Chapter 4: Back Alley Brawl
While Ken was rummaging through some file and thinking of what to do next, Tommy enters the office.
"Ah! well, I hope you are having a good time." Then he stood up and raises his arms up, filled with anxiety. "Because I'm going out of my mind with worry here." he then asks Tommy, "What did you find out?"
Tommy straightforwardly replied, "That there are more criminals in this town than in prison. We need a lead from the streets…"
Ken sat down again and closes his eyes to think and dig through her mind again like last time, "Ok. Let me think, let me think…." And once again, it came to him, "Ah! I've got it! Ok, there's this limey, some music industry slimeball, goes by the name of Kent Paul. Anyway he's got his nose so far up in most of Vice City's ass that if anybody knows the whereabouts of 20 keys worth of coke, it's this guy all right? He's always at the Malibu."
Tommy, now has a plan to go where next, simply says, "I'll go pay him a visit."
Silent for a few seconds, replies back while leaning back on his chair. "Take it easy now."
Tommy then leaves Ken's office and heads to the Malibu Club. Once inside, he sees Kent Paul at the bar talking to a woman.
Kent, gesturing at the woman with smooth moves, "Where'd you pop up from? I've been looking for a bird like you for ages, mate."
It then pans to Tommy approaching a security guard. "I'm looking for some English guy Kent Paul." He asks. Then the guard points towards Kent at the bar.
"Kent Paul, mate. Yeah I'm the guvnor' 'round here." Seemingly like your average cocky English guy who swoons on ladies for a one night stand, but never really gets on a stable relationship. "I sort things out. You know what I mean? I'll treat you. Whatever you want, I'll get you girl. Don't you worry about a thing mate."
Tommy then approaches Ken and the woman, directly stating to her, "Get lost honey."
The woman walks off, either afraid of Tommy or just straight up lost interest in Kent altogether. Then Kent, eager to not lose her attention, calls after her.
"Oi oi oi oi oi!"
Tommy then looks at Kent, a bit irritated at him, then asks, "Kent Paul? I'm a friend of Rosenberg's…"
"Rosenberg…Rosenberg…" trying to recall who the person is, so that he can get back to his usual routine, then remembers who he is. "Oh that bonkers ambulance chaser! That man could defend an innocent man all the way to death row." Stating they've met some time ago, and acknowledges him as a respectable man. Kent then asks the Barman, "Give us another drink, bruv."
Tommy, now really annoyed by his attitude, raises his fist to Kent's face.
"Listen to me. I'm missing twenty keys and a lot of cash…"
Kent raises his hand up so as to avoid any trouble, "Drugs mate? It's a mug's game."
Now he's had enough of Kent's rambling and finally shoves Kent to the floor.
Tommy threateningly asks, "What do you know about it?"
Kent, now on the floor, just answers him out of fear that he might get taken out by this fellow, who looks like was already about to kill someone. "Oi oi! What I was coming to was, there's some chef-cum-trumpetshifter who deals out of a kitchen on Ocean Drive. He's been looking real pleased with himself lately. You could go and check him out..?!"
Now pleased he has an answer, caImly spoke, "I will…and I'll see you around."
Tommy then walks off the club and Kent gets back to his feet.
Kent seemed a bit pissed at him, then rants "Yeah, that's right! Go on…walk away, you mug. I'll knock your spark out!" He sits down to cool off and asks the Barman again "Give me a drink…and where's that slut!"
Tommy drives to the alley behind the hotel on Ocean Drive. He approaches the chef, who is talking to someone on his cell phone.
The chef, curious a random man, just stared at him, acts tough and asks "Hey, whatchoo looking at?"
"You better start talking…" says while cracking his knuckles and stares at the man with a dark face.
"Hey, make me, you prick!"
Tommy and the chef begin fighting. Tommy beats the chef to death and takes his cell phone. Tommy stands over the chef's body, catching his breath. A man in a white suit walks into the alley.
"Oh, way to go, tough guy. Beat him to a pulp. That should make him real chatty." Sounding a bit disappointed saying that to Tommy.
"You want some too?" asked him, still panting.
"Hey, chill. I want what you want brother." Wanting to sound convincing to him.
Tommy, raised his eyebrow, seemingly interested, then asks, "Oh yeah? And what's that?"
"Your green…and my dead brother's white lady. Unfortunately, you just silenced our lead."
"Accidents happen. Get lost." Brushing him off as another annoyance who can't help him find the money.
The man, determined to convince Tommy then pleads, "Hey, hey, whoa. No need to go all 'Lone Ranger' on my ass. The way I see it…we two hombres in a strange town. We need each other's back."
"My back's just fine brother."
Then, out of nowhere, Three chefs appear and stand behind Tommy. The man hands Tommy a pistol.
"You sure about that? Here, take this…This way!"
The man runs out of the alley and Tommy follows him. Tommy and he and gets in the man's Infernus.
While Tommy was driving away, the man spoke to him, "One thing you gotta realize about this town. You gotta pack some heat.
…The local gun shop's only a couple of blocks away."
[They both drive to Ammu-Nation and purchases a weapon, before driving back to Ocean View Hotel. At the hotel, Tommy exits the car and the man gets in the driver's seat.
"I'm going to see what I can dig up. I'll be watching you Tommy."
He then drives off. Tommy was unsure to feel of this new stranger who helped him, should he feel relieved? Or Worried? Guess he'll never know.
