Day 4: "Do you even know what this means?" I took a little liberty with this one to fit what I had in mind ;)

Monday : Cold, rainy October day.

Tuesday : Cold, windy October day

Wednesday: Another cold and rainy day where she was supposed to go shopping with Gavin but got her day derailed at 2am when a Starlette got killed. She hated every second she spend at the crime scene, her rain boots not warm enough and her coat not impermeable enough. By the time she went to the morgue she was drenched and already shivering. The ambient coldness didn't help one bit and by the time they decided to call it a day, she was bone deep exhausted, more from trying to maintien her own temperature than by real fatigue. Good thing she had an Andy, her own little furnace. Since they only had a few hours of rest, he came home with her and she was so very thankful for that. A long hug while riding the elevator and she was already better. A hot shower and, more than anything, lying in bed with him, her head on his shoulder, his arms around her and she was finally all warm and comfortable.

Thursday : She got into the office before dawn and got home after sunset. She couldn't recall what weather it was, since it didn't hold any importance. It was interviews after interviews, until they got a breakthrough and arrested the Nanny. When she finally got home, she felt like a zombie. She couldn't recall her drive, which worried her and delayed her falling asleep. Rain or sun, she couldn't care less.

Friday : Another cold and extremely rainy day. Way too cold and humid to be called on a rollout at 9am but the Mayor's brother had deceived to take justice in his own hands and had shot his Porsche Cayenne's mugger, so here she was, freezing in the rain. At least, this time she had put on 2 pairs of socks and brought an umbrella.

What bothered her the most in this whole ordeal was that she had planned to spend her weekend at Andy's. She dreamed about going for her morning run around the reservoir at Silver Lake, loving its quietness in the early hours. She wanted to go for a long walk on the beach, watch the waves crash and snuggled into Andy's arms to stay warm. She had it all planned. And she was so very disappointed.

As she brooded, she felt Andy come closer to her. They had been dating for only a few weeks and she already knew when he was near her, just feeling his presence. If she was honest she could even before they started seeing each other romantically.

« Do you know what that means? » He asked in a conspirant tone, pointing to the sky?

She shook her head no, still mad at the weather.

« We're going to stay home, in bed, all weekend long. No clothes. We'll order food, watch some movie, the game and make love. » He looked around, making sure the coast was clear before kissing her cheek. « It'll be warm and sunny soon enough but for now, we get to just enjoy each other. Isn't it a treat, Dear? » He asked, his grin brightening even more his beautiful face.

She laughed, feeling suddenly very light and very in love. « Yes. Yes it is. »
