It was just another day of Kyoya ensuring the safety of the Maihara heiress as she went home after having almost an entire bottle of sake to herself.

'I must secretly be a masochist because I impose this upon myself.' Kyoya thought as he looked at an awfully cheerful Chizuru, a bawling Hikaru, and a passed-out Kaoru in some izakaya in the middle of the Tokyo.

He was glad he brought back up today. Mori's stoic expression didn't have any hint of disbelief as he stared and listened to Hikaru's woes.

The two sober individuals glanced at each other and nodded. They knew their assignments at this point. Mori was taking the twins and Kyoya was handling Chizuru.

Unfortunately, the commoner izakaya the three chose to drink without any reservations was in the middle of an alley within an alley that crosses through another alley, so they had no choice but to guide the three out this maze.

The faint yellow lights of the alley, the damp street, and the smell of grilled eel and chicken was almost overpowering. Mori effortlessly carried Kaoru over his shoulder and his hand guided Hikaru to walk in a straight path.

"I'll go ahead." Mori said with a short bow.

"Thank you, senpai." Kyoya replied. He looked back at Chizuru who was already taking a nap on the bench and stopped himself from sighing.

Kyoya looked around and saw a vending machine that finally dispensed some warm water. That was what this doctor needed at the moment. He looked at her sleeping expression and sometimes he wonders how he ended getting feelings for Chizuru in the first place.

He took the warm bottle of water and placed it against her cheek. The temperature was enough to wake her up.

"How long was I out?" Chizuru rubbed her eyes.

"10 minutes." Kyoya said as he opened the bottle of water and handed it to her. "I'm surprised you still have some sense of shame considering I've been doing this for years." Kyoya teased sarcastically.

Chizuru laughed sheepishly. There really was no filter with Kyoya. "Ahhh…thanks."

"Are you sober enough to walk?" Kyoya asked as he offered his hand to help her stand.

Chizuru nodded as she stood up and followed him closely. She avoided one puddle after another one as she had a drunk smile on her face. Their apartment wasn't too far from here, but it was still quite a distance to walk considering her drunken state. Though things aren't really any different between them she knew that these actions didn't mean that much to Kyoya, but there was something different now. Was it because Kyoya was holding her hand lightly as they navigated out of the maze of alleys or was she just imagining things?

"Chizuru, wait." Kyoya said as he suddenly pulled her closer.

She felt Kyoya's breath on her nape and his hand gripped her shoulder tightly. Suddenly the alcohol didn't seem to have much of an effect at that point, but her face was flushed.

"You should pay attention to the streetlight before crossing." Kyoya said sternly. His grip loosened and he distanced himself a bit from her.

Her heart was suddenly beating so fast. She didn't realize she was about to cross during a red light.

The rest of the walk back home was silent and uneventful. She noticed that Kyoya let go of her hand the moment they were back in the apartment complex. Kyoya still hasn't said a word as he walked her to her apartment and unlocked the door for her.

It's now or never. Chizuru could just say she was drunk which was why something in her was telling her to confess her feelings.

"Kyoya…"

The sound of his name as it came out of her mouth. She caught a glimpse of Kyoya's grey eyes which had a color more intense than steel. He looked at her with all of his attention waiting for her to complete her sentence.

Suddenly the pressure built up in Chizuru's chest. Here it was. Here was the risk of her putting her heart on her sleeve. There was no better timing than this. 'Did you know that I've liked you?' 'Do you know how much I like you?' 'I like you so much my chest would burst.' Emotions and words were in a temporary storm.

Chizuru mustered up all her courage to confess. "Do you like me?"

'Oh, shit.' Chizuru thought to herself. Her words got all mixed up as she wanted to disappear and let the earth swallow her whole.

Kyoya raised a brow, and a faint amused smirk made its way to his face. It started as an amused soft smile that quickly turned itself to a smirk. It was all too brief, but with years of practice Chizuru knew what she saw. Well, in reality given her level of intoxication she was just quite sure with what she saw. Was this the alcohol or reality playing with her?

"I've been found out, haven't I?" Kyoya said. His smooth and almost cold words didn't fit the warmth and intensity of his dark grey eyes.

That's exactly what caused Chizuru to just fall in love with him. Kyoya was a contradiction in all forms. Those opposing factors are what drew her towards him. It was his very essence to be a perfect piece of organized chaos.

"Get some sleep." Kyoya smirked. "We can continue this some other time when you're more in sync with your senses."

Kyoya took in the warmth Chizuru had. She has no multiple facets. It was almost amazing how Chizuru was practically constant regardless of who she interacted with. It was her ability to get the world to open up to her that constantly drew him closer to that energy she had. Her ability to simply understand and listen was more than enough. Her mischief and giddiness found a place in his structured reality.

Chizuru's heart was pounding…no hammering against her chest. All this time they've been blind with each other's actions and intentions. There wasn't much that changed with their dynamic. It was how things just all fell into place. All their interactions suddenly flashed before her eyes and she felt like she was blind to it all.

"How long?" she asked.

"I'm not entirely sure." Kyoya placed his hands in his pockets. "Does it matter?"

Chizuru started laughing. The alcohol was still working its magic. Her emotions were out of control. "Well, no. I'm just not sure how we go on from here."

Kyoya understood where she was coming from. He saw it. He had the same sentiments as well. "We don't have to tell the others yet."

It wasn't that their relationship wasn't approved of. It was more of an issue of pride and "I knew you'd end up together" speeches that they both mutually cannot stand.

This was the contradiction of Kyoya. His tendency to over plan things and to be prepared for any situation was lost during such an important moment. For once he let things run its natural course. Somehow, he had a better plan for all of this, but sometimes taking Tamaki's advice wasn't all that bad.

'You'll know that moment, mon ami'. As Tamaki always said with a wink and bold expression.

Tamaki was right after all. It wasn't how Kyoya pictured it, but the message he wanted to say got across. It wasn't like all the events he planned where every detail was noted to the dot. There was no fancy setup. No extravagant scheme. He did the worst thing he could think of which was to put his heart on a silver platter and offer it up hoping it would suffice.

Chizuru had no words as well. The hall was silent with just the two of them there. She sighed and shakily reached and squeezed Kyoya's hand. It was even colder than usual. She sighed again as she rubbed her hands together and let the warmth transfer to Kyoya.

It was something only they understood. Their intentions finally clear. Two individuals who shared the same feelings for each other. They both appreciated each other as they were, not with all the titles and glamour that came with their name. That didn't matter to them. For once the need for merit wasn't in the picture.

Ahhh yes. I was feeling a bit depressed lately and wanted to write some fluff. This is a more mature and simple confession. something I imagined that two grown up people with very little time in their hands would do.
