Just in case: no, I still don't own Codename: Kids Next Door. Inspired by a incredibly sweet review on the first part 3

He really was going to tell her that time. He just…

Wally repeatedly hit the badly beaten punching again, more mad at himself than anything. He'd admit it (to himself, not anyone else, and especially not Kuki): he'd chickened out of telling her again. Right at the last minute, too.

He hadn't really planned anything. It was all by dumb luck (or dumb unluck- that was a word, right?) that things had gone the way they did. It was nice out, just the two of them out on the deck, the sun was going down, they were talking, and he got a sudden burst of courage-

Blam! Another hit- harder than usual, this time.

-and it had fizzled out at the very last second. Instead, Wally said something he didn't really even mean, and that set her off, and then they got into a dumb fight before storming off to their rooms. All because he had lost his cruddy nerve. Another knock at the punching bag caused some more of its stitches to come undone.

It wasn't fair. He wasn't a coward. Numbuh Four was as brave as they come. He stole Stickybeard's ship. He had beaten nearly every villain all at once, all on his own. While he was decommissioned, he had taken out Chad in one punch. So why did he have to be such a wimp when he tried to tell a cruddy girl that he liked her? What about her made him feel so insecure? The bag gets it again.

And even when he didn't chicken out, he always got interrupted somehow, like the universe was trying to keep him from spitting it out. What if it wasn't just his bad luck? What if it was some kind of sign? That he shouldn't tell her, that he'd be better off this way, that he should just keep himself from getting hurt. He didn't like to think about that much- he let off all the steam it caused in a good, final blow to the punching bag. More of its seams burst open, and it sinks closer to the ground. He'd probably have to get it replaced soon, at this rate. Great. Today was going just great.

Wally sighed as he slumped down to the floor. He was stubborn, though. He wouldn't give up on telling her just yet, no matter what his bad luck or the universe had to say about it. He'd just keep on trying. A part of him hoped that in the off-chance that Kuki really did like him back, then she would go easy on him and just tell him herself.

This was a bit more angsty than I had initially intended, haha. I don't think that I'll add much more to this series, but I totally plan on writing more 3/4 stuff in the future! In fact, I'm working on something for them that's already quite a bit longer than anything else that I've posted here, and I'm really excited about it! Thank you all so much for reading :)
