"Jace, Jace," said Theo, trembling and trying not to cry, "Jace, look at me. You're going to be okay. Look at me, okay? Look at me. You're going to be okay. SOMEONE BRING MIA NOW, FUCK!"
"You, pretty boy,are going to stay here with me," André said, his eyes shining maliciously, grabbing Draco by the arm. He then turned to a brunette boy, saying, "Ivan, look for Mia."
In the middle of the night, a roar of pain echoed through the air. It was Meraxes, who, feeling his injured rider, roared in rage and pain, desperately asking for help.
"Jace, Jace, don't fall asleep," Theo implored, his voice quivering. "Ivan has gone to find Mia. You're going to be okay. Don't fall asleep. Hold on for a bit."
Jace looked lost, his face pale, and he was breathing shallowly. His clothes were soaked with blood and clung to his body. No one knew what to do. Everything had happened so fast.
"If he dies," André hissed cruelly at Draco, "you're going to pay very, very dearly. You're in Durmstrang territory, and you're under our jurisdiction. Your daddy's money won't save you from this."
"WHERE IS MIA? FUCK!" Theo shouted desperately. "SOMEONE GET HELP NOW. DAMN IT. Jace, Jace, don't fall asleep."
"WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE?" Moody bellowed.
Theo raised his head and met Moody's gaze. I'm Barty , Moody said in Theo's head.
"Barty, Barty, please help me," Theo implored, tears streaming down his face. "I don't know what to do. Mia isn't here, and I don't know what to do. I can't stop the bleeding. He can't die."
Barty glanced at Jace and quickly knelt down beside him, taking off his Auror jacket and placing it under Jace's head. Barty tried to stay calm, but he felt as though he were back in the woods with Evan. He shook his head and focused on Jace.
"I need dittany to stop the bleeding," Barty told Theo, rolling up his sleeves.
"SOMEBODY BRING DITTANY NOW!" Theo shouted. "What...what do I do?"
"Who did this?" Barty asked, his anger barely contained. "That curse is practically an Unforgivable."
"It was Malfoy," Theo said with disgust. "Jace found out that Malfoy had disrespected Mia, and they had a confrontation this afternoon. Moody transformed him into a ferret, and Malfoy came looking for revenge. He challenged Jace to a duel, and then he cast the Sectumsempra at Jace."
"IS THAT RIGHT?" Barty bellowed, disguised as Moody, and glared at Draco.
"I...I didn't know," Draco stuttered, frightened. "I don't…"
"I suggest you call your parents because you're under arrest," Barty told him with a cold voice. "There's no amount of money in the world that will get you out of this situation."
A guy ran up with four vials of dittany and handed them to Theo. "That's all I could find, Theo. I'm sorry."
"Thank you," Theo said, and looking at Barty, he asked, "What do I do?"
"Apply it to the wounds," Barty instructed. "It will leave some scars, but it will stop the bleeding."
Theo and Barty, disguised as Moody, quickly began to apply dittany to Jace's wounds. Greenish smoke began to emerge from the wounds, but they slowly began to heal, leaving behind thin hypertrophic scars.
"JACE, JACE, MY GOD!" Mia screamed in horror as she knelt down, cradling Jace's head in her lap, tears streaming down her face. "OH MY GOD, WHO DID THIS TO YOU?"
The sudden appearance of the golden shield caught everyone off guard. Mia and Jace were encased within it, and the force of it sent Theo and Barty tumbling backward. André and Draco also stumbled back, their faces filled with surprise and bewilderment.
"Star, Mia," Theo said cautiously as he approached the shield. "I need you to calm down."
Mia's eyes blazed with anger, and her voice trembled with rage. "I'M NOT GOING TO CALM DOWN. STAY AWAY FROM ME, STAY AWAY FROM US OR I'LL KILL YOU," she warned, her golden eyes sparkling with fury. "WHO DARED TO DO THIS TO JACE?"
The shield surrounding Mia and Jace made it impossible for anyone to approach them. Mia's anger had reached its peak the moment she had seen Jace lying on the ground in pain. When Ivan had rushed to her in the grotto, out of breath and desperate to explain what had happened, Mia's worry had intensified. She had been flying with Vhagar when she heard the furious roar of Meraxes, prompting Vhagar to rush back to the grotto with unusual speed, where Meraxes was bellowing in despair.
Even before Ivan arrived, Mia had felt a jolt of electricity coursing through her body, leaving her breathless and unsteady on her feet. Her mind was filled with thoughts of Jace, and she struggled to think clearly as she rushed to the scene. Draco was going to pay dearly for what he had done.
Seeing Jace lying in a pool of blood had felt like the world collapsing around her, and time seemed to stand still. She felt as though she were underwater, with all voices around her distant and muffled. Her mind kept repeating, "Jace is dying, someone has hurt Jace." Holding him in her arms, an uncontrollable rage surged through her like scorching lava, and Mia was determined to make Draco Malfoy pay for this with his life.
"WHO THE FUCK DID THIS?" Mia screamed in desperation.
"Mia, Mia," Barty said, picking up his wand from the ground. "It's me, Barty. Let me help you."
"I WON'T SAY IT AGAIN," Mia shouted, her anger palpable. "WHO DID THIS TO JACE, OR I SWEAR I'LL BURN THIS FUCKING PLACE TO THE GROUND."
Theo, trying to approach Mia, spoke softly, "It was Malfoy."
Mia turned her furious gaze toward Draco. A malevolent smile crept across her face, and her golden eyes gleamed with malice. With a gasp, Draco began to rise from the ground as if some invisible force had seized him. He struggled and gasped for breath, but Mia watched impassively, laughing with cruelty as he dangled in the air, unable to free himself.
"Mia," Barty implored, "Mia, I know you're furious, but I need you to let go of Malfoy."
"HE DESERVES TO DIE FOR WHAT HE'S DONE," Mia cried out, her voice filled with pain. Her magic was spiraling out of control.
"Mia, please," Theo begged desperately, "listen to me. Malfoy will pay dearly, I'll take care of it myself, but please, let him go."
Mia stared at Theo with tears in her eyes. Theo saw the emotions pass through Mia's eyes. Pain. Despair. Sadness. Wrath. Theo looked at her trying to convey all the love and understanding in the had never seen Mia so terrified and hurt, and he hated Malfoy for causing his friends so much pain. Mia finally released Draco, who fell to the ground, gasping for air, as the invisible force released its hold on him.
"Mia is not going to let anyone get close to Jace," Barty said, his eyes locked on Theo. "Theo, listen to me carefully. I need you to call whoever you consider appropriate. I will take care of the rest. This ends here."
Theo nodded in agreement, his heart heavy with worry for his friend. Without hesitation, he summoned his Patronus, and a majestic direwolf burst forth from his wand, darting away towards its destination. It carried a message that would hopefully bring help to Jace.
Barty, still disguised as Moody, approached Draco slowly and grabbed him roughly by the shoulder, his grip firm and unyielding. "Draco Malfoy," Moody's voice echoed with authority. "You are under arrest for the attempted first-degree murder of Jonathan Christopher Beufort-Grimaldi. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the Wizengamot. You have the right to have a lawyer. If you cannot afford a lawyer, the Ministry will assign one to you."
Draco stammered, his voice trembling with fear, "I didn't... I didn't know that was going to happen. I found the curse in a... in a potions book."
Barty allowed himself a subtle smile, inwardly satisfied that his plan had taken a fortuitous turn. He frowned at Draco's admission and retorted, "And has no one told you that you should never use a curse without knowing what effects it will have?"
"I... I'm sorry," Draco mumbled, his remorse evident.
"You don't have to apologize to me," Barty said sternly, his voice carrying a weight of seriousness. "The only person you have to apologize to is on the ground right now, fighting for his life."
James and Lily were deep in sleep when a Patronus in the form of a crow burst into their room, awakening them with a jolt. Barty's voice echoed through the room, delivering the shocking news.
"Draco Malfoy just cursed Jace with the Sectumsempra," Barty's voice conveyed urgency. "Jace is on the ground right now with his wounds closed, but he is fighting for his life. I need you to come to Sirius and notify Lucius and Narcissa, and get a lawyer involved because Draco may face charges of attempted first-degree murder of a member of The Royal Family. By the way, your daughter and Jace are surrounded by a shield created by Mia, and she doesn't let anyone get close. Tell Crouch because today we are going to arrest Snape and Dumbledore."
Wide-eyed and filled with dread, James and Lily exchanged horrified glances and immediately began dressing. James summoned his Patronus to notify Sirius, while Lily used her own to contact the Malfoys. They rushed to the fireplace and Apparated to Hogwarts without wasting a moment.
Sirius, who had been waiting anxiously, approached James. "What the fuck happened?" he demanded.
"Draco has cursed Jace with the Sectumsempra," James explained breathlessly as he ran a hand over his face. "Jace has lost a lot of blood and is fighting for his life right now."
"Fuck," Sirius swore softly. "What are the charges?"
"I don't know for sure," James admitted, "but Jace's family will most likely press charges for attempted first-degree murder. Jace is their only son and the heir to the crown."
Sirius nodded, his expression grim. "What do you need me to do?"
"Barty is here pretending to be Moody," James replied. "He has the evidence we need to arrest Dumbledore and Snape."
"Do you want me to handle it?" Sirius asked. "I can call a squad of Aurors to help me."
"You do it," James agreed, his attention fully on the unfolding crisis. "I'm going to stay here and see if I can find out more about what happened."
Shortly after, Lucius, Narcissa, and Regulus arrived, their faces etched with worry. Lily rushed to Narcissa and embraced her tightly, offering silent comfort.
"What's happening, James?" Lucius inquired, concern etching his features.
"Your son has used the Sectumsempra curse on Jace," James delivered the terrible news. "It's the same curse that killed Evan."
Narcissa let out a horrified scream, unable to contain her emotions. Regulus, however, was consumed by anger and determination.
"Where is my goddaughter?" he demanded with urgency.
"I don't know," James admitted. "I assume she's in the Durmstang camp. But she won't let anyone get close; there's a shield preventing access."
"I don't give a shit," Regulus declared resolutely, turning and sprinting toward the Durmstang camp. "My goddaughter needs me now."
As the sun began to rise, the first rays illuminated the camp, and students began to emerge from their tents. Horror and shock rippled through the crowd as they saw Mia and Jace in their vulnerable state. Someone had dared to harm the Unholy Trinity, and there would be consequences.
Theo gazed at Jace and Mia with profound sadness. Mia's protective shield made it impossible for anyone to approach, and he felt a deep sense of helplessness. Jace had endured two devastating attacks in just two months, and Theo feared the worst. Mia watched as Jace's chest rose and fell slowly, she feared that if she stopped looking at him he would stop breathing
"Mia," a soft male voice spoke to her, "let me help you."
Mia raised her tear-filled eyes, scanning her surroundings as she realized that the entire Durmstang camp was watching them with a mix of horror and anger. Looking ahead, she saw Magnus, his expression filled with compassion.
"Please, Magnus, help me," Mia cried desperately. "I don't know what to do. Jace can't die. I can't lose him, not again."
"You're doing very well, little one," Magnus reassured her gently. "But I need you to lower your shield and let me help you."
Mia nodded, tears streaming down her face, and she dropped the protective shield surrounding her and Jace, allowing Magnus to approach. Theo wasted no time and immediately wrapped Mia in his arms, holding her tightly as she cried. He whispered soothing words to her, trying his best to provide rolled up his sleeves and with a snap of his fingers, conjured a pair of blue flames on his fingertips. He began running his hands over Jace's body, his face etched with concentration and concern.
"Mia, how are you feeling?" Magnus asked, his voice filled with genuine worry. "Mia?"
"She's having fucking convulsions, Magnus!" Theo exclaimed, his voice laced with panic. He had no idea what to do to help Mia or Jace. "What's going on?"
Magnus immediately turned around, his eyes wide with alarm. He grabbed Mia's face gently, his fingers trembling slightly. In a swift motion, he tore her shirt, revealing her right arm where the parabatai rune was etched. The rune pulsed with an eerie reddish hue. Without hesitation, Magnus turned to Jace and repeated the action, exposing the matching parabatai rune on his right arm, which displayed the same unsettling reddish glow.
"MIA! MIA!" Regulus's desperate voice rang out as he rushed to Mia's side. He knelt beside her, his eyes filled with concern and fear. "What's wrong?" he pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion.
"We're losing them," Magnus said frantically, waving his hands in the air. "They're slipping"
"NO!" Theo cried out in distress, tears streaming down his face. "Do whatever you can to save them, Magnus. I don't have anyone else; they are my family. I have nobody else in this world."
Regulus, his heart heavy with worry, asked, pointing at the parabatai rune, "What is that?"
"It's the parabatai rune," Magnus replied, his voice filled with urgency as he alternated his gaze between Mia and Jace. "They feel what the other feels."
"What? How?" Regulus shouted in distress, his eyes wide with concern as he looked at his goddaughter.
"Your goddaughter has angel blood," Magnus explained firmly, "and their souls are united by the rune."
"My goddaughter is dying because of that rune!" Regulus cried, tears welling up in his eyes. "Break that damn connection now!"
"I can't," Magnus said without looking at Regulus, his focus entirely on Mia and Jace. "I can't. The only thing keeping Jace alive is Mia."
Mia had stopped having seizures, but she remained in the same state as Jace, looking as if she were asleep.
"What... what do we do?" Theo asked, his voice trembling with fear. "I can't feel them through the bond."
"Wait," Magnus said, his voice filled with concern. "The only thing left is to wait. Mia is channeling all of her magic into the rune, preventing Jace from dying. She is calling to him through the rune. She is trapped, lost between her Parabatai and herself. She's doing the same thing Jace did when she disappeared."
"Is she... is she going to wake up?" Regulus asked fearfully.
"She will wake up when she finds Jace," Magnus reassured them, "but we cannot separate them or break the Parabatai bond, or they will both die. Is that clear?"
Theo and Regulus nodded in understanding. Magnus then used his magic to change the clothes of Mia, Jace, Theo, and himself into cleaner ones. As Theo looked around at the onlookers, his anger flared.
"THE SHOW IS OVER, PEOPLE!" Theo shouted, his voice commanding attention. "NEWS FLASH: NO ONE WILL SET FOOT IN DURMSTRANG TERRITORY WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. THEY HAVE MADE THE SERIOUS MISTAKE OF MESSING WITH TWO OF OURS; THEY HAVE MESSED WITH ALL OF US."
The students nodded in agreement, and shouts of vengeance filled the air. Draco Malfoy had made a grave error by crossing the Unholy Trinity, and he would pay dearly for it.
"We have to move them," Regulus said, his voice filled with concern. "They are not safe here."
"We'll put them in the Targaryen grotto," Theo decided, determination in his eyes. "Balerion, Meraxes, and Vhagar are inside, and they will make sure that no one comes near them."
With great care, Magnus lifted Jace, and Theo carried Mia as they headed towards the grotto. Many Durmstang students lowered their heads in respect as they passed. Seeing two of Durmstang's best duelists in such a vulnerable state had stirred anger and determination among them. The unspoken rule was clear: anyone who dared to harm one of them would face the wrath of all.
Upon arriving at the Targaryen grotto, the dragons greeted their riders with growls of sadness and pain. Meraxes and Vhagar brought their heads closer to their respective riders, their large eyes filled with sorrow.
Theo summoned a bed and gently laid Mia down on it, and Magnus did the same with Jace so that they lay side by side. Balerion, Meraxes, and Vhagar surrounded the bed, forming an impenetrable barrier.
Magnus began to move his hands, conjuring a blue flame in both palms, and carefully placed the parabatai stone into the joined hands of Jace and Mia.
"Mia will wake up before Jace," Magnus said, his eyes filled with sympathy as he looked at Theo. "When she does, call me because she will need to repeat what she did in my loft. I'll bring Jem as well because my magic has its limits."
Theo nodded, his tears flowing freely, and Magnus embraced him tightly. "I'm so sorry, Theo. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Anything you need, send me one of your Patronus, and I will come as soon as possible."
