Chapter Thirty-Two
Emergency Meeting
After leaving the School, Jun found the manhole he had climbed out of and made it through the tunnels to get back to Mutopia.
No sooner did he arrive than he went to look for Tyroth.
When he arrived back in Mutopia, he went to the medical room to look for Dahlia, and he saw Kemeko sitting up in bed reading a magazine with Devina sitting next to her.
Both girls jumped when the tiger rushed in, and he looked around for his lover.
"If you're looking for Dahlia, Stripes, she's in there!" Devina pointed to the other room and Jun nodded at her in thanks before going to the other room.
He looked through the window in the door and he saw James was standing at the side of Monalisa's bed whilst the lizard lady was sitting up and the Chimpanzee was checking her blood pressure.
Dahlia was nearby making a few notes when she looked over and saw Jun and her eyes widened.
"Jun?"
Jun signalled if it was okay to enter and Dahlia nodded to which the tiger entered.
James looked up from analysing Monalisa.
"Back so soon?" he asked raising an eyebrow "Must have been pretty dull."
Jun frowned at the Chimpanzee then looked at Dahlia.
"Jun, what's wrong?" Dahlia asked, "You look rather worried…."
"I'll explain later hun." Jun said placing his hands on Dahlia's shoulders "Look, do you know where Tyroth is?"
"No?" Dahlia asked "Why?"
"I need to talk to him." Jun said, "It's urgent!" he said quietly looking over at Monalisa who had turned to see him but was encouraged by James to look at him so he could keep analysing her.
"If I know that Dragon." Dahlia said then paused "Well…he could be anywhere…"
Jun sighed.
"Okay, anyway, I'll just…"
Jun stopped as the door opened, and Raphael appeared.
The red masked turtle had come in to see how his wife was doing since he had been informed by James and Dahlia that she would be ready to leave the medical bay soon.
"Raph?" Jun asked and Raphael looked at the tiger signing 'Hello' to him.
Jun then wondered if Raphael knew where Tyroth was and placed his paw on Raphael's arm.
The turtle turned to him.
"You know where Tyroth is?" Jun asked to which Raphael frowned as he thought, then he started to sign as well as move his lips.
'Last place I saw him, he was in the village centre with Sephie.'
"I see." Jun said, "Okay thanks." He kissed Dahlia and gave her wink saying he would speak to her later and he rushed out of the room.
Dahlia watched him go and she wondered what it was that made him leave the Underground fight so soon, but she pushed those thoughts aside so she could talk to Raphael.
"Raph, we're just giving your mate a few checks, but she's doing fine."
'Can I talk to her?' Raphael signed.
"Of course you can." Dahlia confirmed "Just let James's finish, then when you and Mona have had your time, Devina will give you treatment."
Raphael touched his throat and nodded in agreement before signing thank you then walked over to Monalisa just as James had finished his analysing.
James nodded at Raphael giving him the all-clear then Raphael wasted no time in clasping his mate tightly in his arms.
Monalisa at the same time hugged him back then both kissed passionately.
Dahlia and James watched both with awkward smiles then stepped back to give the lovers some space.
"Not too long alright?" James reminded Raphael and he and his nurse left the room.
Meanwhile, Jun had managed to find Tyroth where Raphael had said he would be, he was sitting on a bench with Sephie near one of the canals.
No sooner did the tiger approach than Tyroth looked up.
"Jun?" he asked.
"Boss!" Jun said, "I need to talk to you about something!"
"What is it?" Tyroth enquired as he studied the tiger's face, seeing how his eyes were wide with worry and his face was pale it had to be serious.
Jun looked around then sat down on the bench next to the dragon and Gecko before looking around to make sure no-one was listening which luckily, they weren't as many Mutopians around them were deep in conversation or elsewhere.
It was then Jun leaned in and told them what was going on.
No sooner did Jun tell Tyroth and Sephie what he saw as well as the photos he had taken on his phone than both went pale and Tyroth almost spat out a few flames.
"No way?" Sephie squeaked.
"Fuck no!" Tyroth glared at Jun.
The tiger looked rather scared at Tyroth's look but he held up his paws in defence.
"I shit you not boss!" he said, "I know what I saw, and I had to let you know! After all, you're always telling me as well as others who go topside to be observant!"
Tyroth glared then he nodded.
"I see, and I am grateful you told me."
He then looked to Sephie.
"We best gather the Knights, but we don't tell the turtles, Master Splinter, April, Casey, Mona, Pandora nor Kemeko about this!"
Sephie nodded in agreement then took out her phone to text the Knights.
"Meeting in the Dojo ASAP!" Tyroth asked her to text then nodded to Jun "Follow me!"
After about ten minutes, the Chicago Knights and Jun were in the Dojo.
The Knights were surprised at the urgent meeting, but they didn't protest.
"What's going on boss?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, what's going on?" Sharky enquired.
"And why's Stripes here?" Kate asked cocking her head at Jun.
Tyroth held up his paws.
"Please, everyone, there is a reason why we're here!" he turned to Jun.
"Jun, will you inform my Knights what you saw tonight?"
Jun nodded then stood up and stood in the middle of the circle where the Knights were gathered.
"I went topside tonight, as many of you know I still enjoy the underground fights that take place amongst the Chicago gangs hoping to win the big bucks to help us get through,"
Tyroth frowned.
He knew how much the tiger did take part in those fights and how he was able to collect cash, even if he felt it was risky, he had trusted the tiger when he did so, as he was able to pass off his appearance as a costume, yet he still felt fears of exposure after the events of Diablo.
"But tonight, I did not take part." Jun said, "I merely observed, and throughout my journey's topside, I have observed criminal activity, but tonight, I saw some individuals that caught my attention, and ones I believe we should be aware of."
"Who? And what?" Kate demanded baring her fangs impatiently.
Jun flinched at Kate's tone, but he went on.
"I saw a woman and a man, both appeared to be Mafia bosses, but I soon found out they are Yakuza!"
"Yazuka!?" everyone exclaimed.
"And surrounding the woman, I saw them to be ninjas!" Jun explained "And I have the evidence to prove it!" he then handed out the photos he had taken on his phone which Tyroth had arranged to be printed and the Knights took them and studied them.
Jack glared as he held up one of the photos.
"No way!" he said.
"Who are these guys?" Heather asked looking at Jun.
"From one of the spectators." Jun said, "I learnt the man is Boss Kodama, a Yakuza boss who passes himself off as a businessman, yet he dabbles in crime to make his money!"
"Guessed as much!" Kate growled.
Jake looked at the photos and he soon saw the ninjas surrounding the woman and he felt sick.
"No! The Foot!" he cried "Why? Why are they here in Chicago?"
Amber instantly placed her hand on Jake's trying to calm him.
"Have they discovered we're here?" Percy asked in fear.
"Hell no!" Sarah cried "Why would they?"
At once everyone began to talk at the same time in worry.
"If the Foot are here…"
"This could mean trouble!"
"What if our friends found out?"
"Guys!" Tyroth barked above everyone's voices, and they looked towards their leader.
"Please! Don't get excited or panicked!"
"You're pretty calm about his boss!" Percy commented 'Given what the Foot did to you and your family those years back!"
Tyroth glared.
He remembered all too well what the Foot did to him, his family and especially to his sister and it still tore at his soul.
"How dare those bastards explore on my turf?!" he thought inside "How fucking dare they?! And I promised my friends they would be safe!"
He clenched his fists, so much so his claws dug into his palms.
Sephie saw his reactions and placed her hands on his paws.
"Hon?" she said "Honey, please…Remember who you are!"
Tyroth opened his eyes as he remembered where he was, and he needed to be a leader for his Knights as well as a protector to Mutopia.
He took a few deep breaths then looked to the Knights and at Jun.
"Everyone, I know you're concerned…"
"Concerned Boss?" Jack asked "We'd be lying if we were not shitting ourselves! The Foot Are in Chicago, and there can be only one reason behind it!"
Tyroth glared at his second in command.
"Jack! We must not jump to conclusions! We do not know for sure why the Foot are here, they might be here for something else!"
"How do you know?" Kate snarled.
"I don't!" Tyroth said "I don't know the answers the questions we have."
"Then what do we do?" Heather asked.
Tyroth frowned then stood up.
"For now, we must do nothing."
"Nothing!?" the Knights cried.
"Nothing!" Tyroth repeated "And Trust me when I say I don't want to draw unwanted attention!"
"I agree!" Sephie said "For now we have no idea why the Foot have arrived in Chicago, and we must not draw attention unless we want our home exposed, and we already are at risk with Diablo still out there!"
"So for now." Tyroth spoke up "When we patrol, we will only observe."
"Observe? Like scouting?" Percy asked.
"For now, yes!" Tyroth said with a glare "As Sephie said, we must not attract any attention if we are to keep our home safe and the most important thing, we must not let the Hamato Clan know of this revelation, not after what they have been through!"
Jake nodded.
"I plan not to speak of this to my sister." He said fervently.
The other knights agreed, and Kate promised herself not to speak of what she heard so as not to upset her beloved Michelangelo.
She had only just brought him back to his happy self and if he knew what was happening topside, she dreaded to think.
"So it is agreed." Tyroth said "When we go topside, we merely observe what is happening, and we do not engage unless we have to!"
"Got it!" the Knights said in unison.
"And most importantly!" Tyroth said "None of what we have spoken of does not to go back to the Hamato Clan!"
"Agreed!" the knights said together.
So Jun has returned with news and Tyroth despite his fear and Anger has said to the Knights they must not attack, only observe.
