UPDATE:

Thanks everyone for the support and opinions over the subject matter. I'm still haven't made my decision, but I took every single one of your comments into consideration.

Rebooting the other story that I mentioned (Heir of the Senju Clan.) was necessary because I was deeply tired of having to write around the perverted version that was created by my previous Beta-writer. This one on the other end isn't as perverted, but there are still some things that I'm deeply unsatisfied with, and that I became more critical as I gained more skill as a writer.

You see, Originally, I wanted the story to start when Nero was already in his second year as the Gray Avenger, leaving clues and mentions of how and why he became a vigilante.

His backstory was going to be different. You see, Nero was supposed to grow up with his "parents" with his mother being the only one who was actually a junkie, but as a struggling addict trying to beat up her addiction. His father was supposed to be the Chief of police, having this perfect image of a lawman but in reality he was a completely crooked asshole that benefited from crime but at the same thing managed creating a completely low crime rate around New York City.

He was supposed to be best friends with Gwen Stacy instead of Frank Castle Junior, due to Gwen's father being an old friend of his father. With poor Nero having a secret crush on Gwen but she never notices.

What would have triggered Nero's first usage of his powers would have been a trauma that he was forced to endure at age 10. Basically, his father would have been exposed as a crooked cop and most of his crimes were revealed to the public by a reporter. Once that happened, he was arrested and condemned to life imprisonment. However, one of the many crimes that he committed was against a low time criminal by the name of Joseph Hogan, who decided to take his revenge on him by attacking his wife and son. So he basically cornered Nero and his mother in front of their apartment and stabbed Nero in the gut with a switchblade and proceeded to beat his mother up to death. The worst part of this in Nero's opinion, was the fact that while he laid on a pool of his blood, he actually saw several people watching from the windows and the street as the man murdered his mother while she was screaming loudly. After that, he would have ended up in the orphanage.

A lot of Nero's philosophy as a vigilante would have come from his crooked cop father's influence.

My Beta told me that it was kind of "Too Dark" and I ended up discarding it as a result. And the one that I ended up going for is pretty bland as a result of it, which is something I come to dislike.

This is just one of the major things that I ended up discarding as a result of it. And that's what is kind of making me want to reboot this story. But after hearing the opinion of many of you, I'm seriously reconsidering.

Q AND A:

Big no to flashbacks. I prefer things chronologically. I like reading Nero grows up and him interacting with other characters like Matt and Jean before they become heroes themselves. Flashbacks wouldn't give me same experience.

The problem with this fic isn't the starting point, but the pacing. All these events from Jean's family drama to encountering the Hulk happened yet Nero is still the same age. There ought to be some timeskips aging Nero up a bit between each events.

I agree on that, I also prefer things chronologically as well. So far, only his relationship with Jean came out the way I wanted to be honest, but I am with you on that.

Nero is 12 in the beginning, but he's 13 currently.

Hello Author,

So I just found your story and I have to say I really like what you have so far, which makes me hope that you don't do a reboot and continue with what you have going so far. I mean a compromise you could do is finish up this current arc that you have going on with Jean and Nero going to Xavier's getting introduced to Scott and any other of the X-Men already there, and then possible end the arc with Nero and Jean getting ready for their first danger room session.

Then do a time skip to a few years where maybe Nero is a teenager in high school and has already has some experience and training with his powers and abilities and starts doing missions with the X-Men kind of like the X-Men: Evolution series that way we can see Nero's established relationships with the other members, especially the women and it can allow you start the action you've been wanting to get to.

This is just my suggestion because as I said I really like what you have done with the story so far and I think it would be a shame to see you get rid of it to do a reboot and this way seems like a good way for everyone to get what they want. Either way this is your story and as a fan I'll respect which ever route you choose to go, I hope my comment was helpful and I look forward to see what you'll do next.

Thank you very much.

That was kind of my plan, his time with the X-Men is mostly going to be spent on him figuring out his powers and his building his relationships with the other members while acting as the second-in-command of the X-men. Most of Nero's time in the X-MEN will be inspired by X-Men Evolution. (My second favorite Marvel show right behind Spectacular Spider-Man.)

You mentioned that your original idea was to have this be an only x-men focused story. Why not try that out for a bit and see how it goes? The Marvel universe is massive and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to write about from scratch.

That's basically what this will be if I continue.

Eu não me importo. Você pode reiniciar se quiser. Você ja provou que o é um ótimo Autor de Fanfics.

Valeu mesmo pela sua opinião meu amigo.

Honestly I was furious about this... I was like OH FOR F SAKE ANOTHER GOOD STORY DOWN TO THE REBOOT WOOD CHIPPER!

Now I'm more stable to give my humble opinion. And obviously you shouldn't reboot it. Why? Well again in my humble opinion and is a well defined trope that a good hero NEEDS a good origin story. Spider-Man didn't start Peter Parker being already Spider-Man beating criminals and remembering how he started. No we see him as a nerd loser getting bitted by the radioactive spider, being irresponsible with his power costing his uncle life. Same with Captain America he's wasn't a steroid beefcake at the start he was a sickly twig, Ironman an alcoholic playboy, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman. All heroes needs a origin story. That's what makes the readers and watchers understand why the hero is who they are and the why of being a hero.

Again for the third time my opinion. Finish this arc and if you want to start heroing do a time skip on the next one.

And thank you for taking our voice in consideration.

Buddy, that's literally why I want to reboot, his origin story is kind of messed with since my original idea for it got scratched due to my Beta Readers mandling.

The time skip is practically a foregone conclusion if I actually continue with it.

Always, I make this story for you guys.

That's great to hear.

Sorry mis clicked wanted to add on to that I hope when it comes to Nero's money and living situation one he's loaded thanks to all the stuff he's stolen from criminals over the years like the Osborn fortune haha and all the valuables he would have stolen on heists with Felicia

Oh as for Oscorp itself if Nero got his hands on it kept the goblin related stuff for himself and sold the company off to Tony and Emma with Emma of course getting the better deals and majority haha

For the living situation in New York giant penthouse apartment or mansion after all some of his lovers have expense tastes and even the girls that don't would enjoy the luxury when they stop by

Nah, sadly no.

Fair enough on considering a reboot to this

Starting off with Nero as a established hero and the Grey Avenger would be a good call I think after all like I said in the past the Marvel universe is a big one and there is just so many people Nero would have to meet and so on and so fourth

At least this way with him starting off as a hero and all that you can establish that he's meet everyone he's a known hero he's saved New York dozens of times he's traveled around the world he's already saved the world it's self a few times maybe even the universe once and he's had runs and beaten up plenty of villains and maybe the occasional hero who was asking for it haha but definitely the world and you know he would have had his run with the X men before he had to leave and becoming a Avenger and whole comic arcs and storylines would have occurred etc

Did enjoy the preview but if I could offer up some tweaks to it considering this is established hero and Avenger card carrying member Nero couldn't help but feel his load out was a tad basic especially what a loot goblin or rather collector he is haha like the web shooter instead of the web coming from that have it be a organic black web he fired courtesy of him having Venom

In place of the assault rifle he pulled out he had the Phoenix Gun or he cut them all down with the Ebony Blade and no taking a shotgun blast to the chest that knocks him down he either he dodges it thanks to Spider Sense or it barely registers due to just how powerful his genes would make his body if the shot does hit him he doesn't get knocked down he just tanks it

Again even if you took away his equipment and goodies Nero should be a Omega level being this is a older hero Nero a lot of his powers should have stabilised and all the other bonuses from his DNA would have kicked in to you know like the divine genes he would have got but yeah all that DNA put together adds up to even without various powers Nero is still a monster of a being so yeah he could kill all those guys with his bare hands

Benefit of Nero being older to in regards to his relationships is of course a ton of them can have progressed ie his harem is already on the go haha numerous woman can be counted amongst his lovers and of course he's sleeping with all of them haha

Been meaning to say to for some dumb fun while Gwen was set up as the same age as Nero since most imagine Gwen as a teen and Nero by now is mid twenties in this right? Anyway with Gwen while she was the same age as Nero can some mystic shenanigans occurred that reverted her age back to 18 or 19 and for what it's worth I think Nero's reaction would aside from amusement be one of my hot girlfriends is a hot teen again… I approve haha but yeah it's just something that happened

Oh yeah and hope Nero has best AI friend Ultron with him at the start to haha

Unfortunately, no, he would actually be in his third year as the Gray Avenger and wouldn't have gotten his equipment yet, that's why the simplistic gear.

I like this way better. It would've taken to long to get to the main story in your old version

Not exactly, a time skip where Nero is going on a mission with the X-men would happen soon. It's just that I'm a little annoyed with how the story started due to the meddling.

If I do go through with the reboot, this is what the first chapter will look like:

{

"Wake up!"

Hearing someone yelling his name, forced the individual that was sleeping peacefully to open his eyes right away. "Mmm..." Letting out a small grunt once he did.

He was laying on top of a considerably cheap looking bed, inside of a room that was illuminated by stained glass windows. Sitting up on the bed, he moved his face to the right, where he saw a woman standing beside his bed.

It was a middle-aged woman with dark brown eyes and wrinkles on her face, wearing a black religious habit that covered her body completely. "What is this?" She asked him while holding a bottle of Vodka.

The one sitting on the bed simply gave her an annoyed look. "You woke me up for what exactly?" He asked her sarcastically. "I'm pretty sure that the fact that I like alcohol is common knowledge."

"We had a deal, no alcohol or drugs, those were my conditions to let you stay here." The nun reminded him.

"You said, no alcohol or drugs inside of the church." He reminded her of it. "That wasn't inside of the church was it?" He pointed at the bottle in her hand when he asked that. Then he realized that it was empty. "And I remember being half-full the last time I saw it." Because he wanted to make himself a White Russian later. "Sister Maggie, where did you find it?"

The woman was called Margaret Murdock, or Sister Maggie as he liked to call her. "In the confessional." She answered his question.

"Well, I didn't put it there and whoever put it owns me a bottle of Vodka." That was his only response to what he just heard. "Now, excuse me." He laid back on the bed and covered himself with the blanket in order to try to go back to sleep.

However.

"Not so fast." She pulled the covers off of him right away, revealing that he was wearing nothing but USA flag boxer shorts. "Matthew is waiting for you upstairs."

Only a loud grunt escaped his lips in response to that. The one on the bed sat up once again before asking. "Why?" He didn't like that at all.

"I have absolutely no idea, but since it involves you, it can't be good." She was absolutely right about that.

He gave her a sarcastic smile. "What can I say?" He put his hands in the air. "Nero Caligula Carnby is a certified doom magnet." His name was Nero Caligula Carnby, and he partially believed the whole doom magnet thing.

"Then maybe Mr. Doom Magnet should hurry up." Sister Maggie bluntly told him as she adjusted his messy hair. "It's probably about your parole." Something that he had no desire to think about.

"Is it actually parole when you don't actually do time?" Nero asked her as he stood up from the bed and moved towards the sink, which was a few steps away from his bed.

"You should ask him that, since he's the one with a law degree." Sister Maggie responded to him as she approached the sink as well.

Nero then washed his face and took a good look at the mirror. He was a very handsome teenage boy, having above average height, broad shoulders and a chiseled body that resembled a perfectly sculpted statue. His chiseled features also extended to his face, having a strong jawline, hunter eyes and perfectly straight nose. He had very fair skin, strange looking vivid gray eyes that resembled two moons and his hair was medium-length and had a snow white color. Anyone who seems would think that his hair is dyed, but that's actually his natural hair color. "Maybe I will..." Then he grabbed some grapefruit mouthwash and gargled a bit.

"Good." Sister Maggie then made her way to the exit. "Don't bring any alcohol or drugs here." She reminded him.

He spit the mouthwash. "Alright, alright..." Nero will keep his end of the deal out of respect for her. Despite having an urge to have either a drink or a smoke right now.

After scratching himself for a bit, he turned around and made his way back to the bed, mostly because his clothes were all over the floor. His outfit was composed of a pair black and white Air Jordan 1 retro high dior, baggy hip-hop style black jeans with three interconnecting belts in a Criss Cross belts style, one was a black military belt, the other was a heavy metal style bullet belt and the last one was a leather belt with a Lion head buckle, there were also golden belt chains on the left side of his pants. On his top, he was wearing a white tank-top as an undershirt, with a white pullover hoodie over it and last but not least, a black A-2 bomber jacket that he was wearing over the hoodie. The jacket had an American flag patch on the left arm and a few badges of symbols on the right like, Peace, Chaos, Anarchy, Ying Yang, on the right side of the chest right below a name tag with N.C. Carnby on it and right above it, there was a World War II medal of honor. In his hands there was a pair of fingerless combat gloves. He also had some jewelry on him, a diamond earring in his left ear, a silver cross necklace and a nice looking golden watch on his left wrist. There was also a pair of clip-on earphones hanging on his neck.

Once his outfit was on, he took a good look at his hands. I gotta paint my nails again. His nails were paintedblack and there were little drawings in the color white on each of his fingernails. His index finger had an anarchy symbol. His middle finger had a Yin Yang symbol. His ring finger had an white flame. His little finger had a cross. His thumb had a smiley face.

Before he left to meet up with his lawyer, Nero turned around and took a final look at the mirror. Moving closer and grabbing a brush that was beside the sink which he used to brush down his hair, making his bangs partially cover his eyes. He smiled at his reflection and turned around.

Placing the hood of his hoodie on his head as he took slow steps as he passed through the doorway, and a few angel statues before he reached the stairwell. Allowing him to leave the basement that he was staying in and reach the nave of Clinton Church. Thankfully, the place was empty so he could simply make his way towards the exit with no problem.

Reaching the church door, Nero took a deep breath and prepared himself to meet with his old friend. After exhaling the air, he opened the church door and right in front of it, there was someone standing there.
