Some time had passed, it was unclear how much as the time in the realm flows differently, and with no apparent day and night cycle, no one can tell how much time went by. You just sleep when you feel like it or when you're tired enough. Rita also had a few trials, but none were with the Singularity. She had the monstrous killers like Dredge and Demogorgon, and Spirit too. But the other survivors, they had the Singularity. Well some of them. And they were terrified, it really made her worry about her seeing the killer.
But she couldnt dwell on that now, especially not when theres progress to be made. So she slipped by to another area of the survivor camp, one more secluded. Ie, the one that Trickster briefly shown her. The alchemist shack.
"I wonder why is this here?" she quietly spoke to herself as it reminded her of those killer shacks from the trials
"Some say it belonged to a survivor turned killer" a male voice spoke
That made Rita jump, realizing it was Trickster who snuck up on her. Again, being rather spiffy in his looks. Pink blue hair, circular sunglasses, and something that looks like a sponsored outfit for a video shoot at the beach. And of course a colourful baseball bat. This one even had barbed wire at the tip, fun.
"Ehm… now thats a… look" she wasnt sure what to say. The man merely smiled and said
"Thank you. Now are you ready for some mystery" he entered the alchemist shack and used the lighter they got. It was all really old and dimly lit with this thing. But he found a lantern and some candles to try and light up the place.
"How was this even built?" Rita asked a bit amazed at this thing
"I dont know really" he answers as he fixates on a familiar gross looking flower. He knew this belonged to Blight. Rita noticed him and walked over to look at the floral specimen.
"Did this belong to Blight?" she asked and he merely nodded
The context clues were there, the pustula flower, random splotches of the familiar serum. Trickster even saw some devices he heard Trapper describe and he saw some empty injectors.
This place reeked of dread, but also hidden secrets and knowledge.
"Lets go find this thing" Trickster spoke, but in a more serious manner, he wasnt really as relaxed as before. Something Rita noticed, which also made her be on edge. If a killer is unsettled, it must be bad. And she felt it was different then before. It wasnt like with the Demogoron. She wondered, did the Trickster feel fear as well in this moment. She figured she could ask
"Hey, are you ok?" she asked
"Trapper mentioned that The Blight is very close to The Entity and is one of the only killers who could freely visit the Void, aka the place where we all go if we die permanently. And the only one who can enter restricted zones outside the trials. And could harness and use part of the Entity's own power. He can do a lot of messed up shit basically. And I dont like it" indeed, he feared that the Blight would capture him and he didnt want to be caught. He heard what Ghostface, Legion and Trapper went thru. He didnt want to be part of that.
Rita didnt really know how to react, but she had empathy for the killer because well… she can relate to the fear. It was the only emotion survivors got to feel the most. Always fear. It was different seeing a killer have that emotion. It was humanizing. But she didnt know how to react still, should she comfort him. Well, it was in her nature, but how can she in this scenario? Well, the most she could do now is place her hand on his shoulder. Something he felt which made him a bit at ease as he chuckled and placed his hand over hers
"I appreciate that" he spoke in a softer tone for a moment, but spoke that they must continue
While they did find a lot of items and clues that tied the Blight to other realms and people. And even the Plague's vomit which was disguisting, there wasnt really much on the escape part. It felt like they were stuck. Until Rita found a journal. She beckoned the trickstery korean to come over as it looked important. Which he did and just looked over her shoulder as she opened up the journal which held some information about the illusive Void and some bits about previous survivors that they dont know of. There was a lot of metaphysical stuff written that they couldnt really understand. But then they saw something about an escape. How Vigo escaped the Entity for good and how he wanted to do so as well. Something about a serum and a formula.
Apparently Blight thought Vigo injected himself with a serum that transported him away to the real world and the Blight wanted to replicate that. But judging how the situation was now. All he did was become a monster. Which made them realize. Vigo escaped and this journal mentioned how the guy noted the formula and stuff in his journal. Which meant this one belonged to Blight. And Trickster realized the Blight kept Vigo's Journal on his person, which made him facepalm
"Whats wrong?" she now asked
"Blight has your escape route. And not in his possession, but on his person. Almost at all times" Trickster replied, delivering the bad news, which was a blow to their morale. Rita didnt want to quit there and wanted to look more. Perhaps there was more to this. She looked at some shredded notes which looked like they had some valuable information. But it was nearly indiscernible. Pair that with the notes being shredded and pieces misplaced. Which made her sigh.
"Maybe its best you go" she spoke to him.
"Hm?" Trickster raised his brow and looked at her curiously
"I cant keep this place a secret. I need to show this to the survivors" she spoke as she realized that it was bad if she kept this discovery from them. She needed their own inquiry and insight. Perhaps the police people can find something the two cant.
The Trickster merely shrugged and said "Suit yourself. This place is a bust anyway. Your exit is at Blight and he wont help anyone." he took the lighter he had and merely walked away
Rita wanted to chase after him and tell him to wait, but she got whisked away on a trial. She got paired with Jake, Dwight and Jonah. Which was sorta good. Jonah was a CIA agent. Surely he can help.
As they prepared, Rita thought about saying this big news now. But she didnt get the chance as they got whisked away fast to a realm.
She realized this was the Storehouse that belonged to Trapper. People would call it the Groaning Storehouse for some reason, she wasnt clear on what and why. But hurried to find a generator or a survivor. But instead she found a killer. It was Pinhead the Cenobite. Who quickly conjured up a chain at her which she narrowly dodged and quickly ran away. He was about to give chase, but he felt the box
"The Box, You've Opened it…" he vanished from her sight and chased someone else.
Rita sighed from relief and went to work on a generator. She managed to fix one in peace. And soon heard someone finished another. The trial went by fast, but it went both sides. Although Pinhead had the edge on them and won this trial, with the only survivor being Dwight of all people. The guy was a stealth master, second only to Claudette and Nea.
But anywho as the trial finished she went to look for some choice survivors. She found Jill Valentine first and while she wasnt a cop per say, she did work someplace similar. She wasnt sure what was S.T.A.R.S despite hearing what the abbreviation was before. They were police like, more like swat. Which was kind of police. She shook her head as she was overcomplicating things in her head and approached Jill. And while the two had an interaction, Rita went down to the point and informed her of the place. Jill though thought it was best if everyone knew so they can all decide. So she went to round everyone up and call up a little survivor meeting.
When the meeting was about to begin, everyone was here but Leon, Tapp, Bill and Yun-Jin. Kind of a shame that two police characters were gone but at least Jonah and Cybil were here
"So, I dont know how to start this, but I found a shack in our survivor camp. Apparently our safe zone stretches a bit further than we initially thought." Rita started as she stared at the crowd. Her eyes glanced behind the crowd, but the only thing beyond the safe zone there was Myers trying to stab away at the protective forces.
Elodie grabbed her attention back as she asked Rita how did she find this, what prompted her to go to a possibly dangerous and unknown uncharted territory. But Rita said that she had to try and do something others havent. It was a gamble and it paid off. Of course she didnt want to say that Trickster showed her the place, who got told by Ghostface. And she wouldnt be surprised if Ghostface found out from stalking Blight. And now she's telling this to all survivors.
"We should check it out. I mean if its safe no killer can harm us and maybe it has some answers how to escape" Meg chimed in and the others agreed. Indeed it seemed they were filled with hope. So they eagerly started to discuss how to go about this.
"Maybe we should wait for the others to return. I mean, imagine they come back and see us gone" Steve reminded everyone that they cant just go to this shack. Imagine Tapp, Leon, Bill and Yun coming back to an empty campsite. Besides, Tapp, Leon and certainly Bill, were good fighters.
"I can be there and fill them in" Kate spoke up as she didnt mind staying behind
"Nah, I think its best we dont rush. Let them come back from the trial. Let a new one begin. They can be filled in and go. Bill, Chris and others are good in a fight if we really need some defending. Tapp and Leon are detectives and officer respectively. They were train to find secrets. Its best we start with an experienced party to see if the coast is clear and to scour the place out. After that we can easily come and go when we want. I mean a shack isnt going anywhere" Jeff spoke
The others nodded, he had a point, so they all talked and made small talk as they waited. Eventually the quartet would return from their trial against Ghostface. Pretty satisfied as they all escaped. And thats when David, Jonah, Laurie and Zarina would poof away for a trial. Rita was relieved she wasnt chosen.
So that meant the survivors can finally move on escaping this Hell. Perhaps she wouldnt need to face the Blight
Meanwhile, as she said that, the survivors in the trial are facing Blight right now who is using a Lethal Pursue.
