As weeks began to pass, Kaeya began to regain the memories from the past few years that he had lost. It was gradual, but eventually he remembered everything he had forgotten when he had initially gotten hurt. Though he still had some issues with short term memory loss, now having a tendency of forgetting part of what happened the day before.
Diluc still sort of kept an eye on Kaeya when he could even after he regained his memories, though he fully went back to his normal work schedule a few days after Kaeya had been deemed able to return to his job as the Cavalry Captain. But, even though he had been able to go back to working, Jean wasn't allowing him to do anything aside from paperwork, at least for the time being. After a few hours of doing paperwork, Kaeya decided to take a break. He had heard that Klee was in solitary confinement so he took the opportunity to go try and talk to Klee.
He hadn't seen Klee since her and Albedo had come to the Dawn Winery to visit him. He still felt bad about making her upset and causing her to cry, so he wanted to make it up to her. Even if she thought that him not remembering her was some sort of cruel joke even when it hadn't been.
He managed to convince the knight outside of the door to the solitary confinement room to let him inside to see Klee. He walked into the room and saw the young girl sitting on the floor. She looked up at him, it was clear on her face that she wasn't sure whether to run over to him and hug him or not. Kaeya noticed this and figured Klee was still wary of him, so he tried to think of something to say.
"So, what did Jean catch you doing this time?" he asked. This seemed to work and Klee realized that Kaeya was acting like his normal self again. She got up and ran over to him, seeming very happy that Kaeya knew who she was again. Kaeya knelt down to her level and gave her a hug. Klee hugged him back. Kaeya was quiet for the time being, glad that Klee didn't seem to be upset with him anymore.
Kaeya was quiet for a little bit but soon managed to say something else "I'm sorry I made you upset, Klee" he said honestly. Klee looked at Kaeya, she wasn't sure what to say in response, but she forgave him nonetheless.
The bluenette soon had to leave the room, not wanting Jean to catch him and think he was trying to sneak Klee out of solitary confinement. He said goodbye to Klee and started heading back to his office. As he walked he debated on visiting Angel's Share since he remembered that Diluc had a shift there that evening. The relationship between him and Diluc was much better than it had been before Kaeya had gotten hurt. Which Kaeya was happy about at the very least.
Eventually it was time for Kaeya to leave work for the day. He got up from his desk and stretched, before leaving. He left the Knights of Favonius headquarters and began walking to Angel's Share. It took a few minutes to get there but soon he walked through the door, seeing the red head behind the counter. He was still sort of trying to get used to being back in his normal mindset as a twenty-two year old, so for the time being he wasn't drinking that much alcohol compared to before. Even so, he still decided to visit Angels Share so he could see Diluc.
Diluc looked up from what he was doing when he heard the door open and someone walk in, he opened his mouth to greet whoever had entered, but paused when he saw that the person was Kaeya. Nonetheless he still greeted him as Kaeya walked over to the bar and sat down, ordering what he wanted to drink. Diluc gave a nod and began making the drink for him. As Diluc did so, Kaeya began to talk to him. Though, he wasn't really talking about anything in particular. That didn't matter to Diluc, he was just glad that Kaeya was, seemingly, back to his normal self. Especially when compared to how quiet he had been before when he still had the mindset of a seventeen year old.
Diluc tried to listen to Kaeya, though most of his attention was on his job of serving customers and making sure there wasn't anyone causing problems, which luckily there wasn't. Diluc was relieved by that, since it meant he didn't have to kick anyone out yet, though it was inevitable that he would have to do it, even when it was just when the tavern had to close for the night and there were stubborn people refusing to leave.
Kaeya ended up not staying at the tavern for very long before he got up, said goodbye to his brother and left. Though, it wasn't long after he left that he ran into Albedo and Klee. The bluenette smiled and walked over to them, greeting the two blonds. Klee smiled and ran over to him as soon as she saw him, Albedo trailing after. Kaeya gave Klee a hug but looked at Albedo "Did you come into the city just to get Klee out of solitary confinement?" He asked, joking a little bit.
Albedo shook his head "That wasn't the only reason" he said "But I was just about to take Klee to get some dinner, would you like to join us?" The alchemist asked. Kaeya thought a little bit but soon agreed "Sure, why not" he said with a smile. Klee seemed rather happy that Kaeya agreed to go with them and she ran off ahead to the place they were going to eat, Albedo and Kaeya followed, trying to keep up with the young girl.
