Written for a prompt. John is a ghost, having died in Afghanistan. By sheer power of will, he manages to remain as a ghost. When he meets Sherlock, he finds a reason to stay solid, but after Sherlock falls, John can't help but fade. So when Sherlock returns, and John is nowhere to be found, he starts to fall apart. 3 chapters.
