UA Sports Festival Class Announcement
The scene shows of a room with a small TV placed inside a bookshelf on with the room itself being dark and only single short figure is sitting on the couch, the figure is also watching the news about villains attacking the USJ that happened yesterday.
And there's a letter on the table along with a plate of frozen fish treats that was done cooking in the microwave, a letter written by All Might.
Which is the first time in years since he got any word from All Might since they last saw each other.
Greetings, the air is warm here. It feels like summer is just around the corner. I hope this letter finds you well, sir. In good health and even better spirits. This semester, I took a position as a teacher in UA High School. That's right, I'm not guiding the next generation of heroes. I was hoping to find someone worthy of inheriting my power among the elite students at the school. A hero-in-training with outstanding test scores and a powerful Quirk.
However, before I ever began my tenure at UA, I met a young man. Even though he was weak, and had no Quirk of his own, he showed incredible bravery. He rushed into a dangerous situation that caused pro heroes including myself to hesitate and managed to save the life of a classmate. He may not have had a plan when he acted, but he knew he had to do something.
I feel like watching this young man spring into action taught me something that day, and it reminded me of the virtues I must embody in order to call myself a pro, a hero.
That's why… I meant it when I said this to him: "Young man, you too can become a hero."
Soon after that, I told this pupil the secret of my Quirk, and proposed that I transfer it to him. This ability I have, that's been passed on from person to person, cultivated, and made stronger, the crystallization of power that binds itself to a courageous heart for the good of those in need: One for All.
He accepted without hesitation, and I began training him for the trails he'd need to overcome in order to be accepted into the hero course at UA High School. Even though he sometimes struggle with his newfound abilities, he never stopped fighting, and gave 100% as he tries to harness One for All.
I don't like to toot my own horn, but I believe I found the perfect person to pass my Quirk on to. He has shown me time and again that he has what it takes to be a real hero.
I'm still quite new to the role of instructor. The day may come when I must trouble you, my old teacher, for advice. I'll be counting on your wisdom and patience when that time comes.
Until then, please take care of yourself as the season begin to change. I'll continue to keep you updated about what's happening.
Sincerely yours, Toshinori Yagi.
"So, Toshinori has found a worthy successor." The old man said, having a small smile on his face.
(UA High, Class 1-A)
Ryuko and Satsuki are walking together until they come into a path that the older sister must take for her class.
"I'll see you at lunch time, Ryuko. Do well to behave." Satsuki advised.
"Hey, you make it sound like I'll cause trouble." Ryuko glared.
"Just making sure." Satsuki smiled before leaving to her own class.
"(I hope Satsuki won't be doing something crazy after that whole villain ordeal at the USJ, that goes for Izuku too.)" Ryuko thought worried.
Then her mind went to the memory of her and Izuku's accidental kissing at the ramen stand.
Seeing that memory causes Ryuko's face to turn red like crazy and steam coming out of her head.
"Oh shit! I can't stop thinking about that kiss! How does something like that even happen in the first place?" Ryuko asked herself exclaiming.
"It's going to be really hard for me to look at Izuku the same way after that, it's not like I have a major crush on him which is pretty student since we've only known each other for a short while since we entered UA." Ryuko stated.
"Then again, he has done some amazing things even though he can be crazy." Ryuko smiled, scratching her cheek a bit with a small smile.
"And I really did like how we hung out together at the ramen… Oh man, why the fuck is heart beating so much?" Ryuko asked herself, clenching onto her chest.
"Damn it, get it together, Ryuko Kiyurin! This isn't something you should be nervous about!" Ryuko tried to pull herself together.
But then she felt something bump onto her shoulder and turns her head to see that someone is none other than Izuku Midoriya who also turn his head to face her.
Both Ryuko and Izuku stare at each other for a moment of silent with their face slowly turning red seeing how close they are to each other.
"G-G-Good morning, Ryuko! How was your morning?" Izuku asked.
"Doing g-g-great, thank you for asking." Ryuko responded in a very awkward tone.
"So, looking forward to class today?" Ryuko asked as they started walking again.
"Yeah, hopefully the villains won't think about trying to attack UA again as the school must've buff up their security right about now." Izuku answered.
"I'm just glad we were able to get through the day at all, even though we did get ourselves hurt back there." Ryuko chuckled.
"By the way, how has All Might been doing? Still struggling a little with his body?" Ryuko asked.
"You could say that, but he's been trying his best to take it easy since then and will try his best to train us to be extra prepared in case another villain attack." Izuku explained.
"That's good to know." Ryuko nodded.
When they arrived at their classroom door, they spotted Nonon is speaking with one of their classmates, Kyoka Jiro, and the former just left.
"What do you think that was about?" Ryuko asked.
"I don't know, maybe we can ask her." Izuku suggested and they walk up to Kyoka.
"Yo, Jiro! Were you just talking to one of my sister's friends just now?" Ryuko asked getting the rock girl's attention.
"Oh, you saw that, huh? Yeah, she came up to me asking if I was interested in music and I told her yes." Kyoka explained a little.
"Really, that's all she wanted?" Izuku asked curiously.
"Yeah, but it's nothing major or anything. Let just get into class." Kyoka said as she walked back in.
Ryuko can tell that there was definitely something up with her and wondering in her head of what could Nonon want with Kyoka.
Izuku and Ryuko enter their classroom and overhear some of their peers about the incident on the attack of USJ with the villains and how people outside of school are talking about it since it's still a major piece of news to them.
"(Oh man, I wonder if this is the sort of thing mom has to deal with when being a hero?)" Ryuko thought asked herself.
"Attention! Homeroom class is about to begin! Everyone stops talking and take your seats." Tenya ordered, not noticing that everyone has already taken their seats.
"Sorry to break it to you, Iida, but you're the only one still standing!" Ryuko called out with a laugh.
"Except you're literally sitting on top of your desk!" Tenya gestured to the scene of Ryuko sitting on her desk.
"Please sit down appropriately!" Tenya demanded.
"Okay, okay, sheesh." Ryuko exclaimed as she sat down on her chair.
"So, Tsuyu?" Mina leaned back to get closer to Tsuyu, and almost trip back as the frog helped her be steady.
"Who do you think is gonna teach class today?" Mina asked.
"No idea. Mr. Aizawa's still in the hospital recovering from his injuries." Tsuyu reminded her of their teacher's condition.
"Maybe he came back as a Mummy!" Mako guessed silly.
"I don't think Mr. Aizawa is even from Egypt." Momo said.
They heard the door open, making the students turn their heads shockingly to see their homeroom teacher standing at the door with his entire face and both of his arms were completely covered in bandages.
"Hello, class." Aizawa greeted.
"Mr. Aizawa, what are you doing here?!" The students gasped.
"Whoa! What a pro!" Denki commented shock.
"Mr. Aizawa, I am glad to see that you are okay!" Tenya said raising his hand.
"You call that "okay"?" Ochaco asked.
"I knew it! Mr. Aizawa did come back as a Mummy!" Mako cheered.
"My wellbeing is irrelevant. What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet." Aizawa said.
This got the students to jolt up when their teacher just said that their fight isn't over yet, some are fearing that it's more bad guys suddenly going to show up to attack UA again, and this also gets Ryuko angry as she remembers her fight with them including Nui.
"The UA Sports Festival is about to start." Aizawa informed.
All the tension and worries that were on the students have now been washed away with utter shock.
"Ugh! Why would you scare us like that?" The students of Class 1-A screamed.
"Seriously, I was ready to pull out my scissor blades and go slicing and dicing!" Ryuko angered.
"But still, it's the Sports Festival!" Mako excitedly.
"Let's go kick some ass!" Eijiro shouted.
"Wait a second." Denki said with shaving his hand onto the spiky red hair boy's face.
"Is it really such a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Kyoka asked.
"They could attack once we're all in the same place." Mashirao added with concern.
"Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever. Plus, they're beefing up security compared to the past years." Aizawa explained.
"(Beefing up security, sounds like they're gonna hire more Pro Heroes, maybe even my mom.)" Ryuko thought guessed that her mom could be joining or not.
"This event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA. It's not something we can cancel because of a few villains." Aizawa stated.
"Uh, I'm sorry, but why not? It's just a sports festival!" Minoru said, looking very scared.
"Mineta, don't you know how important this competition is?" Izuku asked the grape head boy.
"Of course, I do. I just don't wanna get murdered." Minoru said in fear.
"Our sports festival is one of the most-watched events in the entire world. In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic games, but then Quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympic have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters. The UA Sports Festival." Aizawa explained.
"I remember watching most of the festival in TV with my family and they were the wildest time to see!" Mako smiled.
"And how you're going to compete in one." Toru pointed out.
"Oh my God! You're right!" Mako realized in shock.
"That's right. And top heroes everywhere will be watching. This is where you get scouted." Momo said with a strong look on her face.
"Sure, unless you're dead." Minoru gulped.
"Wait, doesn't this also help you with getting into a good agency?" Ryuko asked, trying to remember if she has gotten that right.
"Totally! After graduating, a lot of people join pro agency as a sidekick to start up their hero careers." Denki explained, sounding a little smart just now.
"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go. They miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks." Kyoka pointed out how some heroes ended up staying in the sidekick position.
"Actually, that's probably where you're headed. You're kinda dumb." Kyoka stated which really hurts Denki right in the heart.
"It's true that joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity. That's why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open the path for you." Aizawa stated all of this.
"Once chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not lack off on your training." Aizawa said.
"Yes, sir." The students nodded.
"Class dismissed."
Izuku started doing some thinking about what everyone just said and how he could make himself known in the sports festival.
(Lunchtime)
Before the students could go to lunch, they are talking about how excited they are about the upcoming UA Sports Festival and wondering how they are going to stand out along with how they'll show them how useful their Quirks are.
Ryuko looks over to Izuku and walked over to him.
"Yo, feeling nervous about the festival?" Ryuko asked.
"Yeah, just look how excited everybody is. Is like they've been waiting for this their entire life." Izuku pointed out.
"Well, yeah, of course we are! We enrolled into this school with the sole aim to become heroes! So naturally, we're all getting fired up!" Tenya said while swaying his hips a little.
"Wow, Iida, those are some interesting moves. Ribbit." Tsuyu commented.
"You have to be excited too, right, Midoriya?" Tenya asked.
Before Izuku could answer that question, Mako steps in.
"Of course, Izuku is excited about the sports festival! It's his biggest dream to one day be a hero! Way, way, way, WAAAAY more than any of us have ever dreamt of together!" Mako believed.
"He has the brain to know everything from just seeing them at first glance! He has the power to blow everyone away with a punch while yelling "SMASH!" just like All Might! He's the combination of awesomeness!" Mako believed strongly.
"Sure, he can be awkward sometimes and get nervous too! But in the end, he always pulls through and would even go into danger to protect those he loves like any hero would do!" Mako declared strongly.
"Huh, thank you, Mako." Izuku thanked.
"In a way, she's right, you are awesome." Ryuko agreed.
"Deku! Iida! Ryuko! Mako!" Ochaco talked in a deep tone.
The four friends turn to their friend only to become shock of how suddenly Ochaco look very fierce like a predator animal or a mighty warrior on the battlefield out for some blood.
"Let's do our best in the sports festival." Ochaco said deep again.
"Ochaco, what happened to your face?" Izuku asked, feeling a bit scared.
"Seriously, what's up? You're normally, like, the most laid back girl ever." Mina asked, wondering what has gotten into this girl.
"No shit, it's like you just came back from Hell!" Ryuko commented shock.
Minoru was about to say something perverted and gross, so Tsuyu slapped him on the face with her tongue to stop that from happening.
"Ochaco, did you watch a violent horror movie?" Tsuyu asked.
"Everyone! I'm gonn do my best!" Ochaco shouted with her fist in the air and determination, this got the four classmates to cheer "Yeah" for her.
Then Ochaco turn to the other classmates with the same fierce look.
"I said, I'm gonna do my best!" Ochaco shouted which got the boys to nervously raise their fists too.
"You okay? You kind look like you're losin' it." Eijiro asked concern.
"Man, it's like the sports festival has suddenly changed her. I wonder what's up?" Ryuko asked.
"Maybe she ate something that makes her feel super energize." Mako guessed while eating her lunch.
"(Now that I think about it. There's something I've been meaning to ask her.)" Izuku thought believed this would be a good time to ask her.
Izuku, Tenya, Ochaco, Ryuko, and Mako walk together for the cafeteria as the Deku dragon boy decided to ask Ochaco this question.
"Hey, Ochaco?" Izuku said.
"What's up?" Ochaco responded.
"Why did you decide to come to UA? What made you wanna be a pro hero?" Izuku asked the question. This causes Ochaco to flinch a bit and her cheeks are blushing a tiny bit.
"Are you having a fever? Your face is a little red." Mako noticed the red color on her cheeks.
"No, no, it's nothing like that! It's because…" Ochaco felt a little worry about telling her friends this, but decided to tell them since they are her friends.
"For the money." Ochaco revealed.
"F… For the money? You wanna be a hero so you can get rich?" Izuku surprised to hear that coming from such a nice girl like Ochaco.
"If we're cutting to the chase, then yeah." Ochaco said, rubbing the back of her head.
"Is being greedy a bad thing for a hero?" Mako asked.
"I'm sorry about that! You three have such admirable motivations. I hope you don't think less of me now." Ochaco felt ashamed of having good friends while being greedy for some cash.
"It's fine, you must have your reason and it's cool." Ryuko said.
"She is correct. Your goal is to support your wellbeing which is a perfectly admirable ambition to have." Tenya pointed out that some have to look out for themselves.
"Yeah, it just kind of surprising." Izuku nodded.
"Well, you see, my family owns a construction company, but we haven't gotten any work lately, so we're flat broke. Anyway, this isn't really something I usually tell other people, but…" Ochaco explained the reason for her goal.
"Construction, eh?" Tenya does some thinking on this.
"If she got licensed, I bet she could use her Quirk to bring costs down a lot." Izuku figured that out.
"And they could sell their heavy-lifting equipment. She could float everything." Tenya added this.
"That means she can help her family's company big time!" Ryuko smiled.
"I know, right? I've been telling Dad that since I was a kid!" Ochaco said, glad to see her friends agreeing with her.
"But…" Ochaco started to explain what her dad said back then.
(Flashback)
"You want to work for us?" Ochaco's dad asked surprise.
"When I grow up all big and strong, I'll help you and Mommy out any way that I can." Little Ochaco expressed her goal for her parents with tears on the verge of coming down.
Ochaco's dad smile that his daughter wants to help them that much.
"I really appreciate the thought, Ochaco. But as your dad, I'd be even happier if you achieved your dream. That's the way to make us happy and if you do make money, you can take us to Hawaii or something!" Ochaco's Dad smiled.
"Daddy…" Ochaco clutched onto her skirt.
(Flashback End)
"I'm gonna become a hero. I'll sign with a good agency and make plenty of money. Then I'll be able to let my parents have an easy life!" Ochaco determined to see this goal through to the end.
This causes Tenya, Izuku, and Tsuyu to gasp upon hearing how Ochaco wants to become a hero for money, yet the money isn't for herself, it's for her parents to have a better life than the struggling ones they have to go through. And they can see the fire in her eyes.
"Oh, beautiful! How noble! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!" Tenya clapped his hands, mood by Ochaco's noble goal.
"Damn, I think you outdid us in being ambitious!" Ryuko chuckled.
"That was so beautiful! I love you even more now! You're the greatest best friend beside Ryuko I ever have!" Mako cried and hug tightly onto Ochaco.
"(She's not here because of some hero fantasy. She's more grounded than any of us.)" Izuku thought amazed of how amazing Ochaco of caring for others.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
This here is one of the good chapters I like to write like how Ochaco is setting her sights on becoming a hero for her parents and to help them live an easy life, and it's interesting of how Ryuko and Izuku are acting toward each other a little. Bet that'll grow a little more.
KO comment, favorite, and follow through of how this story will go!
