The two walked over to the blond, Kaeya waved as he walked. Diluc was slightly relieved that he recognized the other. The blond seemed a little surprised to see the two brothers but gave a small smile and waved in greeting.
"I'm a little surprised to see you two," Albedo said. Diluc looked at Albedo "I figured it'd be good to get out of the house" he said "Speaking of" he then said "You aren't usually in the city either" He said. Although Diluc didn't talk to Albedo much, he knew that he was typically in Dragonspine
Kaeya was quiet for the time being as he watched the two talk. He had nothing to add to the current conversation. That is, until Albedo looked at him and began to speak "How are you, Kaeya?" He asked. Kaeya seemed a bit surprised that Albedo suddenly started talking to him "I'm.." he paused for a moment. As if searching for the right word "I'm alright" he said.
Albedo seemed to accept the answer he was given with a nod "That's good to hear" he said. Diluc didn't see any reason to be worried about the answer, which seemed to be a good thing, especially since Kaeya still seemed to remember who Albedo was.
Albedo looked back at Diluc "You are right, I'm not usually in the city. But I needed to run a few errands" he explained. The red head nodded "I see," he said. "Have there been any changes to Kaeya's memory?" He asked. Diluc was about to shake his head but stopped himself. "It's worsened a little bit," Diluc said.
Albedo looked somewhat surprised, he had been expecting Diluc to say that there's been improvement, not the exact opposite. Albedo paused, thinking a bit "I may have an idea that could help" he said, but looked at Kaeya "If that's okay with you" he said.
Kaeya did wish to get his memory back, he didn't like having so many things that he just can't remember. And Diluc seemed so worried about him. So, the bluenette nodded, agreeing to the idea that Albedo seemed to have. Though he didn't know what to expect from what Albedo wanted to do in an attempt to help.
Albedo nodded in response and began to lead the two somewhere. Albedo seemed to know exactly where he was going, while the other two of course didn't know. The three of them soon got to their destination.
Albedo had led them to a Ley Line Outcrop. It was outside of the city, of course, so they didn't have to worry too much about passing people. "This is what I need your assistance with," the blond explained. "I figured maybe something like fighting enemies could help with Kaeya's memory," he explained. Diluc gave a nod, a bit glad that it most likely wasn't something that was a Knight's of Favonious thing. Diluc looked at his brother "Do you think you can do this?" he asked.
Sure, Kaeya had been trained with a sword since he was a kid, but he was inexperienced with his vision, something that Diluc himself nearly forgot. Nearly. Kaeya looked away from Albedo and looked back at Diluc. He nodded in response "Yeah, I think so," he said. It took a moment for the red head to accept the answer. But, if anything went wrong, Diluc was right there, as was Albedo. Though from what Albedo told them, it seemed that it would mainly just be him and Kaeya fighting the enemies. That didn't bother Diluc though.
There was a little bit more discussion before the enemies began to show up. Diluc summoned his claymore almost immediately while Kaeya took a moment to summon his sword, which was slightly worrying. Diluc tried to brush it off for the time being.
The two began to defeat the enemies, Albedo watched as Kaeya did use his vision a little bit. Though he assumed it was just muscle memory since it didn't appear that the attacks were planned.
Albedo watched the two, but kept his focus on Kaeya, trying to observe any changes to him, but there seemed to be nothing yet. A little disappointing but he didn't expect anything immediately.
It didn't take too long for all the enemies to be defeated. Diluc looked at Kaeya once there were no more enemies, as if checking if the other was okay. He hadn't been able to pay attention to his brother's behavior while they were dealing with the Ley Line Outcrop, but he hoped that Albedo had done that when he couldn't.
Kaeya seemed to be okay though, which Diluc was relieved to see. But he didn't notice any differences with Kaeya compared to before. He walked over to Albedo once he put his claymore away. "I didn't notice any changes" Albedo said once the red head walked over. Diluc frowned a little bit but disguised it when Kaeya walked over as well.
Diluc looked at his brother "Anything?" He asked, to which the bluenette shook his head "Nothing" he said. Diluc gave a small nod "Alright" he said "That's okay" he said, trying his best to reassure the other. The reassurance seemed to work a little bit but Kaeya looked at Albedo and thanked him for, at least, trying to help him regain memories.
The two brothers soon left to head back, since Kaeya seemed a bit tired. As the two walked, they talked a little bit, or at least Diluc did. "I noticed you used your vision" he said. Kaeya nodded a little bit "I.. don't really know why" he said "Muscle memory maybe?" He said, sounding unsure. "That makes sense" Diluc said "But that's a good thing I think" he added
Kaeya looked somewhat relieved when Diluc said that it was a good thing. Even if he couldn't actually remember being able to use his vision, at least he could still use it somewhat just on instinct. Diluc smiled a little bit when he saw Kaeya's expression change to one of slight worry to relief.
Progress was still progress in his eyes. But he wasn't sure if there would be any more progress or if there would be more steps backwards. Despite what he was thinking, he tried not to let it show on his face. He would hate to make Kaeya upset
After some time they arrived home, though Diluc had to leave to head back to the city as he still had to work at Angel's Share that night, which he made Kaeya aware of before he left since he had to change clothes. He had given Kaeya the option to stay home or to come with him, and as expected, Kaeya opted to stay home because he was tired and didn't want to walk all the way back to the city.
Diluc agreed to let Kaeya stay home while he was working a shift at the tavern. He trusted Adelinde to keep an eye on Kaeya while he was gone. He didn't want to keep hovering around Kaeya. He wasn't even sure if Kaeya himself realized that Diluc was even doing so. Nonetheless Diluc said goodbye and left for the city for the second time that day.
Diluc didn't return until later that night, when he walked through the door, Adelinde greeted him and informed him that if he wanted dinner, that she had made enough for him to have some, even after her and Kaeya already ate. Though there seemed to be no sign of the bluenette, Adelinde told him that Kaeya had gone to bed before Diluc had even asked where his brother was. Diluc thanked Adelinde as he went to get the food that had been saved for him. Once he ate, then he went off to bed
