. I see an old abandoned barn, and run towards it. I look down to see Toga with her eyes closed, grabbing onto me tightly. We land, and I stumble into the barn, falling on some hay. I groan in pain, looking at the wounds. I'm too weak to move right now. Toga gets up, and rolls me over. "You're gonna be okay, okay?" She says. I dont reply, it hurts. It really hurts. "Get ready, this is gonna hurt." I brace for whatever she is gonna do. I feel the bullet get slowly removed from my back. I scream out in pain, it feels terrible. I hear a sucking noise. Is….is she really doing that right now? She reaches in my pockets for my wallet, then takes my phone as well. "Hey wha-?" She yanks the other bullet out of my calf. I cry out in pain again. I hear more sucking, then she rolls me over. "What are you doing?" I ask. She reaches for my face, then pinches my nose. Is she giving C.P.R.? She grabs my mouth, and slams it shut too. I can't breathe. I try to struggle, but I'm too weak. I'm losing oxygen. She leans down and whispers, "Sweet dreams." In a seductive tone. I try once more to get her hands off me, but to no avail. Is this how I'm going to die? At the hands of the girl who I thought….I start seeing black, everything fades, and I pass out.
