Episode 2: 3-D Struction
– Separator –
Our view opens as a group of people trek through a jungle. One is obviously a guide as he carries a pickaxe and seems to know where they are going. The second man is just as obviously an explorer. He carries a machete, wears a pith helmet, and has a pack of some kind strapped to his back. The rest carry supplies.
We watch as 2 of the men cut their way through the jungle. "It should not be much farther Senior" the lead guide says to the explorer.
Using the machete, the explorer cuts through a few more vines, revealing a well-traveled path. Most of the others gasp at the sight. The group follow this path for a few minutes.
"There it is" the explorer says in reverence.
What comes into view is the ruins of some kind of temple. We can see a pile of bones lying in the center of the ruins. The explorer heads straight for the bones.
As the man starts to gather the bones the guide gives the man a look of fear. "What are you doing? Those are the bones of the ~Gigantasaurus~ you cannot take them away!"
The explorer gives the guide a look. "Watch me mait."
The guide stands ringing his hands. "But they are sake rid of these people. Whoever disturbs the bones will be struck with a terrible curse."
The explorer scoffs. "a curse, get real!"
As the explorer lifts the last bone a spirit appears Infront of him. Everyone except the explorer and the guide fled in fright. As the spirit attacks the explorer the guide runs back into the jungle. As the temple disappears from sight, we hear the roar of a dinosaur.

Our view shifts at first to the sky outside, before moving into a private jet. In comfortable seats we find Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby Doo. Shaggy and Scooby are eating peanuts, while Velma takes pictures with a small camera.
"Oh boy! Nothing beats airplane food Scoob."
"I can't believe we're going to Costa Rica! Daphne, you have got to thank your uncle for this trip."
Daphne smiles at Fred. "Since he couldn't make it to the opening of the museum exhibit, he thought we would enjoy it."
Velma takes another picture. "This private jet sure tops commercial flights."
Shaggy nods. "You said it, Velma. Like the only thing missing is free peanuts." Shaggy and Scooby pull out large bags of peanuts. "So, we brought our own."
Daphne looks around the plane. "Hay has anyone seen Ivy?"
Velma smiles. "She didn't have a passport, so she couldn't board the plane with us. I suspect she is flying with the plane on that broom of hers."
The gang laughs as our view shifts outside of the plane showing the plane continue to fly through the sky. Off the left-wing tip, we see a small speck following the plane.
We watch as the private jet lands at the airport, and then follow the gang as they tour around the city. Velma takes plenty of pictures.
"The Costa Rican Museum has a top paleontology department. People come from all over the world to work on their fossils and bones."
Scooby perks up at Velma's words. "Bones, yum!"
Our view fades as they reach the museum.

Our view returns to the gang standing outside the museum's doors as they open. It is clear from how they are dressed that most of these people are used to moving about in high society. Out of the entire group Daphne seems the most relaxed.
"Wow! These people sure know how to throw dinner."
Shaggy nods. "That's good. Cause I sure know how to catch 1."
The gang follows other attendees into a theater. In addition to a large screen that takes up the entirety of the back wall, there are several tables spread throughout the space facing the screen. The gang follow a red carpet as cameras flash.
Glancing around Daphne suddenly looks panicked. "Nobody told us it was black tie! Do I have time to change?"
Shaggy and Scooby look up at Daphne's words. The 2 of them catch sight of a dinosaur exhibit. "Like this guy would be pretty scary. If it wasn't for his carbo challenged physique."
Velma snaps a picture of the dinosaur. Fred notices the equipment by the screen.
"Surround sound speakers. They make that band seem like they're right in the room."
A man walks up to the group. "~good evening, friends~. I am the museum curator, Dr. Armando Gutierrez. Witch 1 of you is Daphne?"
Daphne steps forward. "That be me!"
Dr. Gutierrez shakes Daphne's hand. "Your uncle wanted you to enjoy our little dinosaur exhibit."
Velma gestures to the dinosaur Shaggy and Scooby had just commented on. "Not so little."
Dr. Gutierrez smiles. "If the museum is going to keep its doors open, we need to find exciting ways to attract young people."
Shaggy and Scooby spot food. "Well, there's way number 1!"
"Reh."
The explorer from earlier walks up. "Gooday mates."
Dr. Gutierrez turns to the man. "Kids meet the man responsible for this exhibit. Our museum archaeologist."
Fred's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. "Melbourne O'Reilly! Wow, I just saw you on the cover of last month's Adventure Illustrated. Hand catching piranhas on the Amazon."
O'Reilly shrugs, though 1 could see a tiny smile at the corner of his mouth. "Ah that was nothing. Just a day at the beach compared to collecting those dino bones."
Fred nods. "I'd guess they were kind of heavy."
O'Reilly shakes his head. "I was lucky to get out of the jungle with my life."
Daphne looks puzzled. "What do you mean?"
O'Reilly turns toward Daphne. "Some say there's a curse on those bones. Whoever takes them from their resting place will suffer the dinosaur spirit's revenge, but I took them anyway."
Fred has sparkles in his eyes. "And you survived."
O'Reilly nods to Fred. "Sure did. "Corse it's hard to explain what smashed in that room when they were putting the thing together."
Velma looks skeptical. "After 65 million years, I think even its spirit would be extinct by now."
Shaggy and Scooby rejoin the gang. "Grate food a Scoob."
Scooby nods as he walks over to where Fred, Daphne, and Velva are standing. He accidentally bumps 1 of the bones of the dinosaur pushing it loose. Quickly Scooby pulls the bone back into place, watching for a minute to see if the exhibit will remain standing. Fortunately, the dinosaur didn't fall.
Just as Scooby joins the gang the entire museum shakes as though from an earthquake. Dr. Gutierrez raises his voice. "Stay calm everyone. Everything will be fine."
Velma stands next to O'Reilly. "I suppose that's the spirit of the dinosaur?"
O'Reilly shakes his head. "Spirits are nothing but wombat muck."
Once the museum stops shaking, Fred approaches Dr. Gutierrez. "Dr. Gutierrez, do you mind if we take a look around your museum?"
Dr. Gutierrez smiles. "Not at all." The doctor gestures for a young woman to join them. "This is Heather Lane, a foreign exchange student who volunteers giving tours."
"Hello."
Dr. Gutierrez smiles at Heather. "Heather if you please, a special tour for my special ~friends~ here."

Our view shifts to the gang walking through a museum exhibit. Velma continues to take pictures as the gang walks. "We're 1 of the few museums to exhibit actual rocks from the moon." Heather points to some moon rocks on display.
Shaggy and Scooby try biting into some of the rocks. "Like the moon isn't actually made out of green cheese?" Scooby throws his rock back up onto its shelf.
"Over there is the excavating vehicle used by astronauts to retrieve the rocks." Heather points at a large vehicle resting on the floor.
Fred examines the excavator. "What's, Baita?"
"The second letter of the Greek alphabet" Velma snarks.
Heather smiles. "Just a nickname for the vehicle. lots easier than saying Igneous Petrofaction Accumulator."
Fred shakes his head. "That, would be Greek to me."
The gang follows Heather into another exhibit. "I guess you heard about our dinosaur spirit?" Heather gestures to a damaged wall. There is a large opening leading out of the exhibit.
"Looks like it doesn't bother using doors" Fred said.
"My uncle mentioned the museum is built on an old, abandoned mine shaft."
Heather gives Daphne a funny look. "Sure... that's 1 of our most popular exhibits. Right this way."
The group follows Heather into a maze of tunnels. "This was a working gold mine until about 75 years ago. Then they closed up all the connecting tunnels."
Velma looks around. "Kind of reminds me of the subway, but less creepy."
Daphne glances around. "What's that sound?"
We See Scooby digging in the dirt. Scooby looks up as Fred's and Velma's eyes lock on to him. Scooby chuckles.
Heather's radio comes to life. "Heather this is Dr. Gutierrez. Could you please bring our guests back? The Cine Grande presentation is about to begin."
Heather turns toward 1 of the other tunnels. "Back to the surface we go."

Our view shifts back to the theater the dinner took place in. Dr. Gutierrez stands by the large screen. "We will cap our evening off with a premiere showing of a 3-d movie on our giant Cine Grande screen. And in the audience is J.J. Hakimoto. The director of the documentary."
Our view shifts to an excited man sitting in the audience. "It's huge. It's scary. It's right in your lap. J.J. Hakimoto brings you Gigantasaurus 3-d. But coming soon G 3-d 2, the pandemonium continues. The next time it's personal."
The audience claps as the lights dim.
Shaggy laughs before the lights completely dim. "The previews are my favorite part."
Fred shushes Shaggy as the screen lights up.
On the screen we see different dinosaurs moving through a jungle. As the dinosaurs run into the distance a dinosaur that looks like the 1 that was with the gang during dinner comes into view. The dinosaur looks around at the other dinosaurs, and roars causing the dinosaurs to run off.
"Jeepers! That is so real!"
Shaggy nods to Daphne. "Sure is. I can practically spell his breath. And like it's been a while since he's had a mint."
Scooby watches as the dinosaur looks toward the audience, pauses, and without warning jumps toward and out of the screen with a roar. Everyone runs out of the theater as the dinosaur recks the place.

The following day sees the gang examining the damage caused by the dinosaur. The film director walks by.
"Just when you thought it was safe to go to the museum." The director walks off.
Daphne looks around in disappointment. "What a mess. Dr. Gutierrez, you must be devastated."
The Dr. shrugs. "It can all be rebuilt. Who knows when people hear about the excitement, attendance might skyrocket."
Scooby sniffs around the carnage. The original guide for O'reilly approaches.
"~Greetings~ I am Luis Cepeda, and I represent the people of the central valley. You have stolen their sacred bones. I beg you for their immediate return."
Dr. Gutierrez faces the man. "I have stolen nothing. The future of the museum rests on such exhibits. The bones will remain right here."
"The ancient temple of Alazar is their rightful place. If the bones are not returned there. I warn you; grater disaster will befall you."
Unseen by either men Scooby is standing off to 1 side. "Disaster!" Scooby runs back to Shaggy.
O'Reilly walks up to join the group. "Cepeda! Gooday."
"You have a lot to answer for my friend." Cepeda walks away. O'Reilly looks after Cepeda before looking over at the kids.
Daphne pats his arm. "He can't blame you."
O'Reilly Shakes his head. "No, he's right. I brought the Gigantasaurus here. If there is a beast, I must find it and capture it. No worries, I have a plan."
Fred perks up. "A plan! Melbourne, you are the man."
Saz the rest of the gang follow O'Reilly Velma turns to Ivy who has just pulled off her cloak. "What do you think?"
Ivy looks puzzled. "Something is bothering me about that dinosaurs rampage. I mean the timing between it jumping out of the screen, and causing damage doesn't add up."
Velma nods. "I'm going to stay with the others, what will you be doing?"
Ivy smiles at Velma. "I'm going to try and find evidence that the dinosaur was already in the theater."
Velma nods, and hurries to catch up with the others.

Our view shifts to O'Reilly and the gang walking down 1 of the tunnels under the museum. Scooby catches a sent, and so moves over to check it out. Without warning a creature lunges out of a hole behind Scooby and bites him in the backside. Scooby jumps in surprise and runs around for a few minutes in a pane.
A little later the group comes to an intersection of tunnels. O'Reilly examines the ground. "The footprints trail in this direction."
Velma snaps a picture of the tracks. As the group continues to follow O'Reilly Velma snaps more pictures.
Suddenly Shaggy feels something strange under his foot and looks down at his shoe. "Like guys, there's something weird on my shoe."
The others gather around Shaggy. and examine his shoe. "What is it man."
Daphne backs away. "I'd say greenish, gray, gross, goop."
Velma examines the stuff with interest. "I'd say it resembles coprolite."
Fred tilts his head. "Coprolite?"
Velma gives everyone a blank look. "Dinosaur poop."
Everyone except Velma and O'Reilly have expressions of disgust. "Eww."
O'Reilly shakes his head. "Hay that's useful stuff. I do a lot of my tracking on what the beasties leave behind."
This time even Velma has an expression of disgust. "Eww."
The gang continue following O'reilly, until they come to a new set of tunnels. Fred looks puzzled.
"Those tunnels. Yesterday they were boarded up."
"Not today mate. Nobody's been inside them for over 75 years. Or so they say."
Shaggy and Scooby stop short. "Why should we ignore an age-old tradition?"
Fred grabs Shaggy before he can run off. "Come on."
As the gang continues following the tunnel shaggy looks down, and spots something gleaming in the light of the group's flashlights. "Wow! Look what I found."
Daphne doesn't even turn around. "Is it going to make us say eww?"
Shaggy ignores Daphne. "We're rich."
O'Reilly walks back to Shaggy and examines the rock in his hand. "Sorry it's only iron pyrite. Fool's gold mate."
Shaggy tosses the rock to the ground. "Well, if any fools come through here, it's their lucky day." Shaggy kicks the wall, then hops on 1 foot for a minute while in pane.
A little later the group came to an intersection of tunnels. Daphne looks down on some of them. "So many choices. Witch way do we go?"
Fred's eyes gleam. "I think it's time we split up."
Daphne stands by O'Reilly. "Well, I'm going with Melbourne."
Everyone else joins her. "Me too."
O'Reilly shakes his head. "Crickey that's not exactly splitting up. I'll go on my own. You ladies, go with Fred. Shaggy and Scooby you can make a vigorous team."
Shaggy and Scooby shake their heads in surprise.
Fred stands between Daphne and Velma. "We'll meet back in the main tunnel."
With that the group separates.

Shaggy and Scooby find a set of tracks leading into the tunnel. "We'll just follow these little train tracks. This must be how the miners got around. And look, moldy miner munchies."
Shaggy breaks a sandwich in half and gives 1 half to Scooby. "Well, a 75-year-old sandwich is better than none."
Scooby nods in agreement.
As they bite into their sandwiches a sound can be heard from down the tunnel. "This tunnel sure makes loud echos."
The 2 of them hear a rumble from somewhere in the tunnel. "Like tell me that's you Scoob."
Scooby shakes his head.
Shaggy looks scared. "I don't think it's me either."
Both shake in fear. The 2 of them hear the sound again.
"I know that's not me. Come on!"
The 2 of them start running down the tunnel. Just around the next turn the 2 of them run into the dinosaur spirit. The dinosaur roars scaring the 2 of them.
– Chace scene to the music of Gü-Güe-Güepa –
Shaggy and Scooby make a wide turn around the dinosaur and begin running back the way they came. The dinosaur follows them as they find a cart waiting on the tracks. Shaggy sits in the driver's area, while Scooby hangs on for dear life. They try using the cart to outrun the dinosaur, but it keeps up with them easily. At one point Scooby tries hiding in a removable ceiling panel, however the roar of the dinosaur causes him to fall from the ceiling, and back into the cart. Shaggy continues to drive the cart along the tracks through the tunnel. The dinosaur keeps bumping into the walls, slowing it down long enough for Shaggy and Scooby to round a bend out of sight of the dinosaur.
– End of chase scene –
Shaggy and Scooby nearly ran over Fred, Daphne, and Velma as they took a corner just a little too fast. Every member of the gang is now riding in the cart as it speeds toward a dead end. Without warning part of the tunnel seems to turn into a slide, and the cart picks up speech as it flies off the edge of a ramp.
Shaggy grins in triumph. "We made it!"
Daphne points ahead. "Watch out!"
Shaggy examines the minecart. "I don't know how to stop this thing. The gang cried out in fear as they hurtled toward a stand of trees. The minecart crashes into a palm tree knocking a coconut onto Shaggy's head. "Now I do."
Scooby spots the same creature that bit him back in the tunnels. He dodges away from the sharp teeth.
Fred looks around. "Where are we?"
Velma examines the trees the minecart crashed into. "That mine must have a hidden entrance."
Daphne shrugs. "At least we all got out, but we haven't' seen O'Reilly."
"I'm alright mates." O'Reilly walks up to the gang. "I had a rough go trying to find you kids."
Daphne points to the minecart. "Shaggy and Scooby saved us."
Shaggy looks puzzled. "We did? The last thing I remember was dinosaur breath. It smelled like my dad's stationwaggon exhaust."
Velma looks thoughtful. "Somehow I think that's not a real dinosaur, but somebody wants us to believe it is."
Scooby notices Ivy hovering above the gang, and nudges Velma. Pointing to Ivy after getting her attention.
As the gang and O'Reilly walk back to the museum Daphne glances down at Shaggy's shoes. "Eww!"
Shaggy glances at Daphne. "What?"
"You're tracking in that gunk."
Fred pauses. "Isn't that proof there's a real dinosaur?"
Daphne looks back down at what is on Shaggy's shoes, and blinks. "No. Wait just a minute. This stuff is bat guano. It's the bake of many cosmetics."
Velma returns with a large smile on her face. "Another good reason to keep my natural look."

We find the gang gathered around a table in the empty theater. Velma is clicking through the pictures she has taken while on this case. Ivy sits beside her watching the screen. Fred and Daphne sit across from them holding hands as Daphne examines her nails. Shaggy and Scooby are sitting behind the group snacking on something.
"It was great of Dr. Gutierrez to allow us to do some detective work here. I'm testing Scooby's bone through the museum's carbon dating process. To find out how old it is. I've also been running my photos through face recognition equipment."
Fred looks up from watching Daphne. "Maybe you'll find a clue to who is behind this devastating, dinosaur, disaster."
Daphne looks up from her nails. "Who do you think Fredy?"
Fred rubs his chin. "Hum well it's Dr. Gutierrez Museum. And he sure wants to get some publicity."
Daphne glances around the room. "How about Melbourne O'Reilly. Seems he'd do anything to look like a hero."
Fred shakes his head. "He is a hero. He said so in the magazines."
This time Daphne shakes her head. "And that Heather sure dresses nice for a student that works for free."
Shaggy looks up from his and Scooby's snack. "Well how about the film maker dude. Like he's hoping his 3-d lizards will smash him through a smash hit."
Daphne nods to Shaggy. "And I've got a funny feeling about that Senior "Cepeda, and his disaster talks."
As "Cepeda's picture flashes up on the screen Ivy gasps. "Hay, I know that guy."
"You do Ivy" Velma asks.
Ivy nods. "He's no guide. In fact, he's a squib con artist. The magical authorities have been trying to catch him for 5 years now."
Velma looks worried. "Does this mean if you use your magic to help catch him, he'll recognize it?"
Ivy shakes her head. "He can't use magic, so he won't know if it is used against him."
Fred frowns. "So, what interest would he have in the dinosaur bones?"
Ivy shakes her head. "I have no idea."
Daphne sighs. "If only we could trap that dinosaur. WE might get some answers."
Fred slowly smiles. "Hay, I have a plan. I think we can use the facilities here to capture that beast. All we need is for Shaggy and Scooby to lure it out of the mine shaft."
Shaggy's eyes bug out. "Like no way man. Our Luring days are over."
Velma pulls a box out of her purse. "Would you do it for Scooby Snacks, industrial size?"
Shaggy and Scooby pause for a minute, before diving on to the snacks, and devouring all of them.

Shaggy and Scooby stand before the tunnels leading into the mine. "Hay dinosaur. We know you're in there. Come out with your scales, up!"
The tunnels are silent. Shaggy gives Scooby a wink.
"I think I see a cute lady Gigantasaurus out here."
Scooby pretends to be a lady Gigantasaurus. "You-who!"
Shaggy whistles.
Nothing happens.
Shaggy shrugs as he turns to Scooby. "Well, Scoob, we did our best."
The 2 of them stiffen as they hear a roar from the tunnel. "Like run!"
Shaggy and Scooby run back toward the trap. The dinosaur spirit charges out of the tunnel. It continues to follow Shaggy and Scooby as they get near where the gang is waiting.
Fred looks up as he hears the roar. "Wait ago guys. Now we'll catch that thing."
The dinosaur is trapped in a cage of dinosaur bones. It seems to stop, but breaks out of the trap with ease, and disappears back into the tunnels.
Velma examines the bones that made up the trap. "Hay gang" she calls to the others who are examining the failed trap. "I think I figured something out. Get everyone to come to the Cine Grande Theater."

Our view shifts to the theater the gang watched the film in. Each of the suspects is sitting in the front row facing Velma who is standing by the large screen.
"Thank you all for coming. Now I'd like to share with you some very special vacation photos."
Shaggy and Scooby are munching their way through a pile of snacks. "Like pass the gummy monkeys."
"Here we have our friend shaggy. demonstrating there is no creature living in the mine tunnels, other than bats."
On the screen we see a picture of shaggy standing in a pile of bat guano. Everyone pulls a disgusted face.
Shaggy smiles. "Like no one said detective work was easy."
"There are speakers throughout the museum, and as you can see " Velma clicks to the next picture "also in the mine exhibit. This particular is called a subwoofer. It can make a sound that sounds like," Velma presses a button. A loud roar echos through the museum.
We next saw a picture of the Baitta excavator. "This might also be familiar. I believe that these things were used to frighten away people who were getting too close. You may ask, too close to what? Again, our friend Shaggy has come up with an answer."
Everyone looks at Shaggy. "You can thank me later, and also tell me why."
Velma clicks to the next picture. It shows Shaggy tossing a rock away from himself.
Shaggy laughs. "Like fools gold!"
Velma shakes her head. "No. What Shaggy threw away was real gold. Somebody has discovered an active vain in the museum gold mine. And figured out a system to get it safely out."
Velma clicks to the next picture. This 1 appears to be a close up of the Baitta excavator.
"If there's a Baitta, there must be an Alpha. The first letter of the Greek alphabet."
Velma presses a button causing the dinosaur to roar from the excavator.
"Made over to look like a dinosaur, someone's been using this thing to mine the gold, and get it out a secret entrance. But who!"
Most of those in the room turn to look at the director who looks up as the excavator turns toward him.
"A crime. Super charged with suspense, danger, raw human emotion. But I didn't do it."
Velma nods to the director. "Of course not." Velma points to Heather. "Our little college student is a very talented art major. Very capable of designing a dinosaur to fit over an excavator."
Museum security grabs Heather.
Shaggy Grins. "So, she's an art major, and a gold miner."
Cepeda starts to rise. "Well now that that is settled."
Velma waves to "Cepeda. "Not so fast Senior "Cepeda, there's a bit more." Velma clicks to another picture. "I used the museum's lab to carbon date this bone that Scooby had, and the other gigantasaurus bones too. They all come from different ages. Some thousands of years apart. In other words, from different dinosaurs." Another clicks, another picture. "Senior "Cepeda knew the bones weren't authentic, he just planted them at those ruins to create the legend of the curse and scare people away. because that is where the gold is stored until it can be sold."
Everyone gasped at the picture on the screen.
"When the museum became interested in the bones" Velma continued, Cepeda had hoped the curse would scare away O'Rielly."
O'Rielly cried "never!"
Echoed by Fred a second later.
Velma smiled. "When it didn't, the dinosaur had to become real. With Cepeda and Heather controlling it."
Velma clicks to another picture. It shows the Costa Rica police standing in front of the museum. "This last 1 I just took outside the museum."
Cepeda looks at the picture and sits back down. "We would've gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling ~kids~."
As the police enter and cuff Heather and Cepeda, Shaggy turns to Scooby. "Good thing this place doesn't have a metal detector a Scoob?"
"Reh."

Our view shifts to the gang trying to assemble a dinosaur skeleton. Dr. Gutierrez approaches the group. "I really want to thank you kids for getting involved."
Daphne smiles at the museum's director. "That's our specialty."
Dr. Gutierrez smiles and shakes Daphne's hand. "The gold will help pay for repairing the museum, and it will also prove to be an exciting and authentic exhibit after all."
Our view shifts away from the 2 over to where Fred and Velma are working to assemble a dinosaur. Fred looks over to where Shaggy and Scooby are stuffing their faces. "Hay Shag, you going to pitch in?"
Shaggy looks up with his mouth still full. "Like sure."
Walking over with Scooby, Shaggy reaches out, and pulls a broom from the Gigantasaurus. The entire skeleton collapses into a pile of bones, burying Shaggy, Scooby, Fred and Velma under them. Scooby pops up out of the pile holding 2 bones. "Scooby Dooby Doo!"
Faid to black.

An: and that's it for this chapter. You may have noticed Ivy has a far reduced presents in this chapter. That will continue into the next chapter, before she starts coming back into the spotlite in chapter 4. There is a reason for this, and no I won't be telling you all what it is until chapter 6. If you want to wait until that chapter to start reading again, more power to yu. Like wize if you want to find something else to read, more power to you. However for those who read all my chapters for this story, thank you very much.
Well that's all for this week, and I will see you all next time.
