Welcome to the redo of my old story. This story takes place during HTTYD1, except a few things have been changed, eg: Hiccup is friends with Snotlout, and he doesn't shoot Toothless down. The reason this story was deleted and then posted again, is because I am going to try and write longer chapters. This time each chapter will aimed at 2000 words or higher.

Chapter 1: Treaty Signing.

As the annual Peace Treaty Signing was being hosted on Berk, the whole village was preparing the decorations and events that were being held. The chief of the village Stoick The Vast, was leading most of the village to put up lights and clean the arena, the teens of the village (Hiccup, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Astrid, Arnlaug, Gunnald, Lodin, and Gustav) were all residing in the Great Hall sitting in their separate groups. Whilst Astrid, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, and Gustav were eating their food, Hiccup and his friends were looking at maps, and ship designs.

"Hey I was thinking, since I live by the sea, wouldn't be a good idea to make a camp so we can test our boat and make sure it floats so we can make a larger one?" asks Lodin pulling out a small wooden boat with detailed items and the perfect layout for a boat. "I made this last night, haven't tried it yet, but I thought we could do so today after breakfast."

"Sounds like a good idea." says Hiccup as they take a seat at their table (nobody likes to use the Outcast Table).

"So what's the plan for the ship?" asks Arnlaug.

"Well, as you can see on the miniature design, it will be big enough to store more storage than any of our current ships as well as a few rooms to store certain things and for us to sleep in. Fishlegs, there will be a room for knowledge that can be fitted with shelves of books, Hiccup a forge with a non-flammable ground so it doesn't burn, Snotlout an area for all of the weapons, Arnlaug and Gunnald rooms for all of the tools and building materials like wool and some food." says Lodin pulling out pieces of paper with detailed outlines of the ship. "We will have enough room for everything we need."

"Alright, now we just need to find a space big enough to build the ship without anyone knowing." says Arnlaug.

"Well, I did see a cave out by the water that we could use to store the ship in once we know it floats and have built the base." says Fishlegs pulling out a map of the island.

"Good job Fishlegs, after breakfast everyone grab some tools and meet out by Lodin's house to start working on the ship." says Hiccup as he takes a bite out of a fish. "You think you could get your family to try and build the prototype?"

"I'm sure we can think of something. Even if we can't make it, we do have ships in the docks we could lend." says Lodin taking the prints. After all, being the son of the village cartographer and ship builder does have its benefits.

At the other table of teenagers. Astrid and Ruffnut look over to Hiccup's table.

"What do you think their doing?" asks Astrid taking a drink of boar milk.

"Dunno, can't say I really care." says Ruffnut as Tuffnut takes a seat.

"So, what are you two discussing?" asks Tuffnut.

"Trying to figure out what Hiccup and his friends are doing." says Ruffnut.

"I'd say they are planning on building something. You can tell when Lodin brings prints and Fishlegs brings a map." says Tuffnut.

"How'd you even know they have that stuff?" asks Ruffnut.

"Uh, because I walked close to their table and could see what they were doing? Duh." says Tuffnut.

"Well, we can't let them screw up anything else." says Astrid.

"Wait, from what I heard they were going to be building something by Lodin's house out by the river near that cave nobody uses." says Tuffnut.

"Maybe this time they won't destroy anything in the village because they aren't building anything in the village?" asks Ruffnut.

As Astrid and her table keep eating, she notices them all leave the hall.

"Be right back." says Astrid getting up to follow them.

Meanwhile, by the time Astrid gets to the door, Hiccup and his friends are nowhere to be seen.

"I could have sworn they were right here."

"Who was right where?" asks Gobber.

"Oh Gobber, thought I saw something." says Astrid as Ruffnut and Tuffnut exit the hall.

"Well, if you are seeing things make sure to visit Gothi." says Gobber entering the hall.

"What was that all about?" asks Ruffnut.

"Thought I saw something." says Astrid as she makes her way to the forest with her axe.

"Care to explain?" asks Ruffnut following her.

"It's too hard to explain. I saw Hiccup and his friends leaving the hall, and went to follow them but by the time I got to the door I saw nobody." says Astrid.

"You know I agree with Gobber, maybe you should visit Gothi." says Ruffnut walking away from the hall.

"I'm gonna go and throw my axe at some trees." says Astrid walking towards the forest.

With Astrid throwing her axe at the trees, Ruffnut and Tuffnut had gone back home to help set up the decorations. Once Astrid was done throwing her axe at the trees, she went to visit the forge to look for Hiccup, but he was nowhere to be found, leaving Astrid standing in the village square as Ruffnut and Tuffnut had finished setting up decorations.

"I thought you said you were going to throw your axe at the trees?" says Tuffnut.

"Well, I did, but I had finished that and was heading to the forge to get my axe sharpened." says Astrid. "But Hiccup was nowhere to found."

"Well there is the ship they're trying to build, but do you really think they would be out by Lodin's house just to build a boat when they could just pay for one at the docks?" says Ruffnut.

Meanwhile at Lodin's house the group had set up their camp, and started to carve out a miniature design of their ship. Once all the tents and beds have been set up, Hiccup and his team start to test whether the boat miniature floats so they know if they can build a bigger version.

"So, what are the theories of this?" asks Fishlegs. "I think it will float."

"I reckon it'll float." says Gunnald.

"It better float." says Lodin. "If not we will have to come up with another idea."

As Fishlegs careful rests it in the water he is amazed it floats. The ship is still intact, steadily sailing on the water.

"It works." says Lodin. "Thank Thor it does."

"Alright, now that we know it floats, we have to start building the ship. Snotlout, and Gunnald you are in charge of chopping the trees down. Fishlegs and I will start working on the inside details on paper so we know what to build, Arnlaug and Lodin will help gather the wood and then start carving it out into the shape of our boat.

With Astrid.

As Astrid exits the hall, she looks around the village and sees two similar faces, Arnlaug and Lodin.

"What are they up to now?" asks Ruffnut.

"By the looks of things, they seem to be buying things in the market." says Tuffnut. "Kinda makes you think what they could be up to. Going to the Ropery, Forge, Artistry, and weapons shop."

"They can't be up to anything good." says Astrid. "When they go into the forest follow them. I think they are just the spies to report back to Hiccup and the others."

"If so, why would Hiccup need anything from the forge? He works there remember." says Ruffnut.

"Good point." says Astrid. "Keep an eye on them."

"What should we do when it gets dark?" asks Tuffnut.

"Make sure we update each other so we all know what is happening." says Astrid as she goes back to her house.

As Astrid enters her house, she sees her parents are talking to Stoick.

"Ah Astrid, we were wondering when you would get home." says Astrid's Mother Frida.

"I was just having dinner at the hall." says Astrid. "I hope that's alright."

"Of course, dear." says Astrid's father Thorbjorn.

"Stoick also came by to tell us something concerning you." says Frida.

"What do you mean?" asks Astrid.

Astrid's parents look to one-another then to Stoick.

"Astrid I want you to be a part of the Berk boating team. The other members are Hiccup, Lodin, and Fishlegs. You will be working with them for the boat races, and when it comes to the Arena Fights, I want you and Snotlout to be part of a team with Gunnald and Gustav. You four are the best warriors of this village." says Stoick.

Later that day, the village separate throughout the village as the decorations are out, now all they were waiting for was the nearby tribes to arrive. A few hours later, the ships start to arrive at Berk's Docks. The tribes of Berserker Island, Bog Burglar Isles, and Meadhead Island had docked, and entered the hall of Berk. Taking all their seats, Chief Stoick of Berk stood up by the chieftain table.

"Good to see you my old friend, must be nice hosting the signing here." says Mogadon, chief of the Meadhead tribe.

"Well it certainly makes travelling easier doesn't it?" asks Bertha, cheiftess of the Bog Burglar tribe. "Though I would still prefer it if we could host it again."

"I welcome our fellow tribes Berserker, Bog, and Meadhead to the annual treaty signing. As Berk was chosen to host this year's signing, we have selected a lovely group of activities. We will begin with a boat race in the harbour, only this time the teams must build the boat, then sail it. After the boat race is complete, we will then hold a new addition to the events. Every clan will provide a small team of 3-4 who will complete some rounds against the other teams in a 1v1 style event." says Stoick grabbing a quill and dipping it in a small pot of ink. "Now I believe it is time to sign our treaty. Gobber, bring us the Treaty."

"Here you are Stoick." says Gobber putting the treaty on the bench. "After signing this treaty, all tribes agree to come to aid if in need."

With the treaty signed, the hall was filled with cheering and clapping. As Stoick stood again, the hall quickly quieted down.

"Thank you for coming to this signing. Tomorrow we begin the festivities, until then have a good night and let the party start." says Stoick as the food gets brought out.

Meanwhile at Lodin's house, Hiccup and his crew continue to work on their ship by carving out the gathered wood, hammering in the bolts to keep the ship together, and starting on some shields to layer the borders of the ship.

"Alright looks like we have finished the shell of the boat, and some of the wooden border. Now we just need to purchase a sail, an anchor, and then we should be done." says Hiccup looking over their ship.

"You know Hiccup, we still need to figure out what we will do when we find this new island." says Gunnald hammering in the last nail.

"I agree, we've been working on this ship for the past day, and still haven't decided on what we will actually do if we find a new island to settle on." says Snotlout.

"That's where you're wrong, Lodin and his family are going on a fishing trip soon, whilst out at sea he will be looking for possible routes to sail on." says Hiccup standing back and looking at their ship. "Well then. Shall we get to bed and then search for the last bits we need tomorrow?"

"Sounds like a plan." says Lodin walking over to his tent.

The next day, everyone enters the hall to begin the Annual Treaty Regatta. Once everyone enters the hall, Stoick stands up and gives a little speech.

"People of Berk, warriors and friends. Today is a momentous day in our history, a day where we gather not just as tribes and allies, but as a united force, bound by a common purpose. We stand here not with axes drawn, but with a spirit of good will that transcends the battles we've fought. Today, we come together to celebrate the signing of a treaty that marks a new era for Berk and its neighbouring lands." says Stoick looking down upon the crowd.

"Aye Stoick!" shouts Spitelout.

"I stand before you, not just as Stoick the Vast, but as a leader who recognises the strength that lies in unity. Our ancestors would be proud to see us set aside our differences and embrace the bonds that tie us together. This treaty is a symbol of peace, a testament to our shared commitment to the well-being of our people and the prosperity of our lands." says Stoick getting some cheers from the crowd. "So without further ado, I welcome you all to the start of Berk's Annual Regatta."

End of chapter, hope you enjoyed. Feel free to leave a review. See you soon with another chapter.
