Chapter 31 ~ Sora Wakes Up
Sora opened his eyes, happy to be awake, yet the sight of his boathouse bedroom made his situation less joyful, as he remembered WHY he was there…and who he had to fight…
Sora then wiped his face of sweat and tears, all while recalling what he saw…
…the mysterious villain, Toki: Eater of strange flowery eyes, and intentions similar to a horror villain. Sora clenched his fist and said, "...Toki…you WON'T win…not if I can-..."
It was then that Sora noticed his unbuttoned PJ shirt…
…and the girl holding him close!
"...why does every girl I meet in this world WANT TO SLEEP WITH ME?!" Sora asked while carefully trying to get the girl off him…
But he was surprised to see that this girl in PJs was actually Hikage!
Hikage began to wake up and rub her eyes, until the sight of Sora, awake and surprised at her, was in the same bed as her! Hikage then pulled Sora in for a tight hug while uncontrollably releasing tears from her eyes…
Sora patted Hikage on the back, not wanting to ruin her relief of his safety…
But the question still had to be asked, so Sora asked, "H-Hikage…what are you doing in the same bed as me…in pajamas?" Hikage answered, "SHUT UP! WE THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER WAKE UP AGAIN, IDIOT! YOU SHOULD HAVE-...w-wait…w-wait a minute…why am I getting emotional, you're barely the first guy I-."
Sora then said, "Hikage…I'm…not really sure what to say about this…but, in that dream, I remembered you saved me…I don't know how it's possible…but…I'm glad you did. Thanks." Hikage looked at Sora and blushed as she saw his happy face…
Hikage then explained, "...You know, I wouldn't normally bother with newbies like you…you should consider yourself lucky you got to spend a night with me." Sora then said, "Well, I don't think we did much of anything, if that makes you feel better. Honestly, I think we just happened to find our way in the same dream as…Toki."
Hikage crawled over to Sora's side and wrapped her right arm around his back while saying, "W-well, it wasn't entirely me who's to thank…" Hikage then reached behind her and brought out Sora's Good Luck Charm. "This was slipping out of your pocket…I found it, and…I don't know how, but I was taken inside your dream." Hikage explained.
Sora then said, "That's the charm Kairi made for me so we can see each other again. I'm glad it's still intact, even after all those battles…"
Hikage then said, "...it's beautiful…(ahem) Y-you should consider yourself lucky that this thing even brought someone into that empty noggin of yours, otherwise, we probably wouldn't have this conversation, Lazy BUM!"
The room was silent…
Especially after Sora recalled being called that same insult by someone he loved…
"...Hikage…does the name 'Kairi' ring a bell?" Sora asked. Hikage thought for a second and answered, "...well, HER name, I know thanks to the Crimson Squad, DURING our little get-together a few days ago." Sora then explained, "Sorry-sorry, I mean to ask…do you KNOW Kairi? Red hair, blue eyes, has the personality of a sister?" Hikage sadly shook her head, leaving Sora almost at a loss for words regarding the situation…
"I look like her, is that it?" Hikage asked. Sora nodded, making Hikage say, "I won't hold it against you, I mean, if she looks almost exactly like me, then it's possible your girlfriend's a real Mary Jane Watson." Sora chuckled and said, "Hey, since this was my fault, can I make you some dinner? The time left for the night is still below 8 anyway."
Hikage then smirked (rare moment) as she asked, "...it's that 'nightmare', isn't it?" Sora nodded, "...yes…"
Hikage hugged him close to help him calm down…
"...don't worry…I'm scared of her too…"
(CHOMP)
In her lair, Toki finished eating something (unseen) while Kraken walked right in. He cleared his throat, forcing Toki to close the cupboard near her throne and turn to see him…
Kraken then said, "Trouble sleeping, Lady Toki?" Toki answered, "I was enjoying a nap after interrogating the escapees who thought I wasn't looking. Of course, I just so happened to see the boy of my dreams. With what he saw, I was a little…emotional, but hopefully, he hasn't caught wind of my full plan yet." Kraken then asked, "Thanks to that idiot, Marilith, he knows we're seeking the Halo above his head. But fret not my lady, she had HER ways of dealing with the pests…and I have mine."
"Is there a point to your groveling, Kraken?" Toki asked. Kraken answered, "By tomorrow, I will flood Kabukicho, leaving it's inhabitants unguarded and lost. The hysterical masses tend to do ANYTHING when pushed against the wall. A frantic and busy Keybearer will never know how to defend himself when he's struggling to stay above the sea."
Toki then asked, "So…you're resorting to the Tsunami spell?" Kraken nodded, "Indeed, my lady. I swear to you, this spell will be the PERFECT trump card against that pesky twat of a Keybearer! Once he sees the damage I am capable of, he will regret being summoned!"
"So you say…" Toki said.
Kraken however said, "My lady…you DOUBT me?" Toki explained, "Our dreams have exposed enough to see within our unconscious souls, and Sora was NOT a yielding man. He stared me down, SWEARING to stop me…without even blinking…kinda turns me on."
Kraken stuttered at what he heard, "H-wha?"
"I WANNA #$% HIM, ALRIGHT?!" Toki snapped. Kraken nervously nodded and said, "W-well, I'll…just get to the plan while you…sort out your plans…" As Kraken left Toki sighed and said, "...my lust isn't ALL that needs sorting out…" Toki then pulled out a cell phone and called, "This is Toki. Ui, do you have the target in sight?" Ui answered, "Right-i-oh, Lady Toki, I have her in my sights!" Toki smiled and said, "Excellent…do not approach until I give the signal. The Kraken is aiming for our favorite Keyboy tomorrow, so you're ensured of a distraction to keep your tracks covered." Ui then said, "Good to know, Toki, I 'll keep my eyes open till then. Ui out." Toki chuckled and reopened the cupboard, pulling out her favorite unseen snack…
"I'll admit you've won me over, handsome…but I can't let you win all the marbles yet…not until…the right…moment…ahh…"
(CHOMP)
Back at the boathouse, Sora found everyone from both Hanzo Academy (Asuka, Katsuragi, Yagyu, Ikaruga, and Hibari), and the other members of Hikage's team, the Crimson Squad( Homura, the leader, and the others, Yomi, Sora's self-appointed maid, Mirai, the loli-goth with a bad attitude, and Haruka, the seductive mad scientist), waiting for him and Hikage in the living room, where they prepared a banquet in case Hikage succeeded in waking him up!
Katsu was of course the first to rush up to Sora and Hikage and cheer, "WELL LOOK WHO'S FINALLY UP FROM THEIR BEAUTY SLEEP! YOU DORKS SURE MADE US WORRIED, ESPECIALLY YOU, LITTLE MISS-EMOTIONLESS! HA, I KNEW YOU CARED!" Annoyed, Hikage said, "H-hey, I slipped IN that skull, I didn't want to anyway." Katsuragi of course didn't buy it and said, "Yeah, sure you didn't, ya soft-tiddied-softy!"
While Katsu was bugging Hikage, Sora sighed and said, "I got an odd bunch of worrywarts…"
"SORA, WE'RE HAPPY TO SEE YOU AWAKE TOO!" Hibari cheered as she hopped over and hugged Sora. Hibari then said, "When Asuka told us what Shiki did, we couldn't believe it, that whole dream, forced on you as a trial?! NO THANK YOU!" Sora chuckled and said, "W-well, what can I say? It was an experience I never thought I'd survive…still, I wouldn't have woken up now if it wasn't for Hikage's help. She saved me…in more ways than I can explain…"
Hibari then tried helping Sora onto the couch, where she offered him a warm washcloth to wipe his face with. And as she offered him some chips, she said, "...you're awake now, that's all that matters."
Suddenly though, Sora broke down in agony, crying out, "SHE WAS EATING EYEBALLS…SMILING WHILE EVERY WORLD I KNEW WAS BEING TORN AND BURNED INTO PIECES AND CINDER ALIKE! HOW CAN SUCH A PERSON EXIST?!"
Everyone looked at Sora breaking down while Homura slapped some sense into Sora while saying, "DUDE! The hard part hasn't started yet, worry about the bitch-witch when we beat the Four Fiends! Once her jerk crew is beaten out of submission, we can focus on their master! But by that time, we need you to be YOU: Happy, Brave, Unflinching, you are Sora, one of the coolest boys who ever lived! And I know for a fact you have more important things to do than let a bad dream get to you!" Hikage then smirked, "That's our leader for you, she knows just what to say."
Hibari nods while saying, "She's right, Sora. We can't be scared of who we're not facing today. Save that fear for when we have nothing in our way. Besides, against the enemy, you're never really alone, WE'RE all here to help you, just like you helped us! It's a back and forth kind of thing…you understand, right?" Sora smiled and nodded, "...yeah, I get it. Thanks…Hibari."
(CRUNCH)
But as soon as Sora bit into that first chip while looking at Hibari…
…he remembered…
…what KIND of eyeball Toki was eating…
Sora then sat up and went to the bathroom, puking in the toilet until he wiped his mouth, washed his hands, and said, "TOKI'S AIMING FOR HIBARI!"
