George Mason waited in the interragation room. Ryan Chapelle came in to question him.

.

Chapelle: We know you're working with the terrorists George.

Mason: That's a lie.

Chapelle: The house that Kalil just blew up, it was owned by Parsons Industries.

Mason: Never heard of them.

Chapelle: Yet you just happen to be the sole stock holder of the company.

Mason: What are you talking about?

Chapelle: The money trail leads directly to you George. Right now your only chance of avoiding the death penalty is to cooperate fully. But you and I have never really bonded, so trust me when I say that I would have no problem getting intel from you the hard way.

Mason: I don't know anything about the terrorists' plans, I don't know why the money trail leads to me but I am innocent.

Chapelle: The hard way it is.

.

Jack Bauer arrives at Kalil's house. There is a crowd watching the firefighters working on the house. Jamal said that two guys left the house just before they went inside. Most likely they're among the crowd, so he decides to bluff. Jack addresses the crowd.

.

Jack: May I have your attention please. My name is Jack Bauer, I'm with CTU. One of the people in the explosion has said that two people left this house just before the explosion. He is looking at photos right now and we will soon have a positive ID.

.

One of the young men in the crowd tried to covertly leave, and Jack chased him. Jack was soon able to tackle him and begin questioning him. His name was Justin.

.

Justin: I had nothing to do with the explosion.

Jack: Did you know that Kalil was involved with terrorists?

Justin: After I was decarcerated Kalil promised I could crash on his couch, but he said he had some friends that I didn't need to see. So when he called and asked me to get lost, I did.

Jack: Do you know who owned this building?

Justin: Kalil just said he was sticking it to Gilroy.

Jack: Who's Gilroy?

Justin: He was chief of police, he manipulated resources to make sure crime rates rose in some areas, so real estate went down. Then he used resources to decrease crime, so prices go up. In between those two he bought houses in the area.

Jack: You're saying he wanted crime to go up so that he could make a fortune in a real estate scam?

Justin: That's what Kalil said, he was always talking about how the system keeps us down.

Barnes speaks with president Keaton regarding Obaidulah's admission.

.

Keaton: Do you believe that Razi had a source within the Afghan government?

Barnes: I've looked over Razi's targets this past month. He assasinated three drug lords, bombed the headquarters of the Afghan Communist Party, and assasinated general Kharal of Pakistan.

Keaton: All of whom were avowed enemies of the Taliban.

Barnes: That's what we thought too, but there is another way of looking at that. The drug lords were also fighting the current government. The communists are becoming a real opposition party. General Kharal helped us fight the Taliban and Alueda, but there are those in the government who fear Pakistan is exerting too much influence in Afghanistan. It is possible that some elements in the Afghan government were using Razi to do their dirty work and eliminate their enemies. Razi was convinced that the Afghan Army would delay fighting them, maybe he was set up to die but I do believe he had some connection to the government.

Keaton: If this is true, our withdrawel will have to be delayed.

Barnes: We're preparing to speak with Samira Noori, she might have at least some indication of why the Taliban were going out of their way to kill her.

Keaton: Keep me informed.

Barnes: Yes mr president.

.

While George Mason is being tortured Ryan Chapelle calls Jack Bauer.

.

Chapelle: Jack, we found the traitor, it was George Mason.

Jack: You're certain it was him?

Chapelle: Yes. He denies it, but what else can he say? I understand why you hesitated to come in earlier, but it's safe now. And reverand Adam is likely getting ready to attack in the next few hours. We could really use your help right now.

.

Jack hoped that Mason was the only mole, and that it was over. But he wasn't sure, and he didn't know if Chapelle could be trusted.
