A/N Okay, so this is the episode where we meet another McKay. I've decided to keep this au clean. Consequently, while auMcKay will know things about Xander and Cordelia, including things that they don't know about themselves, he will not be aware of the dimensional rifts or Hellmouths, depending on whether you want to be scientific or mystical, in your explanation. Also, you know Xander is not going to be able to resist sticking his nose in the McKay and Jeannie conflict. It's in his nature to try to help.

When McKay got called to Earth to see his sister, Xander could tell, his friend was afraid. He was worried that something was wrong with his sister. Finding out that she solved a problem, she didn't know he had with, as she put it, finger paints, put McKay in a grumpy mood. Hearing her tell embarrassing stories about McKay to his teammates wasn't making Xander very happy either. Jeannie noticed he wasn't laughing like the others and later asked if something was wrong. Checking to make sure no one was around, because he didn't want to embarrass her, himself, he said.

"I was just wondering why you only tell embarrassing stories about him. I also notice, you do it when you know he can hear you. You're hurting his feelings on purpose, I'd like to know why."

"I doubt he cares one way or another. It's not like he cared enough to stay in my life. I haven't seen him since I told him I was getting married and he attacked my then fiance for no reason."

"He had reason. He's your big brother and he was afraid the guy was taking advantage of you. He was afraid you were sacrificing your dreams to make him happy, not yourself. And you've made no effort to stay involved in his life either. The two of you need to have a conversation and clear the air. Not a yelling match, an actual conversation. He talks about you, you know. Your intelligence, what you'd accomplished before deciding to be a stay at home mom. When he first got the call about you, he was scared you were hurt. He rushed out of here to be at your side. Because he loves you. You're his sister and that will never change. Even when you're deliberately embarrassing him."

"You're serious? You really think he cares? And that is a ridiculous reason for him to attack my fiance."

"No, it's a big brother reason. I may not have a sister by blood, but I do have a friend I consider a sister. I worry about her, because I care about her, I can't help it. Neither can he. Think about it, and try cutting down on the embarrassing stories, because in case you haven't bothered to notice, he hasn't told any embarrassing stories about you."

Xander wasn't sure if his unsolicited advice would have any effect, but the work on the matter bridge continued. And then came the day it was completed and they were finally able to start it up. Everything seemed to be going just fine. Until another Rodney McKay appeared.

"I need to talk to whoever is in charge of this project." auMcKay said.

"That would be you." Zalenka said.

"Oh good."

Of course, auMcKay had to go through Carson's domain first. McKay was no doubt having a very surreal day as he stared thru the glass at another version of himself. Finally, Carson declared him healthy and Goa'uld free and everyone got to meet this auMcKay.

"Well, first off, we need you to shut down your bridge. You're causing damage in our reality. We couldn't communicate with you, so I got sent through to tell you what was going on."

McKay grimaced and said. "We didn't realize it would cause damage trying to extract energy from another reality. I'm sorry. We've shut it down. At least, until we send you back, since two of us can't be in the same reality."

"Why not?" Cordelia asked.

"Because this reality will treat him like an invader, like a virus in the body, and send it's version of white blood cells to erase him." Xander told her. "There was an incident at the SGC, where another Sam came thru along with another Major Kowalski, it was before I joined the Program. AuSam suffered massive seizures as her body was nearly torn apart. They managed to get her back to her own reality safely."

"He's right." auMcKay. "You know, I've sometimes wondered why you didn't become a scientist instead of a pilot."

"I'm not a pilot, I'm a translator, a linguist." Xander answered.

"Really? You speak several languages in my reality too, but it's more of a hobby, then a career choice. I mean, you joined the Air Force to be a pilot."

"I joined the Stargate Program first here, then joined the Air Force. You're saying I did the opposite in your reality?"

"Yes. You went thru the Academy. I take it you didn't do that here."

"No, I earned a special commission. I mean I love flying the jumpers, and I did think about a career in the military off and on over the years, but it wasn't until I met Jack O'Neill that I pursued it, and that was so I could join the Program. I wanted to travel thru the Stargate and walk on alien worlds. And as for being a scientist, science was never my favorite. I did okay, but I love words, reading. So I did well in literature and history type courses. I'm considered an expert on myths and folklore too."

"Yeah, in my reality too. Our Xander Harris is also married to Cordelia Chase, although I'm surprised to see you both here. The Xander Harris in my reality works at the SGC, so he can be with his family."

Both Xander and Cordelia froze at that word. And Cordelia quietly said. "Family?"

"Yes, your son, Jesse and your daughter, Samantha. Twins, they're several months old."
