The next morning, breakfast was an interesting affair. While the students of UA had prepared traditional Japanese breakfast foods such as grilled salmon and nori – that is, seaweed – the French students went for more simple fare such as croissants. Nevertheless, it was clear that the UA students were enjoying the food:
"These are some of the best croissants I've ever had!" said Uraraka. "Who made these?"
"You can thank me for those!" said Marinette.
"You made a buncha really good desserts last night, too!" said Kirishima. "What's your secret?"
Marinette chuckled. "Well, I can't exactly give away my secrets, but I will say that my family and I are pretty much the best bakers in Paris!"
"Quit bragging, Losernette!" said Chloé. "You'll never be as rich and powerful as me or my family!"
Todoroki shot a death glare at Chloé.
At Aizawa's homeroom class, Aizawa had an announcement for his students:
"Good morning, class. I am actually pleased with you for once. For the most part, I have received positive feedback from our six guests on how well you've been treating them. In doing so, you have demonstrated qualities becoming of heroes. Having said that, I would like to see Bakugo for a moment. Everyone else, proceed to your classes as usual."
Everyone but Kacchan got up and headed for their first class.
"All right, Mr. Aizawa, what did I do this time?" asked Kacchan.
"Bakugo, I've been told that you've been yelling at and cussing out our guests. As you know, this is unacceptable behavior. You should be treating our guests with love and respect, and quite frankly, I'm disappointed in you."
Kacchan crossed his arms. "So what? I hate everybody equally, and I don't see why these losers should be any different."
Aizawa glared at Kacchan. "I'm warning you, Bakugo, this kind of behavior is grounds for expulsion. Unless you wanna lose a chance at becoming one of the world's greatest heroes, I suggest you behave yourself towards them. Do I make myself clear?"
Kacchan glared back at Aizawa. As much as he held contempt for the six Parisians, he realized that if he kept being his usual Kacchan self, then he would lose out on a chance at beating Deko. Thus, his answer was obvious:
"Fine. I'll be good to them."
"Smart choice, Bakugo."
"Just don't expect me to like it, OK?"
"I don't expect you to like it; I expect you to obey me."
"Hmph."
Meanwhile, during that day's classes, Marinette was walking down the halls of UA, just minding her own business when she froze, feeling that she'd forgotten something, so she spun around and tried to head back, only to trip on herself. She wasn't the only one around when this happened, either:
"Still tripping over thin air, Clumsinette?" said Chloé.
Marinette pushed herself up. "Chloé, why do you have to be so mean? We're trying to set a good example for these people, remember?"
Chloé put her hands on her hips. "And why should I care about them? They'll never amount to anything!"
Marinette crossed her arms. "Hello! You saw what they did at Quirk training yesterday! Even check out Midoriya, Bakugo and Todoroki if you doubt these people's skills!"
"Know what? Just shut your mouth, Clumsinette! Oh, and just to make sure it's shut…"
Chloé deliberately tripped Marinette, laughing as she did so. However, her little act of bullying hadn't gone unnoticed:
"Hey! HEY!"
Todoroki made his way over to Chloé.
"Leave Marinette alone, Chloé!"
Chloé crossed her arms. "And who are you, exactly?"
"I just so happen to be the son of the #1 Pro Hero, and if you have a problem with this nice girl, then you have a problem with me, too."
"Why don't you bug off? Don't you have better things to do with your time?"
"In this school, heroes never leave fellow heroes behind. I'll only give you this warning once: leave Marinette alone."
"Not gonna happen! Besides, my father is more powerful than your father!"
Todoroki grabbed Chloé by the collar. "Then since you won't listen to reason, let me put it to you this way: if you don't leave this girl alone, I swear to god, I'll break your fucking neck! Do you hear me?"
Chloé's eyes widened, and she repeatedly gasped in horror as Todoroki's heterochromic eyes menaced her to her very core. Suddenly, the prospect of getting horribly mangled by a 5'9", ice- and fire-producing bad boy told her that she was better off not picking on anybody, so she ran away screaming her lungs out. Meanwhile, Todoroki attended to Marinette:
"Marinette, how are you feeling? She didn't hurt you too bad, did she?"
Marinette shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Thanks for…"
Suddenly, Marinette trailed off as her bluebell eyes once again gazed longingly into Todoroki's heterochromic ones. As she did, he got lost in hers, feeling that she sparkled more brilliantly than all the stars in the sky. There was just an indescribable quality about her that made him want to wrap his arms around her and smooch her brains out. To him, she was the very personification of all that was cute and cuddly. Eventually, though, he blinked and came to his senses:
"W-why are you looking at me like that?"
Marinette gazed lovingly at Todoroki for a bit more before her response came thusly, with her face turning red as well:
"Oh…sorry! Why was I looking at you like that? It's not like I have a crazy crush on you or anything lololololol!"
"Right. May I assist you further?"
"Yeah, why don't we make ou…our way to Gym Gamma? We don't wanna be late for our training sessions lolololololol!"
"Of course not. Let's go."
Todoroki and Marinette headed for Gym Gamma.
After the day's courses had concluded, Deko decided to take a walk outside. While she didn't mind staying in her dorm playing video games, watching YouTube videos or doing anything of the sort, she also liked to go out and get fresh air every now and then. Plus, she also enjoyed looking at the green grass and the other plants that bloomed around the campus. However, today's trek would be like no other, for as she was walking, she heard a tune being played on an acoustic guitar, beckoning her like a siren song of yore. Suitably entranced, she made a slow gait towards the sound, her eardrums being seduced like never before. She wasn't sure who was playing that tune, but whoever it was really knew how to speak to her emotions. Eventually, she found out the mysterious troubadour, and it was none other than…
"Hey Luka!"
Luka stopped playing. "Hey there, Midoriya!"
"I didn't know you knew how to play guitar!"
"I've been playing ever since I was seven."
"Neat! Mind if I sit down next to you?"
"Not at all!"
Deko took a spot on the grass next to Luka, who continued playing.
"Actually, I have to be honest: I play guitar too," said Deko.
Luka paused. "Really?"
Deko rubbed the back of her head. "Well…I'm not the best guitar player, but I enjoy playing."
Luka put a hand on Deko's shoulder. "You don't have to be the best at it! I mean, if you're having fun, isn't that all that matters?"
Deko smiled nervously. "You know, you're right!" (Oh god, he's touching me! I feel like I'm gonna faint!)
"I like you, Midoriya! You're a very pleasant person to be around!"
Deko giggled. "Please, call me 'Deko'!"
"Deko, huh? Where did that one come from?"
"Kacchan…er, Bakugo came up with that, using it as a shortened form of 'Defenseless Izuko'. I used to hate it, but then Uraraka told me how much she liked it, saying it had a 'can do' vibe, so the name stuck."
"Well, I like it too; it sounds like the name of a love song!"
Luka strummed a C chord on his guitar before singing a song about Deko:
"Deko, oh Deko,
Your green eyes sparkle like emeralds,
Your soft voice soothes me like a song,
When you're near, I feel so happy,
You make me feel like I belong,
Deko, my Deko."
Deko clapped when the song was done.
"Good job! You might just have a #1 jam on your hands!"
Luka smiled. "You really think so?"
Deko put a hand on Luka's shoulder and leaned closer to him. "I know so!"
Luka smiled, though he found it a bit difficult not to stare at Deko's immense rack.
While Luka and Deko were enjoying each other's company, Todoroki, Adrien, Kagami, Tokoyami, Mireille and Kirishima were lounging around in the common area of the dorms.
"Tell me, Adrien: how did you and Kagami meet?" asked Tokoyami.
"It's an interesting story: she just came out of nowhere, asking to join the same fencing class as me. She fought just as hard as I did, and I admire any woman who can match me at fencing. Anyways, Marinette was asked to judge the duel, and she hastily chose me. Kagami was so disappointed that she ended up being akumatized into Riposte, but we saved her, and since then, I've come to see just how right Kagami is for me."
"That's an interesting story, but what do ya mean she got 'akumatized'?" asked Kirishima.
"In Paris, there resides an extremely powerful villain known as Hawk Moth," replied Kagami. "He preys upon negative emotions and uses his power to create magical butterflies known as 'akumas', which turn people into villains that do his bidding. Akumas aren't technically meant to be used for evil, but this 'man' is doing so, and that's why he must be stopped at all costs."
"That sounds awful," said Todoroki. "It makes me wonder why certain students here haven't been akumatized."
Adrien stroked his chin. "That's a good point. My guess is that Hawk Moth just hasn't found anyone here worth akumatizing yet."
"That, or nobody here has produced enough negative energy for him to take notice of," said Kagami.
"Confucius says: Woman who goes camping must beware of evil intent," said Longg.
"Longg, you know Confucius never said that," said Kagami.
"Either one could be true," said Tokoyami. "Regardless, we must make efforts to treat one another with the utmost of love and respect."
Kirishima gave a thumbs up. "Amen!"
For the rest of the day, nothing especially exciting happened.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
