AG 1 was once again exploring a new world. They'd found an entrance to a cave, which seems to have a type of force field blocking it. Sheppard was poking at it as Xander was translating the inscription written in Ancient next it. Suddenly, he sucked in a breath as he realized what he was reading.

"Don't touch it!" He yelled, shoving Sheppard out of the way, unfortunately, he was in an awkward position, bent over and he stumbled and fell into the force field. With a cry of pain, he disappeared.

"What the Hell?!" Sheppard exclaimed.

"Don't touch it!" McKay also yelled, brainstorming a way to figure out what had happened. After a moment, he came up with an idea.

"Find me a stick."

Ronan held one out to him and McKay glared at him and said. "I said a stick, not a log."

Teyla managed not to roll her eyes and handed him one. McKay tied his camera on top of it and extended it into the force field. He counted briefly and pulled it back out. After making some quick calculations he came to a stunning conclusion.

"It's a time dilation field. Time's moving at a different rate on the other side of the force field. This is bad. Who knows how long it's been for him? We need to get back to Atlantis. Xander must have figured it out and tried to stop you from going in and fell in himself. We need a jumper and some equipment. Sheppard, you come with me since I'll need someone to fly it. You two, stay here In case he finds his way back out. Oh, throw your bags in, he'll need food."

Xander paced five steps to the left, turned and paced five steps back. He'd been in here for hours and nothing. He knew his team wouldn't leave him here, so that meant that they hadn't figured out how to get him out, yet. Then the bags came flying in. Goody, food and survival gear. Especially helpful, since he'd set his bag down beside him, while he'd worked on the translation.

Cordelia stood anxiously hovering as Elizabeth translated the inscription. The one that would explain what had happened to Xander.

"It's a Sanctuary. A place where any Ancients left behind by the evacuation could come for safety. They could also work to Ascend while in there. Entire lifetimes could pass and the Wraith would never know. But it's one way. Unless what's powering the time dilation field gets shut down, no one is coming out."

"Xander's stuck in there?!" Cordelia exclaimed.

"Just until I figure out how to shut it down." McKay said. "I just need to study it. Don't worry, I'll figure it out."

"Before he dies of old age?"

"Yes, of course, before he dies of old age. The difference isn't that big."

Cordelia glared at him. "Not my point! How long until I get him back?"

"From our point of view? Couple of hours, probably. From his, a few weeks, maybe months."

"Months?" Cordelia said, plaintively. "I hope there aren't any women in there. He gets hit on enough."

"It's true. He always looks so confused when it happens. Like he doesn't understand why they're hitting on him." Sheppard joked.

"He doesn't." Cordelia said. "Oh he's good looking, but it's not like he goes around encouraging anyone. So he never understands why it happens."

It had been several days now. He'd finished the food they'd sent thru to him, but more hadn't come. He was hungry and that meant leaving the cave. He needed a way to leave them a message. Since there was some light in the cave from cracks and holes in the ceiling, he cut his finger with his knife and touched it to the wall. When it dried, it was still visible. Knowing he'd heal quickly, Xander slashed open the palm of his hand and ignoring the pain, wrote out a message on the wall. Here six days. No food. Leaving cave on and put the date and time next to it. And then he headed out to find some food or maybe even people.

McKay extended his 'malp on a stick' as Sheppard had dubbed it into the field again and then quickly pulled it back out. He saw the message and made some more calculations. "He's left the cave. He left a message, he ran out of food. It looks like he's experiencing a week for every half hour we're out here. So at this point it's been over a month for him."

Xander had been walking for a few hours, when he heard a roaring sound and a scream, being the kind of person he was, he ran towards it instead of away. He saw some sort of shimmer in the air and a man running from it. He stepped between the man and the shimmer, trying to figure out what it was. It stopped and seemed to exam him in return and then disappeared.

"That's a new one." He said out loud. "You okay, man?" He the man, who nodded.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you. The Beast would have gotten me if you hadn't sent it away. How did you do that?"

"I have no idea, I've never seen anything like it."

"You're welcome to join us in the village. We knew you were coming. My sister sees the future. I know that may be hard to believe, but it's true and she had a vision of you coming. I came to meet you and show you the way."

"I've known people with abilities before. I could use a bite to eat."

As they walked, the man introduced himself as Arvid and Xander introduced himself as well. It didn't take long to reach the village and people came out to greet them. Arvid called out to one of them.

"Teer, I have brought the man from your vision." One of the women looked confused and then said. "Who are you? You are not who I expected to see."

Oh boy.
