Waking up to the sound of Emolga shouting in my ear was not my preferred method, but that's what I had to deal with, her smirking when she succeeded, only to pout when I accidentally smacked her on the top of her head like she were my alarm clock, her getting annoyed after.

"Hey! Why'd you hit me?" she asked in annoyance.

"Sorry, I thought you were my alarm clock," I said to her with the mind machine, her frowning after. "It's just automatic, again, I'm sorry... let's get going," I groaned as we then went up to the main area and saw that the other members were gone aside from Joel, him smiling at me.

"Good morning, Beth! You recall your mission I have you yesterday, right?" he asked.

"Yes, go to Lapras, ask for ride, go to Summalant," I said, me frowning after and trying my hardest to say it right. "Summora... Summerlad... UGH! Sum...mer...land... there, finally," I frowned.

"Keep at it, it'll get better," he said, me nodding as I then went out, but not before grabbing some breakfast for myself and Emolga. I had scrambled eggs (which they had to explain were provided by willing Combusken farms, as the bird Pokemon laid more eggs than any others) while Emolga had a piece of buttered toast and two pieces of bacon (grown in the ground... like most meats in Pokemon... yeah, figure that one out). After this, we then went out to the south towards the harbor, us then going to the south and then hearing the Lapras guy shout in fear.

"HELP! My Lapras is in trouble!" he shouted, me and Emolga rushing in and seeing that said Lapras was being attacked by a Krabby and a Mareanie, me running in and immediately speaking to them in their minds.

"Guys, what's the issue? And why take it out on Lapras?" I asked, the Mareanie growling at me.

"That punk stepped on my Krabby friend, so now I'm going to hurt his friend!" Mareanie said with anger in his voice.

"Two wrongs don't make a right, Mareanie. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be intentional, right?" I frowned, Krabby frowning at me and speaking.

"He stepped on me and it really hurt!" he growled.

"But did he do it with force? Or did he shortly realize that he did so and look sorry?" I asked, Krabby looking at the man and seeing his concern, before then looking at Mareanie.

"I uh... Mareanie, let's get going. If he did mean to, I'd have been squished," Krabby said, the Mareanie frowning at him.

"Peh, yer getting soft, Krabby," the poisonous starfish complained as the duo then walked to the left and looked at me. "Make sure he watches where he steps. Especially with me."

"I'll make sure he gets the memo," I sighed, the duo then jumping back into the water and for the Lapras and his owner to look at me in surprise.

"Whoa... you spoke to them, didn't you?" the guy asked, me nodding. "Heh, I didn't think there were others that could talk to Pokemon like I can. But I guess it makes more sense when I see you're a mix of human and Pokemon."

"It's more that I speak in mind of Poke mon. Doesn't work on hooman," I frowned.

"Still, I'm grateful you saved me and my Lapras. Go on, say thank you, buddy," the man smiled, me smiling as the Lapras spoke.

"Thanks for saving us. He accidentally stepped on the Krabby, but even though he realized what happened, he lost his balance after and tripped over it. If he were a few inches closer, he would've gotten poisoned by the Mareanie. They went after me because I tried to diffuse the situation... I'm thankful that you assisted," Lapras smiled, me nodding at him. "If there's anything we can do to repay you, we will do it."

"I'd actually like it if I could hitch a ride to Summerland on your back with Emolga, please? I have a special assignment to go there for Ranger business," I said, him nodding.

"Is that all? That'd be easy. I'll allow one more thing after this, if you want," he admitted, me nodding at that as we then boarded on his seashell back. And though it was rather bumpy, it was quite a pleasant ride across the ocean waters to Summerland. And on the way, I decided to ask my question to the Lapras.

"Maybe you can answer a dumb question. Do some Pokemon eat other Pokemon? And if so, do they eat them whole?" I asked, Lapras looking at me with a smile.

"Yes, and yes, but the latter is only if the one who is eating the other is much larger than the prey. Of course, I'd never eat any Pokemon, I have standards," he said with a smirk. "Why ask such a question?"

"I was just wondering, in case I'd get into a situation where I'd have to rescue someone from getting eaten whole," I said, Lapras nodding at me... and then I kept talking. "And, also, I overheard some of Emolga's thoughts before we fell asleep and saw she was dreaming of getting eaten and giving internal belly rubs," I said, Emolga gasping and then grabbing my hair and pulling at it. And it really hurt a lot!

"Don't spill the secret! It's super embarrassing, so don't yak about it, ya punk!" she complained to me, me then grabbing her after.

"Okay, okay, I get it, you can stop! I was just asking in case you wanted to experience it for real," I said, which Emolga then gasped at and blushed at after.

"O-Oh... um... you'd let me do that?" she asked, me nodding. "Maybe Lapras could eat me during downtime? Just for the funsies?" Emolga smiled at Lapras.

"If you'd like, I could consider that as part two of my gratitude, but at nighttime and I'd like to try it with you as well. Your name is Beth, right?" he asked, me being surprised that he'd try it with me at the same time, but I then blushed at the thought.

"Okay, but only after the Go-Rock issue is dealt with. We need to find out where Gruntilda is, because she's super dangerous," I frowned.

"How so? You mean you know who the boss is?" Emolga asked.

"I do, but the reason is super complicated. I'll explain to you in private when we get to the Ranger Base, and you will not share the information with anyone. It's super secret and needs to stay that way," I sighed.

"I'll keep it secret if it's super serious like that. Especially since you haven't told anyone about that. It might be a dangerous thing to tell others, if that were the case," Emolga stated.

"You not know the half of it," Magearna said with my mind machine, me smiling at her. I then explained everything to Emolga after Lapras had us arrive at Summerland, about how I was from a universe that had seen this world and many others via video games and that Gruntilda was from a world where everything was alive and had googly eyes. And no pokemon.

"Wow... so Gruntilda isn't from here, then? How dangerous was she in her original world?" Emolga asked.

"She's dangerous enough to be able to create monstrous machines, cast curses, kill people with powerful magic blasts, and even morph your body into something else. But I have no clue if she'll be in this world... but I do know she was able to survive as nothing but a skull, so I don't know what she'll look like... but whatever it is, she'll be ugly," I admitted to her.

"I see... I agree, that does sound like a big secret. So who was the boss of the bad guys supposed to be?"

"Gordor, him being the father of the Quads, which were the silver-haired teens we encountered in both the cave and the sewers," I explained.

"Maybe we should tell that to the leaders or something? Maybe they could give him some protection?" Emolga asked.

"He's quite a stubborn man, but I'm sure we can do that," I said as I then gave the message to Spenser about my arrival to Summerland's ranger base, while also then giving a message to Joel that I'd found out from the Lapras that Gruntilda was holding someone hostage, that being a man called Gordor. Only downside, I didn't know the location," I said, me then getting the message from Joel as I entered the base.

"We actually got a visitor to the Ranger Base from a man called Gordor just a few minutes ago. I'll go ahead and try to find him again. He was requesting that we help find his children, but only described them as being gray-haired teens," Joel explained, before then speaking. "Wait... his children are the Quads, aren't they? Dammit, why wasn't I thinking right?! I'll get him immediately, then! He might know some secrets about the squad!" he said, me frowning at that.

"Treat him gently, he's very old," I said in my next message as I looked around the base and saw that the leader wasn't around.

"Oh, are you the one that came from Ringtown? I can tell because of the Pokemon parts," said the orange-haired member, me nodding at him. "I'm Henry, and this is Percy," he smiled as he pointed to the blonde man.

"And this is Politoed, my beloved partner. Go on, say hi," Percy smirked at his croaking friend.

"Heya, welcome to Summerland," he smiled at me.

"Nice to be here," I smirked back.

"No way, you can speak Pokemon?" Percy gawked.

"Yes, part Poke mon, after all," I smirked. "Where's leader?"

"Oh, he's currently out doing something. I'll go try to find him for you," Percy smirked as he and his Politoed left the base and I looked at Henry with a smile.

"Our leader is very strong and confident, but he's probably one of the laziest ranger leaders in existence. Most likely chance is that he's at the ocean Capture Challenge, catching Pokemon on a fan boat," he said, me then seeing the guy come in, him wiping his brow with a rag.

"Ah, what a great day! My record is still undefeated," he said, me not being surprised at all that he had a surfer dude voice. "Oh, a Ringtown Ranger? You're the one that was mixed with a Magearna, aren't you?" I could only nod at him.

"Yes, I am. Name is Beth," I smiled.

"Yeah, and I'm Cameron... Ya see, I was told you were here to help with that Go Rock stuff or whatever? But this island hasn't seen hide nor tail of anyone fitting those descriptions... you don't really need to worry about it," Cameron said before Percy then came rushing through, but no Politoed in sight and his eyes coated in tears.

"I NEED HELP!" he shouted in concern. "I-I was going through the jungle, and then I saw this weird guy with a tacky outfit! He had a weird Styler on him and... he somehow caught my Politoed! I called out to him, but he wouldn't come back! HELP ME!" Percy cried out, me nodding at that.

"Permiss to rescue Polatoady?" I asked, Cameron nodding at me.

"Permission granted. Find and rescue Politoed and try to find out what in the world those punks are doing in our paradise," Cameron said, me nodding as I then did my ranger pose and rushed into the jungle alongside Emolga, me then proceeding to capture a Treecko and a Wurmple before we then went up the vine wall and saw the silver haired guys and gal of the hour.

"Pokemon a go-go!" they all shouted before Garrett did his bit.

"Even if you're running, stop in your tracks!" followed by his cool base solo.

"Open your ears to our melodic attacks!" Tiffany smirked in rhyme before then doing her violin solo.

'The rhythm of rage pounds the ground!" Clyde smirked before then pounding on his special djenge drum.

"Ambition rises with awesome sound!" Billy said before then doing a guitar solo, me frowning at how he changed it, but considering he was now working for Gruntilda, the master of rhymes, that made some sense.

"Don't know our names, we'll share it in rhyme!

Billy! Garret! Clyde! Tiffany!

Ready for the music? Don't be afraid!

The Go Rock Quads are here to play!" they shouted before doing their entire bit together, me frowning at them and speaking with the mind machine.

"Let me guess. You were forced to make it rhyme by an annoying boss, right?" I asked, the quartet then gasping at that before looking at each other.

"How... how did you know?" Billy asked.

"How about I'll let you know, but only if you can tell me where that Politoed you stole is at?" I frowned, that making the four growl at me.

"Yeah, as if! We need to test our our Super Styler, and if you interfered, then we'd be in massive trouble!" Tiffany growled.

"Tough talk for an old lady," I said, which made the youngest sibling gawk at me before getting fumes over her head.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!" Tiffany shouted.

"Just calling the silver hair where I see it," I smirked with my mouth for a change, smirking at how I said it perfectly.

"That tears it! When we see each other again, you're going down! Down, down, down!" she snarled in a rage before then rushing off down the path to the west, me then simply following after the three others and them to look at me and Emolga in anger.

"Don't follow us! We're on a business venture, here!" Billy frowned at me.

"And I'm on rescue mission. And we're going same direc-shon," I frowned, speaking incorrectly unintentionally, but the four didn't notice.

We eventually saw the Go-Rock Squad member that had stolen the Politoed and I then rushed ahead of the group, holding Emolga in my arms so that I wouldn't get her captured by the Go-Rock Quads and then, while the member was completely distracted by going through the jungle, I tackled him to the ground and then, afterwards, I then cuffed the guy!

"GAAAUGH! What the heck?! Who are you?!" he asked, me then simply using the Styler to catch the stolen Politoed. And after I did so without much trouble (aside from the froggy jumping into the line a couple times), I then smirked at how he then hopped all the way back towards the town!

"Ranger, and you are under arrest," I said with my mouth, Emolga then growling at how the Quads then appeared with a group of other squad members and I saw that they also had some Pokemon caught, which included a Grovyle, a Heracross, and a Beautifly.

"You're not getting out of this jungle with another captive! Taste our new partners on for size!" said one of the Squad members as they then sent out their newly caught Pokemon at me and I then proceeded to capture them one at a time. I started with Grovyle, managing to catch him by using Wurmple's assist to stop him in place. And after I caught the Grovyle, I then caught the Heracross and Beautifly at the same time, me smirking at how my Styler had since leveled up to level 10, me then seeing the three Pokemon run off in an instant and for the opposing side to have a broken Super Styler each.

"You... We're not going to forget this! AUGH!" shouted one of them as the two regular lackeys ran off and the other four then frowned.

"Hmph! So it seems that if a Ranger captures anything with their regular Stylers, it automatically releases the Pokemon caught with the Super Styler... could it be due to a Ranger's sense of justice?" Billy asked.

"Yes, and also because you guys have no gumption, pride, or empathy," I frowned at them via mind translator, which the four then looked at me in anger after.

"Who asked you?! And we demand that you let our lackey go!" Clyde growled at me.

"Fine, but only if you can tell me one thing," I frowned before then asking one question, which needed an answer. "Why is Gruntilda Winkybunion your boss?" I asked, the four then gawking before then looking at each other.

"W-Who told you that?... B-But if you want to know, it's because she caught our original boss and said that, if we don't do as she says, then she'll shrink him down and kick him when he's only 5 inches tall!" Tiffany said, me frowning at her.

"But if she found out we told you that, we'd be dead meat. This information does NOT get repeated, you got that?" Billy frowned.

"You have my word. Now, take your trash and get out of Summerland," I frowned as I then picked up the Go-Rock member and tossed him towards the quartet, them then seeing that the cuffs were still on him. "As for the cuffs? I have plenty of spares, so you deal with getting them off," I smirked, them frowning at me.

"I hate you. You've made an enemy of the Quads today, and we do not let our enemies survive," Garrett frowned at us.

"And I suggest you get some hair dye and wrinkle cream," I said, that making Tiffany gasp before I continued. "The dye is for you, the cream is for your boss. Trust me, she needs it," I frowned.

"O-Oh... hmph!" and with that final scoff, all of them ran off once again, me then heading back myself towards town and seeing that Percy was since reunited with his Politoed and they were currently snuggling happily.

"Whatever you did, it did the trick! Politoed just hopped into my arms like nothing ever happened! I'm never letting him out of my sight again!" Percy smiled, me nodding at that.

"Mission complete!" Emolga smiled for me as I then went back to the base and, when I did, Cameron smiled at me.

"I heard all about it from Percy, how you managed to save Politoed from harm. Is there anythign else to note from what happened?" he asked.

"Yes. The Go-Rock Squad have been using a slightly upgraded version of the Super Styler, which can apparently catch even Partner Pokemon of Rangers, and heck, who knows, maybe even Pokemon owned by Trainers in Pokeballs! But if they are then captured with a Ranger's Styler, then not only are said Pokemon released back to where they last were, but their Super Styler will actually break apart at the same time," I said. "And one other thing. There are four generals of the group that call themselves the Go-Rock Quads, each having an instrument of some kind and each having silver hair and young looks. They tried to stop me in there, but I wouldn't budge and got them to fess up that Gruntilda is, indeed, their boss. And she apparently has magic powers," I said, which made Cameron look surprised.

"Magic powers? What do you mean by that? You mean like card tricks and making a Buneary come out of a hat?" he asked.

"More like being able to shrink people, curse others, and make fireballs in her hands," I frowned.

"That is problematic... no doubt she's forcing them into this... regardless, I've been told that Joel needs you back in Fall City, so I'd recommend heading out immediately," Cameron said, me nodding as I then headed off to the south and to Lapras, me then asking him if I could go back to Fall City, and Lapras nodded at me, us then going across the ocean again, but Emolga then looked at Lapras with a smile.

"Hey, Lapras? Just to ask, can you have me in your mouth so you can see how I taste?" she asked.

"Sure, but do get out before we reach the city?" Lapras requested, me then sighing as Emolga then did so and, after staying in there for about two minutes, Lapras spat her out and Emolga then had to wash off in the sea before then going to my shoulder again. "So you know, you tasted very good."

"Yay! I hope I can feel good inside you, too," Emolga smirked widely.

"You're lucky that Lapras are herbivores, or else I'd probably digest you along with the sea grass I tend to eat," he admitted, me smirking and blushing at that, but also imagining what might happen if I would get eaten... but then, I got spoken to by Magearna.

"That's just silly... Steel types no digest," she said, me smirking at that. "But you weird, wanting eaten."

"Yeah? Well, I've always been weird, bunny girl. It's in my blood. And now that everyone in my family is mixed with a Mythical Pokemon, I'd say we're even weirder," I smiled at her. We then finally arrived back at the docks and, after I got off of Lapras's back, I then proceeded to give the message to Joel that I was on my way to the Ranger Base, me then going there, but not before grabbing a bit of lunch in the form of a grilled cheese sandwich from one of the various shops in town, me eating it on the way in while also giving a few bites to Emolga.

"Mmm... new favorite food," she smirked at it.

"Next time, we should try it with tomato soup. It'll taste even better then, trust me," I smirked at her.

"Yay!" Emolga giggled as we entered the base and saw that Joel was alongside the family members from the sewer escape, him then smiling at me.

"Nice to see you, Beth and Emolga. We've actually learned of one of the plans of the Go-Rock Squad from these three here," Joel explained, as Hank then started to talk.

"They plan to try and find a Legendary Pokemon to test their Super Styler on, to see if it would work at capturing even a Pokemon that powerful. We heard reports in legends that there's one in the Krokka Tunnels, so they proceeded to make a lot of rockfalls to block the caves off from foot traffic. Get rid of the rock falls, and they'll be forced to evacuate," he explained, me nodding at that.

"Just asking, but what legendary is rumored to be in the cave?" I asked them.

"From what we heard, it may be a Registeel, but no one has really found it yet," Joel admitted.

"Got it, go to caves, destroy rockfalls, get paid," I smirked with my mouth.

"Uh, sure, but you are joking about the paid part, right?" Joel asked.

"Yes, I am. I know how my money works as Ranger," I chuckled back. It was simply that I got paid every week via taxes and donations from the Ranger Union, and my salary was 50 dollars a day, and upping my rank also added onto my salary of five dollars for each rank up. So my max rank, that being 10, would net me with 100 dollars a day for a maximum of 700 a week. Not a bad deal, all things considered.
