They say one event in your life can change your life forever. I never believed in such crap. Why? Because Fate isn't decided by some mystical thing. Fate is just that, fate. People like to believe that stuff happens for a reason and it could be because of anything.

I didn't have a reason for believing in it until I came across him. At the party that my friend threw. The party that got out of control. The same party where he nearly got raped and nobody was gonna know until I walked in.

"So which door is it again for the bathroom..?" I grumbled as I marched up the stairs. Every door was shut so not much of a choice I had. I ruffled the back of my teal blue locks as I walked down the left of the hall my gaze going from door to door. 'Now which one did Sho say was the bathroom..?' I thought as I let out a sigh.

Of course I didn't listen… you'd think I would remember such a detail when needing to use a goddamn toilet. Oh well. I start with the door at the farthest end of the hallway and work my way back. I knock twice before trying the door knob, "Knock knock. Pardon me looking for the bathroom…" I look inside and wish I hadn't. I saw two people going at it hard as i immediately shut the damn door hard. It didnt disturb them in the slightest.

I sighed shrugging just a little as I went to the next door. I knocked twice before opening the door. "Excuse me." Opening the door I was met with a heavy glare from someone on the bed on top of a much lanky thin built guy. I say guy because he wasn't a boy. He didn't look much younger than me but he had a look in his eyes. One of pure prettified fear. The much average built dude with his bare ass to me, his steel glare directed at me spoke up. "Hey we're doing something in here!"

It took only one sweeping glance of my eyes to see that the male under him was pinned, his arms being gripped roughly and his pants undone with his black boxers showing. My gaze went to the male being roughed up. His soft brown eyes were fearful and his short two toned brown hair a mess. His arms were pinned above his head and it looked like he was gagged with something.

With the way the males soft brown eyes shined in the dim lighting of the light from the hallway I could tell he was close to shedding tears. I narrowed my eyes just a little. But the gray haired steel eyed male wasn't gonna let up. "GET OUT OF HERE, ASSHOLE!" Being in the presence of this naked male didnt phase me nor make me flinch as if he was gonna get up any second and punch me for catching him in the act. I stood my ground with ease, positioning myself between the doorway and the the opening I made.

"How about you get away from my lover before I drop kick your ass right now…?" I threw on the most menacing voice I could conjure as well as a tight lip leer making the hard steel eyes that had been glaring at me for over the course of a couple minutes crumble into an ashen expression his face almost sheet white as he jumps away from the bed, the hands pinning the brunette gone from his body.

The gray haired male took his clothing and screamed with fright. "I-i'm so sorry!" Before retreating to the door behind me. The cold evil glare never leaving my face as he dashs to another part of the upper floor. I let out a sigh as I relax my face and return my gaze to the brunette who had wasted no time in getting the gag out of his mouth and fixing his pants.

There was a streak of red across his face as he looked away from me but eventually raised his head to look at me. "T-thank you… I thought nobody could hear what was going on…" I raised my eye brow for a second before realizing he thought I had saved him intentionally.

"I was just on my way to the toilet but I got mixed up." The brunette who had tears in his eyes a couple minutes ago started to laugh at what I said. I could tell he was trying to cope the best he could and he thought getting out of talking about what happened to him would help.

"The bathroom was at the right end not the left end.." he rubbed the back of his neck as he sat up on the bed reaching for the shirt that got thrown around the room and a lone red jacket left bare on the floor.

I bend down and picked up the jacket and held it out to him. "No need to hide how your feeling. I could see the fear in your eyes." My eyes looked him over again. He was shaking a little as he reached his hand out for his jacket. He stayed quiet his eyes now hidden behind his long bangs.

"Did you know that man?" I crossed my arms across my chest as he stood up on shaky legs to put his jacket on. "No… he was my friends sponsor thst's all I knew… He saw me duel before and asked to see me in private to talk about a possible pro duelist opportunity but then… He shoved me on the bed and got naked…" I could see tear streaks as they fell down his face.

I sighed just a little but rested a hand on his shoulder. "Let's get you out of here okay..?" I gave his shoulder a squeeze as I took him by his still shaking hand and walked him out of the bedroom. We walked in silence as we returned to the rowdy party going down the stairs my grip on his hand firn but gentle as I lead him towards the front door but just before we got there Ryo intervened.

"Where you guys heading? The party just begun." Yeah right. The party had been going on a full hour now most of the guests were either drunk or making out. That's not even the fact I had been there since 2 hours ago having to listen to the nonsense his sponsors were spewing but not listening or being observant.

"Forget it Ryo… I'm taking him home. And if you try to stop me I will drop you on your ass…" I could tell I surprised the brunette behind me because of the sharp inhale he took. Ryo did a double take at the male behind me as sudden concern flashed in his eyes.

"Teach your sponsor some manners before I do it myself…" I muttered to him in a hushed tone seeing if he would catch my drift. With now harden blue grey eyes he nodded before brushing past us leaving the door available for us to walk out.

I shoved the door open with ease as I lead the brunette down the drive way and to the street where my car layed parked from earlier. A deep maroon van with tinted windows to keep both the heat out and people from peeking inside. I unlocked the van and opened the passenger door. "Cmon get in." He gave me one look before looking at my van suspiciously.

"Oh cmon!" I groaned too loudly. I could see it looked very bad but it was the only thing I had to drive. "I get it looks bad but I need to give you a ride home. Unless you have a car?" I raised a brow at him. He gave me a sideline glance before answering. "I came with friends…"

"And yet none of those friends were looking for you when you were in trouble?" This made him look down at his feet I could just feel the discomfort and disappointment wafting off of him. I decide to change my approach with him. He clearly doesn't have any good friends in his life if nobody was worried about him being absent from the party for so long with a stranger. Any other situation and it might've ended up with him dead. But let's try not to go that route right now.

"I'll take you anywhere you want to go, okay?" The same soft brown eyes look up to meet mine as he noticed I held my hand out to him. Nibbling on his lip he took my hand and I helped him inside my slightly raised van. Shutting the door behind him I quickly ran to the other side of the van and hopped in. I got the van started the engine choking to life as I pulled away from the side of the road and drove away.

The brunette fidgeted in his seat. "I never gave you my name…"

"And I never gave you mine. Anything else you wanna clarify?" I look at him for a brief sec before returning my gaze to the road. "Your very standoffish." I raised a brow at his statement. "Is that an observation or are you just guessing my personality now?" He shook his head his hands gripping his knees as he looked out the window.

"Nah.. you seem like your just bottling your emotions." I didn't answer him as I drove us to a diner a few blocks away in a less dense area. I pulled into the parking spot and killed the engine. "What's this..?" He asked confused by the location. "It's a diner. Figured you might want some food in your stomach to calm your nerves before heading home to face your parents or lover." I got out of the van and without a second thought came to his side and helped him from the van.

The brunette blushed before muttering quietly. "What?" I looked at him questioningly as he looked up at me. "I don't have a lover…" he spoke up this time a little too loudly a blush a blaze across his face.

"I'm not judging let's just get inside and order something. Don't worry I'll pay." I guided him inside the diner which looked like something out of the 70s with a niche design and color scene to it. Lots of pastal colors here and there. Even the waitress at the door wore a poodle skirt and a bright button down blouse.

She showed us to a booth and left us with our menus. I watched him open the menu up and gaze over it as my phone started to ring. I look down at it and picked it up. "What do you want? It's my day off you bitch." I inwardly groaned as a deep husky voice answered.

"Boss wants your ass here." I rolled my eyes and took my glare to the window. "Listen you maybe the boss's lap dog but don't go getting your nose up my ass. Tell him I'll be in tomorrow morning like always. And if you call me again the next time I see you i'm gonna castrate you like a real dog you hear me." I didn't wait for his reply as I hung the phone up. The brunette looked at me with a slight subtle confusion.

"Ignore that. Stupid work buddy." I pocketed my phone and goes back to looking at the menu. He ruffled his brown hair looking back down at the menu. "This is a nice place. Ever take anyone on a date here?" I open my menu and look through it. I was just gonna get my usual anyway. A breakfast sandwich that could be served even as late in the day as it was right now.

"My job makes dating kinda tricky. Most people when they find out my job they tend to run away." I shrugged my shoulders casually.

"Sounds like a problem." He said as the waitress came to take our drink orders and our food orders. She soon came back with two cokes before returning to waiting other tables.

I chuckled at his wording. "And why's that?" He took a sip of his drink before answering. "If every person ran away after you told them your job, you would have a bad rap on the street. And so far it seems like the opposite."

I shook my head my blue locks flying every which way. "They don't know who I work for. They would be scared if they knew. Then again the common man won't ever know." I cracked my knuckles casually as my thoughts went elsewhere. It's a true fact of my job that it doesn't involve common folk nor the more decent people on the street. If anything they're more safe from my job than the ones that have gold lining their pockets.

"If anything your probably one of the lucky ones and will avoid my job all together." I shrugged going back to our conversation.

"You make it sound like your an assassin or something along the lines." I keep my expression neutral but give a slight shrug for a response. "If you wanna put it that way that's your opinion. I'm not gonna clarify it anyhow."

The brunette scrunched his nose almost in a humorous fashion as a smile cracked on his face. "A man of pure mystery. How wonderous. Makes life interesting when you don't know how the day plans to go does it?" I give a hearty smirk at his observation.

"Fate works the same way. And I deny fate every chance I take." He rested his chin on his palms looking me over. "And if fate made us meet again in an unlikely scenario?" He spoke this as the waitress came by and delivered us our meals.

"Then it would be a mistake. In my mind that's how it would be." I look down at my breakfast sandwich and then look to his meal which was just a simple cheese burger with fries.

"Do you believe it was a mistake that you saved me earlier? Or Fate?" His brown eyes lock with my emerald green ones as he took a bite of his fries.

"Not a mistake. Tho if I come across you again on the street then that would be fate, which would be a mistake. I also believe in good deeds. You just so happen to be my first in a good few years." This somehow got a rise out of him a hearty laugh breaking through him as he does his best not to choke on his meal.

"That's both a relieve and a unfortunate thing. Because that means karma wanted you to do something good for once even if it was by accident." I look at him to see he was serious, his eyes held a hint of humor but there was no hint of deception anywhere. He was being genuine about his answer.

I crack a smile. His eyes light up with pure excitement. "I made you smile! Yes! Mr. Cranky pants finally breaks his shell." I don't know why but his reaction made my face turn a slight shade of pink, but only a tinge. "I'm not cranky… I'm just guarded." I grumbled just a little more embarrassed that I got caught with my guard down.

"Life's no fun if your serious all the time. You need to smile, laugh and enjoy life the way you can the best you can." The brunette gave me a dazzling smile in the same moment the sun decided to come out from behind the clouds outside the window and lit his face with a bright glow. I took a double take looking him over.

The sun made his hair turn brighter in color; making his two tone hair color look like he was donning a crown, his brown eyes shining even brighter than they were already due to our conversation. It made me feel something I hadn't in a while….Admiration for someone. I rested my chin on my fist looking at him as my thoughts started racing.

He continued eating not even noticing I was just watching him until he looked up at me his eyes having a hint of curiosity in them. "Something on my face?" He asked puzzled by why I was gazing at him for so long. I blink my eyes in realization. "Uh…No reason." I scratch the back of my neck as I relax my posture and go back to enjoying my meal. The brunette gave a small chuckle before speaking almost quietly as if was whispering, but it was clearly loud enough for me to hear.

"I'm Jaden Yuki…" His brown eyes return to his meal as he waited for me to react to him. I smiled knowingly as I took a bite of my food before giving him an answer. "Name's Jesse…Jesse Andersen… Nice to meet you, Jay." His head perked up and I could see a hint of a blush spread across his face meaning he was both surprised and elated by my words. I chuckled under my breath before returning to my meal.
