POV Allison Altman

Life is a miracle, it's what everyone's told and I was no exception. I don't want you to think that just because I end lives that I have no respect for them, I have high respect, that's part of the reason I became a surgeon. Even though I'm now supposedly a 'serial killer' and I know you're all thinking 'how could a serial killer respect lives?' but I don't kill lightly, all my kills have a reason behind them. That reason may only be because of one man, but that's still a reason, no matter how pathetic that sounds. My reasons are simple, you kill once it's addictive and Owen provided me with the best reason to kill, revenge and deep down don't we all want to kill. Now back to my next victim, Derek Shepherd.

Derek was a less obvious kill, if I'm being honest. It was mostly to hurt Amelia, my own personal form of torture, just for her. Finding Derek was easy, since divorcing Meredith Grey he had moved to Washington DC and still loved the limelight, I asked Cristina for any heart surgeries she could give me in the DC hospital Derek worked in. She found one in minutes and I got on the next flight bound for Washington DC. I did my hair and makeup like I always do, just like my mother used to, and picked one of my outfits that I thought was very similar to hers. I had on a black and white knee length dress and a black pair of black heels. I smiled at myself in the mirror before heading out the door with a knife tucked in my bag in case I needed to change tactic during this kill, but tonight I felt like a bit of fun first.

"Derek!" I called down the halls of the hospital. He turned and looked me directly in the eye.

"Teddy?" he called back mistaking me for my mother. "It's so good to see you," he said walking towards me and pulling me into a hug.

"Good to see you too." I said smiling back at him.

"You know you've hardly changed." Derek smiled at me.

"Neither have you. I feel like it's been ages." I said smiling back at him.

"What are you doing here?." Derek said with that charming McDreamy smile he never dropped.

"A heart surgery." I responded. "Listen do you want to go out for drinks later?" I asked.

"Sure I have a surgery that should be finished by 8." Derek said.

"I'll meet you in the lobby then." I said walking into the OR to do a CABG (Coronary artery bypass graft).

"There you are! Sorry my surgery ran long." I said walking into the lobby having only just changed out of my scrubs.

"It's fine. I only just got here myself." Derek said walking to the exit to the hospital, my arm linked through his.

"Bar?" I asked slipping my hand into my bag to check my knife was still present.

"Sounds good." Derek said leading the way. My head was buzzing to figure my way out of this, if I spent too much time with him he may realise I'm not my mother.

"Listen, Derek can we just stop by my hotel room?" I asked. "It's just a few minuets walk away." I said pulling him in the direction of the hotel.

"Of course." Derek said following me. As we approached the door to the hotel I slipped my hand into a passing woman's bag to pull out her room key, slipping it into my back pocket.

Once he was sat on the chair in my hotel room I went into the bathroom and stared at my reflection in the mirror.

"Here we go!" I whispered, pulling my hair back into a ponytail. As quietly as I could I opened the bathroom door and snuck behind Derek who was staring at his phone. I grabbed his phone from behind him and put it on the table. In his surprise he stood, that's when I landed my first kick. I kicked him straight in the head, then the crotch. Once his was on the knees on the floor I stood behind him, making sure he was looking in the mirror,

"This is for Teddy Altman." I said, seeing his face fall in the mirror I twisted his neck so quickly, with such force I heard it snap, then his body fell limp.

"Goodnight, Derek!" I laughed. I lifted his body and carried it out of the room to the room number indicated by the other key card. Once the door was open I pulled the sheets out and put the body under them, making it look like Derek was sleeping. As I walked out I dropped the key partway down the corridor to be handed into reception.

I dragged my bag through the halls of the hospital in Switzerland.

"Hey Altman, I need you to scrub in with me and Hayes this afternoon." Cristina yelled at me as I walked past her open office door. I paused and stood in the door frame.

"Younger or older?" I asked hoping for Liam Hayes not his father Cormac Hayes, me and Liam had been developing slightly more than a friendship.

"Younger." Cristina said with a wink as a smile erupted on my face. "Enjoy." Cristina said as I thanked her and started walking to my office. On the desk sat a US newspaper which I always have delivered, the headline read 'award winning neurosurgeon Dr Derek Shepherd found dead in hotel room'. The article went on to describe the details of his life which I skipped over with a vicious smile. I stoped dead in my tracks when a name drew my attention, I began to read out loud in my empty office.

"Owen Hunt said that 'Dr Shepherd's death is a blow to both the medical community and me personally he was a close friend.'" I laughed, "his close friend, I'm so pleased." I repeated laughing more.

"What are you laughing about?" Liam asked entering my office.

"Oh, Liam, hey. I just got message from an old friend of my mom's." I said thinking of Arizona's number still in my desk drawer untouched.

"Ok then. Listen after this surgery do you want to grab a drink?" Liam asked with a sweet smile.

"Sure." I responded a little too quickly. "Sounds like fun. See you in surgery Liam." I said as he started to leave.

"See you later Allison." He said as he disappeared. I put the article in the top drawer of my desk and pulled out Arizona's number leaving it on my desk 'for after surgery and before drinks' I decided.
