In the Senate building, total chaos was going on with no one being able to do anything about it. The disappearance of Mas Amedda and Tarkin has caused fear in everyone.

The fear of an attack by the separatists, on their part, takes over. The news that the Chancellor had fallen into separatist hands was something that no one denied.

But before any decision, Mon Mothma's Rodian assistant makes a statement.

"That is not true... The Jedi attacked the Chancellor in the 500th republic. On the day of the attack I saw him very injured. He told me that the Jedi were trying to kill him... this is a deliberate lie to make us believe that the separatists attacked the Chancellor... I am very sure of it"

The statement was overwhelming, such words declared the Jedi Order to be liars and hypocrites.

Early morning (ninth day after collapse)

In the middle of the night, while Anakin thought about everything that had happened and the fear that something was going to happen to the Chancellor, now that he had changed to good. He has proven it, shown that he agreed to be taught by him, to control his darkness.

But in the middle of his thoughts, Obi-wan arrives and informs him that the vault they were trying to open was broken, and now they could know what was inside.

They both ran, and when they arrived they saw with great surprise what the vault contained. But the most impressive thing was that he did not present himself as Chancellor Palpatine but as the dark lord of the Sith Darth Sidious. The Sith they had searched for so long, for so long.

But there was something else, some documents that had a kind of lock where it was not yet possible to access... but they could sense that something important was hidden there.

"Enough... this is enough, with this we will demonstrate before the senate their crimes, tomorrow it will happen and all this chaos will end." Obi-wan said with great relief and calmness, but Anakin felt distasteful at such an idea, he knew the consequences for Palpatine.

But Obi-wan's expression was full of annoyance towards Anakin. "How can you say this? He is responsible for all this, with this evidence and the testimonies of his closest advisors that we interrogated. This ends Anakin."

But Anakin denied with fear and annoyance, he didn't want any of this. Anakin insisted that Palpatine had changed and was now helping him.

But Obi-wan knew that was not possible "Don't be fooled Anakin... it's a trick, he will never change, he is a Sith... and they don't change."

During the long discussion that had taken place between the two, Anakin insisted that the process should not happen immediately, he would be killed at any moment.

Anakin felt a deep darkness in his being, but it came out immediately before holding back.

Anakin believed that Palpatine had changed, he had shown it to him... it was an injustice that he was executed like this. And worse yet, Palpatine was the only one who knew how to save Padme.

I have to save him, I won't let Padme die or you either. Anakin thought firmly.

Anakin came to the conclusion that he had to save Palpatine. Take him out of the capital to take him to a place where he would be hidden from everyone.

"R2D2 prepare a ship, I will leave before dawn"

Two hours before dawn, Anakin's plan to rescue Palpatine was ready and it was time to save him.

He went directly to where they had him, and saw teachers Plo Koon and Shaak Ti take the unconscious Chancellor away.

"What's wrong? Where are they taking the Chancellor?" Anakin asked as he saw Palpatine asleep.

"To the Senate, we had to sedate him so that it wouldn't be a problem. The evidence will be shown to everyone, young Skywalker," said Shaak Ti as they took the Chancellor through the corridors.

"Master Shaak Ti, I can take the Chancellor to the Senate" Anakin said with the intention of taking Palpatine.

"Our orders were clear, we must take the Chancellor to the Senate. And young Skywalker cannot be here" declared Plo Koon.

This caused further anger in Anakin, but he simply can't tolerate anything anymore, and ignites his lightsaber."We won't let you take him, our future depends on this Anakin... think of the lives we will save." Shaak Ti pleaded.

Starting a small lightsaber fight, Anakin knocks the masters unconscious. Taking Palpatine in his arms, he walked through some corridors to the takeoff area. Where R2D2 told him that the ship was ready and the coordinates he indicated.

Anakin boarded and left immediately, without anyone realizing what had happened.

Anakin as he flew and prepared to make the jump to hyperspace. I won't let them do anything bad to you Chancellor... I trust you.

"What's wrong Anakin? The last thing I remember was being injected with a sedative, and then I lost consciousness."

"Chancellor. We have managed to open your vault, there we found several documents and holographic recordings of you with the separatists... They were enough evidence for the senate to declare treason and they will have you executed today"

"You sacrificed yourself just for me," Palpatine stated with dark inner satisfaction, Anakin freed him from his confinement when the boy became convinced of his redemption.

Anakin went on autopilot, approaching his mentor's father figure and hugging him tightly.

Palpatine couldn't help but hug him too, because of the light that grew inside him... he could feel some affection towards the Jedi who hugged him.

"Thank you Anakin…really."

"We'll fix this together, Chancellor… I promise," Anakin said, clinging to Palpatine's arms.

Palpatine's blue eyes turn a yellow color, which Anakin couldn't notice because he was hugging him.

"You're weak," Sidious hisses, coldness in his words.

"What…what did you say?" Anakin asked, stunned as he felt the sudden darkness arising in Palpatine's presence.

Sidious, using the dark side of the force, without major problem knocks Anakin unconscious.

Sidious approaches the young Jedi unconscious on the ground, looking at him with those yellow eyes full of darkness and evil. "I've waited too long, Anakin... I'll give you one last chance. When it's all over, you'll have to choose which side to be on."

Sidious takes control of the ship, and departs back to Coruscant. The moment I have been waiting for has arrived.

Tomorrow (ninth day after collapse)

As the ship lands on the Senate landing pad. Palpatine was greeted by a troop of clone troopers. Ordering General Skywalker to be taken off the ship and taken to his office as soon as possible.

"Chancellor, where were you? What is happening here? The Senate is in chaos" mentioned one of the clone soldiers who questioned him.

"I will reveal that in a few moments, keep an eye on the Jedi temple and every general outside Coruscant... no one is to leave the temple."

"Yes sir, right away" the clone ordered his companions to guard the Jedi temple and every Jedi general in the galaxy.

Palpatine enters the Senate dressed in the ancient robes of the Sith Lord Order. With the intention of overthrowing the republic and crowning himself emperor of the entire galaxy. Fulfilling the vengeance of his order, eradicate the Jedi order from the face of the galaxy forever.

Walking down the long hallway, until entering the Senate where thousands of senators were waiting for him.

There were screams of great emotion, as if of confusion over what had happened.

"Chancellor...Chancellor, tell us what is all this? Where have you been?" Kamino Senator Halle Burtoni asked.

"Dear members of the Senate, I address you with great sadness in my heart. The Jedi Order attempted an attempt on my life, blaming the Separatists for a kidnapping against me."

The senators were stunned. The Jedi are traitors attacking the Chancellor himself, an example of galactic democracy.

Padme, faced with the horror she felt, Obi-wan came to her side in a hidden way so as not to attract attention.

"What's wrong Padme?"

"Everything Obi-wan... everything has been discovered... and... where is Anakin? I haven't seen him anywhere, what happened Obi-wan?"

But Obi-wan made a face of complete disappointment and annoyance at what had happened. "Anakin... was the one who helped the Chancellor escape. He attacked the Jedi masters who were going to bring Palpatine to the senate, to show the evidence of his crimes before everyone."

Padme and Obi-wan are left speechless at this "it can't be..." Padme said with total shock just as Obi-wan couldn't believe it.

In Palpatine's office. Anakin woke up suddenly without knowing what had happened. He stopped and looked everywhere without knowing where he was, surrounded by clone soldiers, but he was able to recognize that he was in Chancellor Palpatine's office "how did we get here?" Anakin asked fearing the worst.

"We are in Chancellor Palpatine's office… General Skywalker."

"Where is Chancellor Palpatine?""In the Senate, right now you are reporting the betrayal of the Jedi and since you saved him... you are a hero General Skywalker."

But Anakin did not understand and saw that this entire meeting was being transmitted on the holonet throughout the galaxy.

Padme felt something in her, a complete sense of disappointment… as she watched in horror at what Palpatine said.

"And to guarantee stability and maintain a safer society, the republic is going to reorganize itself into the most powerful galactic empire, and thus we will have a safer society" Palpatine declared to the thousands of senators present.

Anakin looked at him again with total shock and surprise, he wanted to speak but it was impossible amidst the cheers of all the senators.

And so democracy dies... with loud applause Padme exclaimed to herself.

We have to do something, this can't stay like this... Obi-wan mentioned, worried about the situation, the existence of the Jedi Order was hanging by a thread.

The cheers had ceased and Palpatine made his final announcement, supported by thousands of senators suggesting the dissolution of the Jedi Order.

By the largest number of affirmative votes, and Palpatine's word. He ordered the separation of the Jedi Order from the new established regime. The Jedi were now traitors and would be treated as such.

Padme, with greater fear, simply left the meeting, she couldn't take it anymore...

Obi-wan for his part went directly to the Jedi temple, before it was too late.

As the meeting ended and Anakin went to Palpatine's side. "Anakin it's time we talk once and for all, in my office."

In Chancellor Palpatine's office, Anakin felt through the dyad that Palpatine's supposed redemption. It was only a trick for him to free him from his confinement in the Jedi temple.

Everything changed from one moment to the next, Anakin knew that there was no turning back, he knew that what he had done was considered treason and he would be expelled from the Jedi Order.

They looked face to face, without either saying anything, but Palpatine knew that it was time to claim the child as his own. "Well, Anakin... are you on my side or not? I have no other choice."

Anakin still did not understand what had happened, a part of the darkness that was growing inside him whispered to him that he would take Palpatine's hand but his luminous presence advised him that he must do the right thing.

"Anakin, stop being a pawn of the Jedi council... they have never cared about you in the slightest. They would take you away from your wife and child... I wouldn't do it in any way. They not only betrayed me how they betrayed you... "I have changed Anakin and you know it, I have shown you."

Anakin no longer knew if it was true or if he was just manipulating him, for Palpatine and Sidious they were still two different people even though he found out that the two were the same person... but when he was about to make his decision, Padmé arrives. to stop Anakin.

Padme arrives just in time to stop the decision his wife was about to make. And that means another obstacle in Palpatine's plans... and Anakin doesn't know whether to believe Palpatine, but he wouldn't have a choice after what he did.
