In a Hyrule ruled by Vaati the Wind Mage, Zelda (a simple farmgirl living in Ordon) has her world suddenly turned upside down when she learns that she is the destined ruler of the land. It turns even crazier when Vaati sends Lord Ghirahim and a legion of monsters to hunt her down. Without Link around to save her, Zelda has to become a hero herself and save Hyrule from Vaati's rule.

The disaster of the Calamity has been averted but Second Princess Zelda and her twin sister, Crown Princess Hilda, have a complicated relationship as a result. To make matters worse, King Rhoam decides someone must marry Link to protect Hyrule's future. A story of self-acceptance, relying on loved ones, and the darkness the heart is capable of succumbing to unfolds in this new era.
