Now originally I wasn't going to write a Halloween special, I was going to save that for next year given my plans but after a little discussion with my friend Ben2Dartmouth and thinking about it, especially after watching a particular movie, I decided to pull the trigger and might as well set up what I intend next year.

Hope you enjoy!

Earth-110488

It was the next morning. The once renowned Psychological Research Institute now had police cars surrounding it, for an incident had occurred that at first its denizens thought it was the result of a high school student who went down a troubled path but upon what ended up being the only nationwide airing of Independent Thinking around the Metoville area.

It had turned out to be much more sinister yet outlandish.

"Good evening, officers." A few police officers in front of the building heard a British accented voice.

They glanced to see a group of people in formal attire, even two younger people who were no more than ten and undoubtedly twins with two being fully grown adults and the third, a fourteen year brunette Japanese girl. The group had departed an 80s red corvette.

"My name is Niles Talbot." He introduced himself as he showed his CIA badge. "CIA, division six."

"Along with my associates and two interns." He added.

The two twins, a boy and girl, both at the age of thirteen, in casual clothing reflective of the 80s such as the boy wearing Transformers related clothing including a cap and the girl in Robotech related clothing along with a cap of her own, casually waving and smiling.

"We know what's inside and we'd like to save you the trouble cleaning up and getting it all off your hands." "Niles" said.

"By all means, go ahead!" One officer stepped aside.

"Yeah, this is beyond our...everything." Another officer said, feeling relieved-even borderline desperate. "Just take it all!"

"Happy to oblige then!" "Niles" smirked as he and the others stepped inside the premises.

As they opened the doors, they were greeted by a seemingly normal yet somehow feeling of uneasiness throughout the interior.

"So what now, Mr. Bond?" Asked Captain Carter, the one who wore formal attire that would be fit for the military.

"Niles" or rather, James Bond replied, "We're going to teach you three rookies another aspect of the Illuminati; clean up duty."

"Oh yes." Fuu said as she began to explain. "Sometimes where it seems like all abnormal activity has ceased in a particular universe, a select group is sent to investigate as well as a literal clean up crew follow up."

First, the group managed to take the stairs down to the boiler room. After a while of getting down, Fuu used a strange looking handheld device that was a tracker.

"The abnormal reading should be around here." Fuu said.

After the group made a few turns, they finally came across what they were looking for.

"Dear lord!" Captain Carter shouted in shock.

Much to the shock of everyone including the young twins, they found the remains of a creature, still bubbling and twitching a bit from whatever had possibly killed it and what it resembled despite the current state with even a few its skin and guts across the floor-indicating it exploded.

While the eyes and most of its teeth were somewhat intact, save for a teeth and remains of one of its eyes blasted apart.

"Is that...a giant brain?" Asked Captain Carter with uncertainty and confusion.

"Undoubtedly." Fuu replied as she began to examine the body.

"One with...teeth and eyes..." Captain Carter added with hesitancy as she stared wide eyed at the creature before her.

"That's a big brain..." The boy twin Jean-Paul Beaubier said as he stared wide eyed at the creature as well in shock.

"Yeah..." His twin sister, Jeanne-Marie Beaubier, nodded in agreement with the same wide eyed shock reaction.

Both twin siblings being of Earth-7901.

"By my estimate, this creature has been dead for nearly twenty four hours." Fuu said.

"Body's still fresh, no doubt." Bond said, having a neutral reaction to the creature's body.

Fuu stared at another curious object inside as she held a cloth to her nose and mouth as she placed a glove on her right hand.

As she dug inside the mouth to its throat through what remained of the sharp teeth, she pulled out a plastic container of sodium with the label still intact.

Fuu looked at the object curiously.

"I believe I found what killed it." Fuu said as held the container and showed it off the rest of the group.

"Sodium?" Bond raised an eyebrow but was somewhat amazed. "Not exactly brain food."

"You're somehow not fazed by this?" Captain Carter asked incredulously at her comrade's reaction.

"When you see this kind of thing constantly. You get used to the weirdness around you." Bond replied.

"Though this doesn't exactly top Hull House." He then added. "We had to get armies of Stephen Strange, Scarlet Witch, John Constantine and Tafrara variants to exorcize the area and detain Angela to another realm. That last part needed the help of a Ghostbusters team. Holtzmann was in particular helpful with designing a special trap for her and the various demons residing in that place."

Captain Carter continued to stare at him in puzzlement.

"I'm going to pretend that made sense to me." Captain Carter said.

Bond could not help but smirk.

"We're going to need the Janitors to move this thing to the lab." Fuu replied.

"Janitors?" The Beaubier twins asked.

"Our clean up crew." Captain Carter answered. "First learned about them during the tour."

Bond pressed on the comlink in his right ear and said, "Alright, send in the Janitors. Not only do we have clean up to do but a monster to confiscate and potential equipment."

As they await the Janitors, the group further explored the building.

In the Independent Thinking studio, Bond halted the Beaubier twins seeing a sight he believed they should not see.

"You two may need to stay outside this room." Bond said.

"Awww!" The Beaubier twins groaned in disappointment.

"Fuu, stay with them." He ordered one of the heads of the science division as he closed the door to which she quickly nodded.

The two circled and examined the sight. An older man lying on the floor with his head decapitated and green blood around much to the amazement and disturbed feeling of Captain Carter.

She stared aghast at the sight before her.

"What even went on here?" Captain Carter asked.

"Based on the footage by one of our drones that managed to sneak in during the broadcast," Bond said. "Seems this gentleman was the leader and not of this Earth apparently."

"So, the dead monster you'll allow the young ones to see but not this?" Captain Carter said.

"This one looks too human." Bond simply replied.

She raised her eyebrow, unsure of the answer.

"Right." She said flatly, unconvinced.

Next, the group explored another room. This time, it was a room filled with television and computer monitors with wires, tubes of chemicals on a platform and a glass tank that everyone immediately assumed was for the brain creature they had found.

"Why this is the work of a madman!" Captain Carter exclaimed in aghast at the sight before.

"Were they planning an invasion?" Asked Jeanne-Marie.

"Given the television broadcast equipment, very likely." Replied Bond.

Outside down a highway was a shuttlecraft that descended from above before it transformed into a SWAT car via holographic projection.

The vehicle arrived at the Psychological Research Institute and parked backwards.

Opening the doors were a group of twelve people in police swat gear.

One individual in particular as they marched toward the building, she flashed their badge to the officers who were still waiting outside and nonplussed by the sight of the swat truck.

"We're with the CIA, division six." A female voice said.

The officers could only shrug in response.

The group met the incoming squad in the main lobby of the building.

"You can turn off the holograms." Bond said.

To the amazement of the young twins, the squad turned what looked like watches on their wrists and transformed the individual into a metallic red, white and blue suit-coupled with guns and a rifle with tubes attached to tanks on her back and a shield around her arm.

While the rest were either men in armored white suits with black visors on their helmets with similar weapons and others, robotic humanoid looking drones.

"Gee whiz!" The twins exclaimed in amazement.

"Meet Agent Daisy Johnson, otherwise known as Captain America of Earth-030165." Bond introduced the two. "She's the team captain of the Janitors."

She removed her helmet, revealing Daisy to be of Chinese descent with brunette short hair.

"And the rest, Clone Troopers and Ultron drone variants where he never turned evil." He added. "A few of our undercover agents managed to steal the DNA of the Clone Troopers from their universe before an apparent dictator named Palpatine shut everything down. These days we use the clones for this, combat training, fellow agents or transfer to homes back on Earth-030122."

"That sounds very complicated." Jean-Paul remarked.

"What do you want us to do?" Asked Daisy Johnson as two of the Clone Troopers removed their helmets revealing men with with brown and tanned skin. One had blue hair while the other had short dark hair.

"For starters, we have a creature to take back." Bond replied. "It's dead, no need to worry."

"Kind of hoped we'd blast something to be honest." The blue haired trooper known as Buza said with disappointment in his voice.

"Shut up." The Trooper known as Cobweb elbowed him.

"And then," Bond began to add. "Basically take everything else that remains including the electronic equipment and sterilize the place entirely. We don't have anything remaining like a potential disease. We don't want potential zombie plagues, do we?"

"Nope. We'll get to work on it." Daisy nodded.

She then turned to the rest of the squad and said her orders.

"Alright boys, you know what to do!"

"Yes, Captain!" The Clones and the Ultron drones shouted back.

With that, they went to work. The clones, codenamed Hat, Cauldron, Eggy, Pumpkin, Turnip, Carver, Gale, Skulls, Hayride, Pearson, Preston, Haig, Kossak, Bresnahan, Craven, Carpenter and Ed, and the Ultron drones began to clean up the mess at the Independent Thinking studio-wiping away all the green blood and placing the head in a box labeled "Evidence" and locking it. And then using the weapons, they sprayed the floor to clean up the mess.

Then came confiscating all the technological equipment. They strapped them onto carts and wheeled them out until all the rooms literally contained nothing.

Finally, came the remains of the brain creature.

"Well, this I didn't think I'd see." Daisy said, feeling exasperated at the sight of the large creature.

"That's a nasty piece of work." Ed remarked, borderline between the line of being disgusted and impressed.

"Let's just get this over with." Daisy then sighed before turning to Ed and said, "Thankfully this thing is dead so it's easy to be careful this time."

"I'm always careful!" Ed retorted.

"Dude, you lost an arm to the Krites at one point when you thought small little things with teeth still meant easy capturing." Daisy reminded him of the incident whilst pointing at the robotic right arm Ed had.

"I got a nifty new arm in the process at least!" Ed grinned underneath his helmet as he flexed his robotic arm.

Daisy rolled her eyes in response as she went to work with Ed following behind.

"What?" Ed asked in confusion, not understanding Daisy's frustration.

With gloves on, Daisy, the clones and the Ultron drones despite the weight, managed to get the brain creature onto the large wheeled gunnery and strapped it down to prevent it from falling as well covering it with a large white sheet before the straps were placed on.

"God, this thing smells!" Daisy exclaimed in disgust as she could smell the creature starting to rot away.

"You're telling me, boss!" Craven said as even he smelled the creature's corpse underneath his helmet much to his disgust.

"Alright guys, clean this area too and we're good to go." Daisy ordered the clones and the Ultron drones.

"Let's go!" Daisy then barked.

With that, the Ultron drones with their strength, managed to push the gunnery with Daisy following behind. While the clones began to clean the blood left behind by the dead brain creature and sterilized the floors and walls afterwards with their spray cannons.

Outside, the Janitors managed to get their holograms back on beflre going outside as they loaded all the evidence onto the truck much to the shock and amazement of the police officers who stared in awe, wondering how much space did their truck have.

Finally, they saw the entire team load the brain creature onto the truck.

"Is that everything?" Bond asked Daisy.

"We got everything." Daisy replied. "Cleaned twice even."

As the rest of Bond's group followed, the Beaubier twins rubbed their eyes, already feeling tired from the day.

Absentmindedly, they glanced at a normal but somehow weird sight.

They witnessed a group of children, mainly little girls and even a few boys, all dressed in white with the girls playing jump rope and the boys standing around.

Earth-231163, various time periods

"What's wrong?" Yaz asked as she noticed The Doctor, the Thirteenth incarnation, paused at the TARDIS console for a moment.

She was concerned as she looked as if all the color was drained off her face. A feeling shared by all the Doctors and their companions respectively.

The Doctor snapped out of it, shaking her head.

"Forgive me, Yaz." The Doctor apologized to Yaz. "I was sensing a terrible, evil presence at that moment."

She then added with fear in her voice, "Something...it's not The Master or the Daleks. This presence, it's not ancient but it's not new either. Someone dormant or was but now this presence is starting to make their return."

"Who is it then?" Yaz asked, feeling the fear herself.

"I don't know." The Doctor replied with determination. "But if we come across this evil, we have to find a way to stop him."

"Is it the Dream Lord again?" Amy asked.

"No, not this time I'm afraid." The Doctor in his eleventh incarnation said with fear trembling in his voice. "This presence is something far more active and malicious. Gleefully so."

"Perfect." Rory sarcastically said. "Another madman."

"No." The Doctor shook his head gravely. "This presence is something or someone far, far, far worse."

The Tenth incarnation of the Doctor felt shaken. He felt a presence and searched around the TARDIS for anything suspicious.

"Professor, what is it?" Asked the young Ace.

"I'm not sure, but I felt a presence." The Seventh incarnation of The Doctor said gravely. "A presence of extreme evil."

"Doctor?" Nyssa asked the fifth incarnation of the Doctor out of concern. "Doctor, what's the matter?"

"I'm sensing a dark and evil presence starting to seep through the multiverse." The Doctor said in a fearful chilling tone. "But I can't seem to figure out who it is."

"Who is it, Doctor?" Leela asked the fourth incarnation of The Doctor.

"The name I don't know." The Doctor said gravely as he looked around as if he were expecting someone.

"But I fear this presence I'm sensing might be a bigger threat to the Multiverse than I fear." The third incarnation of the Doctor said to his companion Sarah Jane Smith, who had noticed a look of concern on his face.

"This presence..." The first incarnation of The Doctor said to Ian, Barbara and Susan in response to their concerning questions upon seeing the look of disturbed terror on the old man's face. "I don't know how to explain it. But this vile evil might begin to spread."

"What's wrong, Doc?" Jubilee asked the Fugitive Doctor due to the Time Lord's look of worry and disturbed expression on her face when she froze near the TARDIS console.

"I don't know." The Doctor answered. "I don't know what it is. But something or someone is making their way through the Multiverse."

"We'll stop it!" Jubilee said with confidence.

"Thing is, I don't know if we can." The Doctor said with uncertainty. "We can try but I have a feeling he'll be unstoppable."

Earth-199999, Sanctum Sanctorum

Wong and Doctor Strange were placing books on the shelves until both men froze. Both felt chills down their spines.

"Did you feel that?" Asked Wong, feeling concerned and uneasy.

"Yeah." Doctor Strange said, feeling uneasy as well.

"I fear a terrible presence is coming..." Wong said gravely.

And not long after, Wanda Maximoff awoke from her bed elsewhere. Having a similar chilling feeling of unease.

Even Robbie Reyes in his garage, looked around. It was if he sensed something but he could not figure out what.

Earth-16219 Fair City, USA

Psycho-Pirate froze as he stood still in his cell with Doctor Two-Brains staring at him in confusion. He noticed his cellmate was breathing heavily underneath as if he were frightened.

"What's your problem?" Doctor Two-Brains asked.

"There is an evil coming…" Psycho-Pirate breathed as he quivered even. "This presence, I don't know how, but even he scares me…"

"Is he after you or something?" Doctor Two-Brains then asked

"No. The mask protects my mind. But I am starting to fear that this city may soon have another child killer… Besides you, Boxleitner." Psycho-Pirate responded gravely.

Earth-192, Tower of Fate

Doctor Fate and his wife Inza froze from their mundane duties, both feeling uneasy themselves.

"What is it?" Asked Inza as she became worried.

"I do not know." Doctor Fate responded gravely, equally worried. "But I fear this presence may be even greater than those I fought. Something far more dangerous than the old ones."

Even elsewhere, Zatanna, just as she was getting ready for her latest show, felt a chill down her spine. Confused and wondered what caused it.

Earth-1, Waverider

In the laboratory, John Constantine was about to smoke yet another cigarette but then paused. Even he had an unnerved and disturbed look on his face; sensing the exact presence as others had.

"Bollocks…" Constantine breathed.

Earth-92131, Central Park

Around a lake in Central Park where Clea and Luz were practicing spells, Clea ceased her spell she was demonstrating to Luz and whirled around as if she were expecting someone.

"What's wrong?" Asked Luz, feeling alarmed herself and ready to fight.

"I felt an evil presence." Clea replied. "But whatever or whoever it is, I have a terrible feeling he might be near."

"Who is it?" Asked Luz. "Is it that Dormammu guy you told me about?"

Clea shook her head softly.

"No." Clea replied. "This evil seems far more dangerous."

"Best to keep an eye out." She added.

Luz nodded in agreement, feeling a bit fearful herself.

Earth-110488

"Feeling tired, aren't we?" Captain Carter said, startling the twins by accident-snapping out of their trance.

"Sorry!" She quickly apologized.

"Don't worry, it's fine." Jeanne-Marie assured her.

"Yeah, we are feeling a bit tired." Jean-Paul said.

"Maybe a nap will do us all good." Captain Carter said.

"Everything seems in order anyway." Said Bond before adding as he saw the Janitors step back into the truck, "Amazing what reconfiguring TARDISES left behind from the Time War can do when turning them into something else."

"Nice to meet you, gentlemen." Bond shook the hands of the officers. "I assure you, your problems are over."

"Just glad we can put all this behind us now." One of the officers said with relief in his tone.

"Best be off now." Bond then said before walking away.

The group retreated to their vehicle and with that, both them and the disguised swat truck drove away from the Psychological Research Institute for good.

As they drove on the highway with no one else looking, the vehicles turned into their space shuttle crafts and lifted off into the sky through a portal.

Finally afterwards, the portal dematerialized.

But despite the Illuminati agents and various members being sure no one had witnessed anything, a few little girls dressed in white were staring at what transpired while playing jump rope. All while humming a peculiar rhyme on a loop.

" One, two, Freddy' s coming for you..."

2024

The nightmare returns…

Author's Notes:

Yes indeed! I have a Halloween one shot in mind next year for the return of Freddy Krueger!

- So, The Brain. First off, I first heard about this film thanks to James Rolfe way back in 2009 and God that feels like a long time ago these days and I hate it.

Anyway, as usual during October, I watched his Monster Madness reviews and one day came a review on The Brain. Which I thought looked interesting based on the footage and wanted to see it since but the problem was at that time, no DVD release. Not even on YouTube I think. So, out of luck there.

Yes, now there's a Blu Ray from Shout Factory which, awesome. But I'm on a tight budget. But lucky for me, a non paywall streaming service called Freevee has The Brain and for my Horror movie marathon, I instantly put it on the list. And there was that and I loved it more than I thought I would to the point where I think Rolfe undersold how fun the movie is.

- Now why this? Well at first it was just that, a thought. But after a discussion with my friend Ben2Dartmouth, I decided to take a chance on it. Especially given what happens later, it gave me an excuse for set up and what else the Illuminati does.

- The alias Niles Talbot is the name of the villain from the Tales from the Crypt episode The Man Who Was Death.

- The introduction of younger versions of the Beaubier twins who are Hardy Boys types came out of another discussion where I thought of a Jessica Jones variant who's a Nancy Drew type character and for Hardy Boys analogs, he suggested Northstar and Aurora which I thought, perfect!

- Hull House and Angela are a reference to Night of the Demons. A Horror film I really love.

- Tafrara is a trans woman Sorcerer Supreme who was recently introduced in this year's Marvel's Voices: Pride.

- "Why this is the work of a madman!" Is a line I took from the 1958 version of The Fly which was uttered by the late great Vincent Price and I pictured Captain Carter saying it in the same manner he did.

- The concept of The Janitors was the main driving force of this idea. The opening scenes of Men in Black being the main inspiration, specifically a scene of MIB agents torching around the desert like a cactus to get rid of alien blood to cover their tracks.

So that was a big influence and ironically, I wanted to establish the Illuminati having ties to Men in Black organization variants to the point of trading technologies save for Time Lord tech they keep and even utilize similar nueralizers. But it felt like too much exposition so that got cut but might appear again somehow unless anyone wants to use it which, by all means feel free to ask.

- I did debate briefly about whether the titular Janitors were Clone Troopers or variants. So I asked Ben2Dartmouth which he liked more and Clone Troopers was he told me was the right call and really, this was a case of my gut feeling being right, especially for reasons he told me.

And yes, I'm aware of what Michael Weyer wrote in a piece he uploaded a few days ago recently but in my defense, what the Illuminati does is free game anyway and honestly, why not have fun?

- Daisy Johnson/Quake being Captain America was very last minute. Just for the rule of cool.

- Ben2Dartmouth suggested the nicknames of the clones fitting of the Halloween theme and these were what we picked along with my choice of the name Skulls and I couldn't resist putting Carpenter and Craven as my shout out to John Carpenter and Wes Craven.

But he also suggested naming one of the clones Burza after actor George Burza, who is the voice of Beast in the 90s X-Men animated series but also more importantly for this story, he was one of the antagonists in The Brain, playing a henchman seen throughout. And I didn't realize it was him so when Ben2Dartmouth brought that to my attention, my brain exploded.

And as such other Clones are named after people who worked on The Brain such as director Edward Hunt, writer Barry Pearson, producer Don Haig and other actors such as Tom Bresnahan, Cynthia Preston and David Gale.

- Ed was actually supposed to be nicknamed Hunt but Ben2Dartmouth reminded me there's already a Clone Trooper named Hunter in The Bad Batch and that might be too close to that name. So I picked Ed instead.

- Ben2Dartmouth also suggested a metal arm for the sake of a Fullmetal Alchemist reference and if I was going to do that, I wanted to make a darkly humorous joke how and why, especially since I'm also fond of Noodle Incident jokes as much as absurd and/or dark comedy ones.

And originally I thought of The Wolf Man being the one to tear his arm but Ben2Dartmouth suggested a better idea; the Krites from Critters tore off his arm. And I simply thought that was perfect with the dark comedy but I wanted to put in and he did point out the Krites are on the threat list.

It was just that perfect.

- Originally, it was going to end just with the Beaubier twins staring the jump rope kids but I guess you could say I wanted more and wanted to include a Doctor Who reference somehow.

- So it was also going to be just the Doctor and my reason including the Doctor being that Freddy seeping into the multiverse is such a big deal, the 13th incarnation will feel it and even previous incarnations will across space and time.

- So just so we're clear, the inclusion of Ian, Barbara and Susan is before the first Doctor dealt with the Hyperion stuff and Party Thor.

- Ultimately I decided Freddy returning and starting to seep through the multiverse should be treated such a big deal that various magic users should at least notice even if they don't know specifically it's him.

- A few DC heroes including Psycho Pirate/Toby was an idea of Ben2Dartmouth and even he wrote that last bit of dialogue I asked if I could use and he said yes.

- I did think about including Agatha Harkness but I couldn't think of where so I wouldn't interfere with what Michael Weyer is doing with her currently that I decided to not include such a scene and if he so desires to have her sense Freddy Krueger, by all means. If he doesn't, that's cool with me.

That's about all the behind the scenes there are but hope you all enjoyed this one shot. There will be more to come! See ya soon!
