Six months later

"It was a lovely wedding, Dave," Samira told him. "I never expected to have so many people at my wedding ceremony when I finally got married sometime down the road."

"This was the only wedding you were ever going to be part of as the bride, so I wanted it done the way you wanted," Dave said. "I wanted the day to be special so that we'll always remember it."

The two of them were sitting now on the balcony at the hotel in Italy. The wedding had been lovely and there must've been 2000 people there to see her and Dave marry. Most of the people she had met had been genuinely happy for them or Dave anyway. There had been a receiving line and it had seemed to last forever as she shook the hand of numerous people who Dave did business with. Dave introduced her to the director that had directed that movie blockbuster that she had been at the private showing for as Dave's plus one.

"My parents were so happy for us and they really like you, which is a good thing," Samira said.

"I like your parents as they genuinely care about your welfare," Dave commented even as he sipped his wine. "If you knew how many parents tried to force their children to be what they wanted them to be instead of letting them develop their own personalities and interest you'd be amazed. Some parents just don't know how to let their children grow up and dislike to whatever boyfriend or girlfriend they get involved with. It doesn't matter if there is nothing wrong in their background one parent can take a dislike to that person just because they don't want their child to have a life.

"I've seen probably thousands of times in my long life where one parent tries to force their child to choose between them or their boyfriend or girlfriend."

"I bet you I know how that turned out," Samira said she to took a sip of her wine. "My parents after all chose each other, despite by parental grandparents wishes. My father forgave his parents a long time ago but the reverse isn't true."

"But your father still hasn't tried to heal the rift," Dave mentioned.

"I think my dad feels that his father should be the one to make the first move towards a reconciliation," Samira said. "He's the one that caused the rift by trying to force dad to marry some girl that came from a better family then my mother."

"I don't know why parents, even try to arrange marriages anymore," Dave said shaking his head sadly. "I could understand it centuries ago when the world was less populated but not now in this advanced time. Anyway, it doesn't matter, your parents were genuinely pleased that you had found someone who loves you and that you love to and that's really all that matters. Your parents and any of your family will always be welcome in our home. I know your parents will look forward to any children we have."

"Mom's already said she's looking forward to grandchildren," Samira said with a smirk. "That's her way of subtly hinting that she'd like some right away. If I get pregnant on our honeymoon she'll be overjoyed. Both my older siblings are married so she already has grandchildren but apparently she wants them from all her children."

"Well, I've stopped using a condom months ago and you're now immortal so it's very possible you will end up pregnant before we go home. I won't mind that at all, just so you're aware."

"Neither will I. I've always imagined having at least five or six. I have nine siblings after all so I'm used to having large family," Samira said.

"Oh, we'll have more than that over the centuries, but five or six this time around sounds wonderful at least to start out with," Dave said. "I'm sure some people will wonder why we had more than an heir and the proverbial spare but I don't really care."

"We might only have girls you know for the first few pregnancies," Samira mentioned. "I know some women have three or four girls before they finally get the son that the husband wants."

"The opposite is also true," Dave's snorted in amusement. "I agree with you on that. While you never know what the sex is until you go to the doctor some people just have all girls or all boys, even if they have a dozen."

"They then give up on getting the other sex," Samira said. "I can't really blame them if they do as having so many back to back would wear out any woman and there's also such concerns as money and space. Six sounds about right at least until we go somewhere else in 150 years. I'm only 30 so I should be able to have that many with no problem."

"We might as well get started on those children, don't you think?" Dave grinned adorably at her and Samira smiled back.

"You just want to have your way with me Mister," Samira told him teasingly.

"What can I say? I will never get enough of your body not far as long as I live," Dave told her quite seriously, even as he started kissing her breasts.

"The same is true for me," Samira giggled, as she allowed Dave access to her naked body their wine forgotten.

All they cared about at the moment was each other.

~~~Dave and Samira~~~
"The honeymoon was wonderful," Samira told Emily as she sat on the couch and Emily's apartment. She had let her own apartment go with no regrets whatsoever.
Dave and her had been gone for a month and visited several cities in several different countries. Samira who had never been out of the country before Dave had taken a hand anyway had really enjoyed herself,
She and Dave had just gotten back a couple of days ago and both had caught up on their sleep from the jetlag.
"Of course you did. Alone with a handsome guy like that," Emily said.
"Well there were a couple problems, but nothing major," Samira said pursing her lips.
"What type of problems?" Emily asked.
"The female type," Samira answered with a grimace.
"Well, it was bound to happen," Emily said sympathetically. "Unmarried woman who don't want to accept that Dave is off the market as the saying goes."
"But to do it right in front of me is just rude," Samira said. "There was one woman in Italy and we were touring the sites that flirted with Dave not caring that I was right there. Dave shut her down fast, so that wasn't a problem, but he finally had to threaten to sue her to get her off his back. She even put a hand possessively on his arm as he was standing beside me. That was when he threatened to sue her."
"Well, she doesn't seem too intelligent," Emily said as she listened to her friend's tale.
"Dave told me that she was a model that they had briefly dated years ago but they had parted ways a long time ago," Samira said.
"Apparently, she still has lingering feelings for him," Emily said.
"More likely she's possessive and didn't want to break up with him in the first place. She seems like the type that doesn't care that he's married now. She wants what she wants. To do it right in front of his new bride shows a certain lack of appreciating boundaries."
"You don't doubt Dave's love for you do you," Emily asked worriedly.
Samira shook her head.
"No, it wasn't Dave's fault that this model pays no attention to personal boundaries," Samira said. "Dave has more than demonstrated that he loves me and only me."
"Well, I'm glad to see you've gotten over your doubts about your relationship with the world's riches man," Emily said finally smiling. Her friend was practically glowing in contentment and happiness.
"I just couldn't understand why Dave didn't marry some society lady, even though he explained it to me at least half a dozen times. Still, I understand his point of view. Why marry some woman with no goals and no work ethic who will probably sit on her butt and just spend his money. Someone who probably wouldn't even help raise the kids when they come. Someone he would probably end up at least disliking if he didn't outright hate them by the end. He doesn't want a trophy wife. He wants somebody with a decent work ethic who will get out and do things other then spend money."
"I can understand that," Emily said.
"So can I," Samira agreed. "You know how I was raised to have a decent work ethic."
Samira didn't tell Emily the real reason Dave didn't want a trophy wife. Of course the reasons she had stated were also correct just not the main one. She couldn't tell Emily about the immortality though, so just told her the other reasons that Dave wanted a real wife not a trophy.
"So what about your job?" Emily asked.
"Oh, I'm keeping it at least for now," Samira said. "Dave doesn't mind if I work, which is one of the reasons I love him so much. For one thing it gets me out of the house on a regular basis and allows him to conduct business without having me underfoot."
"That's good I know you mostly enjoy it," Emily said.
"Yes, I do, though I'll probably quit once the kids start coming along," Samira said.
"Dave can afford to hire a nanny though, even several nannies if necessary," Emily said.
"I know and I'm grateful for that, as I remember several of my younger siblings going through the messy pooing and peeing stage when they were born," Samira said grimacing. "I well remember the smell of my siblings poo and how it got all over my mother's hands when she was changing them. I was about 10 when the last of them was born."
"I suppose I can't blame you for that," Emily said laughing at Samira's description, "though I've never had a kid."
"I know you want one now or even several," Samira said.
"Yeah, I do, but I requires a man I'm afraid and I'm having about as much luck in the dating arena that you did before you met Dave."
"Which means essentially none," Samira said feeling really sympathetic.
"Basically yeah, every guy I date turns out to be a dud," Emily said. "So how many kids do you and Dave want?"
"We talked about having a half a dozen. Dave is an only child and I come from a large family so I certainly don't mind," Samira said. "We'll see how it goes."
Samira didn't tell Emily that she couldn't die in childbirth, because she was now immortal like Dave. Her mother had had 10 babies and had certainly come out of each birth just fine so she wasn't worried about herself. Birth might be a messy, painful process but then they got a cute little baby at the end so it was worth it.
"That sounds like a lot," Emily said a little enviously.
"You have to remember the large family I come from," Samira reminded Emily.
"It isn't that," Emily said. "I'm just envious that you have found the perfect guy and are already planning on starting a family."
"I understand," Samira said. "I might even be pregnant now, as it's not like I was on birth control when we were on our honeymoon, but if I am it's too soon to tell. I made sure my birth control was out of my system just before Dave and I got married."
"You make sure you tell me immediately once you know," Emily ordered.
"I will," Samira agreed smiling.
"I'm glad to see you so happy with Dave I wish you and him many congratulations," Emily said. "Your wedding was beautiful by the way. It was the perfect day."
"Yes, it was," Samira said grinning goofily.
Emily simply smiled softly at her friend's rather goofy expression, but then she could understand because she knew Samira was happy. Now if only she could find someone for herself life would be good.
"You're welcome to come to dinner sometime," Samira said. "I'll see when we're free and contact you."
"That sounds good," Emily said.
~~~Dave and Samira~~~

"So you're pregnant," Dave asked excitement gleaming in his dark eyes.

It was over two weeks after they had gotten back from their honeymoon and Samira had bought a pregnancy test when she been out of the house a few days ago.

"We both knew it was a strong possibility," Samira said. "I was immortal before the wedding so it probably happened within a couple of days when we were on our honeymoon."

"We'll have a doctor examine you," Dave said. "They can tell us how far along you are. It can be done right here at home and you won't need to go into the office."

"The doctor will need certain equipment," Samira said.

"I can arrange all the equipment," Dave said waving a hand in dismissal. "I happen to own a medical supply company. Everything the doctor needs I can have it delivered unless you want to go to the doctors office and wait on them to see you. Doing so can take anywhere from less to an hour to several hours, even when you have an appointment. Doctors are notoriously slow and have a lot of patients. Who wants to waste half the day in some doctors office?"

Samira thought about it, but knew that Dave was right it could take anywhere from an hour to several.

"Doing it here sounds easier and probably faster," Samira decided. "A pregnancy test can only tell you so much. I'm probably at least a month along, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's six weeks and I got pregnant on our wedding night."

"Well, I suppose we'll see," Dave said. "I'm really excited about this. This will be our first child with many more in the future."

"Yes, absolutely. I'm really looking forward to it to," Samira said kissing Dave softly. "Emily will be really excited for us. She's been looking forward to our announcement."

"This might even help get some of the ladies off my back that think I'll sleep with them, even though I'm married. They have no personal boundaries and don't care that I am no longer single, but when our child is born it will be different. It'll mean that I'm not gonna divorce you just to marry one of them no matter what they want. They might back off then.

"I hope so, because I know it annoys you," Samira said. "I'm just glad I'm not around most the time to see the ladies throw themselves at you figuratively of course. That model on our honeymoon was bad enough and that I was standing right there when she came on so strongly was maddening."

"Our marriage is well-known and the ones with ethics won't come after me but those without are a totally different story," Dave said. "I'll deal with it if they go too far."

"You would think that those women would realize that you aren't going to sleep with them now that you're married," Samira said.

"They think I'll divorce you in order to be with them or at least cheat on you. They never consider the fact that I never would have married you if I didn't love you or the fact, that I can sue their asses off if they keep on annoying me. Having money can be very useful and I have a whole bevy of lawyers that will make the consequences clear if they persist. These women have absolutely no morals and no ethics, but they're also not stupid. I can bring more trouble to them and their family's door then they can handle if I am so inclined."

"You'd be so inclined if they don't start leaving you alone," Samira offered.

"Yes," Dave said simply. "To them you're a nobody, with no class and no money. They don't understand how I could've fallen in love with you. You definitely don't have their breeding and they think that should matter when it really doesn't, not in the long run."

"I'm sure they believe that I used my womanly wiles on you to get you to marry me," Samira said with laughter in her voice.

"There are certain disadvantages to being in my position," Dave admitted with a wry smile. "If I didn't have as much money as I do then those women wouldn't care about enticing me or trying to anyway. I suppose that I didn't need to become so prominent socially. If I had money but didn't like to help people or buy businesses that were being badly mismanaged then those ladies probably never would've heard of me."

"It's going to make it harder for us to disappear you know when the time comes," Samira said quietly, as she rubbed her belly.

"You'd be amazed how different I look when I shave off my beard," Dave told her with a smile, but silently agreed with his wife. "If there's one thing I've learned in my long life is that most people don't look past the surface of things and I might resemble David Rossi, but if I change my hair color to brown and my eye color to something like blue than those people will most likely look past the similarities. It's only surface changes I know, but there's not much more we can do like plastic surgery, simply because we're immortal. As for you, if you dye your hair and change your eye color to brown or blue and perhaps change the style of your hair you'll look totally different. We don't need to worry about that right now though as that's many years away. We have time to have the six children we talked about and see them grow up and many more years after that before we need to worry about disappearing. We'll have time to see our great-great grandchildren grow up before that event. As for that problem we were just discussing we'll see what happens when people learn that you're pregnant with my child."

"I suppose I need to find me a doctor," Samira said dropping the subject that she and Dave had been discussing. "Someone who's willing to come here to do my exam."

"Don't you worry about that, as I know plenty of people and I have one doctor in particular in mind," Dave assured her.

"Of course you do," Samira told him with a knowing look. "I prefer a female doctor, so I hope who you have in mind is a woman."

"It is. I'm sure you'll like her," Dave said. "Her name is Pavlina Accrington and we've known each other for a long time."

"Unusual first name," Samira commented smirking. "I really don't have a right to comment though considering how unusual my first name is. I hope she's not one of the woman that has been chasing you."

"No, she's not," Dave chuckled. "I would never invite her into my home if she was. She's married happily and has five children herself. I'm sure you two will get along very well."

"Did she...?" Samira asked.

"Did we used to date?" Dave finished his wife sentence. "Is that what you were trying to ask but didn't want to upset me?"

"It's not my right to inquire about who you've dated and who you haven't," Samira said. "I know you're loyal to me now and that's all that matters. I'm not going to get jealous about your past relationships as that would be ridiculous."

"You can ask me anything and I'll answer it is honestly as I can. You're my mate and I will have no secrets from you. I'm not gonna get upset if you ask me about someone you believe I might have dated. In this case, your suspicions would be correct. Me and Pav did date for a few weeks but then we broke it off. She met the man that she fell in love with and I happened to introduce them. They've been married over 10 years and are very happy together."

"You're quite the matchmaker," Samira teased him relieved more then she let on.

"Not really," Dave shrugged nonchalantly. "Me and Pav's husband just happened to run into each other while I was dating Pav. She's a nice, intelligent and interesting woman, but I wasn't in love with her nor she with me. I was best man at their wedding. We've remained friends though."

"She doesn't seem like your usual woman," Samira said.

"You mean you think she's a regular person with no money or connections, but the truth is that she is, as her family is wealthy, though not as much as some of those women I dated over the years. She wanted to do something with her life other than get married and be seen on her husband arm at social functions. Unlike some females that have been spoiled into uselessness she broke away from her family a long time ago. She's not spoiled as some of those in my circle are, but still she was expected to marry and produce an heir and spare."

"Well, she did that," Samira remarked.

"She did, but not necessarily someone her father approved of," Dave smirked right along with his wife. "Her father eventually accepted her back into the family fold along with her husband and his grandchildren. He wanted her to marry someone else entirely, but she was too strong-willed to follow his wishes."

"Now there is a familiar story," Samira said.

"It's more common than you think in certain types of families," Dave said. "You already know that I was expected to marry some heiress or at least a female with a good breeding.

"I really want to meet your friend now after everything you've told me about her," Samira said.

"You will very soon," Dave promised. "I'll call her and I arrange an appointment for you to see her.

"That would be good," Samira agreed placidly.
