Sherlock Holmes was not good with people, preferred solitude, and was perfectly capable of paying the rent by himself. But - as his brother oh-so-kindly forced him to acknowledge - he needed a flatmate.

"You look sad, when you think he can't see you..." but John can see, much deeper than Sherlock's expression. John can look at Sherlock and see his sister, past and present. But it wasn't all parallel.

He calmly returned to his favorite brand of heroin; solitude. She suddenly disappeared, vaguely suggesting that they still could be friends. But the both of them knew that they never could meet the standards for being the dictionary form of friends.
