"Carlisle, when can I go home? It's been three days. I really do feel better," she gave her best puppy dog eyes, hoping to persuade her father.
"Jasper can take you home today. You've improved significantly. You'll still need to be careful, of course. If your stitches tear again, you'll be right back in here."
"Yes, dad," she said, smiling at him.
"I'll get everything sorted out, and you and Jasper can head home soon"
When her and Jasper were alone, she pulled him closer so he was leaning over her. Her hands tangled their way into his hair, pulling him down so she could reach his lips with her own. Jasper gently kissed her, but Alice soon deepened the kiss.
After a few minutes of kissing, Jasper pulled away, his eyes black once again.
"Naughty girl," he chuckled, his voice deep with lust.
"What? Am I not allowed to kiss my husband?" She questioned innocently.
"You know what," he smirked, an eyebrow raised. "Whatever you're thinking is definitely not going to help your wound heal."
Alice huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Darlin', I love you, and I typically would have no reservations about fulfilling your wants, but you need to heal first."
"I know," she sighed.
"You'll feel better before you know it," he told her, placing a kiss on top of her head.
A while later, Carlisle returned. He unhooked Alice from the machines and handed her a bottle of medication.
"If your pain increases, take one of these with food so you don't get nauseous. If you can't handle your pain, there's always the option of changing you."
"Not yet. I can handle it."
Carlisle sighed, "alright, if you're sure. Just remember that it's an option, and it might be best to do it sooner rather than later. One human accident is more than enough."
"I know. We will soon. I just want to know what it's like to be human for a while longer."
Carlisle nodded, and left them alone again. Jasper helped her out of the bed and out of her hospital gown.
For the first time since her accident, he saw the bruises that covered her body. A bruise covered her chest from the seatbelt, her sides and back were bruised from all the impacts as the car rolled.
His eyes took in every scrape, cut, and bruise before Alice pulled the loose t-shirt over her head. She was unaware of his inspection, too excited to be going home.
Jasper lead her to Carlisle's car, opening the passenger door and helping her into the seat. He swiftly hooked the seatbelt across her before walking around to the driver side door.
The drive home was short and silent. Jasper could feel Alice's eagerness as they pulled up to the garage, but he could also feel her worry.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"What do you mean?"
"You're worried. And you haven't said a word since we left the hospital," he explained.
"Oh. Nothing's wrong."
"Alice. You know I know you better than that."
She sighed.
"I saw your face when I told Carlisle I wanted to wait to be turned. You looked… disappointed."
Now it was Jasper's turn to sigh.
"I was… am disappointed. I almost lost you. Twice."
"So you think I'm making the wrong decision to wait."
"Yes, I do. I understand why you want to wait, but I don't believe the risk is worth it. Carlisle could have turned you after the accident, and you wouldn't have gone through any of that. Hell, he could have turned you as soon as you became human!"
"I don't expect you to understand. You remember your life. Even if I could remember, those memories wouldn't be the ones I want. I have a chance to live like a human. I didn't get that chance before!"
"And what about me?! What if something happens and we can't save you in time?! I lose you forever because you thought being a human was worth it?"
"I knew you wouldn't understand," she whispered, opening the car door and heading for the trees.
"Alice, where are you going?"
"To be alone. I've been stuck in that room for three days. I need some fresh air and space."
